Revenge of the Savage Planet was a blast to play, and even more fun just sitting back and watching the game’s many hilarious cutscenes. Full of absurdist humor, slapstick visual comedy and a genuine sense of adventure, this game took me by surprise and got me hooked.

Revenge of the Savage Planet is an excellent, goo-filled adventure with plenty to do on your journey from being a hapless fool to a genuine space hero.

The word that immediately came to mind when first jumping into Return of the Savage Planet is ‘joyful.’ It's an out-of-pocket word to pick for a goofy indie space exploration title, but immediately after booting it up, everything from the voice acting and setting to gameplay and humor made me smile. There’s an undercurrent of love found on every screen, with the small team behind the game weaving their passion and playfulness into each pixel. A bigger team doesn’t necessarily mean a better product, and sometimes, all players need is a little chaos, an electric whip, a few fart jokes, and the promise of (hopefully) more adventures on the horizon.

Revenge of the Savage Planet is a testament to building on a solid foundation and letting creativity lead the way. Whether it's the puzzles, the platforming, the creature design, or the ace comedic dialogue, this game delivers in every single way. Co-op or solo, it's just pure joy, and it comes from a satirical take on working that hits close to home.

Revenge of the Savage Planet is the result of the efforts of talented, passionate fans of platformers and open world games, in the guise of science fiction and corporate satire.

It’s a huge step up from the first game, and a delightfully dumb, beautifully good time.

Take on alien creatures big and small as you try to find your way home in this sequel that improves on the original in almost every way.

A faithful sequel to the sci-fi slapstick adventure, though it lacks groundbreaking innovations.

The game offers enjoyable exploration and cooperative play across varied alien worlds with solid shooting mechanics and clever gadgets, but its repetitive structure and limited enemy variety reduce long-term excitement. Overall, it delivers a fun, lighthearted adventure with good content and accessibility despite lacking depth and challenge.

Revenge of the Savage Planet is a little gem. It's not a game that excels in any particular way, but an experience made up of many very solid, if watered-down, subsystems. The combat isn't technical, but it still manages to convince. The platforming doesn't have the complexity of the masterpieces of the genre, but it's still appreciated. The exploration isn't refined, but it still has some witty solutions and vibrant worlds. The plot isn't anything special, but it's embellished with a humor that constantly oscillates between nonsense and black humor. And it's precisely the latter that acts as a glue for the entire experience, transforming it from a set of more or less interconnected systems into a title of substance, which manages to provide a dozen hours (doubled, if you want to explore everything explorable) of healthy and carefree fun.

A witty take on sci-fi and co-op that’s teeming with life and begging for you to get creative with its gadgets.

Revenge of the Savage Planet is a beautiful, bizarre, and bitingly satirical romp through corporate space colonization gone horribly wrong. Its gameplay loop is fun and rewarding, especially with a friend, and its world design is undeniably striking. But its relentless satire sometimes trips over itself, burying useful info under waves of chaotic, screechy FMV nonsense or worse, a screen blocking contract. If you can tolerate a bit of style-over-substance and like your sci-fi with a side of snark, this one’s worth jumping into—just don’t expect to always know what’s going on, and definitely don’t trust your boss.

A cheery and densely-packed co-op metroidvania that’s here for a good time, not a long time.

An irreverent, colorful and intelligent space adventure, which confirms Raccoon Logic's talent in telling absurd worlds that, deep down, are all too similar to our own. It's not perfect, but it's fun.

These misgivings aside, Revenge of the Savage Planet offers up a carefree adventure that's a rollicking good time either solo or with a friend--whether online or in split-screen. It's a more confident and varied sequel, with a shift in perspective that maximizes its slapstick comedy and platforming chops. Combat is a letdown, but everything around it is a joy, from finding creative ways to use its gadgets and solve puzzles to simply exploring every nook and cranny of its diverse and bountiful planets. Revenge of the Savage Planet may have been born from less-than-ideal circumstances, but it's evident from playing it just how much Raccoon Logic is reveling in it existing at all.

Revenge of the Savage Planet is a fitting follow-up to the excellent original. Its impact is mildly diminished by being a little too forgiving, and it’s a surprisingly chilled experience despite everything wanting to murder you, but one thing is for certain; Revenge of the Savage Planet is a great time, and I want to see more from the Savage Planet franchise.

In the end, Revenge of the Savage Planet is a good follow-up to Journey to the Savage Planet. The concept of exploring new, absurd worlds remains novel, while the expanded tool set and mobility tweaks strengthen the gameplay. The worlds are large and packed with loads to discover, and the game offers up a good amount to do even after you've seen the credits for the first time. For those who love exploring, Revenge of the Savage Planet is well worth checking out.

Impressive efforts with a few noticeable problems holding them back. Won't astound everyone, but is worth your time and cash. Revenge of the Savage Planet is a wild, colorful space adventure packed with quirky humor and chaotic exploration. Co-op play enhances the experience, and the addictive build customization keeps you engaged. While combat can be overwhelming at times, the fun, unpredictable nature of the game makes it hard to put down.

Revenge of the Savage Planet is a fun action-adventure game with Metroidvania elements that features a variety of gameplay mechanics, all put together with a generous sprinkling of humor. While it still needs some polishing with control buttons and subtitles, Revenge of the Savage Planet still delivers an enjoyable space adventure out in the stars.

Revenge of the Savage Planet is a confident sequel that expands on the original game in all the right ways. Its five densely packed planets are a joy to uncover, more importantly, invite exploration in all the right ways. While the humour is a bit hit or miss and I will personally always miss the first-person, Metroid Prime-like gameplay, some strong level design and a satisfying loop of exploration makes Revenge of the Savage Planet a strong but quirky debut for Raccoon Logic.

Revenge of the Savage Planet is a fun, inventive follow-up with strong humor and style, held back slightly by late-game narrative shifts and some repetitive mechanics.

With four new planets to explore, coorful visuals and occasionally aggressive humor, Revenge of the Savage Planet is just as fun as the first one. But the monotonous combat mechanics and enemies that attack you almost non-stop can get tiresome after a while.
