    This is literally the worst Resident Evil game of all times. I hated it so darn much. Its pure trash not only as a resident evil game but as a game.

    Why? here is Why! -Pure **** shooting. -The game is very repetitive. -Controls are horrible. -Level design is very poor. -ugly atmosphere. -Boring story. -Stupid boss fights and zombies. -Bad colors.     Yazacak bir şey bulamıyorum. İlk defa bu yorumu yazdığımda oyun aklımda oyun olarak kalmış. Tüm seriyi tekrar oynayınca 5 ve 6'ya da tekrar bir bakayım dedim. Bunu nasıl oynamışım şu an aklım dahi almıyor.

    this game is very ok,but there are 2 things that just make it bad: fake zombies and bits where you do what it says and you get killed. i mean, there not zombies, ther flippin africans. and all that easy stuff like press a button or move a analog stick to survive, if you do it you die. if capcom are gonna make resi 6 like this, the should'nt bother.

    Game for Windows Live + dreadful controls + a dimwit NPC who wastes all her ammo at the first opportunity and needs to be micromanaged when carrying out the simplest of tasks (best example: needing to be told to use one of three available gun turrets during a boss fight) + restricted camera angle + boring plot + terrible voice acting + poorly designed menus + overall lazy port from consoleGame for Windows Live + dreadful controls + a dimwit NPC who wastes all her ammo at the first opportunity and needs to be micromanaged when carrying out the simplest of tasks (best example: needing to be told to use one of three available gun turrets during a boss fight) + restricted camera angle + boring plot + terrible voice acting + poorly designed menus + overall lazy port from console + ludicrous biceps = an unbelievably frustrating PC gaming experience.

    This game seems to be designed for those who don't want to think and don't want any real kind of freedom when playing computer games. Having just played through Half Life 2: Episode 2 and Portal 2, Resident Evil 5 just felt like a gigantic step backwards and seems to be purely aimed at slack jawed finger twiddling console jockeys.

    I have no idea how this has a score of 86 on Metacritic. IGN gave it 9.3! Madness!

    When the original Resident Evil was released on the Playstation, it was ranked one of the most frightening games ever made. Skip ahead almost twelve years to the release of Resident Evil 5 and take a look at where the series has gone. Over time, Resident Evil has lost its horror feel and replaced it with an action-adventure element that makes it feel more like Uncharted rather than RE. When the original Resident Evil was released on the Playstation, it was ranked one of the most frightening games ever made. Skip ahead almost twelve years to the release of Resident Evil 5 and take a look at where the series has gone. Over time, Resident Evil has lost its horror feel and replaced it with an action-adventure element that makes it feel more like Uncharted rather than RE. Let's take a look at the game itself. Gameplay is lame, a watered down RE4 style at best, controls feel too ackward and messy to be playable, and the graphics look like they belong in a game from 2007. However, the biggest problems I had wtih Resident Evil 5 is its atmosphere and how the game is "played." In past Resident Evil titles, everything was creepy and was set at night or in a disturbing setting, but not in 5, oh no. The game is for the most part sunny and ~*alive!*~ It doesn't feel at all like Resident Evil AT ALL. At least 4 kept the distrubing and creepy feel, even if it had a cheesy Hollywood style ending. The worst thing about this game is that the game is far too simple for an RE game and makes no effort even to try to be like the previous titles. There are no zombies, you can barely carry any ammo, there is no merchant or place where you can keep your supplies, and instead of being a "full" game, there are levels instead, which are obviously made for casuals who only want to get achievements or trophies. All in all, the game isn't worth $20 or even $10 for that matter. I'd recommend staying as far away from this one as possible. Only get this if you haven't ever played the Resident Evil series. If you have and haven't yet played anything after Code Veronica, I'd recommend 4 over this hulking pile of piss-poor casuality any day.… Expand

    Don't buy this **** Don't rely on paid reviews. This is not a PC game. The mouse control implementation is extremely poor. Mouse sensitivity changes when you walk and every time the buggy braindead console port fails to catch an exception. And since the porting "engineers" bought their credentials on some webpage, they cannot even understand how to patch it.

