It's everything I didn't know I wanted. Updated lighting, 2k/4k support, 2k support for 240hz, Anti aliasing, dynamic lighting and shadows, FOV slider (can change up to 125).

Includes all the expansions and a new one, mod support, multiplayer support with split screen. OH! If you already have Quake in your Steam Library you automatically get this. Other companies should take

Pretty good remake, fixing resolution problems, performance and better looks, also adding great new content.

It's a simple remaster, slightly better graphics, more modern lighting and rendering etc... However it also comes with all the old official expansion packs AND a brand new one, dimension of the machine. If like me, you already own the steam version, it gets updated to the remaster for free. It has a new nightmare mode capping your hp at 50. Don't like free updates? When you start up theIt's a simple remaster, slightly better graphics, more modern lighting and rendering etc... Good, fast and fun (while too brownish) classic FPS. With smooth framerate, incredibly fun Coop and really impressive new maps!

Unfortunately it requires Windows 10 for coop-play (which is just extortion if you ask me).

Как набор дополнительного пакета миссий очень даже неплохо. А в плане ремастера, графика вообще никак не поменялась.

Despite being a huge Doom fan, I only got around to this recently. To me, it's the "London Calling" of video games. All the more a letdown because of it's legendary status. I guess after 26 years a lot's passed it by and it still holds some nostalgia for that era. If I'd caught it back then, though, I think I might have been disappointed.

Wolfenstien 3D, Doom and Quake are kind of like the Star Wars Trilogy. W3D (Star Wars) was a new variation on a standard theme - even back then, WWII-themed games were almost cliche - which put FPS on the map. Doom (Empire Strikes Back) was a groundbreaking shift in graphics and gameplay which broke into the mainstream. While Quake...just isn't all that good.

It isn't bad by any means but it's there to show off the visual effects and 3D environments (much like Half Life 2, now that I think about it) rather than make an engaging experience. And, the environments have a deliberate try-hard-ness about them. Basically, Nine Inch Nails is the equivalent of the Ewoks from "Return of the Jedi". They're not there to add anything to gameplay or atmosphere but to create buzz and pander to the goth demographic of the 90's.

Despite all that, I'd still recommend it for the sheer nostalgia value alone. It's still the low-pressure fun and worth your time if you're into gaming history. Just manage expectations is all.

The all time great of fps comes back swinging. This version of Quake takes the cake with its all new episode. Way more than a trip down nostalgia lane. A mus play, in my opinion.

It’s not the triumphant return the series deserves, but this classic holds its own surprisingly well. 25 years later it’s still wicked fun and will surely delight nostalgic veterans, especially that the package includes four expansions, one of which is brand new and damn impressive. This legend shows that it’s still standing strong even in the year 2021. A necessary piece of gaming education for every shooter fan.
