    Mediocre performance, multiplayer completely forgotten by rockstar/taketwo (maybe because it doesn't make as much money as its older brother gta 5?), only good thing is the story and gameplay of course. No possiblity to transfer character from console to PC (RDO) so if you're coming from console and wanna play online on pc you have to start from scratch ahahahha

    The game suffers from the typical issue of today's gaming: too easy to the extent that it offers no challenge whatsoever. The story is relatively good, the graphics are beautiful, but the gameplay itself is tedious. The economy is way out of wack, offering way too many items. Now there is no challenge. I don't understand why it's hard for the designers to put in difficulty levels, and ones that are actually challenging.     Auto-aim garbage in online.
    Good in single-player.

    Run's amazing on Rx 5700xt and ryzen 5 3500x - 100+ fps on medium settings.

    After playing for just under 20 hrs I deleted the game from my PC. It's a very good game, but there is absolutely nothing inspiring, engaging or new about it (bear in mind, for me, you may have a completely different perception). So:
    - literal GTA clone in the Wild West

When I finally sit down to play I want the story to be engaging, this one was not. A quick mission to play for a moment is something I can do at a train station waiting 20 minutes for a train.
    - Rockstar as always blew the controls and I genuinely feel no one there ever rode an actual horse.

    I am sorry, I know this is not a good review, but this game just made me feel tired and I had 0 fun with it. If You liked GTA and are a fan of the wild west this will probably be a solid 9 for you at least. For me? Deleted, probably will never return to it, I just feel sorry I cant get a refund anymore.    … Expand

    Most overrated game I've played so far. Yeah, the story and the open world are great but the game is still incredibly frustrating to play. Many things just don't make sense and don't get explained, npcs and enemies are a huge pain in the ass since the world is absolutely overcrowded with them and they seem to see everything and magically communicate with each other in a matter of seconds,Most overrated game I've played so far.     I don't understand the high ratings for this game. The game is boring. The plot is long and drawn out. The world is empty. There are very few activities in the game. The developer has overgrown the online game. For the entire time of the game, the developers did not even try to deal with cheaters in the game.

    RDR2 is all that's great and all that's terrible in modern gaming bundled into a single product.

    First of all, it's not really a game - it's an interactive movie where you are prompted to press buttons at a specific time, that's all. In the course of the campaign none of your choices matter - that is assuming you occasionally do get to make a choice at all.     This has become a real plague these days, probably due to influence of consoles, where controls are limited and achieving real mastery (save for a few genres) is near impossible.

    Ironically, the only time you feel like you're playing a game is... when you're not playing it, just roaming around the beautiful open world. That is the best part of RDR2 - just riding around, exploring, hunting, looking for treasure before returning to the mindless campaign of pressing buttons and, sometimes, shooting bad guys in carefully choreographed scenes that you also have zero influence over.

    The visuals, the atmosphere, landscapes are all phenomenal - really among the best in the open world genre. But the game as a "game" fails in every respect. You never really feel like YOU are playing but rather just ticking boxes in somebody else's scenario.

    Good or evil, consequences of your actions are ultimately the same, as is the conclusion, after which you're really left with nothing to do.

    I spent 100 hours on it, rather enjoyably, but also consistently frustrated that the freedom I was promised is really just a mirage and that I have absolutely no impact on anything.

    You also get the sense that the project overwhelmed the Rockstar team. A good part of the map (30-40%) is pretty much locked out of the main campaign and becomes only accessible in the epilogue when you discover... there's not much to do there. It's like they tried to make something out of it but clearly got pressured by deadlines and left it for dead.

    With time you also realize that crafting stuff makes little sense either and new guns that you unlock later in game don't really add anything new.

    There's really no reward for advancing in either of these verticals - again, as if someone started working on it and left it half baked.

    You'll do well with the first selection of the most powerful pistols and rifles, and only use the rest if it's required to hunt a specific animal. That's it.

    As an open world experience, RDR2 is as good as it gets, 10/10, absolutely fantastic and thoroughly enjoyable. But as a game... well, as I said, it really isn't one. You're just a spectator occasionally asked to press a button as a way to tease you that you have any involvement at all.

    It could have been something much greater.

    In a way, I'd like them to continue working on it and spend the next few years making it into something it could have been.    … Expand

    Even the map itself is badly made (you go from snowy mountains to 30°C Louisiana-style swamps with alligators in 5 min horse-back trips).     The first 1/4 of the game is ok, you get to "build your character" and discover the story. But after that it gets to the "more of the same" stuff, going back and forth on the same paths with the same missions and characters. I guess the devs didn't get to play The Witcher 3...
    I really forced myself to finish the game so i could uninstall it quickly (man those 2 epilogue chapters... i don't know who designed them but he did an awful job :/ i almost gave up at one point)
    And the soundtrack is one of the worst ever made for a high-budget game in recent history.

