The games "social" system might not be as deep as in the original game but for what it's worth it does its job well letting you do optional quests for your companions and encounter in optional dialouge during your spare time and you'll be constantly interacting with you companions throughout the story.

If you have played the original Persona 5 Game this is a must play. A true masterpiece with a deep plot and good mechanics

    overview:
+ Deep and well crafted engaging plot that is simply outstanding
+ Combat is very fun and at times very engaging
+ Persona Creation and modification feature is well crafted and goes as deep as you're willing to go
+ Atmosphere and environments are outstanding
    + soundtrack is excellent
+ Character encounters throughout the game are enchanting and deep

For real an amazing game, it doesn't feel like a cheap spinoff just using the same characters from the amazing Persona 5 game, it does feel like a complete game, just a different, but very fast and exciting gameplay. This is an amazing sequel. Tons of fun, and the fact that you fight a ton of shadows really does add to the fact that The Phantom Thieves are experienced in defeating shadows by now.

As a fan of Persona 4 and 5, i cannot recommend this. Yes, it is more of a Persona game than just a musou slasher, it has lovable characters, some sort of a plot and the same world we all love.

As a fan of Persona 4 and 5, i cannot recommend this. Yes, it is more of a Persona game than just a musou slasher, it has lovable characters, some sort of a plot and the same world we all love.

    But.
The game has a clunky combat system (And I MEAN IT, i cannot enjoy the combat after Honkai Impact, a mobile game), mediocre camera, always-tight-and-cramped combat areas, non-intiuitive dodge system that cannot guarantee a dodge, unlikeable healing system. DMG-sponge minibosses that WILL hit you back because dodge is broken.

What's happening on the screen looks like a mess. A magnitude of monsters on the screen, flashes and damage numbers everywhere... you cannot enjoy your characters or cool combat moves because you basically see anything.

I do not like the way they handled "no time limit" design while trying to squeeze it into the old idea of having a calendar. Basically, you can visit the dungeon as many times in a row as you like. And you do not need to visit the shops or town activities because this time you buy stuff "online" and there's no social progression save for a generic "bond level" for the whole group that gives you skill points. So, my problem with the whole thing is it's ruining the world, your impression and your affection for the game. During the time you are playing through a dungeon, you leave it to replenish HPSP, you appear in the Cafe with the old man Sakura standing and looking at you, then you immediately go back, manage your inventory via a menu, go to a dungeon, fight, leave, replenish, go to a dungeon, back to cafe.... all in the same day. Completely ruins the Persona mood for me.

And all the game is feeling like it's repetative and trying to waste your time. Yeah, you get "palaces" again, but this time with more of a free-roam. You get your main objective at point A but it's locked and you have to visit locations B,C,D to get some shining orb and fight a miniboss. But guess what, at objective D you need to unlock the last door by ... guess what? Pulling levers E,F,G in location D.

At this point i got bored. If you like this kind of games - give it a shot.

Really great sequel, the combat is great and they implemented Persona 5 mechanics way better than I thought they would. The combat is more complex in Strikers but it lacks when compared to everything else in P5. No social links, shorter dungeons, simpler story with less characters, etc. But if you were a fan of P5 you'll love Strikers as well.

Story: 9/10, a wonderful and worthy sequel to the original but it IS significantly shorter if you've played p5/p5r. in fact you'll probably finish it in less than half that time. Be aware that playing p5/p5r is not absolutely necessary but should not be ignored either.

Gameplay: 9/10, action and combat is superb while posing a certain level of challenge that's equally rewarding.

Gameplay: 9/10, action and combat is superb while posing a certain level of challenge that's equally rewarding. However, expect frequent crashes on 1.00. I myself have had 8 crashes from start to finish.

Presentation: 9.5/10, as pretty as p5r on ps4 pro even at 1080p. UI is slick and wonderfully crafted. Other than resolution and rendering scale, there's not much of a graphical difference between min and max.

Sound design/Soundtrack; 10/10, every single attack, menu shuffle and many others sound amazing. Most if not all the tracks you loved return with their own variations for this game, with the BGM dlc you can change it up with music from past games and you can even listen to them in the menus.

Lasting impressions/appeal; 9/10, a great game to play imo and rivals that of something like nier automata. Many people might complain the other games are not on pc but what can you do.

