Revelations 2 isn’t quite a return to form for the series or anything quite so dramatic, but it’s an example of doing more with less.

Revelations 2 as an episodic horror works surprisingly well, and even though it may discourage with its weak story and dialogues, the gameplay and strong content are saving the game. Replayability works here well too, so you can spend long hours playing this gruesome entertainment.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 is a robust title, despite its low-budget production. The gameplay is somehow simpler, closer to the old chapters of the saga, and yet still captivating.

The stubborn insistence on co-op elements impedes more than it helps. But otherwise Capcom is on a good way back to old survival horror virtues with Revelations 2. And that is something that I didn’t think possible after the Resident Evil 6 experience.

Revelations 2 may not induce as much heart-pounding from its horror elements as we would have liked, but it still spins a gripping tale with great atmosphere and an actually terrifying villain. Although it lacks in level variety, the campaign improves on the first Revelations quite a bit and stands as a gloomy counterpoint to the adrenaline rush of the simple yet surprisingly addictive raid mode.

It feels like visiting an old friend. New in some regards, but nothing too surprising. And in this case, that's actually a good thing.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is a reminiscent of the old school survival horror with some modern mechanics from the new Resident Evil. The plot is a little stereotypical, but the game has seductive sounds and atmosphere.

A confident mishmash of a few different Resi games. [July 2015, p.70]

Despite obvious financial limitations the developers bent over backwards to provide us with the best game possible. Revelations 2 does not reach the level of the last three main Resident Evils, but I keep my fingers crossed for it to succeed deservedly, because it seems all these guys need to create a top-notch game is more money. Resident Evil Revelations 2, as a full game, offers a lot of content and has great replay value. Sadly not everything in this package is good, and some parts of the campaign are a bit boring. It's a good game but it's not at the same level as the first Revelations.

Despite its obvious tight budget, Revelations 2 is a much better game than the last offering in the main series, Resident Evil 6.
  12. Capcom doesn’t fund Revelations series properly, so Revelations 2 at times looks too old-fashioned and underpolished, – yet it still manages to be sufficiently tense, difficult and interesting for a series’ fan. [May 2015, p.66]

Like a punchdrunk heavyweight in the 15th round, Revelations 2 is both a sad echo of former glory and an agonizingly perfect summation of it. It should have been over long ago, but it remains a marvel to see how much will remains in the slouching goliath, the once powerful frame of sculpted muscle and sinew slowly turned into dead weight, counting as a victory anything that keeps it on its feet for another round.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 must be played with a second person, preferably someone who doesn't mind having a passive support role. It's easier to appreciate the story and gameplay, which aren't half bad, when you don't have to switch between characters all the time.

Best co-op franchise without co.op. The game is made for two players yet it doesn't support it. Pre-purchased only for split-screen co-opBest co-op franchise without co.op. The game is made for two players yet it doesn't support it. Pre-purchased only for split-screen co-op witch was promised and included in previous games. You can't even play the story online, you can only play the microtransaction hell that should be free if they really want to justify selling ingame stuff. If they add co-op ill buy it again, now I'm returning my copy. Someone in the USA should sue them for false advertising, in my country you cant sue **** Full Review »

REvelations 2 brings series back to its roots. Definitely a huge plus for the franchise on long run. This is what fans were looking for. FastREvelations 2 brings series back to its roots. Definitely a huge plus for the franchise on long run. This is what fans were looking for. Fast paced action horror game. Not too many puzzles though, but still good title to spend several hours trying to beat it on highest difficulty level. Your skills have huge impact on your performance, it's a great plus for survival game. I'd gave it 9, however after seeing rivers of negative reviews due to lack of co-op online in campaign I must pull that up to 10. Controls are good, even with such a large number of action keys. Music and sound are on top level - just put your headphones on and enjoy the horror REvelations 2 has to offer. Full Review »

However the optimization is horrible, and still plagues the game all the way through to episode 3. EP3 is by far the worse optimized one of the lot so far, here is to hoping Capcom finally decides to bring the game to the year 2015 at least FPS wise. I've given the game an 8 only because of Capcoms sloppiness. Options have settings in em which have absolutely no effect in the game itself, yes that is correct turning things to lowest does absolutely nothing to the characters or the environment. They are there only for show. Full Review »
