    Probably one of the most boring games to come out this generation. And its not the gameplay I'm talking about, the shooting and all the players abilities feel awesome. In fact this game is probably on par with Doom when it comes to the gun mechanics.

    But everything else in the game is completely bland and boring.     If you enjoyed doom you will really like this game. The weak part of the game is definitely the driving. I agree with the reviewers on that. But in terms of a low brain power shoot em up game it is very good and worthwhile. If you just want to relax and not play a complex game after work or school then you should definitely get this game.     This game has a lot to offer. The music and aesthetics are top notch and the gameplay is outright incredible. What is happening to the gaming community? Since when did everyone become so picky, judgemental and self righteous? I feel nothing will satisfy this A.D.D, "everything is boring " generation .     Awesome game. The combat is classic id, while the open world is this massive desert with huge canyon walls, and covered in places to get into fights. Nightmare is a perfect challenge for an id fan. I was skeptical of Avalanche but this game is excellent. Don't miss out.

    If they had focused on the combat it may have been a funner game. Instead, the same open-world tropes are used and abused to pad the content and it shows. Short, exciting bouts of combat are spaced out between inane collection hunting. Meh.

    Rage 2 is just a crying shame. I would genuinely love to be a fly on the wall in these studios to see exactly how they make such a mess out of such an opportunity of a game as Rage 2. Seriously who in their development team thought that the writing was okay? I've never felt so uncomfortable listening to dialogue in a video game before. Do they not put any thought into making these games?Rage 2 is just a crying shame. I literally finished the game in 5 hours, yes 5 hours for 60 bucks, 5 hours of fetch quest, of boring and empty open world and unimaginative and bad story, the dubbing isn't always great, the cars are awful to drive with a keyboard, you definitely need a controller for that.
    The gameplay is good, some classic fast fps gameplay that you probably have already played in rage 1, Wolfenstein, doom. But nothing new, interesting.

    Nothing really linked the two games except a 5 min cinematic in the beginning of the game, two or three Easter eggs which are really cool and that's it.
    The bad guy is cool but you will only see him three times, yeah, I'm not even joking, his voice is the only one that is worth noticing.
    All the upgrades feel useless, the open world looks awful and it's one of the ugliest games I have ever seen in my life, there is no consistence to this game, sometimes it looks really good (most of the time it's inside the city etc.) and sometimes it looks awful.

    This game has nothing for him, it's boring, ugly, uninteresting and expensive.

    This is the last time I will ever be hyped for a Bethesda game, I waited so long for this one, loved the first one so much, but that’s what I got, 5h of bad experiences for 60$

    They couldn’t even protect the game correctly, they forgot to implement denuvo for the game which is crazy to me, that just shows how careless they were.

    Go buy Mad Max, Rage 1 or any other game at that point, everything else will be a better experience than this game.    … Expand

It's really short and can be completed in 10 hours. Also this game is built on top of Mad Max (another garbage game) which is super obvious. Немного "кртинка" сделана полу-мрачной, фильтр пост-апокалипсиса не плохой, и это добавляет атмосферы, со временем привыкаешь. Боты не "рашат", но и не стоят как статуи, сделано достойно. Всё заточено на рашБожественно! Затягивает! Постепенно погружаешься в удивительный мир игры. Оружие такое же бесподобное как в "Нью Даун". Звуки здесь лучше ("имбовее"). Все проработано и оптимизировано! Немного "кртинка" сделана полу-мрачной, фильтр пост-апокалипсиса не плохой, и это добавляет атмосферы, со временем привыкаешь.     -Content seems a bit lacking when it comes to missions and side activities
    -If not explored deeper, combat can get boring to an average player
    -Strange use of resources and currencies when upgrading
    -Sometimes empty open world
    -Bland looking characters when it comes to the cities
    -Mostly stupid AI

    Summary:

    I really wanted to like this game. I want to give it a 7. But I can't. I actually really enjoyed Rage 1, quite a bit. This game feels very different for reasons I can't explain.