    One word: Trash. I played RE 1,2 and 3 when the game was actually cool, with zombies and that dark atmosphere and mystery. When I see RE5 on Steam for sale I was excited to play the franchise once again. Well...the game changed DRAMATICALLY (to worse), there are no zombies at all, you just shot some dudes (mostly black people from Africa it seems, no racism intended in this comment).One word: Trash. I played RE 1,2 and 3 when the game was actually cool, with zombies and that dark atmosphere and mystery. When I see RE5 on Steam for sale I was excited to play the franchise once again. Well hes using steroids now, you will often confuse him with Vin Diesel instead of the good old cop Chris, at first you will think hes coming from a CoD squad. I feel the obligation to write this review, if you played the old RE's don't waste your money with RE5, you not gonna like it. Overall a poor game, poor console port. Can't talk about multiplayer, haven't played it yet but I don't think it can do much better.… Expand

The learn to play argument doesn't cut it when it seems I have to be psychic to anticipate what I need to be doing well ahead of time and mash the key to do it wildly with the hope that it actually happens. I am not complaining about the mechanic of not being able to shoot and run. I played and enjoyed RE1,2,3, and Veronica once upon a time. I am complaining about the lack ofUnplayable. I am complaining about the lack of ability for my character to do the basic tasks of moving when asked, or stopping and shooting. The controls are the same as the old Residents but this time the enemies and creatures of the game are updated to work with another type of control scheme and not the proper normal Resident Evil one that 4 worked so well with. Tedious, set pieces abound, no atmosphere, no "haunting" story like the previous games, there is just nothing to say that this game is a Resident Evil game. If you happen to be a fan of the series do yourself a favor and avoid this piece of crap. If you are new to the series then there are better action games out there than RE5. Simple as this. If RE5 was my first Resident Evil game ever i would rate it a 6 for the badly implemented mechanics. As a RE games however it fails miserably and it falls way short of the one RE game it tries to stand taller from and thats number 4. For a true Resident Evil fan the game ends at number 4. I couldn't stand the derpy AI partner (I understand it's meant to be co-op, but sometimes even a derpy AI bot can be more useful than a lagging troll or what have you) and the boss fights were mainly tedium. The story was watered down, the enemies were bullet sponges unless you always get headshots,This is not only a whole different Resident Evil, but one that lacks the suspense as well. I couldn't stand the derpy AI partner (I understand it's meant to be co-op, but sometimes even a derpy AI bot can be more useful than a lagging troll or what have you) and the boss fights were mainly tedium. The story was watered down, the enemies were bullet sponges unless you always get headshots, and since I played with mouse/keyboard on PC Capcom added a heavier "breathing" effect on the crosshair, making for extremely irritating ammo waste on little scrublings that should only need 1-3 bullets at most. There are really too many things to mention that bother me about this game's formula, like how you can buy weapons but not ammo, and you can literally quit in the middle of a mission and save your "equipment status...." What is that? Capcom, do you really want me to have to backtrack to previous chapters just to farm ammo for the next big boss, or to farm gold for that upgrade because you aren't doing quite enough damage to proceed? That's not survival-horror, that's not even action-adventure... It's like Re5: World of Warcraft Edition. Couple of pros: good graphics, decent action, cool-looking bosses. Otherwise, this is just an on-rails yawnfest with plenty to complain about. I'll go back to playing Re1, 2, 3, and 4... The rest have been terrible.… Expand

