    this game is resident evil 4 but 70% worse everything u loved in resident evil 4 like the level encounters boss fights inventory enemy desings and levels is way worse in this game its very dissapointing game

    Its an okay easy coop action game, but a terrible Resident Evil, no atmosphere, no charm at all.
    While Ashley was a cute damsel that followed-stayed out of your way and basically was your main goal, Sheva is an infuriating useless braindead AI partner that gets on your way every single opportunity she can, and i mean it, she will physically block you from running when you need to,    Its an okay easy coop action game, but a terrible Resident Evil, no atmosphere, no charm at all.
    While Ashley was a cute damsel that followed-stayed out of your way and basically was your main goal, Sheva is an infuriating useless braindead AI partner that gets on your way every single opportunity she can, and i mean it, she will physically block you from running when you need to, stand in front of you while you are trying to aim, or die to the last infected and make you restart the whole level, all this for a character that serves no purpose in the story at all, might as well just been a guide that gets killed in the first stage.
    Every transition in this game is awful because you have to either wait for Sheva to open doors or its some stupid movie that gives you no sense of continuity, the levels are small and streamlined, the whole thing had the coop as the main focus.
    While Leon had personality, Chris doesnt, they ruined this in RE4 remake too.
    While every other Resident Evil was set at night in some place with great architecture, this is set in some sunny **** with nothing interesting to look at.    … Expand

    Although Resident Evil 5 does not look like a Resident Evil game, It is very good TPS shooting game. It's very fun to play co-op.

В плане графики выглядит хорошо, постановка роликов крутая. Сюжетец традиционно сумбурный, опять новые типы вирусов, опять биоугроза мирового масштаба. Но да Вескера лайк, мужик мега харизматичный и хотелось побольше роликов с ним.

    Excelente, cuota máxima de acción ya por superar el límite y salirse del survival horror cosa que la empresa jamas deberia haber hecho (esa parte es crítica). A pesar de que es muy criticado por ese punto en particular, es más parecido al RE4 de lo que parece, solo hay que dejar el fanatismo de lado para poder verlo. Excelentes juegos ambos tanto el 4 como este RE5.

    I'm finishing it for the 2nd time. I played 8-9 years ago. Since I loved Resident Evil 4 so much, I guess I liked 5 in those years. But when I played it now, I saw that it was at least as bad as the 6th game. And I understand the bad reviews now. The fact that there was a lot of action in the game did not piss me off that much, leaving the RE formula that we know. It's the ridiculous bossI'm finishing it for the 2nd time. I played 8-9 years ago. Since I loved Resident Evil 4 so much, I guess I liked 5 in those years. But when I played it now, I saw that it was at least as bad as the 6th game. And I understand the bad reviews now. The fact that there was a lot of action in the game did not piss me off that much, leaving the RE formula that we know. It's the ridiculous boss designs that really piss me off. Let's talk about bosses;
    1_) First boss I think "uroboros" : We need to burn it in the oven, right? I put it in the oven and blast its weak points, but the boss just doesn't stop. And when I get out of the oven and try to press the button, it's already out of the oven. I struggled a lot. Turns out, it was necessary to roll out of the oven just as the door was closing. How would I know that the first time? I found it difficult.
    2_) U-8 Spider: It's a boss I'd probably struggle with for hours if I didn't remember it the first time I played it. You have to take granade in your hand and you have to throw it into the mouth of the boss while you have it. Of course, for this you need to drop the boss first. How many players can easily understand that a bomb is going to be thrown into the boss's mouth?

    Amazing game from RE series. As Chris is my favourite character along with Leon, I enjoyed the story, weapons, graphics and fighting style - finishers are amazing.

Сейчас бы в эту игру я не рекомендовал бы играть, поскольку есть прекраснейший ремейк 2 и 3 части, которые на голову выше данного произведения, и которые демонстрируют обитель зла во всей красе. Как по мне, игра не проходит проверку временем, сейчас она ощущается, как хорошая игра, котоаря была популярна и играбельна в 2009 году.… Expand

    The game in coop is really fun. Only those quick time events can get annoying like why someone thought its good idea to put A and D for quick time events and sometimes F and V (obviously on console its better but on pc its horrible). The camera control is also pretty bad, but overall i really enjoyed the game with my friend.

