    Gameplay is fine, neighborhood is updated from last year. Story is meh as always, but beware the microtransactions that are lurking around every damn corner. Myleague and gm are reskins of past years for the most part which is a bummer.

    This is a bad game, worse than the 2k20, its not worth it even for free. There is a lot more of micro-transactions, have the same gameplay and feel of the last one but with a really, really bad story mode.

    I got this game for free at Epic months ago and I decided to try it today. I really liked NBA 2K20 on PS4 and I was just expecting something as good on PC.

    But I couldn't. The game simply didn't run on my PC. I can play a lot of game on ultra, some of them on high. I don't remember last time I had to set some game on medium but this one didn't run at low config. Bizarre! I don't know,    I got this game for free at Epic months ago and I decided to try it today. Probably the worst otimized game I'v ever seen.

    Wish they would read the reviews and make the suggested changes from years past to make a game the community loves.

    Cheaters, cheaters, a lot of cheaters in the park. 2k did nothing with that. If you wanna play competitive multiplayer game then NBA 2K are last title to choose.

    so how do improve upon the trash fire release that was nba2k20? sell the same game again with minor changes (anew even worse shot meter, and 1 more park!) and hundreds of more bugs!

    They quietly added unskippable advertisements after launch. A shady practice as the games would be rated down into oblivion and sales would drop significantly. On top of that it seems just to be optimized to get more money out of you from microtransactions. Also there are no great additions or changes compared to previous incarnations.     I'm really mad. The PC version won't have a Next-gen update and the game was released even before the 2020 Finals, so the squads were the same as NBA 2K20. The game is also focused on you spending a lot of money for MyTeam and MyPlayer. Abusive politics, just run away!

    If they were honest they would have waited for the current season to be concluded and release a next gen version for the PC alongside the new consoles', but they had to rush this release for the current gen in spite of the Covid-19 situation because they wanted to grab some extra cash from the fanboys who would buy anything they throw at them. Add the microtransactions that this game continues to be littered with and you get the picture. It's shameful. The basic game is ok but I'd rather go back and play an earlier version which was more fun too. Time to stop feeding their money-making machine.    … Expand

    Thankfully I got this game for free on a promotion as the announcer comes on and goes full SJW/Woke. I play games to forget life, and not to have political propaganda pushed down my throat. Going back to 2K15.

    The worst thing I ever played everything they added is god awful. A showcase of Copy Paste at its finest. I hate people that support these greedy companies, I have issued a refund and am going to get a good story game that's worth my money rather than this absolute garbage.

    I spent a little over an hour downloading this and it's trash. The game is on pc but isn't even optimized for pc, tells me to press 1, 2, 3, 4 and other buttons on controller and even when I plugged in my controller it didn't recognize almost any button, only 2 and 3. It is very hard to find settings, first you have to go to features and then get into settings, and it was hell navigatingI spent a little over an hour downloading this and it's trash.     All in all, NBA 2K21 still holds the bar, but there is very little incentive to switch to this version if you had your fill of 2K20, unless you’re a dedicated fan of MyTeam.

    For the players who have invested heavily both time and money on a previous iteration, NBA2K21 has nothing new to offer. The new MyCareer story and the necessary roster updates would not justify a purchase at its full price. Our grade refers to the technical aspects of the game, but we are highly critical on how the series have devolved into a microtransactions Pay2Progress model.

    An overall extremely well-made and enjoyable basketball game with a variety of modes and teams. That does not stop NBA 2K21 from sabotaging itself through a vast number of microtransactions that become necessary to progress in the My Team and My Career modes.
