A wonderful story of heartbreak and isolation. Make sure to read the content warnings, and don't be afraid to take a break and spend time with someone you love

As one of those who waited for almost 7 years, I should say that this game was worth the wait. It has both the finesse in its soundtrack and narrative. I have left with no words to describe how great this game is. It's a game everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. Consequently, Omori is a gem that deserves a recognition on par with Earthbound and Undertale.

A game with a excellent story-telling, lovable characters (except for Basil, i hate basil so much), and an interesting team mechanic in battle (emotions).

It has an incredible art-style that fits perfectly in the story, the plot twist is amazing and you can't never foretell what happened until the end (except if you've been spoiled). I love Aubrey and Hero, these are the best

I love Aubrey and Hero, these are the best characters in the game and you can empathize with them as well because these are human characters and well written.

The game tells you about depression, isolation, self-forgiveness, moving forward and gives you the dilemma about forgiving characters or not (not included in the game, just a dilemma made by the story-telling).

Can you move forward with a sin that you can't forgive made by yourself? Feeling the weight of the guilt crawling in yourself?

Must play, a masterpiece of story-telling.
    10/10 Such a incredible experience.

Fantastic and surprising. I knew going in that the art and music direction would be great, but the battle system was complex and engaging and the story (especially the ending) really blew me away. A must-play for fans of Earthbound or RPGmaker games.

If you like games like Earthbound and Undertale, this game is very similar to them, but has a bit more psychological horror. The art is really pleasant to look at and the combat is fun. Highly recommend you play this.

Not only is OMORI a masterclass in storytelling, with the themes of depression and loneliness being interwoven perfectly into the story and characters, but the spin on typical RPG combat with the emotion system changes OMORI from an amazing indie to quite possibly one of the deepest, complex, and best games of all time.

OMORI is nothing short of a grand artistic statement, which has boiled within the mind of its creator for more than a decade, brought to the gaming sphere as an intricate, detailed and personal expression, of the meaning of friendship, escapism and trauma.

Honestly, one of the best digital narrative experiences currently available for purchase, standing alongside Nier Automata, Undertale

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is an amazing experience to anyone playing this game because of its beautiful soundtrack, insane content and old but still being attractive enough gameplay and combat system (the skills, toys, emotions, ...)

The graphics is also an addition to this game, firstly it tricks us with White Space, a beautiful imagination world with OMORI's friend and cute mobs and peaceful layout. The story gets darker when we get back to Faraway (The world where Sunny lives) and sees nightmare thourgh Sunny's eyes, then goes back to White Space once again so we know White Space is just an imagination world, we start travelling bc most of the time we get in White Space and then goes back the the Faraway, with some detail so we know Sunny's going to move away and many things happen with real Kel, Aubrey, Hero, Basil and most importantly: Mari is dead.
We keep adventuring until we get to Black Space, a corrupted place with many creepy monster and then the ending, brutal but perfect.
So the upsides of OMORI is:
    + Good layout, soundtrack
+ Intense storyline, reflects many people nowadays who scroll them inside just because of a lifetime mistake so they can actually know that mistakes will never be forgotten, but we have to face up to it and head to the future
+ The fact that it has many hidden secrets and achievements so its the motivation to play this game again
+ How they arrange the "OMORI" with the sentence: OMORI did not succumb, helping us with a second chance to fight the monster while against us at the end.
    Downsides:
+ Shortage of save slots, which makes the game intensively annoying to play again if you are a secret/achievement hunter.
+This game is too long and the storyline is low speed so its boring for the people aged 11-14 (the age group usually has the habit to like something fast but still fun and attractive) and the map is too big that makes finding KEY hard and pitful.
Anyway, this game is still amazing so that you will think about it for a week after finishing the game. A masterpiece at some point tho.

When I first started the game, I was under the impression that it was going to be the Undertale of 2021, but I don't think that title does this game justice. I have played a lot of story games in my life, and there has not been one that has impacted me as much as Omori's. That being said, I don't think that I can give this game a 10.
There is one huge gripe that I have with this game which unfortunately holds it back from reaching its potential quite a bit. Pacing. To put it simply, Omori is a 20 hour game with 8-10 hours of filler content. It is really unfortunate that this is the case, because there were so many parts of the game where I was on the edge of my seat only to be distracted by a 3 hour sequence that for the most part, is meaningless to the main story. I would describe Omori like climbing a mountain, reaching the peak, and then climbing a bigger mountain immediately afterward. Sure, climbing the mountain is a huge part of the fun, but sometimes you just wanna stop and look at the view.
Overall, Omori is a fantastic and impactful game that I think everyone should play, but just be ready for its horrendous pacing. If the game was like 8 hours shorter (or if more of this content was optional) I would have easily been able to give it a 10/10. I recommend this game.