It has really bad controls, like seriously... you can’t move while reloading or shooting and you can be easily smashed in da face by something, that will almost kill you, if you’re not keeping proper distance from enemy. Next thing is, you can’t run backwards or to the sides, you can just walk, which is also pretty annoying. You have to move yourRE 5 is good action game in overall, BUT!     Coop is in the main campaign is cool and makes it TOO easy, but in the other modes I didn't see much fun.

    Admittedly, I had fun with how over-the-top Resident Evil 5 was during my playthrough. But it hides no intention of becoming an action game - a new direction that clashes so detrimentally with its legacy control scheme and clunky horror design.

    Is Resident Evil 5 a good game in 2021? Depends on what you were expecting. Horror? Maybe a little, but it's mostly an action game with great co-op and an arcade-y feel to it.

    The story is OK, the graphics are OK and the Gameplay is fun. I can't tell you how many times I have beaten this game from the beginning and unlocked everything. Even on professional mode the game is a fun time    Is Resident Evil 5 a good game in 2021? Depends on what you were expecting. Horror? Maybe a little, but it's mostly an action game with great co-op and an arcade-y feel to it.

    The story is OK, the graphics are OK and the Gameplay is fun. I can't tell you how many times I have beaten this game from the beginning and unlocked everything. Even on professional mode the game is a fun time WITH A HUMAN PLAYER. The Ally A.I. is pretty darn awful on harder difficulties.

    Anyway, if you want a really FUN, somewhat short, addicting CO-OP game then I can't think of any better game other than Mario games of course. ;)    … Expand

    a trilha sonora consegue deixar o ambiente uiui as vezes.
    os controles são diferente, portanto sempre que eu ficava sem joga por certo tempo eu me esquecia como andar, mas não é algo dificil de lembra.
    porém sem duvida o jogo fica mil vezes melhor com um amigo.

    This game reminds me of my childhood, what a great time, it was nice playing with my friends again and having a time like no other playing mercenaries. BUT PLEASE DAMN Having Sheva as a partner was horrendous. It felt like she was programmed to do whatever you needed her to do and take LONGEST possible path while doing it. Due to its day time appearance and lack of variety in locations IThis game reminds me of my childhood, what a great time, it was nice playing with my friends again and having a time like no other playing mercenaries. BUT PLEASE DAMN Having Sheva as a partner was horrendous. It felt like she was programmed to do whatever you needed her to do and take LONGEST possible path while doing it. Due to its day time appearance and lack of variety in locations I feel like it didn't really stand up to previous games at the time. The puzzles were fun and it was cool wearing different unlockable outfits.

    The story was interesting and it offered a nice close to the chapter that was A.W

    Chris PUNCHED A BOULDER.

    All in all, it was fun to return to the game but it was really annoying at some parts. Took away the scares and replaced them with annoying or boring tasks.    … Expand

    I started the series with this game. I liked it very much. I did not understand why it was not liked. I think it is a nice game even than Resident Evil 4. Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine are my favorite characters in the series

    It good for what it did, but it failed at horror aspect. It's still fun zombie shooter, but overall it's worse than RE4 in every way possible. Bosses were uninspired and boring, game was too short. But it had nice graphics for 2009 game, specially on PC.

    I remembered seeing this game in 2009 as a kid and was very impressed by the graphics.     I remembered seeing this game in 2009 as a kid and was very impressed by the graphics. Then 11 years have passed and just only starting my campaign, thinking the graphics would somehow disappoint me. But turns out I was wrong, The appeal was still there like when I first saw it and it was fantastic.

    The story wasn't that exceptional and more like just a branch of the world of Resident Evil. There are also some turns of event that you can easily see far ahead from the start. Gameplay-wise, Combats & Controls wasn't that far from RE4. Sadly, manual savings were missing, which eliminate the purpose of backtracking: making the game very linear - level to level.

    I've only played this alone, so my experience with a companion is either hit or miss depending on the levels. This is a big improvement from Ashley to a partner who can actually help in combat. Item management is a bit different, And from my experience of it - It was between hard & annoying especially when you're overwhelmed by enemies. They also amp up the button sequence which I don't know what to feel about.

