    Cons:AVG Story, Writing, Cringy Dialogue at times, typical bland characters, shallow character depth, and repetitive gameplay after a while.

    I really wanted to like Rage 2 but unfortunately it is boring and dull and with way too much pink color for a post apocalyptic game (i can't understand why they chose that stupid color palete for the graphics) also the game is suffering from some of the same problems that the first game did when it released eight years ago.     Rage 2 has great feeling gunplay but that is unfortunately the only good thing about it. The boring world and characters make it a forgettable game that should be sold for around 20 dollars. The price tag is way too high for what is offered. Developers, stop trying to make everything open world and if you do make it interesting to explore.     A good FPS, a nice mix between mad max and Doom. Open World is great, but don't buy it for a story. It is not worth of its 60 euros, but for 36 euros on instant gaming it is a really a nice trade. If you like shooters it can be good for you

    This game is a bit disappointing. It could be a great game but certain things are making it only average. For me those things were:
    1. Weapons hidden around the map and getting next weapon not related to the story. In fact I finished the game with only 4 weapons as I couldn't find more.

    4. Lots of upgrades are pointless and don't really give you any advantage. Upgrade system is overly complicated. Important upgrades like health increase can be bought in special place but throughout the whole game I could only afford to buy one upgrade which gave me 5% more health. Same with vehicle, I could only afford to upgrade most of things after I have finished main story line. What is the point of it. Seriously?
    5. Game is quite repetitive and many quests are the same but in different place.

    What rescue this title is combat system which is great. Gives you a lot of satisfaction to massacre another wave of enemies.

    Bottom line:
    If you got the game as a gift yeah it is worth playing but don't waste your hard earned money for it.    … Expand

First rage was a lackluster in all aspects and yes, in that era it had disappointed in different tropes than Rage 2 did in today's explicit media saturation. But the fact is that the original Rage was not even remotely close to being fun as this sequel. FC:ND for example was    RAGE 2

    First off, fascinating how this game got LOWER numbers when compared to Rage and/or Far Cry: New Dawn. First rage was a lackluster in all aspects and yes, in that era it had disappointed in different tropes than Rage 2 did in today's explicit media saturation. But the fact is that the original Rage was not even remotely close to being fun as this sequel. FC:ND for example was incredibly shallow, dull and similarly to this.. colorful.

    I get that id was aiming at, working on open world DOOM concept and this was that ideas child. And I welcome it, i really do.. Well I would anyway, if the story was more in-depth, the characters didn't feel as stationary "To do: .." lists and all other cliches front line titles tend to do.
    With that said and done, I don't treat it as an more in-depth game such as Fallout series, Witcher, etc... I treat it as it is, an old school shoot-'em-up which it does exceptionally well, I had fun with mindless carnage and semi-wide pallet of weaponry/abilities games hides in it's arsenal.

    Story itself including the characters (as previously stated) feel sluggish and un-fulfilling, which does bring the score down a bit. But it's not a definite mood set by itself, game play performs so well that it can supplement the lack of story-driven content.

    That would sum it up, additionally.. My score would not be reflective of the actual grade I feel for this IP, it serves as a lackluster scale tipper considering the hype-driven critics review and publisher related "trust" dents it delivered. SOME, and I cannot stress this enough, SOME people rated this game based simply on the fact that it's published by Bethesda and not based on a talented developers that truth be told did go with a safe bet with a preexisting mixture and a bit of novelty.

    All in all, a mechanically REALLY fun game for genre fans but not fulfilling enough for buck-to-content ratio and quality narrative aficionados .    … Expand

    Not such bad game as most people say. The most important thing is to understand what you are waitng from Rage 2. If you need perfect combat mechanics, if you want just shoot, blast everything aroung and relax, Rage 2 is worth buyng. If you want to get long story with interesting quests, open world with different types of activity - Don't buy Rage 2. This game will be boring for you.

    I initially thought this game was a 9, but after beating it, it's a 6. Main missions only add up to 7 hrs gameplay and the last 2 missions are boring. The side missions are all the same. The game runs well, but is poorly designed. A real shame.

