PC Zone UKIt's by far their most accessible game yet. [June 2010, p.89]

Prussian virtues like discipline and order aren’t much fun and turn-based battles like in Rise of Prussia aren’t much fun either. If you are very interested in the Seven Year war, then go for it, otherwise take a look at Napolean: Total War instead.
-
Rise of Prussia is a solid but unspectacular slice of neoclassical strategy gaming that is worth a look if you are a die-hard fan of AGEOD's previous efforts, or if you're a strategy buff looking for a new challenge. And possibly if you have an obsession for white wigs.
-
So the games tend toward stalemate. Action-packed stalemate, certainly, but that action grows tiresome as the armies take and retake the same contested territories over dozens and dozens of turns. Rise of Prussia becomes a game about attrition and endurance, on the part of the player as much as his troops.