    1. The game crashes frequently, ESPECIALLY when you delete saved games which ironically happens when I'm trying to free up a slot to save my progress before the game crashes. This wasn't a one time thing. It's    I really wanted to like this game. I want to give it a 7. But I can't. I actually really enjoyed Rage 1, quite a bit. This game feels very different for reasons I can't explain.

    1. The game crashes frequently, ESPECIALLY when you delete saved games which ironically happens when I'm trying to free up a slot to save my progress before the game crashes. This wasn't a one time thing. It's about 50% of the time.

    2. Speaking of saving, there are only 12 saved slots and you often reappear in odd locations without your car. Really in 2019? 1990s checkpoints calling PCMR. Bethesda, you are both my most hated and loved company (like MS). And of course it crashes when you do that, so you lose progress potentially.

    3. The game also never seems to count the arks, chests or notepads correctly. I pick it up but still somehow it doesn't count, which is an OCD nightmare.

    4. As for other bugs, I constantly have to reconfigure my two guns of choice (you can switch back and forth which is nice) b/c it inexplicably resets for no reason, especially when loading / continuing.

    5. The challenge is WAY off. I After many hours of trial and error, I have to agree with another poster. Nightmare is probably the best setting. You def can take a few hits but you can't slug it out with anyone. In other words you don't have to be perfect, but you are not bulletproof at all. Think Batman Arkham Asylum.

    5a. The other thing about Nightmare and the other poster said this, FINALLY, you have reason to collect things b/c you might run through quite a few grenades and health infusions and w/o upgrades to crafting, you might be surprised how quickly you deplete your surplus. Previously, I was always maxed out and never had to use anything.

    6. Oh, this may sound weird, but just TOO MANY abilities and things. I like variety and it's good everyone can use what they enjoy, but Rage 1 seemed simpler and streamlined and I enjoyed immensely - challenging and fun. There's just too much for me to keep track of and use, YMMV.

    On the plus side, the graphics are VERY nice and the scenery is nothing short of amazing. The drivign is fun, and gameplay is good but uneven, and the crashes and other weird glitches just make it hard to reward that sloppy design. Also, some areas such as mutant nests are actually cut and paste. I dk why they did that since bandit locations always seem very different even if they share similarities.

    There's a really good game under here, but you have to dig to find it.    … Expand

    BUT, this game has the most tactile, responsive, exciting, and re-playable first person gunplay and combat of many years, competing with the    RAGE 2 suffers from a few major faults, like a story that is as if it was deliberately designed to be a generic parody of itself, a relatively lifeless open world, unmemorable characters, and a handful of bugs that forced me to restart my game

    BUT, this game has the most tactile, responsive, exciting, and re-playable first person gunplay and combat of many years, competing with the likes of Doom (2016) and Titanfall. It is so fantastic that the overwhelming "meh" of the rest of the game is completely overshadowed and often forgotten, as Rage 2 will keep you coming back for many, many hours.    … Expand

    Looked nice in the character select section. Then got out the door and it froze my PC. Like balls up, unresponsive. Had to do hard reset. Have been fearful to play it ever since.

    Remember when Rage was a bad shooter with mechanics from other games at the time were poorly implemented onto it with no reason or purpose? Well Rage 2 resisted being a battle royale but couldn't resist other poor mechanics.

    The graphics looks like something from 2012. The story is bland and so are the characters. The driving is just copy pasted from Mad Max and the shooting is nothing special, feels like an average fps game. The worst part though is the optimization for PC.     i personally hated the controls, i tried playing on a keyboard at first but gave up and switched to a Xbox one control, which was OK.

    the story is about 5-10 hours, and the story is pretty much just going to the other side of the map killing somebody. ingame history is a bit flawed, it does not make you more interested in the game and makes you start to to "overlook" those random datapads scattered around the world

    the normal difficulty is insanely easy.

    driving is occasionally fun, in the beginning anyway, when you get a certain vehicle you stop using any other vehicle and only go "driving" with that specific vehicle, completely breaking the game as you have unlimited fuel. when it comes to modding the vehicles in this game, it seems that you can only upgrade your first vehicle, any other is a no go, which for me was quite boring.