    I mean its OK....Its not Rage, in any way other than the wingsticks which is clearly all they wanted....In all honesty I would bet my first born child this game did not start as a Rage sequel....Its a competent shooter, its just not Rage...Rage wasn't about "power" armor suits and abilities from it...Of course its a Bugthesda published release so its got some bugs they will eventually workI mean its OK....Its not Rage, in any way other than the wingsticks which is clearly all they wanted....In all honesty I would bet my first born child this game did not start as a Rage sequel....Its a competent shooter, its just not Rage...Rage wasn't about "power" armor suits and abilities from it...Of course its a Bugthesda published release so its got some bugs they will eventually work out...You can have fun with it, the main story itself is around 7hrs but there is some side missions to pad that out to about 15.....If you want a shooter you can have some fun with, its not terrible, if you want a Rage sequel this is NOT it...Kinda regret paying full price for it, so maybe wait for a sale. Shouldn't be too long before it drops to the $30-40 range....They really want to push it being an LMFAO Id game, but its not Id exists in name only now and this was clearly developed more by Avalanche… Expand

    Love Rage 2, it is like DOOM and Mad Max got a baby together. shooting mechanic is super fun, vehicle driving is not too good could be better, not all of the character are interesting recommend getting deluxe edition. normal edition is a 6 out of 10 and the deluxe edition is a 7 out of 10, could be higher if we get more content in the future...

    The UI is nicely done, showing how much items to look for at each location, but there is no per-region summary or progress indication. Discovering locations is kind of a hit-or-miss as the detection range on the road is too short. For example, I finished the main quest and didn't know where to get the last 2 weapons and last augmentation; had to look it up online. Driving around is interesting once, but becomes boring pretty soon. There are a couple fast-travel locations but generally, everything is so out of place that one has to travel half the map to mop up a location. The driving is generally okay but the racing is hideous with mouse+keyboard, plus there is a bug that can make you lose the mandatory race mission when the AI gets teleported to the end of the race taking your first place away. One annoyance was the interruption from mission completed screens, telling you how much cache and points you earned. These could have been simple popups so that they don't break the flow of the game.

    It ran decently on my machines with 1060 on High and it is recommended to update graphics drivers. I haven't encountered crashes or overheating issues. The game is ALT+TAB friendly.    … Expand

    The Bad - The gameplay is generic, the missions have no depth its just the same thing over and over without any increased challenge. The game world is rather small and lifeless.     A fun and solid shooter slapped inside a bland open world, this is basically Rage 2. From boring low quality quest, unimpressive environments to incredibly non-standard tutorials; Rage 2 is a game not deserving of its 60$ price tag.

    -Too easy even on hardest difficulty for better players

    -A sometimes boring and disappointing story
    -Content seems a bit lacking when it comes to missions and side activities
    -If not explored deeper, combat can get boring to an average player
    -Strange use of resources and currencies when upgrading
    -Sometimes empty open world
    -Bland looking characters when it comes to the cities
    -Mostly stupid AI

    Summary:

    1. The game crashes frequently, ESPECIALLY when you delete saved games which ironically happens when I'm trying to free up a slot to save my progress before the game crashes. This wasn't a one time thing. It's    I really wanted to like this game. I want to give it a 7. But I can't. I actually really enjoyed Rage 1, quite a bit. This game feels very different for reasons I can't explain.

    1. The game crashes frequently, ESPECIALLY when you delete saved games which ironically happens when I'm trying to free up a slot to save my progress before the game crashes. This wasn't a one time thing. It's about 50% of the time.

    2. Speaking of saving, there are only 12 saved slots and you often reappear in odd locations without your car. Really in 2019? 1990s checkpoints calling PCMR. Bethesda, you are both my most hated and loved company (like MS). And of course it crashes when you do that, so you lose progress potentially.

    3. The game also never seems to count the arks, chests or notepads correctly. I pick it up but still somehow it doesn't count, which is an OCD nightmare.

    4. As for other bugs, I constantly have to reconfigure my two guns of choice (you can switch back and forth which is nice) b/c it inexplicably resets for no reason, especially when loading / continuing.

    5. The challenge is WAY off. I After many hours of trial and error, I have to agree with another poster. Nightmare is probably the best setting. You def can take a few hits but you can't slug it out with anyone. In other words you don't have to be perfect, but you are not bulletproof at all. Think Batman Arkham Asylum.

    5a. The other thing about Nightmare and the other poster said this, FINALLY, you have reason to collect things b/c you might run through quite a few grenades and health infusions and w/o upgrades to crafting, you might be surprised how quickly you deplete your surplus. Previously, I was always maxed out and never had to use anything.

    6. Oh, this may sound weird, but just TOO MANY abilities and things. I like variety and it's good everyone can use what they enjoy, but Rage 1 seemed simpler and streamlined and I enjoyed immensely - challenging and fun. There's just too much for me to keep track of and use, YMMV.

    On the plus side, the graphics are VERY nice and the scenery is nothing short of amazing. The drivign is fun, and gameplay is good but uneven, and the crashes and other weird glitches just make it hard to reward that sloppy design. Also, some areas such as mutant nests are actually cut and paste. I dk why they did that since bandit locations always seem very different even if they share similarities.

