Planet of Lana II is designed to improve on the original’s ideas and give fans more of what they loved. The game’s core, both in terms of story and gameplay, still lies in the connection between Lana, adventurous as ever, and Mui, now capable of engaging with puzzles in new ways. The game is well-balanced, with only a few situations where it was hard to intuit how to advance. The title’s voice acting is impressive, and I appreciate the effort to offer more biome variety, even if Lana’s animations aren’t always great. Anyone who loves the protagonists and the immersive use of an alien language should play the sequel. Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf is a good sequel that still impresses with its atmosphere, even as some of its new gameplay ideas don’t fully deliver.

Planet of Lana 2: Children of the Leaf is a truly special and emotional experience. The gameplay may not be the most innovative, but it works really well and provides lots of opportunities to explore this stunning world.

Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf successfully expands on its underrated first entry in nearly every way possible. It’s the perfect Empire Strikes Back to Planet of Lana’s New Hope: approachable, beautiful, and a great adventure worth taking.

If we had to define Planet of Lana 2 in one word, it would definitely be "maturity." The same maturity the development team has poured into this work, both in terms of story and gameplay, improving it in every aspect. Ultimately, the series is a little gem because, like its protagonist, it looks to the past with admiration while resolutely aiming for new directions in an adventure that still has much to tell.

With engaging gameplay that offers a learning curve throughout, puzzles that'll surely satisfy, and moments packed with action and emotion; Planet of Lana 2 is a true upgrade to its predecessor and another indie gem onto Wishfully Studios' belt. An emotional weight carried by its beautiful scenery and soundtrack gives Novo a voice that should never be silenced. There's harmony in its themes of greed, hope, and preservation of a place we like to call home through its fantastic storytelling and engaging, thoughtful, and innovative puzzle-platforming to craft a beautiful tale that grows more relevant each passing day.

Lana and her companion Mui are back. They are an effective team once again and must work together to solve the problems facing a beautiful world under threat from machines and slavers. Although the story is longer this time, it ultimately shows that Lana still has room for improvement.

Planet of Lana II is the sequel to Wishfully’s debut game, Planet of Lana. Like its previous title, the game continues to have outstanding visuals and an amazing score. Even then, there are some great upgrades that make this sequel that much stronger. We get more insight into Lana’s aspirations, along with Mui’s backstory. Admittedly, it’s not all perfect; Mui’s controls feel sluggish, and there’s unnecessary gameplay sandwiched between two cutscenes. With that said, there are new adorable creatures introduced that Mui can control, and the puzzles work well within the game. Sometimes sequels aren’t as good as the prequel, but this time, Planet of Lana II knocks it out of the park.

Despite not overhauling the companion-led gameplay at the core of Planet of Lana, this sequel does a tremendous job at expanding its universe, giving greater depth to its characters, and delivering another gorgeous, cinematic adventure that tugs at the heartstrings.

It sounds beautiful, looks stunning, and challenges your brain at every turn. It’s unlikely to win over players who were put off by the first game, but for fans of puzzle-platformers, it’s a must-play.

If you're looking for a cleverly balanced puzzle platformer with a great atmosphere and memorable characters, Planet of Lana II is the perfect choice. The rather subtle depiction of violence also makes the game interesting for families. However, Planet of Lana II doesn't offer any real challenges for hardcore puzzlers.

Planet of Lana 2: Children of the Leaf builds on the delightful world that the first game whisked us away to and delivers yet another beautiful and touching tale. It raises the bar when it comes to puzzles and challenges, while giving us some much-anticipated answers as to where Mui came from and the more technologically advanced society that existed in the ancient past. Lana is more grown-up here, and so the darker story feels right at home as we continue this journey with her, and I’m now left in anticipation of her next chapter.

Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf is an auditory and visual masterpiece. The clash of machine and nature may be an old trope, but it results in a beautiful aesthetic and soundscape. As for the gameplay, the puzzle solving is passable, but the lack of replayability may turn some away.

While its new mechanics integrate well, the experience remains largely predictable and too continuist, lacking the surprising moments needed to truly evolve the genre it inhabits.

Planet of Lana II continues the formula of the first game: environmental puzzles based on Lana and Mui's cooperation, a few essential controls, and simple yet fluid gameplay. The puzzles are intuitive and well-integrated into the environments, rewarding observation and timing rather than complex logic. Artistically, it remains a delight, with refined animations and a quiet yet effective narrative. However, the structure is almost identical to the original: the mechanics are often repeated, and the action is sparse, with very low difficulty. A coherent and refined sequel, but lacking in courage.

The equally stunning sequel to Planet of Lana takes the series a few steps forward, a few steps back, finishing largely where it started.

The adorable duo Lana and Mui embark on a new adventure filled with danger and puzzles. Too bad the latter become a little too repetitive in the end.

It's not better than the first one, but overall it's a good game. It's suitable for jumping into the series at any point, and I can't let you miss the chance to see and play as Mui!

Planet of Lana 2 is a worthwhile continuation that shows how emotional a beautiful story could be, even without words. The incredible art style remains unchanged from the previous game, and I felt the story held up as a sequel. The puzzles are a little bit on the easy side, but not enough to make it feel unenjoyable. The gameplay is very safe, not straying too far from what defined the original, which is both good and bad.

With its consistently sublime art direction, Wishfully needed to focus primarily on its gameplay. And so it did; the studio delivers greater variety and depth in its gameplay, and we even wished for more sequences in this vein, as they effectively break up the very linear structure of the first game. The story greatly enriches a universe that was still quite cryptic, but the ending, which takes the form of a "to be continued," leaves players wanting more and even a little frustrated.