    Altogether, RE5 tried their best to tweak and improve some mechanics from RE4. However, this entry just lacks two things that make my whole experience bland: 1st - A whole cast of characters that wasn't even memorable. 2nd - Absence of horror elements.     This "action movie" about zombies, which is became very different from the main idea of the whole story about resident evil got very tired for me by the middle, and became very predictable because of these boring clichés.

    Some of the best action games to play coop, very different from the classic ps1 trilogy, if you are looking for classic puzzle and horror from the beginning of the series, this is not the ideal game. But it is still a great game with an exceptional villain, in my opinion it is worth checking out.

    While visually RE5 definetly shows its age, the art style still holds up and presents a dark, gritty moody looking game with suitable atmosphere for a horror experience, that takes you to different kind of places, from gritty urban areas, to swampy african tribe lands, to a Tomb Raideresque lost city and others. Chris, Sheva and other main characters are really well modeled and animated, and cutscenes are executed nicely aswell, with excellent motion capture and acting that look more than convincing even compared to modern games. But also regarding cutscenes, they trigger my OCD because characters always use the default side arm in them, even when i have bought and equipped different weapons for Chris and Sheva, nitpick for most people, but it annoys me when games ignore details like that. While, normally, im not a person who complains about narrow FOV in games, in RE5 it kind of got to me, whether the FOV in the game is as it is for the game design, horror aspects or a draw back regarding limitations of consoles, that made its way into the PC version, there were times i wish i could've adjuted it just to make it bit wider.

    While im normally not a particular fan of tankish, slow controls in games, in RE5 it kind of felt alright for me. Granted it took getting used to and it wasnt all perfect even when i did, as when fighting large groups of enemies things can go FUBAR real quick, as some types of them are quite the bullet sponges. Im torn on the stop to shoot combat design. On one hand i understand it helps building tension and make yourself grounded in order to not be overly capable. On the other hand, it sort of goes against the game's action focused gameplay design. I feel giving the player minimal movement ability while shooting would've been a good compromise. Otherwise, combat feels reasonably satisfying, with hefty feeling to the guns and their impact on enemies, and with blowing their heads off, which sometimes isnt a good idea as they can turn into more powerful enemies. The biggest problem for me was how inventory management during gameplay is real time, i just dont understand the brains behind this idea, it doesnt help the horror aspect at all, it doesnt add urgency, it adds only frustration when you need to manage your stuff while neck deep into fighting zombies, managing inventory should always put the gameplay on pause. Your AI partner is quite capable in combat and in supporting you, but outside of combat they tend to get in your way as you travel about, stumbling in your path too often. RE5 is also riding way too much on QTE sequences, i dont mind having them time to time during a game, but too much is too much, especially when they require 2 key execution, at times it really pissed me off and some of them really feel cheap as you fail them.

    Story was an enjoyable thrill ride i got to say. However a plot twist regarding a certain character was observable from a mile away, though it didnt hurt story matters really. The main antagonist is really cool and slick, but the very final boss encounter was pretty confusing, as i had no idea what was the correct approach to it, only after dying like...12 times, i had that ''gotcha'' revelation. Speaking of boss fights, they rely too much on the ''shoot the glowing spot'', something of a trend among Capcom's games at the time, judge it as you will. The 2 DLC missions that are included in Gold Edition of RE5 offer 2 - 2,5 hours of extra story content that tie into the base game's narrative and overall are worthwhile additions.

    I was utterly dumbfounded that the game was a target of nonsensical racism allegations from insanely idiotic, disingenuous political activists and their like minded tools masquerading as games journalists who have no idea what the hell they are talking about, nor who have any idea what actual racism looks like. Just because a game is set in Africa and you have to kill infected natives who arent even in control of their own actions, doesnt make the game racist. Besides, RE5 already features plenty of anti-colonialist, anti-corporate themes within its story. Just highlighting that people, who are making these ludicrous claims, dont care about context. Its a shame that for no good reason RE5's reputation has been marred by these moronic, vile people who are into it just for the clout chasing among their regressive ideological echo chambers, and who dont actually care about the complex issues they pretend to care about.