    There's a really good game under here, but you have to dig to find it.    … Expand

    BUT, this game has the most tactile, responsive, exciting, and re-playable first person gunplay and combat of many years, competing with the    RAGE 2 suffers from a few major faults, like a story that is as if it was deliberately designed to be a generic parody of itself, a relatively lifeless open world, unmemorable characters, and a handful of bugs that forced me to restart my game

    BUT, this game has the most tactile, responsive, exciting, and re-playable first person gunplay and combat of many years, competing with the likes of Doom (2016) and Titanfall. It is so fantastic that the overwhelming "meh" of the rest of the game is completely overshadowed and often forgotten, as Rage 2 will keep you coming back for many, many hours.    … Expand

    Essentially a quick try to jump on Borderlands 3 hype train, but still fun for a short period of time.
    If you want quick flashy pew pew bang bang game its for you but does not offer anything else.

    I never played Rage 1 but i played DOOM (the last one). In this case I dont know waht Rage shute be as a game but i know how a good DOOM like shooter shute feel. And yes it dose feel great as a shooter and it have waht you need to put a view houers in it. But working good as a shooter is sadly not good enough. I still have soundbugs that makes the game impossibel to play with sound. TheI never played Rage 1 but i played DOOM (the last one). In this case I dont know waht Rage shute be as a game but i know how a good DOOM like shooter shute feel. And yes it dose feel great as a shooter and it have waht you need to put a view houers in it.     The problem with Rage 2 is that it makes the open world experience the main game. Except for grinding the encounters found in the open world, there are only a few story missions. That's really lazy game development especially since the open world experience is so dull here. In order for an open world game to work you need it to be "fun" to explore the world and find things, like in Zelda BoTW and the GTA games. Avalanche Studios claim to be experts on open world, but this game certainly isn't a good example.

    I would've preferred a more story-driven game, the story that is in there now is very forgettable and tedious, thank heavens that you can skip it though which I found myself doing often. Like everyone is saying, the gun play *is* good, but even that gets repetitive towards the end of the game since there aren't that many different enemies and the game is not hard even on the difficulty with that name.

    I skipped all of the cut-scenes, and it was a chore to play through the campaign. (which I actually did complete) There were some really frustrating missions - particularly involving the driving, and the boss-fights.     Very repetitive open world activities. Go to a camp eliminate everyone, repeat.
    Very repetitive enemies, pretty much Goons everywhere. And the same big mutant at the end of 90% of missions.
    Story is cheap and hollow.

Eu só fui me habituar de verdade lá para o final do jogo, e ai eu digo: O personagem com todas as habilidades e armas é fascinante. E mais dois adendos: A sensibilidade do jogo me pareceu muito "presa", dificultando que eu acetasse tiros e a dirigibilidade é horrível, o que é um ponto super negativo visto que o jogo não tem Fast Travel e boa parte do jogo é dirigindo de um ponto ao outro.

    A historia, mesmo não sendo o foco, deixa muito a desejar. Personagens são chatos e não participam de maneira "devida"; o vilão sem graça e genérico; diálogos fúteis e irreais; etc. Eles se inspiraram em vários Jogos/Filmes, como: DOOM, Mad Max, Borderlands, e mesmo assim isso ficou a desejar. Faltou muita inspiração.

    Os gráficos são legais, principalmente com o FOV alto, que esconde muito as texturas lavadas. Rodou bem no Ryzen 5 1600 + Rtx 2060.

    If you can withstand the initial poor presentation (the scene in the first ARC where you 'interact' with the hologram is .... not impressive) the game actually opens out into a pretty entertaining shoot'em up romp through a game that is a cross betwen something like Far Cry and Borderlands, without the bazillion guns or story.

    The nanite powers you accumulate as you go through the game are entertaining but not game defining. I often forgot to use them and had no real problems on normal difficulty settings. The 'force splat' nanite power is good for up close and personal combat, and the enhanced jump is good because... all these types of games have it?

    The vehicle choices are mediocre. I tended to stick with either the flying gyrocopter, it was physically weak, but it gave fast travel to anywhere on the map, or the starting ATV, as it had regeneration and onboard weaponry. Other than that, I used the other vehicles when the game seemed to want me to (like the tank bit).

    The combat is somewhat Borderlands, somewhat Doom 2016 (unsuprisingly), somewhat Far Cry. No sniper rifle though, although the assault rifle did an OK job at that sort of thing.

