    No better game in its genre. Glad I put it down after picking it up day 1 as early access and waited for the full release, most the bad stuff you hear was from when the game was unfinished. It's in a good state now but still slightly bare bones in places like the enormous effort they put into all the cites only for them to have nothing to actually do within them yet.

    No other game offers such a stable alchemy between battle, command, strategy, and management.

    Comparing its content with Warband+mods, its strategy with Crusader Kings, or its graphics with The Witcher is really not fair. It is much more difficult to create a game engine and an entire game rather than "just" modding it.     It is much more difficult to create a game engine and an entire game rather than "just" modding it. The hardest part is what you can't see (memory allocations, AI, stability...). And without this work of the developers the game and therefore its mods would simply not exist. You have to compare what is comparable, Warband 1.0 vs Bannerlord 1.0.

    And on this comparison Bannerlord is 1000 times more complete, clear, and catchy than what Warband offered when it was released. Obviously people haven't restarted a game of Warband 1.0 for a long time.... They forgot that the sieges were limited to a single scale, that child descent was not possible, the uninteresting endgames, that the maximum number of units was much lower, as was the size of the map or the number of quests...

    In Bannerlord everything is much bigger and clearer, giving the series the perfect foundation for a new era, thanks to a complete, enjoyable, and unique game.

    And for the few sound bugs or empty cities, the game is not entirely finished and the few patches will quickly correct these minor problems.    … Expand

    I've got almost 450 hours played, where most of it happened in the very early stages. I've seen this game evolve and improved significantly, addressing many issues in economy/balancing and sides.

    Personally, I still dislike some of the core aspects of the game, which I take as my personal preferences rather than the game being bad. If you are curious, for me, I think the recruitment system that allow to keep the wars to go again and again and again with thousands of soldiers on both side, that's... far from realistic. I'm really missing a feeling that kingdoms and people need time to recover. This also bounds with the fact that there is very little of political/commercial influence. Sure, there is some, but to be - it's not enough.

    But other than that - come on.. it's AMAZING and I do tend to come back to play it even now after 450 hours :-)    … Expand

    Mount & Blade is a one-of-a-kind series – an incredible blend of RPG, strategy and action set in a vast medieval setting that you can lose yourself in for hundreds of hours – and Bannerlord absolutely takes it to the next level.

    The game's predecessor, Warband, is one of my all-time favourite games, and Bannerlord improves on it in almost every way. The graphics are fantastic, family,    Mount & Blade is a one-of-a-kind series – an incredible blend of RPG, strategy and action set in a vast medieval setting that you can lose yourself in for hundreds of hours – and Bannerlord absolutely takes it to the next level.

    The game's predecessor, Warband, is one of my all-time favourite games, and Bannerlord improves on it in almost every way. The graphics are fantastic, family, clan and kingdom management is far deeper, the roleplaying system now includes more skills and hundreds of perks, and alternative professions like trading and blacksmithing add much needed activities beyond battling.

    But it is the battles that are the clear highlight for me. There's something special about playing the role of a lone soldier (or Lord, or even King) on a huge battlefield with potentially hundreds of combatants on each side. The atmosphere is incredible, and there are so many memorable moments that have stuck with me – the first time I heard the distant rumble of enemy cavalry, watching helplessly as a trebuchet projectile arced its way towards me and my soldiers, flanking the enemy's charging infantry with a carefully placed and well timed cavalary charge, finding the enemy King in the middle of a battle and slicing him down, and so many more.

    There's just so much potential for emergent stories within each and every battle, and it's an experience completely unique to the Mount & Blade series.

    Finally, and perhaps most promisingly, is the modding scene. Bannerlord is already the 11th most popular game on Nexus Mods, and 150 mods have been added or updated in the first 5 days since release. Small features that people complain about being missing from Warband, like feasts, duelling and deeper companion back stories, have all already been added by modders.

    Like Warband (and Skyrim for that matter) before it, it's mods that will take Bannerlord from being a great game to an all-time favourite that I keep coming back to again and again for the next decade.    … Expand

    A unique game with no equal in genre. It is very valuable in this respect. After the previous game, the graphics and gameplay have been greatly improved. It's a game I can play for hundreds of hours.

    After 250 hours playing the game I can say I love it. The modders community and the guides on you tube are great and active. It's not a game without its challenges to learn how to play it, but absolutely everything that you possibly could dislike you can change with mods... even overhauling the whole world, what I haven't done yet, but I will,.. It's a game that you fell really immersed into...

    It is a great game and there is no equivalent game in the world. (other than warband). I spent 20 hours to just marry a khan’s daughter. 20 to end a clan war. Etc. There is always a way to spend time in this game. I hope the video game industry in Turkey progress more and we can see more games like this. Competition in this genre would be nice.

