May 21, 2025RoadCraft is a deeply immersive driving sim that combines realistic vehicle physics with strategic infrastructure management. While its slow pace and complex mechanics may not suit everyone, those who stick with it will find a uniquely rewarding experience.
-
May 19, 2025RoadCraft is everything I had previously enjoyed in Expeditions while building upon it with increased challenges and task that will test players each step of the way and require some clever thinking at times.

May 27, 2025With its visual prowess, RoadCraft presents a promising foundation for a unique and engaging construction simulator. Its road construction mechanics and realistic environments are impressive. However, it also feels underdeveloped and lacking in customization, which previous Saber Interactive games have. In addition, clunky UI and a plethora of bugs ultimately hold RoadCraft back from realizing its full potential. While dedicated fans of road engineering and construction simulators might enjoy the game’s granular control and visual feedback, “RoadCraft” requires significant improvements and additions before it can truly compete with established players in the genre. It’s a game with a strong concept but needs a lot more work before it’s ready for prime time. The foundation is there, but the road ahead is still under construction.
-
May 19, 2025RoadCraft is a great concept that needs at least another year of development. In a few patches, it’ll be the best game of its type, but it’s impossible to fully recommend with its sentient semis, borked physics, idiotic AI, and base technical issues.
-
May 19, 2025The simulation might not be as deep as others, but working the heavy machinery is quite entertaining most of the time.
-
May 19, 2025RoadCraft is an interesting simulation compromise, which combines great attention to detail in models, times and settings, with the attempt to maximize the importance of the “task - completion - reward” mechanism. There is no need to refuel the vehicles, nor to worry about them breaking. It is almost more of a “simulation of a child builder’s imagination”, where everything is allowed and experimentation is a must. By involving other players online, distributing tasks and playing “role-playing”, the title’s playful peak is reached. However, those who experience RoadCraft alone will notice the hybrid nature which is not entirely realistic, nor “facilitated” enough. Saber’s title has nevertheless proven to be a rather efficient machine.
-
Sep 19, 2025Roadcraft is not a game for everyone, and it’s not even for every Snowrunner fan — but that’s what makes it brilliant for those willing to tune in, and the number of potential fans is probably larger than one might guess. So, despite how eager I am for the return of the Chosen One in Snowrunner 2, I also will be keenly watching where Roadcraft goes. I can’t think of anything in the double-A space that’s more interesting, or has more potential, than this game.
-
May 19, 2025In theory, RoadCraft holds a lot of cards to become a brilliant road working sim, but ultimately suffers from Saber's inability to pick a lane and stay on it. Convoluted controls make it a daunting chore for the casual gamer, while the simplified execution of some construction tasks deem RoadCraft unfit to be a true sim. Combine this with some questionable physicsand frustrating vehicle characteristics, and one can only conclude that there's quite some roadwork to be done to make RoadCraft the game it ultimately deserves to be.
-
Jul 1, 2025In practice, RoadCraft should be recognized as a very enjoyable offshoot of the franchise that is designed to showcase the new version of Swarm Engine and appeal to a more casual audience. A solid fleet of cars and new features will keep you entertained for several dozen hours.
-
May 19, 2025RoadCraft is closer to building sims than to being the successor of transporting goods through difficult terrain. Perhaps thanks to this, I really enjoyed playing.
-
May 19, 2025Its unique idea is a logical extension of Saber's previous productions, and serves as an excellent motivation for building roads and repairing infrastructure. Games tend to encourage unmitigated destruction, so repairing that destruction is a refreshing change of pace.
-
May 19, 2025A beautiful truck sandbox with road construction that isn't as prominent as expected.
-
May 19, 2025Roadcraft is an excellent addition to Saber’s roster of sim titles. Focusing on construction over driving represents a step forward, showing that this formula can do more, especially when the mechanics and depth are as impressive as they are here.
-
May 20, 2025RoadCraft feels like the culmination of everything Saber Interactive learned while making its previous simulation games. Its vast variety of vehicles all feel incredibly fun to drive around, and rebuilding a place that got wrecked by natural disasters can be incredibly rewarding.
