RAID: World War II is somewhat of a spiritual succesor of PAYDAY: The Heist and PAYDAY 2, using the gameplay formula that made them popular while differentiating itself enough to be considered its own thing.
The missions are varied, with things like a Treasury, a flakturm,or stealing the Amber Room in a trainyard. The game released with 9 raids, 11 if you count the Outlaw Raids
The game released with 9 raids, 11 if you count the Outlaw Raids (Consumable raids that you have to find the intel for in normal raids). On top of that, you have Operations, which are multi-part raids following a small story arc, having in-between missions where you drive around Berlin completing specific objectives.
The gameplay is simple and fun. Although kind of lacking in guns, each one handles uniquely, and more weapons have been added in updates, with more coming in the future. All of them can be upgraded by completing their respective challenges (kills, headshots, etc.). Survivability is greatly based around resource management, having health and ammo pickups scattered around crates and dropped sometimes by enemies.
There are 4 classes in the game: Recon, Assault, Insurgent and Demolitions. What makes each class unique is their respective War Cry, a skill that can be activated after it gets filled with kills. Each War Cry has bonus for the user and another one for the entire team, encouraging you to use them at the best moment to help your team in the worst situations, althought they are unbalanced at the moment, with some war cries being clearly more useful than the others.
One of the worst parts of the game is the grinding. Progress feels very slow. Althought alleviated in recent updates, it still needs work.
In conclusion: this is a game that still needs a lot of work to be really great, but it has a lot of potential to be it. Also, the developers have been listening to the feedback and they've shown that they really care about working hard in it, which recent updates have shown. I would give this game a 7, but I'll give it a 8 for this reason.

RAID: World War 2 is the perfect example of dumb fun in it's best regards, the shooting feels fantastic, the movement is great, the weapons feel punchy, however, the game is sadly plagued by a plethora of bugs, a rocky start and ridiculously high price point, not unlike PD2, except of course, a whole lot less DLCs, I'd say it's worth your money if you're willing to wait a little longer forRAID: World War 2 is the perfect example of dumb fun in it's best regards, the shooting feels fantastic, the movement is great, the weapons feel punchy, however, the game is sadly plagued by a plethora of bugs, a rocky start and ridiculously high price point, not unlike PD2, except of course, a whole lot less DLCs, I'd say it's worth your money if you're willing to wait a little longer for a steam sale or, if you just have a ton to toss around, a very enjoyable but flawed game. Raid tries to be unlike Payday 2 and gives the player a whole scattering of new game mechanics. Therefore, the gameplay in the game is simply excellent. But because of the terrible graphics and technical problems, the game evokes a feeling of a very bad reskin of Payday 2.

The ambiguous feeling is caused by the system of maps, which is worth further elaboration. The game has a huge

The game has a huge potential, and I want to believe that the game will live.

RAID opened my long time closed doors, but showed me the sad truth. From beta until now, I've enjoyed the game and still will enjoy, I will never see this concept again and I love the aspect of classic FPS, despite the fact that I will probably be alone often. Because really crazy things are happening in today's gaming industries, and a lot of bad things went down on RAID. I'm a 90s player and I have a different view of how it works today and what puppets live among us today, and humans are real monsters, they didn't give the developers a chance, but they tried to fix and bring new all that stuff, improved engine more than PD2 and no, it's not reskin PD2!! (such nonsense could be said about GTA series for example). I remember the difference about the issues on release and now. But maybe it was also a bad decision that was made. Maybe a bigger advertisement should have been made to attract other audiences to the game instead of the PD community. Maybe they shouldn't have trusted the PD community. Maybe they should have coughed up at the console. Maybe they should have choose a different engine. Or they should split the game on a base and DLC. But now everything is gone. Wonderful updates, and new content (which was supposed to be free! for God's sake!!). But now everything is gone. And I'll just think and cry over all the good that could be in this undervalued game.

    I will remember LionGameLion

Raid: World War 2 copies Payday 2, but does little better and a lot of things worse than its role model. But the potential is there.

Overall, I really like the theme and setting of RAID: WWII, especially considering its irreverent tone that evokes memories of Inglorious Basterds. But even though I’m a sucker for all things WWII, the bullet-spongy enemies, lackluster unlocks and customization, and poor mission variety don’t excite me enough to want to play beyond a few rounds. And while it’s putting the cart before the horse, without a strong community of users to drop into a raid with, there’s even less reason to stick it to Nazi Germany in this particular instance. Very little in RAID: WWII is absurdly broken or flawed, but its mediocrity makes it a missed opportunity to create a highly replayable co-op game within the WWII shooter genre.

On a whole, RAID: World War II feels exactly like what you’d expect from a Payday clone. It takes less of a political approach than other games featuring Nazis such as Wolfenstein or the upcoming Call of Duty: WW2, and instead moves away from the war is hell narrative to opt for a more hyper-violent, stylised approach to the subject matter. While the choice of game engine severely lets itself down, there is still much to appreciate if you enjoy other co-operative shooters of its type.