    Resident Evil 5, despite of some issues, overall still is a very good and enjoyable action-horror game even nearly 11 years later, and even if you're a first time player.    … Expand

    Graphics and sound are very good for its time and still hold up. More importantly, co-op is very good. No, this is not another example of “any game is better with co-op”. RE5 was designed to make co-op enjoyable and it is meant to play that way. On the other hand, there are quite a bit of the annoying QTEs, one of the most tedious gameplay mechanics ever invented. I would not say the story is very interesting and the ending drags a bit. However, the game keeps you engaged in the story, thanks to the awesome cinematics. There are many well made cutscenes in this game that are enjoyable to watch in their own Japanese exaggerated way.

    Overall, Resident Evil 5 is worth a co-op playthrough, especially if you approach it with expectations different from what you would set for a Resident Evil game, and try to enjoy it for what it is.

    PS: Don’t skip the "Lost in Nightmares" DLC. It plays like Resident Evil 1 and is overall a very good DLC, definitely better than the main game. Desperate Escape DLC, on the other hand, is nothing special.

    It was my first game to Xbox 360 and I played a lot of times. The game is very beautiful for the release date and have a good story (there's some mistakes, but still a good story). The problem is: the horror has gone. You don't feel the fear that you used to feel when played RE4 for the first time, because the game barely doesn't have a night level to be honest. And seriously, enemies using AK-47?

You are Chris Redfield, a white man now on steroids, in Africa and you punch black people to death. Black people in this game are pictured as being hostile, primitive, barbaric, even when not infested. You can't combine treasures anymore so it's a downgrade from RE4. The puzzles are repetitive, unoriginal. Sometimes it feels like a low-quality Zelda game instead of Resident Evil. As a long time Resident Evil fan, who can't wait for RE2 Remake, I DO NOT recommend RE5. You will be disappointed. 4 out of 10 from me.… Expand

    Todos sus aspectos son bastante sólidos, pero no brilla en ninguno. Su historia y ambientación me da bastante pereza, creo que no es la más adecuada y había infinitas mejores opciones. Una duración muy adecuada para este tipo de géneros.

    The controls make this game almost unplayable; the argument that being able to move and shoot at the same time would 'take away tension'? Clearly these people have not played Dead Space or similar games - absolutely TERRIFYING to play, yet you can still walk while aiming. Combined with mantatory Games For Windows Live installation with the game, this is a very no bueno package.

    But what did you expect from a name like "Resident Evil"? It was acceptable with the first game, since it took place in a mansion. Then they moved to a whole city, and then a country; now it's set in the African continent, and we really should've gotten the memo with the second game.

    So, Resident Evil 5. What's new? Well, this is the first RE title with co-op; which means that you better play this with a friend, or suffer the consequences of an unreliable AI, which serves the same purpose as Lydia from Skyrim: carrying extra baggage. Do you remember how to conserve ammo in RE4? You either run through the ganado horde, or stagger them with a bullet, then come up close with the knife, right? Now there are new melee mechanics, where you can deal damage if you're close to a staggered (or grounded) enemy. Thanks to that, the knife has been relegated to the role of box cutter. The manual save typewriters and the item box had been replaced by a checkpoint system and end-chapter shop respectively. Overall, it's almost the same as RE4, with fine-tuned mechanics to support the faster-paced, action-oriented gameplay.

    Este fue el primer resident evil en irse por las ramas y convertirse en un MATA-MATA. Este juego consta en ir superando niveles y avanzando en la historia matando todo lo que se te cruza en el camino. NO MALINTERPRETEN, es un juego muy decente y muy entretenido, pero supuestamente es "Survival Horror"; y como no cumple en lo más mínimo con eso, le doy un 7.

    Following the footsteps of Resident Evil 4 this game is both a little better and a little worse. Still fun to play though annoying at times as it's predecessor.

    The story happens five years after the events in Resident Evil 4 and you play as Chris Redfield. You with your partner are sent to Africa to track down some bio-terrorist and the story goes from there. You encounter Las Plagas    Following the footsteps of Resident Evil 4 this game is both a little better and a little worse. Still fun to play though annoying at times as it's predecessor.

