Nov 5, 2014A lean offering with a promising future, developer Faultline Games has achieved that rarest of things; to separate a core feature from a game and allow it to stand on its own two feet and make it equally worthwhile to established veterans and unpractised hands alike.

Nov 24, 2014NS2: Combat proves to be a good shooter, fun and less demanding of Natural Selection 2, missing something in terms of originality. Its only real flaw lies in a rather high price.

Oct 30, 2014A pretty good game. It lacks any brilliant originality or unique spark to make it truly stand out from the crowd. When it’s not hampered by technical issues (it frequently crashed on me) and long loading screens, the game itself is quite fun, especially to play with friends. For the most part NS2 plays well and, while it doesn’t reinvent the wheel in any aspect, you could do a lot worse.

Nov 12, 2014An interesting Arena FPS, sadly too unbalanced to support the competition.
-
Jan 2, 2015A mod too short on content and aspiration to warrant the price as a standalone release.

Nov 27, 2014You don’t have to think about tactics in Combat, not really – just shoot to kill and watch your six. Forget territory control, since there are no strategic points except your HQ. Faultline Games also designed 5 new maps, added a couple of assault rifles, reworked the interface a bit… and that’s about it. Since you don’t need to own the original Natural Selection 2 to play Combat, and the two games are actually incompatible, the developers nearly fragmented their tightly-knit community. But fans did not fall for the bait – Combat’s servers have been almost empty since day one.