-
May 26, 2025RoadCraft, despite a few controversial changes and shortcomings, strikes me as a way more engaging title than SnowRunner. This is a very welcoming game for beginners, and one that gives much more satisfaction upon completing tasks. And it is also a brand new, very potent basis to expand the franchise.
-
May 21, 2025Disaster struck and the world is broken, but RoadCraft lets you rebuild it one satisfying step at a time.
-
May 30, 2025Roadcraft right now seems to be more focused on mud and rough terrain driving physics while perhaps neglecting the small things that make games great fun. Needing to drive all over creation just to move a few rocks off the road is definitely fun in the beginning but it can become a chore later on, especially if the need to re-spawn occurs. When I think about Roadcraft I see a great game in the making. It's good right now but I think Saber will keep working on it and make it greater in the future.
-
May 19, 2025RoadCraft builds on Saber Interactive’s off-road legacy with a detailed, physics-driven experience. It’s a niche title best enjoyed by fans of heavy machinery and slow-paced simulation. Co-op play adds significant value, but solo players may find the long playtime a bit demanding.
-
May 19, 2025Roadcraft is a huge surprise—maybe the best “work sim” game out there. Its maps are giant sandboxes you can mess around in solo or with up to three friends, and its vehicles are super realistic toy-like machines you can drive from the outside, the inside, and across all kinds of terrain.
-
May 19, 2025Easily better than Snowrunner or Expeditions, Roadcraft is one of 2025’s best, and a convincing argument that even the most esoteric subject matter can be translated into compelling videogames.
-
May 19, 2025Roadcraft is surprisingly deep and well-made. While different from MudRunner or SnowRunner, it can still appeal to their fans as well as newcomers interested in construction and heavy machinery. The dynamic mud system remains fun, and the visuals and technical scenarios impress. Some tasks do get repetitive over time, and a bit more automation could help—but overall, it's a solid construction sim in tough terrain.
-
May 19, 2025Roadcraft brilliantly evokes the feeling of being a kid in a giant sandbox - only with grown-up tools. Jumping between massive machines, loading materials, flattening asphalt, and restoring order to disaster zones is immensely satisfying. Once you get past some UI quirks and minor annoyances, Roadcraft offers hours of engaging, mud-slinging fun. Bring a few friends, and the experience becomes even more rewarding.
-
May 19, 2025RoadCraft sets out to do one very specific thing and it does it very well: it’s amazing how quickly the hours fly by when you’re busy paving roads, moving heavy loads, finding creative uses for mobile cranes, and cursing the mud. Sure, it could use some tweaking to some of the minor things, like the interface or audio issues. But otherwise, it’s hard not to be satisfied. Bringing a few friends along isn’t a bad idea, though: some tasks can seem downright daunting for a single operator of heavy machinery.
-
May 19, 2025]If you can ignore the game’s pointless day-one DLC, you will be in for a uniquely themed construction sim with a lot of attention to detail in RoadCraft, albeit one that is not free of its bugs.
-
Jun 8, 2025RoadCraft has ultimately proven to be one of the standout titles of this year. It offers a unique gameplay experience centered around operating heavy machinery in post-disaster recovery missions, with unmatched freedom and attention to detail. The vast open maps, logistical puzzle elements, and over 40 different vehicles create an engaging sandbox for creative problem-solving.

May 28, 2025If I had lots of free time, I would probably enjoy it a lot more. But I don't, so tipping over with a cargo bay full of steel beams makes me frown, where it might have otherwise made me laugh. This, I think, is another issue. RoadCraft is a podcast game, in the same vein as Truck Simulator or Elite: Dangerous. There's a big place for games like this in the world, sims that excel in delivering a specific kind of wonderful and comforting boredom. Slow tasks that act as a reassuring sedative in the manic whorl of life. But RoadCraft's start-and-go flow makes it a bumpier ride for me. I was falling asleep, but I never quite drifted off into its promised dreamland.