    weapon and skills modding sure looks amazing at first but after leveling everything to max, its a bit basic, more bullets per second type of mods. the skills get stronger but it does not give the skill any difference in looks or "impact" on the user! a level 5 skills looks like a level 1 skill.

    but is not enough to carry the whole game. the game is called Rage, and should be about Rage, the power of Rage, and what rage can do to people! both when it comes to skills, and shotguns

    The plot sucks, you're 25 years old and have never been outside the small base. You never met any of these people who all know the woman who raised you? You never knew about any of the 10 "projects" your own people were working on? You have a base full of super advanced technology and the best soldiers but somehow the "authority" sneaks up on you and wipes your whole base out, but when you leave the base you can stomp any "authority" forces out like they are nothing? Every ARK is literally within a 2 mile radius but the "rangers" have never scouted them?

    The whole game is an unbelievably boring check mark chasing, follow the dots, run of the mill shooter.

    The NPCs just make me want to kill every thing in the game. You never need to hear anything they say. They just talk agonizingly slow about what checkmark to chase, there is no back and forth, no selectable retorts. Just save your time, press E to talk to them and instantly press F to skip the voice dialogue. I listened to all of the dialogue from the totally boring NPCs from 2 towns and I just wanted to nuke the entire game.

    After winning the "race" in one try without the rest of the cars even near me I just uninstalled the game.

    Everything feels like a chore. Why "race" when all you need to do is press forward and steer?

    You can perch/peek and kill all the authority turrets without taking any damage.

    You can take all the zones just by running around and melee one shotting every enemy.

    All the mutant fights are the same, throw 6 grenades, then you sidestep and shoot them in the face while jumping.    … Expand

    I never played Rage 1 but i played DOOM (the last one). In this case I dont know waht Rage shute be as a game but i know how a good DOOM like shooter shute feel. And yes it dose feel great as a shooter and it have waht you need to put a view houers in it. But working good as a shooter is sadly not good enough.     I was hesitant to buy this game due to mediocre reviews. However I am happy that I gave this game a chance because it is actually pretty good. It is total adrenaline rush with none-stop action.There is tons of places to discover with ridiculous amount of action. The game is similar to Doom with combat mechanics. It took me over 30 hours with DLC and few side missions to complete the game. I could probably spend another 10-20 hours to do explore the entire world and do absolutely everything in the game. It is definitely worthy purchase for FPS enthusiasts. give this game a chance. i think you won't be disappointed.… Expand

    Pros: Good solid gameplay, weapon upgrades, power upgrades. It's a good game, just don't expect a good story.
    Cons: Little bugs here and there. Voice dialog cuts out periodically. World does feel a little empty. Lacking story.
    Overall: It's a good game worth getting.

    Even now, over a half a year since release, you can still accidentally break the main quest permanently with no fix in sight. Want to finish the game? I will hope for you that you can because nobody at Bethesda does.

    The problem with Rage 2 is that it makes the open world experience the main game. Except for grinding the encounters found in the open world, there are only a few story missions. That's really lazy game development especially since the open world experience is so dull here. In order for an open world game to work you need it to be "fun" to explore the world and find things, like in Zelda BoTW and the GTA games. Avalanche Studios claim to be experts on open world, but this game certainly isn't a good example.

    I would've preferred a more story-driven game, the story that is in there now is very forgettable and tedious, thank heavens that you can skip it though which I found myself doing often. Like everyone is saying, the gun play *is* good, but even that gets repetitive towards the end of the game since there aren't that many different enemies and the game is not hard even on the difficulty with that name.

    It's sad to have this missed opportunity considering the amount of money and man hours that went into making this game. At the end of the day, people play computer games to have fun and escape, a game can't just be "go there, kill those enemies, collect that", rinse and repeat.    … Expand

    Graphics remind fallout 3 with some improvements. Wasteland is mostly boring, with dummy buildings you can't come in. Lots of glitches, like ammo clips flying high in the air, characters talking to invisible people, car stuck in holes etc. etc...

