    So, I finally decided to check out what kind of game I got for free from Epic Games a couple of years ago.
    Previously, I was not allowed to do this by its unreasonably huge volume, it requires as much as 100 gigabytes to install.

    The first thing I encountered was racism. The game does not allow you to create a player with the surname Black or any of its variations for playing in singleplayer. Then I had to watch 4 minutes of unskippable cutscenes with GTA Vice City level graphics.
    But when I tried to start the game in the "my team" mode, there all the packs were personified by black players. Double standards?
    Eventually I stopped paying attention to it and wanted to just learn how to play the basics, but it didn't work out. In the game, many important buttons are assigned to the numpad, but of course I don’t have it in my 60% keyboard. I remapped the control buttons three times, but the changes didn't save each time.
    I will not buy a gamepad for this one game, for all other games I am quite satisfied with the keyboard.    … Expand

    2k is terrible. It's an all around bad game. The developers are truly not good at what they do. Every year they inch farther from incompetence and closer to actual fraud. Most releases are visibly unfinished and missing content/ voice overs etc. Just awful, not fun, terrible gameplay- do NOT buy.

Yes, in 2k22 changed the control in Slam dunk contest, (new is well forgotten old) but everything else, these presentations of players, these old courts, even the animation celebration, all we see it for over 10 years, the same thing, the only thing that changes so graphics ... starting with 2k16 game disappoints me, and judging by the reviews, not only me. (Для тех, кто скажет, что нужно прокачивать игрока. У меня slasher 98 OVR) И, уже из года в год All-star weekend не меняется. Где этот крутой данк контест из 2k8-2k10?? Да, в 2k22 изменили управление в Slam dunk contest, (новое - это хорошо забытое старое) но всё остальное, эти презентации игроков, эти старые корты, даже анимация празднования, всё это мы наблюдаем уже больше 10 лет, одно и тоже, единственное что меняется так это графика... начиная с 2k16 игра меня разочаровывает, и судя по отзывам, не только меня.     Anytime I start winning a game, all the characters I don't control start fouling everyone and they never miss a free throw. I've tried replaying the "Be a Pro" at least 7 times now. No matter how insane i play, the game makes the other team score an impossible three, or makes my team foul them, or make me sit out and come    I never leave reviews, I made this account just for this game.

At first i thought i was just bad, but on my 7th attempt and again struggling so hard to stay in the lead, i asked myself why i was even playing this game.

    I love when games blur the lines between sports and rpg; my favorite thing to do after a long day of not being good at sports is come home and enter a world where a characther that looks vagely like me is an unstoppable sports-god. Usually these game modes at least have options for difficulty; I don't like EA at all but at least like EA's NHL's career modes always have an insane amount of sliders to adjust absolutely everything. I get it im not the best at video games, but i shouldn't have to be white knuckling the controller, concentrating like a F1 driver just to tie if i dont want to. I feel like I should be able to play the game with one hand, stoned and still be able to make the first round draft if i want to, but they don't even give a simple difficulty option. Even changing the only difficulty option in the main settings had no effect on the insanely aggressive rubber-banding, or at least it feels like rubberbanding...

    If it is rubber-banding, actively changing the outcome as i start doing well, then this is a baffling decision, if it isnt rubber-banding and this is just the AI being the AI, then this game is just bad. Its already bad, this game is so unpolished and anyone whos actually a fan of basketball can probably tell you all the ways it sucks, but i just wanted to play the career mode, i already have such little expectations for this stuff, and NBA 2K21 really sunk to a new low, i would prefer an EA game to this and EA makes million-dollar shovelware. It really feels like extortion for middle schoolers with xboxs who like sports, these sports games feature decade old code, built on the same platforms they've been made on for years and years, the latest sports titles are worth $15 at most, yet they will continue to sell thousands of copies for $60, and i haven't even said anything about microtransactions that significantly increases your players statistics. Wow.

    This game is bad and that makes me sad, i want a good basketball rpg, and i enjoyed the intro to the story it was interesting, not a perfect story by any means, but fun and engaging, however the gameplay was so so aggravating, maybe its cause im not exactly a basketball fan, but for how long i put into the game, i hoped that i would get good enough to at least enjoy myself however, im now here, frustratingly typing a review no one's gonna read.

