it is more a final sad swansong then a 21-gun salute. [Dec 2005 p.88]
  2. There is nothing fundamentally wrong with Myst V but then again we’ve seen it all before and the story alone this time just wasn’t enough.
  3. Myst V isn't a rosebud twist ending to the series but rather a distinguished, picturesque, and more-than-sufficient finale.

An underwhelming finale that's a must-buy for Myst completists only. [Dec 2005, p.86]
  5. With this episode the Myst series goes out in respectable fashion. There's still nothing on offer for anyone that craves action, exhilaration or an easy ride but frankly that's no great surprise.

A great game, maybe the best one of the Myst series so far. This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. i never thought the day would come that i would bad-mouth a mist game, but, im sorry, but this game is just a let down. i am a fan of all the other Myst games, but this one just wasn't as good your good friend atris is dead, the lovable child yeasha is now a 60-or-so-year-old and almost all puzzles now revolve around some stupid tablet, the game is no longer a real challenge, and it was not a good resolution to the myst series. in my opinion, myst's final game was myst IV, this game is now dead to me Full Review »