    The story happens five years after the events in Resident Evil 4 and you play as Chris Redfield. You with your partner are sent to Africa to track down some bio-terrorist and the story goes from there. You encounter Las Plagas or some kind of it's mutation (was not really paying that much attention) that again turns people into zombie like creatures. Those are not as previously as zombies but you wouldn't tell a difference. Though would a zombie ride a bike? I think not. The story is pretty nice and takes you through a lot of well designed zones.

    On graphical side the game has much improved. From being dark and gray in previous title the pallet shifts to yellow and gray - thus quite nicely giving the African feel. The models are much better detailed and it's quite the step up comparing to the previous one.

    Gameplay has not changed all that much though there are changes. First of - they've added strafing - that helps a lot! Secondly as this game is mostly designed for co-op play you are stuck with a partner which wastes ammo, though heals you a lot making it really hard to die. It's a shame you can't play without the partner. The game structure at first really reminds of the previous game. You are thrown into the most hard part of the game within the first half an hour. At least that was my feeling.

    The weapon shops were removed in favour of what might be load-out menu that lets you store and buy items between levels - or when you die. The inventory system has been simplified a lot as well sadly. There are nine slots, no item stacking and arranging as previously. The weapons are pretty cool and feel nice. The electric rod however is so overpowered for regular zombies that it feels like game braking.

    As with previous game I did enjoy fighting zombies and doing QTEs - not so much keen on the boss fights. Though those might be a bit easier than in RE4. Still played till the end and had enough fun to recommend.    … Expand

    Maybe my favorite Resident Evil/Bio Hazard title.

    Graphically it did a big jump forward from RE4 to 5. I also really enjoyed the African settings.
    With the US Air-force costume mod, Sheva even turns into my favorite RE chic!

    The only points I disliked were that you cant move while aiming and the late release of the DLC for the PC version.

    El juego en sí no es nada difícil, excepto cuando quieres pasartelo en nivel profesional, ahi si que se sufre, un golpe o un disparo y quedas en estado agónico, que ahora se consume excesivamente rápido y sheva tendrá un segundo para poder curarte, el problema es que aquí si que se nota su torpeza que incluso estando a tu lado no te cura y mueres, es algo frustrante jeje.

    El juego si que tiene replay value, muchas armas por sacar, otras por comprar, tesoros por encontrar, emblemas de la bsaa, ofrece harto ahí, y de la nada empecé a querer sacar todos los logros y lo conseguí jaja.

    Bueno finalmente creo que para cualquiera que le gusta la Saga de RE debería jugarlo. Para quien busca un buen shooter en tercera persona con elementos de zombies, este también es una buena opción.

    Esta versión incluye dos minicampañas del modo historia, que fueron añadidas en descargas de pago para videoconsola. Además de misiones y personajes extra en el modo mercenarios. Destacaré directamente la diferencia más notable con videoconsola. Si tu pc tiene suficiente potencia, esta versión es clarísimamente mejor versión que cualquiera aparecida en XBOX 360 o    RE:5 Gold Edition.

    Esta versión incluye dos minicampañas del modo historia, que fueron añadidas en descargas de pago para videoconsola. Además de misiones y personajes extra en el modo mercenarios.

    Destacaré directamente la diferencia más notable con videoconsola. Si tu pc tiene suficiente potencia, esta versión es clarísimamente mejor versión que cualquiera aparecida en XBOX 360 o PS3.

    En videoconsola funcionaban a 720p y 30fps y en PC, pueden correr perfectamente a 1080p y 60fps estables. Claro que es un videojuego del 2010. Sin embargo técnicamente luce de maravilla.

    El sonido es en inglés pero puedes subtitularlo a castellano.

    El modo historia es bastante interesante, bien guionizado, y hay pocos "quick time events" aunque los hay.

    Quizás como punto un poco negativo, es el comportamiento de tu compañera de viaje, un poco más tosco de lo deseable, aunque tampoco resulta grave.

    Aparte del modo historia, tenemos el modo 'Mercenarios', el cual se trata de una contrarelog donde vas sumando puntos por 'estilo' y 'víctimas' antes de que consumas el tiempo...

    ...todo un reto, sobretodo en el modo (exclusivo en PC) "SIN PIEDAD", donde, directamente eres tu contra el mundo...

    ...una auténtica multitud, si multitud. Muy entretenido y dificil.