    At least i got it for free, but i would like the time i spent on it back, I really gave it the benefit of the doubt and it was not worth it. I dont just wanna talk trash, so here 2k, here is all i want from a $60 Basketball game:

    1. Difficulty setting and a lot of game adjusting sliders for both AI and Human players (like NHL does)
    2. Microtransactions should never affect stats, you should be able to buy clothes and shoes or hell, even hairstyles, i dont care, just dont make me pay money to make my fake digital mans shooting stat go from 67 to 68, that is just an insult.
    3. You should be able to restart games in the Pro mode if your losing, this isnt real life, this is a video game. luckily you can just close the game and restart and re try for a win, but you gotta sit through the cutscenes again just to get a lead and then have it lost cause my teammates won't stop fouling.
    4. Make a new engine and then update the roster for a few years, then remake the engine again. if you even wanna charge a $10 for the new roster then so be it, just stop reselling the same game over again, its insulting to your customers.
    5. Stop making these games. its clear you don't want to make these games, no ones forcing you, there are easier, more ethical ways to make money, it really feels like thats all you care about.

    Idk why i wasted my time writing this, probably cause i feel i deserve compensation for my time, i really just want 2k and EA to either stop or make better games, cause I got 2k21 for free and i still feel cheated.    … Expand

    Wow, the artificial difficulty in this year is like no others. Terrence Davis hitting a contested turnaround 3? it's fine cause the a.i. did it. Shaq throwing up a layup with no defence around? Well, **** you it's 87% contested. Going up to block a shot too bad it actually does not register that youre there. I am glad I did not have to pay for this atrocity cause it is literally unplayableWow, the artificial difficulty in this year is like no others.     This is a bad game, worse than the 2k20, its not worth it even for free. There is a lot more of micro-transactions, have the same gameplay and feel of the last one but with a really, really bad story mode.

    The game is not worth buying for PC. Its disgusting and everytime i play it i want to cut my veins and bleed out. Multyplayer is unplayable because of the lag, it actually feels like you are playing with 300 ping. Players are so much overpriced compared to consoles, sadly NBA doesnt read this site to see the ratings and reviews

    Got it free from Epic Games, well i Know why it was free. The Controll settings was **** nothing worked normal no graphics settings. Just bugging this game is absolute **** and unplayable on pc

The game is on pc but isn't even optimized for pc, tells me to press 1, 2, 3, 4 and other buttons on controller and even when I plugged in my controller it didn't recognize almost any button, only 2 and 3. It is very hard to find settings, first you have to go to features and then get into settings, and it was hell navigatingI spent a little over an hour downloading this and it's trash.     Thankfully I got this game for free on a promotion as the announcer comes on and goes full SJW/Woke. I play games to forget life, and not to have political propaganda pushed down my throat. Going back to 2K15.

    Wish they would read the reviews and make the suggested changes from years past to make a game the community loves.

    copy and paste of 2k20. the next gen consoles get a updated version of the game but apparently PC is not a next gen compatible platform. not sure why i continue to waste $60 on these games but i never will again

    I'm really mad. The PC version won't have a Next-gen update and the game was released even before the 2020 Finals, so the squads were the same as NBA 2K20. The game is also focused on you spending a lot of money for MyTeam and MyPlayer. Abusive politics, just run away!

    Here we are again, with ANOTHER year of the 2k franchise. 2k is selling the same game every single year, yet consumers still lap it up. Complete Pay 2 Win garbage. Story mode, MyCareer, MyLeague, or in the Park. It does not matter. Along with the ingame ads, this game should be rated A for Adult, due it's essential sugarcoated gambling. This game is a casino for children.

    All in all, NBA 2K21 still holds the bar, but there is very little incentive to switch to this version if you had your fill of 2K20, unless you’re a dedicated fan of MyTeam.

    For the players who have invested heavily both time and money on a previous iteration, NBA2K21 has nothing new to offer. The new MyCareer story and the necessary roster updates would not justify a purchase at its full price. Our grade refers to the technical aspects of the game, but we are highly critical on how the series have devolved into a microtransactions Pay2Progress model.

    An overall extremely well-made and enjoyable basketball game with a variety of modes and teams. That does not stop NBA 2K21 from sabotaging itself through a vast number of microtransactions that become necessary to progress in the My Team and My Career modes.
