    This game is just not good. Absolute horrible. The games have been on a steady decline for a bit now. This game might be the nail in the coffin.

    Before you would miss open layups often (every 2k in memory), now you miss open jumpers 95% of the time. CPUs brick, humans brick. Haven't bothered with micro transaction park, but player control and quick matches is like watching middle school basketball. Nobody makes anything.

    The only way to play this horrible basketball game is to cherry pick and sit in the paint.     The worst thing I ever played everything they added is god awful. A showcase of Copy Paste at its finest. I hate people that support these greedy companies, I have issued a refund and am going to get a good story game that's worth my money rather than this absolute garbage.

Or I'm sorry it's actually $100 for the Mamba Forever edition, you know the one that profits off the passing of a hero for an unjustified price.     I'm really mad. The PC version won't have a Next-gen update and the game was released even before the 2020 Finals, so the squads were the same as NBA 2K20. The game is also focused on you spending a lot of money for MyTeam and MyPlayer. Abusive politics, just run away!

    If they were honest they would have waited for the current season to be concluded and release a next gen version for the PC alongside the new consoles', but they had to rush this release for the current gen in spite of the Covid-19 situation because they wanted to grab some extra cash from the fanboys who would buy anything they throw at them. Add the microtransactions that this game continues to be littered with and you get the picture. It's shameful. The basic game is ok but I'd rather go back and play an earlier version which was more fun too. Time to stop feeding their money-making machine.    … Expand

    Every new feature is awful. You may have 90 3pt and shoot 20 almost green shot, if you are like 1 goes in. Just play 2k20 if you really need to

    The game is really frustarting. First the new new shot meter looks good, but you can't hit the the shots any more, even with or without the Pro-Stick function. I had the shot shot timed so many times that it would be green, but somehow the shot didnt got in. I just made 8 out of 40 shots attempts. The defense is to overpowered, I had games that ended with 37-40 and 12 blocks on 7 minutesThe game is really frustarting. The servers are also to slow, i had an extreme input lag while playing online. Also the Ai is really dumb or hard to play, because you´really cant create space to the defender or try to get free, but on the other side of the Court my team let's the oppenent easily pass trough. The last thing i hate about the game is the pay to win system in Myteam and MyCareer, because if you pay for VC your player is a 99 without playinmg a minute.
    They should base your player progress on how you play, like in fifa the player career. If you dont buy VC and try to play my´Career without buying extra VC you are perfoming to bad and make slowly progress, They should also seperate the player builds from myCareer offline and for the park etc..
    All in all this game is worse and Iam playing 2kgames since nba 2k12 but had the felling that the games getting really bad since NBA2k18, 2k12, 2k15,16 where really great games, but 2k21 is far away from that games.    … Expand

    This game is a DISGUSTING CASH GRAB. I somehow got loaded into an empty Park, and so I invited my girlfriend and 2 friends to play. We played all night throwing ally oops having fun. The next day we all received a message saying we're banned from the game. After spending $100 for the game and $100 for vc, im banned for throwing too many ally oops?     They quietly added unskippable advertisements after launch. A shady practice as the games would be rated down into oblivion and sales would drop significantly. On top of that it seems just to be optimized to get more money out of you from microtransactions. Also there are no great additions or changes compared to previous incarnations.     Thankfully I got this game for free on a promotion as the announcer comes on and goes full SJW/Woke. I play games to forget life, and not to have political propaganda pushed down my throat. Going back to 2K15.

    All in all, NBA 2K21 still holds the bar, but there is very little incentive to switch to this version if you had your fill of 2K20, unless you’re a dedicated fan of MyTeam.

    For the players who have invested heavily both time and money on a previous iteration, NBA2K21 has nothing new to offer. The new MyCareer story and the necessary roster updates would not justify a purchase at its full price. Our grade refers to the technical aspects of the game, but we are highly critical on how the series have devolved into a microtransactions Pay2Progress model.

    An overall extremely well-made and enjoyable basketball game with a variety of modes and teams. That does not stop NBA 2K21 from sabotaging itself through a vast number of microtransactions that become necessary to progress in the My Team and My Career modes.