The best game I've seen in a while. I have not been fond of RPG Maker games, but this is an exception. Not only did the story grab me by the soul, but also, to my surprise, the gameplay turned out to be very, very interesting to me. Although the action is step-by-step, which has been trampled for a long time, very interesting chips have been added that make this gameplay more interesting. There are not as many battles, and if you have not played a turn-based action game before, then you will not be bored from fighting almost the entire game. Almost? Yes... The game was made for 6 years, so they made a big and interesting world, they even overdid it, and an ordinary player, like me, can sometimes become bored to explore just every chip, so you will want to skip some places. So it's better not to pass this game in one go (especially 20 HOURS OF GAMEPLAY). After a break of a few days, you will be ready to explore this really good world again. Although the game can be called protracted, but all the quests do not force you to pass, but just give a lot for that money - and this is good. The plot is very well woven, it grabs the soul, and the narrative is one of its main advantages. I will say this: this is not a game with a good plot, it is primarily a masterpiece plot with a wonderful (really good) game. At times when you get tired of the usual gameplay, the game teaches you a change of scenery to another world and gives you a portion of the plot, interest is immediately gained. Everything is perfect. The soul was included in the game to the maximum. The case when the developers did not try to make their own triple A, but carefully polished their brainchild. According to my observation, this has not happened recently in any other part of the gaming industry. The game even made me think, and change some things in myself. Expand

The gameplay is a bit easy at the start but you’ll (maybe) find yourself struggling with the final bosses or if you go for the Omori or “Another” route, you really need to grind for that. For me playing this game was a very unique and heartbreaking experience, please give this game a chance. Expand

This game is a true masterpiece, everything on it is beautiful... the art, the music, the history, the characters, an so on; I've never been so emotionally devastated in my life than at the end of this game. Clearly, not everyone would like it so much, but if you can play, just do it, probably will be a great experience, maybe even the best in a videogame.

The only thing I found negative was the lack of NG+ replayability, like text skipping not being a thing, or cutscene skipping, or no option for low-level enemies being skippable like they are in Earthbound. These are fairly minor though and don't really apply to the first playthrough. Expand

Wonderful music, environments, exploration, characters, fun combat and a well paced story that has horror elements tied perfectly into the otherwise whimsical tone of the game. While I have been lucky enough to not lose a loved one to tragedy, Omori still managed to make me feel the despair of losing someone cherished, and the powerless feeling of being able to do nothing to bring them back was replicated perfectly. The game tackles the idea of acceptance and escapism beautifully, and when the credits rolled, I did not move for a while. It is one of those persistent games that follows players even after putting the controller down. I think about it more than I expected to; it creeps in at night before I sleep, and whenever I come across a screenshot or hear the name, something in me just recalls the weight of it immediately. People process loss in completely different ways and at completely different speeds, and Omori never pretends otherwise. What makes it so remarkable is that it does not ask players to have lived through something specific to feel it. It just asks for attention. And with attention, Omori will find something in players to pull on regardless of what their lives look like.

Omori is certainly not for everyone. Someone who values gameplay much higher than storytelling will come away feeling bored and frustrated with the overall experience. However, those who value a game's plot and the emotions that games can elicit will never be able to shake Omori from their headspace. It is a flawed game in many aspects, but I can't help thinking about it throughout my daily life (especially while opening up the spice cabinet), even having finished the game over a month ago. While the entire middle of the game can be frustrating due to its poor design, the third act is well worth everything that comes before it. In the end, everything else faded away, and it all felt worth it.

Having played through OMORI, I’m confident say that it’s an experience I won’t forget. This is a game I wholeheartedly recommend for those that appreciate a good story. With a strong emphasis on catharsis, it has a lot up its sleeves. The cutesy and colorful presentation hides a grim reality and it hits hard. Highly recommended, OMORI is a gem of a game that definitely deserves recognition.