    I found the driving/flying to be pretty good. The map is pretty large and requires quite a lot of traversal, but In all honesty, it's no more tedious than Borderlands, Far Cry, Assassins Creed, etc, etc, etc... You can always fast travel between opened trading posts, and your vehicles are only a button click away.

    Overall, it's a shame they didn't spend a little bit more time polishing this game. It could have been great with a cohesive story and decent extra side misisons, but as it is, it's just good.    … Expand

This game is brilliant, honestly a lot of the points people are using to give low ratings are simply untrue if you actually play this game; particularly if you're not trying to play some other game through it.

    Но при всем этом разнообразие противников как в DOOM или же хорошо сбалансированных арен в игре нет. Более того, учитывая то, что все кроме пистолета, автомата и дробовика в игре опционально, можно представить насколько баланс заданий и арен не сбалансирован под полный потенциал. Более того, некоторые активности в игре как, например, башни правительства и воовсе не заточены под способности или же любое оружие, кроме дальнего боя и представляет собой одну из самых унылых вещей, которые можно только вообразить в "ураганном экшене". Также после зачистки каждой активности на карте, игра предлагает потом бродить по ней и искать не в самых очевидных местах лут для прокачки.

    В общем, неведомо зачем, игра почти везде старается вставить палки в колеса игрока, чтобы сделать его времяприпровождение более унылым, чем оно могло быть. Как мне кажется, RAGE 2 страдает распространенным недугом, а именно желанием сделать открытый мир, но при этом непониманием как это сделать хорошо, и главное зачем. Ведь как механика сюжетных заданий, так и оружия со способностями буквально заставляют тебя кататься по пустому миру с однотипными аванпостами в оргомном количестве, растягивая геймплейный цикл настолько, насколько это вообще возможно.    … Expand

    2) A very simple story that can be completed in a few hours of playing. From the very start, the game tells you to find 3 people who have only 2 missions each, after which you go to complete the final one. That’s the end of the story... I will not say that the plot is bad, but with given length of it, it turns into a short mockery on the players.
    3) Fu*ng bugs and Fu*ng optimisation. Every fifth-sixth entry the Map menu - crash of the game. Having far from the weakest computer, even at medium settings the game often gave friezes. Sometimes it passed, more often - no.    … Expand

    El resto es muy mediocre.
    - Tus compañeros iniciales los ves al principio y al final del juego. (Narrativamente no entiendo no tener más interacción con ellos)
    - La interacción con NPC's y las secundarias son muy malas.
    - El juego te obliga a hacer secundarias para avanzar en la principal.
    - Quitando al "malo" el resto de "Bosses" son el mismo.

    Sorprende caer en esta "dejadez" a la hora de hacer mundos abiertos a estas alturas...hubiera ganada muchos enteros si hubiera sido más lineal y con una historia más trabajada.

    I'd rate this game as the second or third best fast-paced arcade shooter of the year.
    The storyline is definitely not the focus, still has interesting characters and voice acting.

    RAGE 2 suffers badly from repetitious gameplay. So we got the typical open world which is filled with colorful icons to check off with the occasional random spawing in enemies. You're expected to traverse the open world with a vehicle and the on-foot combat plays like DOOM (2016).
    The gunplay (done by ID, the creators of DOOM) is really good, while the driving is bad. Not CYBERPUNK 2077    RAGE 2 suffers badly from repetitious gameplay. So we got the typical open world which is filled with colorful icons to check off with the occasional random spawing in enemies. You're expected to traverse the open world with a vehicle and the on-foot combat plays like DOOM (2016).
    The gunplay (done by ID, the creators of DOOM) is really good, while the driving is bad. Not CYBERPUNK 2077 bad, but bad nonetheless: you seriously under steer in curves, but the traction is better here.
    Story-wise don't expect Tolstoy: your base is attacked by the Authority, your commander killed and you wish to avenge her by uniting three clans to build up an army. This requires you to gain trust (I guess) of each clan, by completing quests (the colored markers scattered all over the map). Each clan (faction) has a color so you can identify which of the quests on the map help which faction.
    The problem is, like I mentioned at the beginning: repetition. Enemy bases (such as forts, gas stations) which have your run-of-the-mill human raiders or Authority Sentries. I ran into so many of them, each encounter with those sentries is exactly the same tedious: bullet-sponge shooting and dodging their charge attack. Then there's arcs that unlock weird super-human powers which are over-the-top. When you're not clearing areas of enemies you're doing fetch quests.
    Think of this as MAD MAX with an emphasis on shooting and the color pink (not joking, there is so much pink in this game, it's horrible) mixed with a bit of BORDERLANDS and a dash of FALLOUT's weirdness. I recommend skipping this one though and picking up MAD MAX instead, it has a better story, better driving, a better world and better NPCs. Even RAGE 1 is better and much cheaper.    … Expand

    Had a problem with finishing the game. I had to load previous save 2 main missions earlier and rushed them and it worked like a charm.

