20 hour psychological horror RPG with not only an amazing and unique story that DOESN'T feel like an undertale or DDLC clone but feels completely like it's own thing and also has satisfying turn based combat?! Please buy this game.

Beautiful game, absolutely heart-breaking, offering rich experience, there are a lot of fun and surprises but getting really sad at the end. Recommend buying at full price.

one of the best games i ever played, its not perfect beacuse it has errors: the the headspace its very long and its not important to the principal history. but the story, the music, and the battles. are incredible. 8/10

Just play the game. Seriously. You won't regret it. I'd say more, but this is a game you should experience completely blind like I did back in 2021. It still affects me to this day like no other game has.

Omori is in __my own opinion__ the best indie rpg that there is, while deltarune, and undertale are really shoulder to shoulder with the rating, I do want to say that omori comes out on top, because of how it makes you feel throughout and especially at the end, it takes its time making you fall in love with the characters, all the while slowly unraveling a deeply saddening story of dealing with trauma, and overcoming guilt. And by the end of it you see everything in a new light, making you want to replay to see and understand why everything was the way it is. made by a very small team with basically no gamedev experience, this is incredibly impressive, both storywise, and gameplay wise. Overall, I think the game was worth the wait. And I am off to listen to the OST for the 75th time

One of the darkest media I ever experienced. Ton of easter eggs, ton of interaction, an impressive story and one of the best indie game I played.

OMORI contrasts idyllic childhood memories, a mundane present, and dark inner turmoil, but doesn't do enough to connect them.

It takes players on a journey through the mind of the protagonist, exploring themes of friendship, trauma, and self-discovery. The game's narrative is filled with twists, turns, and deep character development, keeping players engaged and invested in the outcome. The way Omori gradually unveils the layers of its story, weaving together a complex web of emotions and mysteries, is nothing short of remarkable. The writing is poignant and thought-provoking, delving into dark and introspective themes with subtlety and grace. It's a testament to the game's storytelling prowess that it manages to evoke a wide range of emotions, from joy and laughter to sadness and introspection, leaving a lasting impact on players long after they've completed the game.

Omori's combat mechanics may not be its strongest aspect, but they still offer an enjoyable and strategic experience. The turn-based battles are well-designed, incorporating a unique emotion system that adds depth and strategy to the gameplay. Each character has their own set of skills and abilities, and understanding how to utilize their emotions effectively becomes crucial in defeating enemies. The game encourages experimentation and party synergy, allowing players to discover powerful combinations and strategies. While combat may not be the main focus of Omori, it serves as an engaging complement to the game's narrative and exploration elements, providing moments of challenge and reward.

What truly sets Omori apart is its genius in creating immersive and rich environments, along with well-developed NPCs and party members. The game's mix of hand-drawn and pixel art style is breathtaking, creating a dreamlike and ethereal atmosphere. The environments are meticulously crafted, offering a sense of exploration and discovery as players navigate through various surreal and imaginative locations. The NPCs in Omori are memorable and complex, each with their own struggles and stories to tell. The character development is exceptional, as players gradually uncover the secrets and motivations behind each character, forging deep connections and empathy along the way. The game's attention to detail in both its environments and characters adds depth and immersion to the overall experience, solidifying Omori as a true work of art.

The plot twist at the end ruined anything that the story had going for itself because it was so unbelievably stupid I couldn't believe it. It is such an unbelievable and unrealistic plot. The Nintendo Switch version has content and boss fights that the PC version does not have, but easily could if the developers would just add it. I could go on about OMOCAT but that doesn't have anything to do with the game. Overall, I feel all time I spent playing this game was just a huge waste because at the end, it was really unsatisfying and not worth the 30 hours of practically nothing. I don't recommend buying this game. Watching a YouTuber play the game is really the better option, because trust me, you are not missing out. Expand

One of the greatest games for me. I'll never forget this "dreamland" bright art-style and the story. Gameplay is just fine, not the best one though. This game is not about the combat - it is about the feelings and atmosphere. What a shame that this game is not that popular, it absolutely deserves more attention.

Very dark game. Captures the theme of depression amazingly. The RPG concept is also pretty fun. Characters are amazing and the story is amazing. A perfect RPG. If you like undertale try this game out def.

In terms of exploration and gameplay, this game is creative and quality, but not close to as solid as what the classics of this genre has to offer (f.e. Shin megami tensei nocturne). Where this game excels at is narration and traumatizing the player, and that it does flawlessly.

This game is very emotional and kind of heartbreaking. The gameplay is creative, altough it stretches for a long time. The best thing is by far the storytelling. It contains something special, that reminded me of my childhood perspective on the world.

While I have been lucky enough to not lose a loved one to tragedy, Omori still managed to make me feel the despair of losing someone cherished, and the powerless feeling of being able to do nothing to bring them back was replicated perfectly. The game tackles the idea of acceptance and escapism beautifully, and when the credits rolled, I did not move for a while. It is one of those persistent games that follows players even after putting the controller down. I think about it more than I expected to; it creeps in at night before I sleep, and whenever I come across a screenshot or hear the name, something in me just recalls the weight of it immediately. People process loss in completely different ways and at completely different speeds, and Omori never pretends otherwise. What makes it so remarkable is that it does not ask players to have lived through something specific to feel it. It just asks for attention. And with attention, Omori will find something in players to pull on regardless of what their lives look like.

Omori is certainly not for everyone. Someone who values gameplay much higher than storytelling will come away feeling bored and frustrated with the overall experience. However, those who value a game's plot and the emotions that games can elicit will never be able to shake Omori from their headspace. It is a flawed game in many aspects, but I can't help thinking about it throughout my daily life (especially while opening up the spice cabinet), even having finished the game over a month ago. While the entire middle of the game can be frustrating due to its poor design, the third act is well worth everything that comes before it. In the end, everything else faded away, and it all felt worth it.

Having played through OMORI, I’m confident say that it’s an experience I won’t forget. This is a game I wholeheartedly recommend for those that appreciate a good story. With a strong emphasis on catharsis, it has a lot up its sleeves. The cutesy and colorful presentation hides a grim reality and it hits hard. Highly recommended, OMORI is a gem of a game that definitely deserves recognition.
