Spawned from Natural Selection 2. Faultline Games turned the much loved title on its head, and made a vary fun FPS-MOBA.

Gone is the familiar RTS elements and In is 100% action.

Imagine you’re in a squad of marines covering a tactical position on a space station, an alien decloaks and devours you whole. You think it’s over, time to respawn, but wait, you’re alive inside this alien and punching to kill your foe before you’re digested! Your team lays siege to this creature and your combined fire bring down the beast AND YOU’RE STILL ALIVE! Surprisingly no technical issues on the first day of launch. Game loads fast on my SSD and I'm running highest settings with 160 fps consistently. They also mentioned on their 96-hour stream that we can expect some really cool upcoming enhancements. I see a bright future for this game.

A mod too short on content and aspiration to warrant the price as a standalone release.

You don’t have to think about tactics in Combat, not really – just shoot to kill and watch your six. Forget territory control, since there are no strategic points except your HQ. Faultline Games also designed 5 new maps, added a couple of assault rifles, reworked the interface a bit… and that’s about it. Since you don’t need to own the original Natural Selection 2 to play Combat, and the two games are actually incompatible, the developers nearly fragmented their tightly-knit community. But fans did not fall for the bait – Combat’s servers have been almost empty since day one.

NS2: Combat proves to be a good shooter, fun and less demanding of Natural Selection 2, missing something in terms of originality. Its only real flaw lies in a rather high price.
