    Rocket League is a great game at its core, but the lack of a free camera mode and the crappy matchmaking system take away a lot of the fun. You get matched against pre-made parties that are a lot stronger than your own team all the time.

    One of the very few games i like these days. Great fun and gameplay. It also got a good price and is totally pay2win free, so a great example for other developers/publishers.

    First and foremost, RL is pure fun from the moment you pick it up just due to its fast pace and physics. It seems easy on the surface - just drive around and hit the ball. But underneath there's a layer of complexity that takes time and skill to master. Before you know it you'll be driving up the walls and launching yourself into the air with rocket boost. You don't have to be a soccerFirst and foremost, RL is pure fun from the moment you pick it up just due to its fast pace and physics.     This game is exceptionally fun and has incredible potential as a competitive eSports title! Its even better when you play with friends and you all have mics or some way of communication!

    The only thing I would change is how the ranked match system works.     This Game is really cool with super good grapics. That makes so much fun especially with friends !!! so many cool cars or cars design and there comes always more !!! I love the boost. The boost is the best. Without that it would not be really fun. For example you can with the boost still fly...

    Such a simple concept, perfectly polished, to create the ideal game for both couch and online play. Is it the best game of the year? I don't know, but I'd be sorely disappointed if a list didn't include it as a potential nominee. Amazing dev support!

    This is an absolutely amazing game. I decided to play it after seeing amazing tricks on youtube, at the beginning my skills were very poor, then with practice the game became more fast, challenging and fun.

    This is the must-have game of 2015 ;)!

    I have played many sports games that have been manipulated to include some twist, but Rocket League is a different story. This game will catch you wide-eyed at your screen, four hours into the game. Rocket League is fun, competitive, and emotional all wrapped into one.

    It's great, it's definitely one of the most fun games I've ever played. It plays really well, the offline modes are very challenging, and it's very fast paced and intense. However, no game is without it's flaws; it lacks game modes, unlike Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars. (God that's a long name.) At times, the camera made me feel like I was going in every direction atIt's great, it's definitely one of the most fun games I've ever played.     fun to play mostly with friends but it's also highly playable by yourself if you don't have anyone to play with.
    graphics are amazing and i love to play this with my mates.

    Gameplay feels simple but is actually surprisingly deep, lots of players and fun customisation. Whats not to like. Plus ranked servers and unranked as well as a party system that works well with matchmaking, making it easy to get you and your friends all into one game quickly.

    However needs a better tutorial

    Game just got worse, boring, horrible matchmaking, lag issues, even they destroyed the main theme, i loved the game when they had the patch 1.3, the matches felt equal and fun, now the game takes 2 mins for matching you into a ranked match and later you get matched with people that even aren't your skill ranting, its sad that game that start being wonderful, they get destroyed by horribleGame just got worse, boring, horrible matchmaking, lag issues, even they destroyed the main theme, i loved the game when they had the patch 1.3, the matches felt equal and fun, now the game takes 2 mins for matching you into a ranked match and later you get matched with people that even aren't your skill ranting, its sad that game that start being wonderful, they get destroyed by horrible patches, sadly online games developers never listen to their customers, so 0!!!!!… Expand

    The games are short (5 minutes each) and you can check your rank after each match. There are a ton of customisations you can make to your car and restarting is really quick ( making it really addictive)! I'm now 'Pro' at rank 296 - this still makes me pretty new but the matchmaking ensures I play people    I'm not a huge fan of cars and I like football but I freakin' love Rocket League!

    Really cool car-soccer game >> very easy to learn & easy matchmaking system >> its also very fair cause all cars have the same steering and acceleration, just the hitboxes are different >> haven't seen any cheater till now >> can just commend every gamer to buy it for the little prize :)

    OK, got this on PS plus, had no idea what it was and no expectations.
    First time I booted this up I had 3 other friends over, and we played the **** out of it for 6 hours straight.
    It has since been the primary party game for my friends and I.
    You don't have to like soccer, you don't have to like cars...it's just a really fun game.

    This game is perfection. Easy to learn, hard to master. Competitive and insanely good fun to play with friends. I've played about 44 hours of this in eight days. I just can't stop.