    I skipped all of the cut-scenes, and it was a chore to play through the campaign. (which I actually did complete) There were some really frustrating missions - particularly involving the driving, and the boss-fights. The fun was in taking    Fantastic graphics, and probably the best fist person shooter combat I have ever played.

If this is your way of punishing a publisher think again, all you'll accomplish is less games being produced and a smaller chance of getting what you want as a gamer. TBH i can understand outrage about things, like EA or Anthem or stuff like that. But Avalache hasnt deserverd any of this. And this is just a really really good game. Everything that is said about the open world being bland and empty is just not true, this has to be the most gorgeous open world ive seen and there is allot to explore. If your idea of exploring is getting lost in sidequest 535 for an hour then yea maybe this game is not for you, but there is definitly allot of exploration to be done none the less. There are meaningfull sidequest or camps to clear for upgrades etc. Unlocking vehicles, guns, gameplay mechanics etc. The story is actually quite good for what it is trying to archieve. I wont go in story plots here but all i want to say is that yes there might be cheesy moments in dialogue but the plot line is not bad or anything. Its just straight forward and serves its purpose. Also if you as a gamer really like deep narrative driven story lines and player choices like fallout 4 then maybe this game isnt for you. That said, this doesnt mean there is no immersion and this game isnt an RPG! You can litterly almost upgrade anything and everything and there are enough small tidbits and sidequests to be found if you are more into the backstory. Also there a different factions that live and roam in this world and they are just nicely done i think. And throughout the game you get to explore how they all tie together. All in all just a very good open world FPS action game. If anyone tell's you otherwise that person either doesnt like FPS games or is just trolling you. If you are slightly into games that evolve around shooting your way out of things then this is a must to have played. Also for the people complaining about short story line, im pretty satisfied after i finished it. Sure i could have played another three big quests but the amount of detail and action you get in the base game is more then plentifull. Also there is a replayability factor bc the way you upgrade your weapons is uniquely chosen by the player. And if you reaally cant get enough of this content bc its too short, why would you review bomb. Thats like the surest way or guaranteeing nothing of this game gets produced anymore. And also there is the DLC, too expensive, well get it on a sell you winey. Anyways thats my two cents. I just was just shocked to see such a low review bombed score vs what i experienced as i played the game.

    TLDR: Great game dont read any review other then IGN or destructiod bc they same to understand.     Driving in this game for me was okay. I got hang of it pretty fast, so it wasn't cancer for me, like many other reviewers have stated.

    Story, secondary characters and map of the game - all these 3 aspects was a let down for me. There's no depth in story whatsoever, you just get boring villain and that's about it. Pretty much all the time I was playing Rage 2 I sat on my chair with complete poker face, no emotions (I played this on hard). Now I remember playing Mad Max - and there were such a great moments story related, such an amazing cutscenes and intense fighting in enemy camps. Sadly, Rage 2 has pretty much none of that.

    Graphics, audio and sound was alright. Although there was some few bugs with physics, some textures missing or some voice lines muted, but nothing game breaking.

    Let me just say this - if it was indie type of game, for let's say around 20-30 euros then this would be good, or at least okay. But as a Triple A game I expected much more content from Bethesda, id and Avalanche Studios (bear in mind the latter also developed Mad Max which was great game for me).

    This definitely not worth 60/80 euros, no way. Wait a sale, till the price drops to half, because for a full price, the content you get - this is a f**king joke.    … Expand

    Very repetitive open world activities. Go to a camp eliminate everyone, repeat.
    Very repetitive enemies, pretty much Goons everywhere. And the same big mutant at the end of 90% of missions.
    Story is cheap and hollow.

    Extremely underrated/overlooked game, one of the smoothests game I've played. A mix between Mad Max and Borderlands, only better than both. The combat is nice, big open world, story is not amazing but it rarely is in games nowadays. Runs beautifully, a lot to explore, would recommend.

