As someone who spent their childhood cutting their teeth on Sim Tower this game rocks... I can honestly say this is one of the first tower games I've played that gave me the same excitement I felt as a kid. The developers are also very responsive on the steam forums. If you loved playing Sim Tower as a kid pick up Project Highrise - you won't be disappointed.

    Absolutely addictive.

Balancing the many (many) needs of your tenants, along with designing something aesthetically pleasing is deceptively difficult. It's true that there's not much variation between room types, but the workshop will soon sort that out. There's ALWAYS something wanting your attention and I've already been playing for a few hours and it feels like five minutes.

There's ALWAYS something wanting your attention and I've already been playing for a few hours and it feels like five minutes.

There are lots of different types of offices, restaurants, shops and apartments to build, each influencing something near it in different ways.

    For example;

One office wants greater variety in restaurants that serve dinner, you plop it down and the guy next to him starts to complain about the smell.

Meanwhile, the restaurant complains because they can't empty their rubbish, so you pop a rubbish bin down; the guy near that starts to moan about the smell and next to the restaurant has become too noisy so one of your tenants demands a rent decrease.

I love this sort of thing because it absorbs you for hours. I really love this game - I'm sure there's a perfect balance to be struck with placement but I'm yet to find it. I'm enjoying the search though!

I checked the forum to see if there were any redeeming qualities and immediately found a (locked) thread about poor balance and bugs. The developer/moderator argued incessantly with their customers and warned people despite having no cause. I then wrote a review of the boring game play and mentioned that they were awful to deal with on the forums. The developer had it flagged so it doesn't count against their negative reviews. I'm sure they're doing the same thing with other negative reviews. Beware! Expand

It's a solid tower management game. Has all the little features and bits you'd expect from a game like this. It just gets a little easy and repetitive after a little while. Worth a look for fans of sim style management games.

Project highrise is a sim tower game. The concept behind the game is interesting - build your tower and cater for your tenants whether they be office workers, residential or shops, and manage the infrastructure. However the graphics were mediocre for a game created in 2017. Additionally the game suffers in that income only comes in at midnight rather than in real time, meaning that oftenProject highrise is a sim tower game. This is a frustration that ruined the game for me. Expand

Project Highrise is a well-featured game, but has quite a few quirks and bugs.

    [][]Gameplay[][] 6/10. Okay.
The game has a campaign in the form of 15 scenarios - easy, medium, and hard - and a sandbox mode. The scenarios each have 3 challenges. Building trees are complex and large. However, the gameplay is significantly less enjoyable because of the numerous bugs.

[][]Game Time & Replayability[][] 8/10. Good.

    [][]Audio[][] 8/10. Good.
Relaxing soundtrack, well suited to a simulator game like this. Background noises are not distracting and well-recorded.

    [][]Bugs[][] 2/10. Bad.
Need extra money? Raise rents to 200% just before midnight and then lower them right after. Evictions can be done cheaply by simply lowering the tenant's rent to $0. Apartments that cannot be built below ground can be moved to the basement after being built. You can build two floors and then delete the lower one.
The game will auto-save when you exit to main menu (there is no option to turn this off) and there is no way to load except from the main menu; this can result in the auto-save you want to load being overwritten, making the auto-save feature less useful.

    [][]Overall[][] (6+6+8+8+2)/5 = 6

If u like SimTower or YootTower then Project Highrise is a game that you need to play. Though lacking the livelier invite unlike SimTower, it is still a good and fun Tower Simulator building game. I hope theres more stuffs added soon in the SteamWorksop to make my tower look unique and interesting.

A small game, fun and diversify.

You must build a tower but manage many parameters :
Does the restaurants stinks so bad it smells in the apartment upstairs ?
Does the workers makes too many noise for Mrs Smith ?
Does the doughnut stand makes enough money daily ?
Does Mister C.E.O can eat french for breakfast and italian for diner ?

    But it stays manageable !

It’s a competent, accessible sim, but there is nothing special about it, so I didn’t miss it after I stopped playing it for the sake of this review. [12/2016, p.72]

Project Highrise offers a user-friendly environment and many hours of fun with the content-rich skyscraper construction and management simulation.

A fun, varied and relaxing skyscraper sim. It can be a little bit formal at times, and there are some glaring deficiencies, but it is a welcome return to this theme nonetheless.