    Overall: 9.3/10

    cons:

    - the writing is very poor and everything is super predictable

    - the gameplay although fun lacks at some key moments

    - i don't know if that was a problem for everyone but the sp management in this game is terrible there are barely any sp potions and you run out of sp so quick and there is no rest options like in the vanilla persona 5 so you have to get to a checkpoint then exit the dungeon come back and only then you will have a full hp bar and sp bar which is a total bummer for me :/

-the final boss was really meh

    - the real world was really lacking and there was barely any options of going around and talking with random people yes i know that its a spinoff but still everyone around feels like a dead puppet

    - some performance issues such as fps drops and one hard crash at the wonderland dungeon

    - the side quests were really forced boring and not that fun so after the third dungeon i just stopped doing them because it just felt like a chore at that point

-the game is a bit short for persona standards took me 30 hours to finish it

    - there are moments where the game intentionally prolongs the gameplay with tedious fetch quest /main objective and it just felt as if they doing it because they ran out of ideas but needed to put more hours in the game

    pros:

    - the music holy h@ll the music i was having so much fun listening to it and was just such a delight and i think one of the best things in the game is the music

    - animations look a lot better everything just looks and goes super smooth

    - the new characters are super awesome and i really enjoyed the new addition to the cast

    - the dungeon design is just super beautiful and finally they have some depth to them

in conclusion yea i know there are more cons than pros but still the game was super enjoyable and it is a spinoff game for all the non playstation exclusive gamers so of course it wont be as good as a normal persona game but for what it is PERSONA 5 STRIKERS is a cool game to play for over the top dynasty warriors gameplay but it does lack in the other departments so my final score to PERSONA 5 STRIKERS is a 7.5 out of 10

Nuff said, you got all these cute girls around, but you can't date even one.
So, the game offers you a middle of the road story and long dialogues with zero impact on plot development. The only thing that feels fun is combat. But as soon as you kill another boss, you get 10 minutes of dialogues and proceed to the next Jail. Unlike in original p5 where you got a week of free time to hang out with your girlfriends and have fun.

Once you master that one technique literally nothing in the game presents a challenge on any difficulty. Dodge can dodge everything in the game and auto counters if you can even kind of land it. Additionally because there is no restriction on using items (it stops combat to use an item), and no restriction on leaving the dungeon, full healing and just comng back in... its just way TOO EASY. Overall its not great enough combat to justify the existence of the whole game but would be awesome to see it utilizied in future Persona titles like P6. Hopefully they can utilize it for certain scenarios and events in dungeons.

The music is also banging... but most of it is just Persona 5's music, many of the new songs come off as quickly made video game music that doesn't have that same flair and doesn't mesh with the game llike most persona titles soundtracks.

Now for the bad; The story is appalling; the new characters is a bait and switch literally because subverting expectations (in and of itself) means you've succeeded at writing. Its kind of insulting seeing them just pretend nothing came of the first game. Cops know the Phantom thieves and are willing to pin any crime on them at the drop of the hat. Good to know we didn't fix anything in the justice system. Politicians and CEO's are as corrupt as ever, basically you made no impact on the world and nothing has changed... good starting point. The game starts by informing you the player that everyone (except the lovely ann) has basically forgotten about you and puts no effort into maintaining your friendship. All those confidants just immediately were like pish posh to that **** So now you get an AI friend to do everything cause plot would be hard to write so we'll just quickly exposition all that away with this AI can solve everything. If you know anything about how AI's work this **** will be laughable to you, its so like AI = GODs that its impossible to take it serious. The villain is also using AI's... AI's everywhere because; again, writing anything would be hard, so just add AI's and make them "Deus Ex" everything that would normally be plot.

I consdered Persona 5's writing a downgrade from 3 and 4 and this stuff is a far leap lower than that, Id be really shocked to hear any of the writers say they tried with the story, I like to imagine they'd be open to saying "yeah we kinda slapped it together to meet a deadline."

Now for the true reason Im giving it a dog**** score... My game has crashed roughly 20 times, for some reason loading screens have a roughly 10% chance to just turn the game off... this is extra frustrating because the game doesn't have any sort of autosave feature. There isn't any reason for it to use the old school JRPG "you have to save manually" model of saving. There aren't decisions to be made about how you spend your time... they just kept mechanics for a different type of game in this new game... could you imagine playing Dynasty warriors or Hyrule warriors and having to manually save constantly during missions and after missions and on menus, its just stupid. So i have to constantly save to not risk losing any progress made but consistently have to redo 5 to 10 minute bursts because I have to get from one save point to another. (Don't bother blaming my build, its literally the best of the best available, i cannot upgrade any piece of the build as no better hardware exists at the time of writing this.)

If you want to play it... go for it, but pick it up on console they seem to be more stable. The frequency and sporadicness of the crashing make me question any review that doesn't notate it, Not one person i know has played without a crash on PC and its so bad for some they've completely abandoned the game. I know someone playing on PS4 with 0 issue so thats a good platform as I hear it.

First, I would strongly recommend coming here after playing the original persona 5 or better persona 5 royal (even though in this case some elements would not be cannon with this story). First, it is a sequel / OVA so starting by the second entry is a bit silly, second a good half of the persona experience is your link with its cast of characters so, even if most of the mechanics of the story are re-explained, you would miss a lot a things, and persona 5 is one of the best games of last generation sooo...