    It has potential, but has so many basic design flaws. You'd think after four previous versions of the game, they would get things right. Different mouse sensitivities depending on if you are running or walking causes dizziness. The ability to buy guns and not ammo just represents a bad design decision. Capcom has upped the graphics of its franchise but compared with other third-person shooters the controls are simply archaic.     I'm sorry to say that they utterly FAILED on bringing this great game onto the PC. The only player movement that DIDN'T piss me off was simple walking. Yes, walking. The thing you do the least. They added the worlds most annoying target-circle movement there is on top of an very awkward 3d person view along with 3x as many zombies.     Controls are horrible with keyboard + mouse but i suspect it's the same bad on game-pad. You have to hold a button to aim and you can't **** move while aiming. Ridiculous. Camera is horrible. I cannot understate just how annoying it is to have to stop, aim, shoot. turn, stop, aim, shoot, turn e.t.c every time you're in the middle of fighting off the vast number of enemies that get hurled at you. There is absolutely no fluidity to the game play and it feels incredibly awkward. Capcom should have learnt by now that there are better ways of creating tension than having an awful, broken control system (see Silent Hill). Its just plain bad game design on their part, and is inexcusable considering they had finally arrived at such a good system in Resi 4. Although the co-op element did turn out to work surprisingly well, I can't help but feel that the series has fallen into a lame action-adventure style, which completely undermines the horror aspect of the earlier games and is obviously aimed at a more casual gamer audience. Although the story line and acting have never been the strong point of this series I can't say I really engaged with the story at all whilst playing. This was mainly due to the disjointedness of the game, which has been inexplicably cut into very short sections. Resident Evil shouldn't ever have stages, it just breaks any of the tension and the game would have been better served by the old save game rooms which acted as a respite, but didn't take you to a pointless menu system with a score for each completed section, I don't want to be graded in the middle of a game, least of all a supposed 'horror' game. I would also find it very difficult to find any part of this game which I was actually scared by, and it quickly evolved into a run, shoot, heal affair which was about as boring as I can imagine a game to be. Do not go near this game if you're a fan of the series, or survival horror, or even action adventure. To be honest, just don't go near it.… Expand

    I registered with metacritic just so I could say how much I HATE this game. The controls are awful, combat is terrible, you often stand around waiting for a zombie to hit you. The 3rd person view is terrible, and game play is so inanely easy that it isn't worth playing. The only thing that makes this game difficult is the fact that you are playing a crippled doufus who can't get out ofI registered with metacritic just so I could say how much I HATE this game. The controls are awful, combat is terrible, you often stand around waiting for a zombie to hit you. The 3rd person view is terrible, and game play is so inanely easy that it isn't worth playing. The only thing that makes this game difficult is the fact that you are playing a crippled doufus who can't get out of his own way. You are surrounded by zombie/infected and the best you can do is wait for the game to decide that you can take a punch, often times you can't take the shot because you had just turned or tried to hobble away. I made it as far as the furnace room where torch the squid/blob/worm thing. It was so stupidly easy to figure out how to destroy the monster, sadly it took me 10 minutes to get the timing "just right". AWFUL AWFUL GAME...stay away. Deleting this PoS and sad I wasted $15 on it. The only redeeming quality is I didn't pay full price.… Expand

    This game totally sucks, You have only 10 ammo for your pistol against 20 Zombies who need 2 shoots to kill them. You have also melee attack but you CAN'T walk in that mode. And you can only use special attacks when there is a calling.
    Fairness I have to say ich have the PC version, which is totally crap. This game totally sucks for PC

I'm sick and tired of interactive movies that are called "games", I'm sick and tired to push buttons that appear on the screen or see the "you were owned" screen and have to play again. Just give me **** movie instead, that I can actually enjoy without being pissed at the AI or lack of ammo or gimmickly appearing binds to click faster than my reaction timesThis is not even a game.     This game, from killing zombies to monsters, and human.... The first series was one of the best games with really neat ideas, settings and storyline. But now.... the 5th came out.... it is really stupid because this is too repetitive for me... I didnt get this game but I played it at my cousins house and my cousin said that he wants a refund... and it does not worth $60 at ALL.