    So I'm still looking forward to a good epic western game.    … Expand

    I tried it 3 times to play to the end. Could not do it because the game is so awful. It has the WORST pacing in any game ever!! I am a big fan of RDR1 but this one is quite unplayable for me. No fast travel option TO your camp only from your camp WTH R* what where you thinking? Hunting is boring af, fighting is boring af, shooting is even worse - even a monkey could do that.     - western atmosphere
    - large map - graphics - dialogues The bad : - low resolution textures - bad optimization : a few stutters at 4k with a RTX 4090 and a 13900K ! - mission failed if you go too far from the "allowed" area The awful : - "woke" propaganda : feminism and anti-racism are omnipresent and no choice is allowed in these missions. Fed up with this sh*t.    The good :

    Сюжет просто нереально нудный, скучнее ковбоев могут быть только самураи и викинги
    Отсутствие русской локализации тоже сказывается на игровом опыте, я не из любителей пялиться в субтитры, а на слух тут язык почему-то воспринимается намного труднее, чем во многих других играх

    This is great game, probably one of the best open world games I've ever played, but it's technical state on PC is so horrible that its hard to enjoy playing this game.

Going from WASD to move and then use arrows to navigate then use Enter key accept, and interacting with anything kept switching from f, space to whatever. But then comes first bummer - Price. It is in Poland 300zł when games cost around 160-240 zł it is a much bigger price for a 1-year-old game then for new AAA games that are coming out. I was hyped so I bought it. Release day, IHonestly, I was hyped for this game. I'm PC player, so I had to wait 1 year longer. When there was finally info that RDR 2 is coming for PC I Was really excited. But then comes first bummer - Price. It is in Poland 300zł when games cost around 160-240 zł it is a much bigger price for a 1-year-old game then for new AAA games that are coming out. I was hyped so I bought it. Release day, I was in the group of peoples that cannot start a game on day 1 even after using lots of guides from the yt. then comes the second day when the second - different error appeared. I didn't have the will to do something about it. But today after 3 days from release day I Could finally play game that I was awaiting. And you know what? I didn't liked it... It starts with boring snow map, quests are slow, controls aren't bad, but they don't good either. Critics were calling the graphic is out of this world and I just can't see that. I'm not playing it on ultra but on high and in this snowy theme I just can't see this. After 3 h of playing, I turned it off bored and exhausted. I will come back, I want to give this game a second chance, but I have to recover from everything that happened.… Expand

Рекорд игры 1 час 11 минут, самое длительное пребывание в игре. Мне игра заявляет вдруг, что у меня на хватает оперативки... Я бы согласился, если бы у меня не было 32 гига оперативки и видеокарта с 11 гигами памяти. И игра больше 20%Первую неделю был в восторге от игры, даже не знал, что игру здесь громят.     Криво, очень криво!! Я не думаю что даже такая игра способна жрать ресурсы на столько сильно. Где обещанный 60фпс? Мы в место этого видим сильно проработанную и сырую игру.     I had to create an account to vent my frustration on this game. The game testing they did on this is actually completely insulting to me personally considering the size of their company and the amount of money i wasted on this game which in certain scenes in IMPOSSIBLE to keep above 60 fps on ANY settings.

    I'll try to get through the positives briefly; the world is wonderfully built and the attention to detail is amazing, the story is Ok so far and so are the animations. Good job, all this also applied to real life, so no game necessary. End of positives.

    If you are the kind of person who wants to achieve or feel anything in life avoid this game. It is the epitome of everything the media tells you that you want but makes you feel nothing inside and you try to defend it because you spend £69.99 on it. The missions are completely identical, boring, easy and require zero original thought whatsoever to complete. Getting from mission to mission is tedious and so is everything else and the moment you start to get immersed in the world doing your own thing you'll have a major FPS drop, lose immersion and realize you are just a **** playing a game for children even though it's completely toxic and 18+.

    I've had zero...i think they are called 'feelings' ...moments regarding the game play, I could complete the hardest level in this game while eating my dinner. Missions provide zero room for initiative, something that Rockstar pioneered to the mainstream open world audience. (not actually pioneered)

    I almost think that Rockstar sabotaged this launch on purpose so they can justify to themselves not releasing there next GTA game on PC, because obviously its too much hassle to entertain people that aren't children and actually scale optimisation across multiple devices. This is also backed by the fact that they bait everyone into buying consoles by releasing on them first and i wouldn't be surprised if they did a deal with nvidia to **** up this launch to cross-sell them more of their next gen GPUs. If you think that is paranoid, then why do you think they release on consoles a whole year before PC? To get pc gamers to buy consoles obviously...

    Cleaning out my hard drive of this garbage to so i can play games that don't take up ludicrous amount of time from my personal projects and work or having to do doing mundane things and make me brain dead from hand holding missions and garbage stranger encounter. I have better stranger encounters in real life.

    4/10 is generous based on this PC launch. If it ran well i'd give it higher score because it would be a marvelous technical feat, although, it is not because that's like saying i'm the first man on mars, but the message is pre-recorded and i died a painful death during entry where my eye balls filled with blood and the vessels in my brain exploded due to G-force limits, Unacceptable.    … Expand

    An absorbing tale that will test your machine and tear ducts. A game that did not suffer from being brought to PC. RDR2 is worth overcoming all the shortcomings, since it is one of the best games of the decade. [Issue#300]

    My biggest warning to anyone considering purchasing RDR2 on PC is that you need to have patience when you set it up. Take the time to go through each graphics option, compare your performance on Vulkan vs. DirectX 12, and tailor the game to your specs. Once you have the game tuned, there’s no better way to experience it than on PC.
