    Great game but unfortunately Rockstar still don't know how to make a decent PC port. Absolute shambles.

    Terrible port. The performance is really bad considering how well it runs on consoles. There's also a lot of stutters and crashes on day-1. It's pretty sad how this is all Rockstar did in 1 year.

    This game is not fun. Crappy console port controls, character movement is sluggish, and the plot is on rails. It's a big pass for me.

    Beautiful game, good story, but unfortunately the game is not stable. I'm experiencing crashes frequently enough that I'm going to shelve the game until the crashes are fixed. Which probably won't happen from the looks of it.     The performance is not so great either, even on top-spec PC. I have 2080 Ti and 16-core 3950X and can play at high settings in 1440p at 60 fps, but going ultra results in some dips below. 4K at 60 fps just not possible.    … Expand

    I'm going to get the good out of the way first. It has lovely visuals, good acting, good performance, and a story which could possibly become quite interesting along the road.

    Now the bad. This game is a **** mess. The need to make every single action as realistic as possible has made it a slog to play.     Now the bad. This game is a **** mess. The need to make every single action as realistic as possible has made it a slog to play. After about ten hours I looked back at my time with the game and realised I hadn't enjoyed a single minute of it.

    You want to get somewhere fast? Well you can't run in towns. You can't fast travel. You can ride your horse, but if you sprint too much it will throw you off. If you accidentally clip a rock or tree it will throw you off. Now go play in a world FULL of rocks and trees. If you don't brush the horse enough, it won't obey you. Get off the horse at any point to look at something and it will wander off. If it goes too far it won't return when you call for it.

    You want to play a story mission? I hope you're prepared for a long journey to a random destination alongside another character. No, you can't skip it. Yes, you have to press the controls to make your horse travel the entire way, even though you have a set path.

    You want to get on with the plot? Well sorry but you need to make sure your character eats or he will die. You have to have baths or the game will force you. You have to shave. You have to return to camp to change your clothes depending on the randomly generated weather because if it's too sunny and you're wearing a heavy coat, you'll overheat and die.

    You want to hunt? First you have to go through a lengthy tracking section, then you have to sneak up on the animal, shoot it in the right spot or you'll damage the pelt. Then you need to skin it in a lengthy animation, carry the carcass back to your horse, and take it all the way home to sell and craft. If you don't go back quick enough, it will rot and the whole exercise will be pointless. Oh, and only a small fraction of the animals have pristine pelts anyway - the others are worthless.

    Your hat got knocked off during a fight? Spend 30 seconds finding it and picking it up.

    You want to search a house for loot? Awkwardly steer your character towards every drawer and cupboard, then watch the lengthy opening animation, then the animation of collecting each item.

    You want to loot dead bodies after a fight? You need to hold down a button so your character lumbers into the right position, then does a long looting animation. Then you need to do that for EVERY enemy.

    There is not a single element of this game which is not made unpleasant to play by awkward, sluggish, time consuming controls.

    The 2/10 rating I have given it is PURELY for the stunning visuals and acting.

    This game took 2,500 people 8 years and a quarter of a billion dollars to make. And they made a **** mess.    … Expand

    What an abomination, and I was looking forward to this. Terrible performance, game stutters every few minutes even on low settings and crashes/bugs everywhere. Controls clearly designed and ported from console, no thought made for PC. This is a bad console port. Launcher is a **** also.

But what isn't great is that this game was releases in such a broken state which makes one think if Rockstar was actually ready release it or if Greed2 pushed them so more people would play RDO and spend money there. No matter what happened tho, it is NOT acceptable. This isn't some Indie game, this is a triple A game with enough resourcesThe game is great, its just great, solid 8/10.     the game keep crashing So **** Annoying even i got decent rig which i9 9900k and RTX 2070 Super ,16gb ram and also the game installed on my SSD 512gb Samsung 970 Pro NVMe . GOOD JOB ROCKSTAR .. i'd Pay 60$ for broken Game.. DONT BUY THIS **** BROKEN GAME!