С мышки .... это ...[мат].. сенса то быстрая, то медленная. Перезаряжаться и стрелять только стоя - это кошмар какой-то. Чувствуешь себя стреляющей тумбочкой, особенно убого всё ощущается после игры в L4D2. Просто идиотский АИ напарницы, сама ничего толком не может, так еще и постоянно за ней следить надо и няньчиться. Но самое напрягающее - это НЕОБХОДИМОСТЬ собирать патроны, травки и другую лабуду то в куче компоста, то в ящиках, то ещё где- это невероятный атавизм, это прошлое - так уже просто нельзя делать в 2011 году ) ... да ещё туда же - необходимость что-то покупать, апгрейдить - это рпг или экшен? Всё это очень скушно и тоскливо. Игру забросил, четыре балла за приличную графику. Хотел посмотреть чем закончиться, проиграв когда-то в первые три части, но видно не судьба. В топку!… Expand

    This is the first game I've tried in the series and after an hour of REALLY trying, I'm bitterly disappointed with it because it looks like it could be really awesome but the controls are so abysmally horrible. There is no flow and it's as if the main character has been doused in tree sap that solidifies more and more as the game goes on.

    El entorno del juego es malo. Para el uso cambio de armas es muy difícil y los monstruos no tienen muchas variable. Jugabilidad pésima. No se compara con su versión anterior. Esperaba un poco más.

    Resident Evil 5 is my least favorite RE game this far and I have played 0,1,CVX,4,5,7. More than that, the PC port is horrible. They removed the local coop feature on PC, meaning you can't play with a friend locally, only online. This is a major problem because you are now stuck with an AI ally that has the IQ of an old shoe. This game is heavily dependent on cooperation and sometimes the AI who's working with you is being very stupid, like committing suicide, stopping attacking enemies or wasting all its ammunition, and I pass. There are a few boss fights that are interesting, and that's the only positive thing I found about this game. I could also mention the racism in the game. You are Chris Redfield, a white man now on steroids, in Africa and you punch black people to death. Black people in this game are pictured as being hostile, primitive, barbaric, even when not infested. You can't combine treasures anymore so it's a downgrade from RE4. The puzzles are repetitive, unoriginal. Sometimes it feels like a low-quality Zelda game instead of Resident Evil. As a long time Resident Evil fan, who can't wait for RE2 Remake, I DO NOT recommend RE5. You will be disappointed. 4 out of 10 from me.… Expand

Прошёл за пару дней с другом, прошёл бы и быстрей если бы не клоунские моменты когда нужно много раз жать одну кнопку. Те кто проходил вспомните момент когда деффке нужно было забраться на выступ чтобы не упасть в лаву.

    50/50 es buen títulos gran entretenimiento pero se aleja de lo que nos proponía resident evil originalmente sinceramente se siente mejor que un Resident evil 4 mejores controles un mejor entretenimiento y no amigo no porque Re4 sea infancia significa que sea bueno

    Прошёл игру впервые в 2022 году. В целом, ощущения приятные, сюжет не напрягает, геймплей, в принципе тоже. Для 2009 года красивая графика, хорошая физика оружия. Много разнообразного оружия, немалое разнообразие врагов. Сеттинг мне не по душе, поскольку я не люблю пустыни и всякое такое. Из минусов выделю однотипные локации, душные некоторые боссы. битвы с которыми затягиваются на 30 иПрошёл игру впервые в 2022 году. В целом, ощущения приятные, сюжет не напрягает, геймплей, в принципе тоже. Для 2009 года красивая графика, хорошая физика оружия. Много разнообразного оружия, немалое разнообразие врагов. Сейчас бы в эту игру я не рекомендовал бы играть, поскольку есть прекраснейший ремейк 2 и 3 части, которые на голову выше данного произведения, и которые демонстрируют обитель зла во всей красе. Как по мне, игра не проходит проверку временем, сейчас она ощущается, как хорошая игра, котоаря была популярна и играбельна в 2009 году.… Expand

    Overall, if you can put up with DRM and GFWL headaches, and don't mind risking losing your save games and progress - or at least having them tethered and more complicated than they need to be - Resident Evil 5 for the PC is probably the version to get.