Also the framerate is no problem, the engine is very optimized and I can run this maxed out in DX10 easily.     It’s a good game and I would recommend adding to your play list. It could be better as it is a bit repetitive, has a few technical problems, but I’m happy with it nonetheless.

Because this is an amazing co-op game, in a universe I already loved! If I were to judge this asI'll just say I've been playing this series since RE1, so I have a good understanding of the series. If I were to judge this as a game without a friend, I wouldn't say anything amazing about it, but because I've played through it 5+ times with 5 different friends, I can tell you each experience has been a blast to play, and different each time.

    Resident Evil 5 just feels right with a friend. Upgrading your weapons is fun, collectibles are fun, the swapping items between your partner is extremely useful, and all the co-op features are just a blast. I highly recommend playing this game on the hardest settings, the extra challenge with a friend makes it very intense and fun.    … Expand

    Resident evil 5 is an excellent follow on for the series, improved mechanics, story telling and overall quality. Capcom should be proud of this beauty! Cannot wait for the sequel! If you hated the originals you will not enjoy this.

    The AI is braindead stupid, the inventory system is crap, the story is beyond insane and cheesy to hell, and a whole list of other problems.

    But I played chris redfield.

    And I punched the HELL out of that boulder.

    This is not only a whole different Resident Evil, but one that lacks the suspense as well. I couldn't stand the derpy AI partner (I understand it's meant to be co-op, but sometimes even a derpy AI bot can be more useful than a lagging troll or what have you) and the boss fights were mainly tedium. The story was watered down, the enemies were bullet sponges unless you always get headshots,This is not only a whole different Resident Evil, but one that lacks the suspense as well. The story was watered down, the enemies were bullet sponges unless you always get headshots, and since I played with mouse/keyboard on PC Capcom added a heavier "breathing" effect on the crosshair, making for extremely irritating ammo waste on little scrublings that should only need 1-3 bullets at most. There are really too many things to mention that bother me about this game's formula, like how you can buy weapons but not ammo, and you can literally quit in the middle of a mission and save your "equipment status...." What is that? Capcom, do you really want me to have to backtrack to previous chapters just to farm ammo for the next big boss, or to farm gold for that upgrade because you aren't doing quite enough damage to proceed? That's not survival-horror, that's not even action-adventure... It's like Re5: World of Warcraft Edition. Couple of pros: good graphics, decent action, cool-looking bosses. Otherwise, this is just an on-rails yawnfest with plenty to complain about. I'll go back to playing Re1, 2, 3, and 4... The rest have been terrible.… Expand

    A fun game that suffers from a horrible glitch on the final level where you can't kill the boss unless you have 2 players (idiot bot can't distract the boss for you). Also, poor hit detection at times.

    Hmmm... FOV of 15 degrees? One third of the screen covered by the main character? Another third by the "partner" who gets in the way, steals precious bullets, and can't shoot anything in the head? Childish story line? Zombies (again!)? Unbearable controls? Boring gameplay? Funky green cross hair?
    I think i'll give this a 5.

La duración del juego es de 6/8 horas y tiene bastantes errores y fallos. De todas formas cumple, pero deja mucho que desear respecto a anteriores entregas.     El entorno del juego es malo. Para el uso cambio de armas es muy difícil y los monstruos no tienen muchas variable. Jugabilidad pésima. No se compara con su versión anterior. Esperaba un poco más.

    This is the best pc port ever make from CAPCOM (together with Devil may cry 4). I don't care those people that like the origins RE, I like it this way better (but not RE 6, that's super SUCK).     Game is with out a doubt NOT meant for pc. Controls are clumsy and it can get frustrated at times. But both me and my friend enjoyed playing the game together. Even made us buy two more resident evil games.

    Goddamn clunky action with a crazy ass story with annoying characters and a flawed AI companion that i just wanna punch to death, pros kinda feels like an actiony resident evil, somebadass enemy AI(giant rapist squid) also the setting is rather interesting yet besides that it is probably the worst res besides Operation Raccoon City and Res 6

    Overall, if you can put up with DRM and GFWL headaches, and don't mind risking losing your save games and progress - or at least having them tethered and more complicated than they need to be - Resident Evil 5 for the PC is probably the version to get.