    Зачистил 100 аванпостов в стиле Doom под хорошую музыка и драйвовый экшен в сопровождении качественных моделек оружия и офигенного звука перезарядки. Но между аванпостами мне приходилось ездить на тачках с так себе физикой (а у байка она вообще отвратительна). А диалоги вообще хотелось скипнуть.Зачистил 100 аванпостов в стиле Doom под хорошую музыка и драйвовый экшен в сопровождении качественных моделек оружия и офигенного звука перезарядки.     Pros:
    - great FPS - first-person shooter - if this is the only thing you're looking for, then this is one of the best FPS out there
    - simple enough weapons and ammo use and upgrades, yet efficient and powerful to give you tons of fun using them - extremely simple, maybe too simple vehicles inventory and upgrades options, it's really just a car, anything else is almost useless -    Pros:
    - great FPS - first-person shooter - if this is the only thing you're looking for, then this is one of the best FPS out there
    - simple enough weapons and ammo use and upgrades, yet efficient and powerful to give you tons of fun using them
    - extremely simple, maybe too simple vehicles inventory and upgrades options, it's really just a car, anything else is almost useless
    - generous loot crates allowing you to really enjoy the hunt and exploration for them
    - nice wasteland dystopian post-apocalyptic world, but just nice enough to be beautiful in its ugliness, yet not intriguing enough to invite exploration and as such kind of dull and interesting as an open world, especially for a 2019 release year, when players have the expectations of a relatively high standard, not to mention from the labels involved stating with Bethesda and the rest
    - decent storyline, not great, not very long, not very complex, but decent enough to be fun and entertaining until you finish it
    - nice blowing up **** and crazy people and mutants animations in that wasteland
    - good sound score and lighting effects during combat missions
    - great options to customize your difficulty to fit your needs and preferences
    - the most fun to me - spoiler here - was chasing and hunting down and blowing up moving cargo convoys, that is a lot of fun... however, after you fully upgrade your ride, you'll end up with tons of "car parts" that no one wants to buy it from you, so it becomes kind of pointless to keep doing those, except maybe just for the fun of it

    Cons:
    - the open world in and of itself has great potential, yet is unused, no real estate conquering and "owning" no sense of ownership and management of some kind of real-estate, no house, no office, no base of operation, nothing to feel that you, the player, the protagonist "owns" and manages some form of real estate to add to a sense of accomplishment
    - incredible, almost unimaginable for a 2019 release, for those great names as labels, no avatar, no third-person view, and animations of your own character, no customization whatsoever, except at the start when choosing the sex, male or female, nothing else to enhance your playing experience - developed mostly in Europe, I can tell it's the lack of funds allocated to create new sets of animations for your own character as the protagonist - unacceptable in my humble opinion for a 2019 release, we're not in the early '90s playing Wolfstein, we're in 2019-2020-2012 already, the concept of the avatar was already invented

    bottom line:
    - if you'll find it on sale (like I did), and you're looking for an FPS, yes, it may worth your money and time
    - at full asking price, and if you're looking for a good open-world game, unless you have money to throw away, I would wait until eventually will go on sale
    - is it fun..??.. yes

    The combat is great and the world interesting. But somehow after finishing the game I almost immediately forgot about it. There's just something missing and generally speaking I can't recommend this. Weird game.

    It has very good graphics and gameplay.
    The beginning of the game is very good and exciting, but as we progress, the game becomes more repetitive.
    Overall, it's not a bad game, but it's not good either.

    Оптимальная сложность для первого прохождения: Высокая. P.S: Благодаря неону и супер силам, казалось, что играю в спин-офф Blood Dragon (и это плюс). 7/10    Иногда нужны такие простые игры.

    We have to admit that the single player in this game has no potential. Not everyone wants to play all day long, exploring the map, like in Fallout – it just gets boring. Rage 2 could become a perfect Battle Royale experience or pretty simple MMO, but as the game, designed for single player walkthrough, it can keep your interest only for a couple of evenings, perhaps forcing you to come back from time to time to explore all corners of this world.

    Beautiful and varied world, high-speed vehicle combat, fine-tuned gunfights - on its own, every aspect of this game is great. But Rage 2 as a whole is somehow less than sum of its parts. [Issue#238, p.34]