    Now at first the story the general gameplay and the world is amazing but the huge problem with this game is the technical part, the port to PC is more some kind of beta.     I am disappointed. I have long been waiting for this game on the PC. The game is good, but the technical execution is terrible. Often freezes for no apparent reason spoil the whole impression. The complete lack of optimization. At the moment, the game is not playable.

    it horrible, because with with i5 7500, gtx1060 and 16gb i had 20 fps. Trying to fixed it I updated nvidia drivers, and now i have another problem - i even can`t run a game!!! unexpected error with exit rockstar launcher.
    Great work guys!!! waste of money which i can`t return

    Ugly ass textures, even at 2.5x resolution scaling. GTA5 scaling is way better with noticable textures upgrade. What a waste of $60. Xbox one x version is better and more optimized. If you are playing on your small 27in monitor then ignore this. Try 50 inch plus tv.

    Gra przycina co chwila na kilka sekund. Raz udało mi się zagrać bez problemów. Kompletnie nie przetestowana przed wydaniem - zastanawiam się nad zwrotem.

    Game doesn't work properly on PC, it has awful optimization and lots of technical problems. I just cannot believe that porting RDR2 on PC took almost a year with such result. I don't recommend buying it until they fix all the problems (this will take more than a couple of weeks I think).

    my biggest beef isn't even with poor optimization or bugs. i run rather high-end system and get good 2K60FPS with no crasher. even if it's on medium and not ultras FOR WHATEVER REASON R*.
    the controls are just awful, aim either do not react to mouse movements or jumps all over the place making precision shooting pretty much impossible. moreover good old Arthur moves around any terrain with    my biggest beef isn't even with poor optimization or bugs. i run rather high-end system and get good 2K60FPS with no crasher. even if it's on medium and not ultras FOR WHATEVER REASON R*.
    the controls are just awful, aim either do not react to mouse movements or jumps all over the place making precision shooting pretty much impossible. moreover good old Arthur moves around any terrain with all the grace and agility of a MARK IV tank stuck in flandrian mud. though the game does look stunning even on high/medium settings, underneath all the graphical Innovation game and mission design haven't evolved one bit since San Andreas, drive to a point, do shooty-shooty, watch cutscene. you can't go off the beaten path, you can't get creative with your tactics, you're not a player you're an actor on a set of a tyrant-director and you will follow the script to a letter, mister! not to mention half the time with all the autorides, autoaims, autodialogues and the rest of "helpful" automated systems it feels like the damn game plays itself! no particupation required.
    I can't believe I'm saying this but this game should've stayed on consoles. it's designed and meant to be played like a pure console game: with controller in one hand and a can of beer in a another, moving one stick and pushing one button    … Expand

    Alright, 2070 super, 16 gb ram and i5 8600k got me 45 fps at 1440p and medium graphics preset (recommended by nvidia actually). And after every patch it seems to be even lower and lower. The game itself is a masterpiece, however, optimization and bugs turned it to a pile of crap. Make rdr2 great again rockstar.

    Red Dead Redemption 2 has some of the most impressive graphics I've seen yet, but the game is completely broken on PC. I have to try multiple times reloading the game due to it crashing 99% of the time I load a save. I have tried talking to support and they told me they have no info on what to do.     "We've reported it to the Rockstar team and are waiting to hear back on a solution.

    This is what I got back from support. A $60 game shouldn't have this many issue, especially from a massive team like Rockstar who had am extra year to make this for PC. I would wait a few months until its fixed and on sale before considering a purchase.    … Expand

    Все работало ровно до того момента как я не полез в настройки графики. Как только вы захотите улучшить графику вы не увидите ее вовсе потому что игра нормально работать не будет. Стоило мне сменить Vulkan на Direct X 12 и все , она не запускается в принципе . Я нашел решение данной проблемы , но почему я должен танцевать с бубном и ковыряться в файлах игры за которую я заплатил неВсе работало ровно до того момента как я не полез в настройки графики. Как только вы захотите улучшить графику вы не увидите ее вовсе потому что игра нормально работать не будет. Стоило мне сменить Vulkan на Direct X 12 и все , она не запускается в принципе . А вернуть деньги за нерабочий продукт я уже не могу , так как проблемы всплыли уже после того как я наиграл 2 часа.     My biggest warning to anyone considering purchasing RDR2 on PC is that you need to have patience when you set it up. Take the time to go through each graphics option, compare your performance on Vulkan vs. DirectX 12, and tailor the game to your specs. Once you have the game tuned, there’s no better way to experience it than on PC.
