Rad Rodgers is short, enemies are uninspired and level design is boring.

The only good thing is the presentation, which alone offers nothing of value. Skip

Rad Rodgers Radical Edition: It’s not a good game. Poor performance. Some things are truly bad. The sad thing is that Slipgate studios (interceptor entertainment) failed on what’s supposed to be esencial in a platformer ,and that is the jumping, aiming and shooting mechanics. And for a game released on the 2010’s that is unforgivable. This game is poorly executed . Instead of the foulRad Rodgers Radical Edition: It’s not a good game. Poor performance. Instead of the foul language, schoolyard jokes and bunch of useless characters they should have concentrated on what matters more. The last levels are endless and absurdly difficult. They just threw a bunch of mechanisms (laser totems and sawblades) for you to rage. It’s a rageathon. It’s not that you would not be able to finish it ,but you’ll have to be extremely patient to get to the end, and probably you’ll quit even before that. Expand

Rad Rodgers is a love letter to games from an older time, and manages to succeed in delivering a violent and satisfying 2D shooting experience. Unfortunately, unpolished platforming and a short length keep it from being a must play, especially considering the plethora of alternatives out there. The humour may not be for everybody, but for gamers looking for a blast from the past, Rad Rodgers is a rollicking and violent nostalgia trip to a simpler time.

At the end of the day, Rad Rodgers is a fine game that does what it sets out to do fairly successfully, it’s just that what it sets out to do isn’t anything terribly unique or special. The platforming is functional, but fails to introduce anything particularly memorable or engaging. The combat is fun, but simple, and the enemies do little more than die with a satisfying pop. Not every game needs to be groundbreaking or instantly classic, and there's nothing wrong with a game like this, that you can beat in a few pleasant lazy afternoons.

Rad Rodgers is a tautly constructed, well-paced game that doesn't outstay its welcome. Although I grew tired of the Pixelverse gimmick and wasn't always on board with the game's humor, I enjoyed its vibrant art, action and level design. Whether you're a platforming wizard or just a casual fan on the genre, Rad Rodgers will keep you entertained.