    It will consume a lot of time and it will be long, hard and frustrating, unless you turn all the difficulty options to a minimum, in that case, it will just be a bit boring grind without any challenge.     The game has some bugs but less than other more rated game. Strategy is the center of gameplay with first or third person combat gameplay. It's amazing to cross the battle map on your horse shooting enemy soldier and giving orders tonyour units. But there is a lot of other thing to do : smithing, trade etc...     This game is great for PC with the mods specifically. The game is meant to be played on PC compared to the console versions. I have this game for XBOX One and you can only get the vanilla game. The console versions really limit how great this game really is. No mods of any kind on console. It really makes the game very repetitive and boring after a short period.     If you are going based on just the basic version of this game, then this game on console is great at the start and for a few hours but once you have built up a decent army, this game is nothing but a massive grind. You take a city or castle and then leave it to attack another, the enemy goes and attacks and takes it right back and you do this back and forth. It is extremely boring and grindy.

    Also the console versions seem to have an issue when you have an army of 800 going against an army of 400, somehow the larger army loses. Console versions need a massive retooling because the basic game gets boring really fast.

    I would get this game as a first time buyer on PC for sure because that is what this game is meant to be played on plus all the great mods available for PC. Mods really take a game to the next level and this game on PC with mods will keep you occupied forever.    … Expand

    Still a superb sandbox RPG and this time with much improved graphics and sound, but something is missing. Some special sauce that was there in Warband, because while this is fun and well-made it is missing that addictive quality of its predecessor. Still good for dozens or hundreds of hours.

    This game takes its predecessor and brings improved graphics and some QOL fixes, but sacrafices some depth. That said, there is no better large scale strategy RPG today.

    My beloved series, been a M&B fan since 07'. However I have to be honest, Bannerlord is a great game with far better graphics, animations, and everything above Warband. It just lacks mid to late game content making the grind extremely tedious and boring. Mods can fix this but I would rather see a native update filling those voids.     - Progression in gear feels smooth, going from a peasant wearing cloth to an absolute tank in full plate is great. - The progression of the clan system is similarly smooth, starting as a clan of 4 (2 adults, 2 children) and being able to expand through birth, marriage and warfare. - The scale of the combat is obviously the biggest positive the game has. - Lots of choice    Pros:

    - Lots of choice in character types. For example: can be a leader, a trader, a blacksmith, a medic, a bandit, a mercenary, infantry, archer, crossbowman, cavalry, ranged cavalry e.t.c.

    - Manual sieges are fun either attacking or defending.

    - There is mod support which is always a positive.

    - Graphics are good.

    - Each faction fits a realistic theme of historic civilizations. For example the blue faction is associated with Vikings as it is positioned in the cold and they wear fur armours and use patterned shields, whereas the red faction is associated with medieval feudalism, is positioned in the meadows and forests and use chainmail and plate armour.

    - Trading is well designed, takes into account demand and expenditure as well as what nearby settlements are supplying.

    Cons:

    - The diplomacy can sometimes feel random in terms of randomly having war declared on you without reason.

It's a medieval simulation with a deep combat system however it is also an rpg with many skills to level upm hundereds of perks to choose therefore millions of charackter build to invent. At first this game may seem like a game in which you just recruit an army and go to war and conquer castles etc. But there is lots of things to do including a variety of jobs to do from a smither to merchant or mercenary. But of course main focus is becoming a feudal lord in the first place then climb all the way to the head of a kingdom. The map has 8 kingdoms and if you want you can attend one of them, if you have proven yourself in the battles, or found your own kingdom by attacking one of these kingdoms. I personally recommend you to go for the sandbox mode since it's story mode is pointless but you can of course try at least once. Note 1 : Developers are still improving game by adding features that it needs because when the game first released it wasnt complete. Many bad comments are stemming from this situation Note 2 : there are plenty of modes that you can install and they are really good. Before you start your next story( you should play it modeless at first) you may conside looking them. There are helpful videoa in youtube that gives suggestions about bannerlord modes.… Expand

    The game offers an incredible amount of options, and if you don't enjoy the campaign, you can have a blast in the elaborate battle mode, where you'll command up to hundreds of warriors and work together to destroy enemies, protect villages or conquer castles. [Issue#324]

    Mount & Blade II Bannerlord is not an easy game to get into, and several of its mechanics are not introduced very clearly. There is also a lot of repetition, at multiple levels of the game, between side quests and repeated events. At the same time, however, it gives us access to a large sandbox that immerses us in an all-too-believable medieval world and allows us to transform from a simple country mercenary to a lord, enjoying large-scale battles and watching our kingdom grow.

    Mount & Blade 2 transports us into an endless chaotic world full of events, battles and amazing adventures. At times it feels like a victim of its own complexity — some of the game's intricate systems don’t mesh together or never work as advertised, the economy is flawed, there’s a frightening dearth of conventions… Yet this elaborate medieval world will eat up at least a hundred hours out of your life.