Anyway, presentation wise, exactly like its predecessor, this game is pristine, beautiful, inspired and varied environments, the music (again) is awesome, great animation works... It just radiates quality.
Same thing in the writing department, the characters are as endearing as ever, and the additions to the thieves are very welcome, but the plot is a tad predictable sometimes.
The problem arises in the gameplay department, the moment-to-moment gameplay is clearly an experiment here, sometimes fighting can be tedious because of the stuck camera, lack of clarity, and the amount of enemies / time to dispatch them… when it’s good it is really good you dodge and weave through the enemies with grace… until nothing shows you that another enemy is about to one shot from behind… Also, some jails (think palaces in p5) are a bit too big and revisiting them can be a bit tedious. The fusion system is a bit more tedious with level requirement for fusions components. And for the out of jail part, it is good, the confident system has been replaced by a much simpler system that allows you to unlock bonuses by collecting points doing requests (simple quests), after story event and during fighting, simpler but fitting for this much simpler game.
Anyway, it is a quality game with some gameplay inconsistencies, though even though it is less good than its mainline entry, I enjoyed it a great deal and if you liked p5 you should too! Though I would really love to see another iteration on these mechanics, a p6s maybe?
Anyway, it’s time for you to tear your mask out, right?

Finally if the dating simulator and confidant are key to your enjoyment of persona 5 then it might be that persona 5 strikers is not for you since it lacks these features.

HOWEVER I do want to say that persona 5 strikers is a great game and any fan should be advised to play it. My review is now below if you want to read it.

    A Trip to Remember

Persona 5 strikers changes a lot of things for the phantom thieves, your school, schedule and confidants are absent, but you get the chance to go on a road trip with all your friends. Never has a game been more on the edge between a sequel and a spin off, but strikers delivers were it counts.

The combat is entretaining and challenging, just as you would expect from a persona game, the only change this time is that the combat is in real time and you fight hordes of enemies. There was a time were rumours of persona 5 was being developed as an action RPG instead of the turn combat system that we got, and I feel that a lot of the ideas for strikers were taken directly from the attempts the developers did during that time.

Combat is smooth, responsive and fun. Giving you plenty of depth whilst keeping the simplicity of the persona series. Of all the action rpg games I've played, the gameplay of strikers is definitely up there with the greats. Only issue that I had was ocassional camera control problems, were it was difficult to track the enemies. Additionally another small problem that occurred during gameplay is that the screen can be filled with effects during intense combat. However this never was a longstanding issue and I enjoyed my 40 plus hours I spent whilst completing the game.

The lack of confidants is a bummer and I do wish that we had more of a chance to spend time with our faves, however the game does deliver on the emotional character development and arcs of previous persona titles and I was roped from the first hours up till the end of our long road trip.

I would like to say that persona 5 strikers is not for everyone, I would not recommend this game if you haven't played the past persona 5 games, but for everyone else I think you owe it to yourself to experience the game. Get a demo and try it for yourself, see if this game is for you. There is plenty to love and to do in Strikers and I'm sure that those persona fans will appreciate a final send off for the phantom thieves.

En conclusión un buen mushou, divertido, y que disfrutaras si sabes a lo que vas ya que pillaras referencias del persona 5 original.

I cannot rate it anything higher than a 7 because I can't say that there's something in the game that has really stood out to me while playing it. Character development? Only 2-3 characters really showed some development, the OG squad didn't really change anything. Combat system? An 8 at best, it is standard. Story? Average, and it really requires you to have played the OG Persona 5, while being sold as another game. That means, another 60$ to Atlus. Maybe I could point out that the art style is as good as P5.

Don't get me wrong, I think the game works for what it is, but giving it a 9 would be an insult for other games rated that high, and it would be rated lower if it didn't have that "Persona feel". I think that P5S would have worked better as an animated OVA or something similar.

Persona 5 Strikers is a great Musou game, and even though for veterans of the series it might feel intimidating but it’s worth it for the plot. The game runs so well on PC but it does beg the question: why isn't Persona 5 on PC yet? It’s time to bring it to other consoles other then the PS4 so more players will get to experience the full story.

It is hard to say this is a great Persona title. The combat is fun and punchy, the story cool and on point, and there are some attractive design sensibilities. Unfortunately, the overall experience doesn't feel as cohesive as it could. At its core there is a great Persona story and experience but the move to the new systems and Omega Force's take on the series highlights why it is that Persona needs its turn-based combat and carefully considered character narratives. This is an excellent title in its own right and probably Omega Force's best work yet. It's just lacking that special something that would make it a stellar Persona title. It might have worked better as an expansion to the original Persona 5 as the story is awesome.