That's why restaurants that specialize in pasta don't only serve pasta, for example. It's easy to turn off a customer who doesn't like their pasta. In short: A unique little concept, but it doesn't have any variety whatsoever and gets boring incredibly quickly. Oh, and before you say anything, why take the time to play a game I'm not enjoying just so I can get better and potentially enjoy it more? I could easily be spending that time on a better game having more fun. Rocket League is, simply put, repetitive. I don't WANT to "get good", because it isn't fun. I don't give a damn if it's more fun as a pro, but if I have to waste 50 hours getting to that level before I find your game enjoyable compared to using that time to play a BETTER GAME, you've failed as a developer.
    tl;dr: Repetitive, and beyond overrated. It simply isn't fun. Why a 4 if all I've spouted is negativity? Because it controls well, the devs aren't trying to swindle people, and it's taking the piss out of FIFA. BUT, that won't excuse the COMPLETE lack of replayability. Every match is the same. Punt the ball to the goal, or use teamwork to punt the ball to the goal. Nothing more, and it gets old FAST. But, in this day and age, people will FLOCK to a game that's simplistic and repetitive. See: Agar.io. You can say it's "simplistic" all you want, but that doesn't make it LESS DAMN REPETITIVE.

    double tl;dr: overrated and repetitive. I hear that Verdun is on sale. Go buy that if you want an example of a GOOD competitive multiplayer game.    … Expand

    This is a very fun and very simple game. Grading a game like this is difficult. Its soccer with cars that becomes more fun when playing with friends vs. real players.     It's funny! And Addictive! And more funny! Soccer + Cars with simplified mechanics. It's difficult to develop a game in this way and become a good one. And the developers are updating it each week with improvements

    When i first heard of this game, I thought "its just soccer with cars how fun can it be?"
    Well it turns out this game gave me the most fun ive had playing any video game in a long time.

    Absolutely brilliant game and a game of the year in my opinion. Graphics and game play are outstanding and the local multi-player is my favorite part of the game. worth every cent of my purchase and hope they bring more to the game such as game modes and unlocks. Overall the game is outstanding and definitely worth getting!!

No progression, no stats the game needs work. A lot of it! Destroying other cars seems to hurt you more than help you. once you get higher up in rank its non stop goalies which seems to make the game more boring to me than fun IThis Game is Awesome with a lot of depth BUT!!! Throwing it back to the old days for sure. Get some controllers and invite some friends over and make a team, I guarantee you'll have a blast.

    The game play is great, you get to combine your driving/racing game skills with your sports game skills, which are two very old concepts in gaming, but psyonix has combined them for a completely new and original experience. In terms of options, you can play online vs other players, (1 v 1, 2 v 2, 3 v3 ,or 4 v4), or locally with friends. You can also play vs people online with your team set up locally split screen. There is single player, you can do a "season", but its essentially just an exhibition vs bots over and over. Most people will just be playing online 3 v 3 over and over. but thats really all you need!

    The only knock on the game so far, which has been well documented, is the server issues. But I really havent had too much of an issue with it, a few laggy games here and there, but no real trouble finding a game.

    If you are here reading the reviews, that means youre at least semi interested, you should just go play the game already. 20 bucks very very well spent    … Expand

    Anyone can hop in and instantly understand how to play
    there is a season mode with various difficulties to choose from where you try to win the championship from ai controlled opponents and partners.
    If your team isn’t full by time the match starts online, you are also teamed up with ai partners.
    The ai however can occasionally do more harm than good, hitting the ball in the wrong net, and overly just not aggressive enough when it comes to taking shots to be all too helpful
    I understand that this is to prevent ai teams from being over powered, but when youre the one stuck with the ai team, it can be a little frustrating.
    Match making is great though, even if you have a crappy connection, matches are a breeze to get into
    if you find yourself getting your but handed to you, there is a training mode to teach you have to effectively use your boosts and tricks, and how to effectively make shots and block shots as a goalie.
    The game features 11 cars and thousands of combinations to make your rocket car yours
    however I find it highly annoying that you cant customize each car individually.
    your settings carry over to each car, which sucks considering each cars style is different and has its own personality.
    it sucks having to go in and change things every time you want to drive a new car.
    Also good or bad depending how you look on it, all cars handle the same.
    there are no perks to use to your advantage.
    everybody goes into each match steroid free.
    A very even playing field.
    There a few minor annoyances such as ai and a few pretty big annoyances such as party creation not always working and customization not sticking to individual cars.
    but overall Rocket League is a really fun and addictive game to play both online or at home with a friend

    Best game of this year so far! :D I can only imagine how much fun this game would be to play with you friends, The game even has a ranking system if you get addicted to trying to stay above your friends in that aspect! :D

    A very fun game, i have never played anything like this and that's what makes Rocket League fun to play. I wish they got more better servers so i didn't lag because playing bots is quite boring.

My only criticisms of this game is the fact that I have noted on more than a few occasions, AI will try to score on their own goal, and the lack of binge ability.     The controls are fluent and easy,but need experience to become pro. Tons of gamemodes,but I think they need to add more in the future. Lots of cool customization without paying extra money. It's very well done, has a fantastic devs, the online competition is incredibly, offline still being super fun, has split screen, cross plataform and the more important "You are free to do what ever your skill cap let you to do and inject your own style into the game"

    Finally something new. Not another zombie-survival-shooter. I like Rocket League's simplicity and how much fun is playing it with your friends. I also didn't find any cons of this game, it's amazing!