Eu só fui me habituar de verdade lá para o final do jogo, e ai eu digo: O personagem com todas as habilidades e armas é fascinante. Além do mais, os poderes e armas ganhos não são tão uteis. Acredito que se tivessem adicionado as arcas de acordo com que a historia prosseguisse e novos inimigos surgissem, elas seriam bem mais orgânicas a gameplay. E mais dois adendos: A sensibilidade do jogo me pareceu muito "presa", dificultando que eu acetasse tiros e a dirigibilidade é horrível, o que é um ponto super negativo visto que o jogo não tem Fast Travel e boa parte do jogo é dirigindo de um ponto ao outro.

    A historia, mesmo não sendo o foco, deixa muito a desejar. Personagens são chatos e não participam de maneira "devida"; o vilão sem graça e genérico; diálogos fúteis e irreais; etc. Eles se inspiraram em vários Jogos/Filmes, como: DOOM, Mad Max, Borderlands, e mesmo assim isso ficou a desejar. Faltou muita inspiração.

    Os gráficos são legais, principalmente com o FOV alto, que esconde muito as texturas lavadas. Rodou bem no Ryzen 5 1600 + Rtx 2060.

    Conclusão: Mesmo após tantos pontos negativos, me diverti mais do que me importei com isso. Nota 7.    … Expand

    The game looks like it was really good originally, and deliberately ruined with terrible design decisions. The guns are a letdown (after the "open world DOOM marketing bulls**t), and the driving mechanics are just simply the worst I've ever seen. And the main storyline locked behind it! You have a lot of patchin' to do guys!

    Rage 2 is a decent action game. Shooting is fun, abilities are fun and the gameplay overall in this game is fun. But it sure has its problems. First of all the story. Not gonna spoil anything, but the story is just short and pretty forgettable. But that doesn't really bother me since this game is mostly about the gameplay.     Utter trash and bland game. The definition of a game which shouldn't be open world. Massive and empty world. The gameplay is mediocre, if you love bullet sponges it is the game for you. The new "special powers" are pointless. If you want a better first person shooter, save your money and get 2016 Doom, a much better game.

    The game feels super buggy and the controls are just terrible.
    I believe Avalanche Studies might be one of the most non-skilled video game devs on the market.

    Pra mim é um Doom Open World, curti o game é divertido é legal, gostei dos gráficos e das armas, a historia é simples , mas comprei o jogo pela diversão e não pela historia , pra mim foi uma otima compra pois curto jogos FPS raiz. Essa pequena resenha é para os BR's os gringos que vão toma no cu.

    Good game until you try to access player menu, then it freezes or crashes to desktop. Also it has very little to do in such a big open world, seems unfinished and should not have been released yet.

    I bought Rage 2 when it was just released in May. It had many problems - it crashed frequently but it ran. Then Bethesda applied a fix (Hot Fix 2) after which my game no longer ran. After playing for several months, the game crashed when launched. Bethesda put me through a ton of procedures to fix the problem. Nothing worked. After playing Rage 2 for 3 months they said my computer wasI bought Rage 2 when it was just released in May. It had many problems - it crashed frequently but it ran. Then Bethesda applied a fix (Hot Fix 2) after which my game no longer ran. After playing for several months, the game crashed when launched. Bethesda put me through a ton of procedures to fix the problem. Nothing worked. After playing Rage 2 for 3 months they said my computer was inadequate. They couldn't fix my problem & they won't refund my $90. Be warned this could happen to you.

    I picked this game up as a freebie, so I don't have any real 'skin in the game' so to speak but, after having played it for 40 hours now, over about a month, I thought it deserves a review at least.

    It's got shortcomings, in particular, the opening scenes are hilariously bad. The overall story is predictable. The initial combat and intro scenes are so poorly done you would be well    I picked this game up as a freebie, so I don't have any real 'skin in the game' so to speak but, after having played it for 40 hours now, over about a month, I thought it deserves a review at least.

    If you can withstand the initial poor presentation (the scene in the first ARC where you 'interact' with the hologram is .... not impressive) the game actually opens out into a pretty entertaining shoot'em up romp through a game that is a cross betwen something like Far Cry and Borderlands, without the bazillion guns or story.

