WilliamT.Nov 9, 2007A good plot, many weapons, non-stop action, great multiplayer. The only thing that falls down a bit is the singleplayer. Good at the start, but the fun factor starts to slowly deteriorate after. Worth the time and money.

Dec 20, 2011Boring graphics, boring story plot, its makes me wonder if the developers thought the game was boring and out an equal amount of effort into it. If you see Return to Castle Wolfenstein on sale for $5 or $10, it might be worth buying.

Jun 5, 2022It's not because Return to Castle Wolfenstein is difficult, but because it's difficult for all the wrong reasons.

Jul 12, 2020It's an average game, keep your pants up, for that time it must have been top 10 surely.

Apr 21, 2020Killing nazis is good fun. Unfortunately the "supernatural" part of the game, as well as most of the bosses, are quite a bore.

Jan 8, 2023My rating is definitely reflected by modern times. Playing this now it does feel a bit simplistic with the combat, mainly minimal gunplay mechanics and level design being a bit static. BUT it does have leaning which is nice. It being in the Source Engine helped as they were able to do some fun things with the environments.

PC GamerIt took the core aspects of every good shooter, and made them great. [Jan 2002, p.64]

The graphics are stunning. I can honestly say this one area where this game leaves all the rest in the dust.

You’ll be glad to know that the flamethrower isn’t the only great weapon at your disposal. The venom, which is a devastatingly powerful chain-gun, is one of the most amazing guns I’ve ever had the pleasure to handle in a video game.