    Rocket League aka Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket Powered Battle Cars 2 (SARPBC 2) is essentially a really good re-make of the first SARPBC which was my "go to" game for around 5 years!!!! They have kept true to their original design concept = Awesome.

    I would say it is essentially the same game but with improvements across the board. The graphics are more detailed, the Physics and realism of the game play are true to the original. The Arena's are all similar in shape to the most popular pitch in SARPBC (Urban) but they do vary in weather conditions and have both day & night play. I have heard they are developing additional Arena's of different shapes which is cool.

    The matchmaking system wants to match you to similar skilled players, whereas in the original you could be matched against the best players and get spanked :( or against noobs and spank them = boring.
    So now with similar skilled players there is always the competitive edge that makes you want to do better and have "JUST ONE MORE GAME !!!!"

    There were several different cars in SARPBC with only 4 different paint jobs for each car. Now there are a staggering amount of customisations available from different wheel trims to HATS and even more cars to choose from !!!! So you can have the coolest looking car on the pitch.

    Offline mode previously allowed you some skills training to learn the ropes and this is much the same now with Rocket League. However now you can try your skills against the bots in either Exhibition maps or Season Mode. Having completed 2 seasons (9 weeks & 18 weeks) it is very compelling and challenging. Yes the Bots make silly mistakes but in my experience playing SARPBC so do a lot of players. With the overwhelming success of Rocket League I feel confident that Pysonix will be improving Bot skills making it even more challenging.

    Overall I'm very impressed with Rocket League. In SARPBC it took me a couple of games to grips with the basics, several hours to get to a decent level and having played at least 10 hours a week for 5 years of SARPBC I was still learning how to score that FreeStyle Aerial Goal!!!

    The game is very addicting and fun. Learning to master air shots and other maneuvers keeps the game challenging and fresh. Offline modes are fun and challenging on all star difficulty, the training modes are definitely helpful as well.

    There has been some server issues because of the super high demand for the game but that is to be expected when a online game gets so much hype.    The game is very addicting and fun.     This game is all about FUN. In my opinion, console gaming is about having fun playing a game with some friends on a couch. This game is exactly that ! It's so addictive and fun to play, the online and the offline !! A must try for everyone !!

    At a glance, the game seems completely bland in concept. An indie soccer game with cars? I thought nothing of it, but signed up for the beta anyways. After playing, I couldn't get enough. The game is one of the most fun games I've played in a long time. It's easy to understand the basics, but will take a lot of time to get genuinely good at the game. Of course, you can also play with your friends at home via. local co-op because it's one of the games which has a splitscreen mechanism for up to 4 players - true old-school gaming! It also features several offline modes, such as exhibition matches against bots or season mode against bots. And of course, it also features a tutorial and a training mode which both are well made.

    Gameplay: Rocket League is incredibly balanced. Ever battle-car has the same speed, the same maneuverability and the same jump height. The only thing which is slightly different between the battle-cars is the hitbox, but you probably won't notice that the hitbox is different at all. The general gameplay is very fast, very fun and very addictive. The controls are simple, but mastering the cars and the battle-car is difficult. The bots are playing surprisingly good, there's a high possibility that you will lose your first games against the bots.

    Customization possibilities: Players are able to customize their battle-car by unlocking items which are gained by completing an online or offline match. This includes changing the body, decal (skin), paint, wheels, rocket trail, topper (hat) and antenna of the battle-car. In total, there are more than 150 customization items unlockable, which means that there are millions of different customizations possible

    My conclusion: Rocket League is incredibly fun. Rocket League is incredibly addictive. Rocket League is incredibly competitive. If I would have to compare the gameplay to another game, I would only be able to choose Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, which is the prequel to Rocket League, made by the same developer. I strongly recommend to buy this game even if you don't like sports games as Rocket League feels way different compared to FIFA or PES. In my opinion Rocket League is definitely worth the money.    … Expand

    You have to play this game. Srsly. You can't judge it by just watching the screenshots or even videos, you have to FEEL it. The game is mad fun, gaming at its best.

    And it's surprisingly deep too. It's easy to pick up, but to _really_ mastering it, it will keep you busy for a long time.

    And the devs are the best.

    Do you remember “Top Gear” episodes in which football matches were played using hatchbacks? The same idea is the cornerstone of Rocket League – one of those jewels that do not care for bells and whistles (though it does look great) and Kevin Spacey in the credits, instead focusing on squeezing every last drop of fun out of a simple concept.
