Jul 5, 2024Player First Games had plenty of time to improve Multiversus, but the changes in gameplay mechanics are less noticeable compared to the beta. Despite the efficient online combat experience, there must be more reasons to invest time when many daily or weekly missions are unfair, requiring specific characters that players need access to. The economic model of Multiversus could be more functional, which may lead many to abandon ship despite the efficient gameplay experience.

Jun 24, 2024Despite the possibility of predatory microtransactions, MultiVersus is currently on my daily login list: the fighting is fun, the characters are varied, and it gives me something to do every day.
-
Jun 7, 2024Nice roster and fun gameplay versus a lot of grinding, free-to-play weaknesses and sometimes uninspired characters: MultiVersus is currently unable to dethrone Smash Bros.
-
Jun 4, 2024As someone who was quite high on MultiVersus after playing its Closed Alpha in 2022, I was hoping that its 1.0 release would deliver a polished platform fighter that fully realized its sky-high potential. While it still leaves several features and fixes to be desired, I can’t deny that the game is still deeply fun at its core. Now, it becomes a matter of whether or not MultiVersus will be able to achieve its full potential in an increasingly harsh landscape for live-service games.

Jun 4, 2024Excessive F2P systems hold Multiversus back from greatness. As it is, there is a lot of fun to be had, but it is hard not to imagine something greater had the game received a more traditional release.

May 23, 2024Multiversus is a fighting game with a lot of potential, but it's repetitive. The competitive level is not to everyone's liking, but it would be more exciting with friends; the excitement and adrenaline would not be present. It has a strong fighter roster and impressive visuals, but it is a game that will be forgotten quickly.

Sep 2, 2022MultiVersus is one of the rare online competitive games that is fun even when you're not playing with your friends. That means you should definitely give it a chance even if your friends turn down your "let's play!" offers.
-
Aug 16, 2022A fun Smash Bros. on PC that needs a little more fine-tuning to reach its full potential.
-
Aug 16, 2022MultiVersus is much more than an attempt to be Smash Bros; it is a pretty big bet on a genre that was dominated by Nintendo and now sees MultiVersus as a real "enemy". Everything the big N's competitive fighting game doesn't have, Warner's has: a near-perfect online game, free and above all with a pretty good competitive scene, as it focuses a lot on this area. Warner's brawler has all the makings of being a real bomb if executed well, and seeing that there are veteran Riot workers behind it, we are sure that they will be several years giving the note until someone tries to bring them down from the cloud.

Aug 5, 2022None of that keeps MultiVersus from being a blast. It’s got something for everyone. If you’re a hardcore player looking for an alternate to Super Smash Bros., MultiVersus studio First Player Games have repeatedly committed to fostering a healthy competitive scene.

Jul 28, 2022MultiVersus, currently in Beta but already available, enters the ring with a gameplay accessible to all, a bit technical and immediately fun. It provides the show with its five-star cast and colorful artistic direction. The number of characters is still low and the clashes are sometimes rough, yet this does not prevent the title of Player First Games from doing well. The Free to Play economic model could well put off some fighting game aficionados while by being a ready-made gateway for neophytes wishing to discover the genre.
-
Jul 28, 2022MultiVersus may not be a must-play at social gatherings, but its refreshing team-based battles make it a great platform fighter online.
-
Jul 28, 2022MultiVersus brings together an eclectic mix of WB characters in a wacky but frustratingly slow free-to-play platform fighter.

Sep 7, 2022Characterful fighters, a good skill ceiling, and a co-op emphasis with real depth makes Warner Bros. MultiVersus a very pleasant surprise. [Eurogamer Recommended]
