We all know that there is a lot of people complaining about the defense system, but they really need to know that the game have a completely nice defense system in the versus match and in works if you know where to place your units, because in case you place all of your defenses you'll fail instantly and that would become a boulder race to the gates.

The story was extremely fun and with an amazing artwork, the cut scenes are hilarious and the historical events were chosen correctly.

ACE team managed to create a game completely unique. Same as Zeno Clash. If they are making another one, i would probably pre ordered it instantly.

10/10 because it was bloody hilarious and the multiplayer is so intense in ways that i can't even describe.

Totally worth the 9.99 dollars on Steam.

I thought this game was unique and awesome. There's something about the combination of physics based object rolling/destruction, tactical defensive construction, and gibberish spewing old men (and sometimes women, zombies....goats... etc.) screaming like little girls, that just never gets old for me. There's something about the combination of physics based object rolling/destruction, tactical defensive construction, and gibberish spewing old men (and sometimes women, zombies....goats... etc.) screaming like little girls, that just never gets old for me. One thing I think worth mentioning is that I've seen reviewers complaining about the maps and tactics becoming stale, or that the only real strategy is to just make sure you roll your rock as fast as possible. While that may be partially true, certainly in the beginning, the more I played the game - and the better I got at it - the more I realized that if you plan correctly, there are ways to totally shut down your opponent, even if they got a head start. Essentially, the tactical side of the game is really only as good as the people playing. At first I didn't think it was possible, but by the time I'd reached the end of the game, there were maps where I was able to build defenses that would completely destroy the enemy's boulder, and if careful planning can accomplish that - then there's definitely some great potential for match variety. Besides, all strategy aside, it's still pretty darn fun - even if you and your opponent's defenses utterly fail, and it does simply turn into a mad boulder race to the finish :P. Expand

Fun to play, and really funny too. The comedy of this game is amazing, especially considering the fact they probably only had to hire one or two voice actors for the entire game. The multiplayer is fun for a bit, but like the original game is tired after the first one or two goes at it. The game isnt lacking in content, though in all honesty I feel the 10 dollar price to be just a tad steep. But if you can get the game on sale for anywhere 7.50 and under, its a great game to get for that price. Expand

A really REALLY hilarious game! With an artistic bizarre style that will make you laugh a lot between every level of the History mode. The versus mode are also great and very fun, quick battles, if you are looking for fast play between team-mates to laugh constantly then this is your game. After all, not every game has to be a never ending hours of battle on each match, right?

Ace team's sophomore effort comes with their trademark weirdness references from mystery science theater 3k to Greek mythology abound. The game itself is addictive, but I haven't finished it yet. In my first play through it was stellar though. I really got into it and enjoyed the defensive element and the animals, my only gripe is that it seems overly repetive. I really got into it and enjoyed the defensive element and the animals, my only gripe is that it seems overly repetive. The defenses do a good job of slowing opponents down in one level I placed catapults in such a way that my opponent ended up stuck on an island while I slammed their citadel. If you use some thought the planning parts can be great the a.I. Isn't hard to trick either. For eight usd this is a really great game and for fans of Zeno clash a must by. Ace team have made perversions out of the unreal engine and truly pushed a game out there is a little shy of epic, but provides comedy in droves. Try it, you might just like it. Expand

Totally funny. I love it. It's not just another generic game. It's refreshingly orignal. great work, ace team. Multiplayer is also very funny. build traps for the enemie's boulder and crush the game of your steam-friends. Controlls are pretty good. easy controll with keyboard and mouse. also played the xbox version which is also good, but PC version is much much much better.

This was a really refreshing take on gaming. Well designed with funny interludes. The game-play really makes this worth the money. I'd be looking forward to their next game. Highly recommended.

The game kinda reminds me of chess, just with rolling boulders in it. Singleplayer is great for the hilarious cutscenes, and crazy boss fights, but multiplayer is where its really at. Sadly, the lobby is almost always empty, so it might be difficult to find anyone to play.

I think this is best racing game for family.
Not too easy, not too hard.
Easy to learn how to play. (Just build some obstacle for enemy and Go race!)
Play best with 2 Xbox360 Controller.

    Can play "Local Co-op" (splitscreen)
    Good to play with girlfriend.

Half tower defense...half reverse tower defense. I love games where you get to destroy stuff and this one fills my destructive appetite. The cut scenes are great--extremely funny. Perfect game for an XBOX controller. Has multiplayer too. A rock solid production!

A true gem, I was so surprised to witness how much fun this game is! It is exciting, and it makes you laugh when you don't expect. Controls remind me of Katamari games, which are absent on the PC platform. So I highly recommend, it's so good that it will make you question why you pay $60 for a game, where you can have so much fun for so little money!

Leonardo da Vinci rolling boulders down a hill to kill peasants, crush houses, defeat Gods and eventually breach into Marie Antoniette castle (and cruelly squash her). Do I need to say more?
Single player mode is good but also quite easy. Start playing this with some friends of yours to unlock endless fun.

Rock of ages explores a completely new set of game mechanics and play style . Its whimsical art style is also admirable . The comedy however , often falls flat .

An enjoyable and, dare I say, cozy game, even though it has neither flashy graphics, nor innovative gameplay ideas, nor much variety.

Its creative and quirky nature is let down by mechanics that don't feel strongly realised, Rock of Ages is still good for the occasional roll. [Christmas 2011, p.67]

This is a game about smashing up artwork with a big rock, and there's nothing wrong with that. [Holiday 2011, p.79]