    The nanite powers you accumulate as you go through the game are entertaining but not game defining. I often forgot to use them and had no real problems on normal difficulty settings. The 'force splat' nanite power is good for up close and personal combat, and the enhanced jump is good because... all these types of games have it?

    The vehicle choices are mediocre. I tended to stick with either the flying gyrocopter, it was physically weak, but it gave fast travel to anywhere on the map, or the starting ATV, as it had regeneration and onboard weaponry. Other than that, I used the other vehicles when the game seemed to want me to (like the tank bit).

    The combat is somewhat Borderlands, somewhat Doom 2016 (unsuprisingly), somewhat Far Cry. No sniper rifle though, although the assault rifle did an OK job at that sort of thing.

    I found the driving/flying to be pretty good. The map is pretty large and requires quite a lot of traversal, but In all honesty, it's no more tedious than Borderlands, Far Cry, Assassins Creed, etc, etc, etc... You can always fast travel between opened trading posts, and your vehicles are only a button click away.

    Overall, it's a shame they didn't spend a little bit more time polishing this game. It could have been great with a cohesive story and decent extra side misisons, but as it is, it's just good.    … Expand

This game is brilliant, honestly a lot of the points people are using to give low ratings are simply untrue if you actually play this game; particularly if you're not trying to play some other game through it.

    There are a lot of better games out there. Borderlands series, Fallout series, Batman: Arkham Knight, etc. which all have the same feel to them. I never played the first Rage but the second is a compitant game for anyone who wants a post-apocalyptic shoot out game.     The game is a contradiction. It pushes this fast paced gameplay with the music, fast moving and shoot enemies, and that you want to move in fast with quick moves to pick up the nanites. But then one mistake it's over, you die then you have to do the objective that you are on all over again.
    The checkpoints are literally the whole base! So you can't play it fast like they want you to because then you will just have to do the same 5 to 30 minutes you played, over and over again.

    I don't know who is left from the original crew at Id. This is totally lame. This is checkpoint game mechanic that might have been okay 20 years ago, but inexcusable now. It's just a very lazy decision, maybe a decision made because the game engine was broken or something.

    Is you want to play a real post apocalyptic car game play the underrated Mad Max 2015 game. It blows away this confused hot mess.    … Expand

It is extraordinarily fun to fight any types of enemies using all the different abilities you will get.

    The narrative is interesting and has some original characters and settings. However, apart from a few twists, the plot itself is bland and mostly predictable. Another issue is that you need to actually collect all the data pads and read through the entries if you want to understand the lore; otherwise, the narrative content will seem even more shallow.

    My main gripe with the game is that the content gets repetitive after a while. Trying to 100% this is a real pain, mainly because the progression is relatively fast, leaving you with nothing else to upgrade after a while.

    Nonetheless, spending some 15-20 hours roaming the Wasteland and fighting, exploring, or doing quests is extremely fun. I would highly recommend the game as long as you do not come in expect to find more content and are just willing to come to terms with what this is.    … Expand

    The art direction of the cyberpunk setup is wonderful, the map is diverse and cities and characters feel original. It's really nice to drive and stop and investigate what is going on. The shooting is amazing, the sound/music environment is excellent. It's a joy to use and caliber and reload weapons. The graphics are stunningly beautiful.

    On the weakness side, it's not a perfect open world: too much grind, and it's not a perfect shooter: the ammunition management feels old school.

    That being said, to summarize Rage 2: you get Doom's action with Cyberpunk 2077's aesthetic in a Far Cry's kind of open world map. Terrific package.    … Expand

    It is not fair to review this game as it was an RPG, calling it repetetitive, dull. This game is the normal First Person Shooter just with an open world to massacre everybody on your way both on foot and with vehícles. For me is the best shooter and action game of 2019, it's repetitive as every action game is but this one differs in how outstanding the action is.     We have to admit that the single player in this game has no potential. Not everyone wants to play all day long, exploring the map, like in Fallout – it just gets boring. Rage 2 could become a perfect Battle Royale experience or pretty simple MMO, but as the game, designed for single player walkthrough, it can keep your interest only for a couple of evenings, perhaps forcing you to come back from time to time to explore all corners of this world.
