There's an awesome game buried under a ton of pretty bad things.
Most anoying thing for me is the fact thatyou have to use the basic WASD controls in menu and in the crypt even when you rebind the keys.
A terrible conversion of a fantastic game. Shame, but still enjoyable.

I've always been a much bigger fan of the Capcom series, and so it is today. However, it is undeniable that Capcom's latest decisions have distanced Street Fighter from many players. Unlike Mortal Kombat, which has gotten better with every game.

In the past, the game I played most was Mortal Kombat Trilogy (I also love Mythologies Sub-Zero). However, since the time of PSOne, I haven't played a game from the franchise. And I decided to give MK X a chance. And it was an excellent decision.

The game is excellent in all aspects. Beautiful graphics, great gameplay, very cool stages and the best story mode of fighting games so far.

It has a lot to teach my favorite franchise, Street Fighter. Mandatory game for fighting games fans.

However after a while you realise it's a below average port from a console generation, with hopeless netcode that makes online play virtually impossible (if you can even find a game), greedy money grabbing micro transactions, expensive DLC which should have been in the game in the first place and now to top it off, no more content or support for PC players.

Completely unacceptable way to treat your loyal customers and fans.

Will not buy another Mortal Kombat or Warner Bros game again.

For this insulting treatment, I give you a 1 out of 10.

The port came off rocky, though after a while the game was playable and ran well, but online could use improvements. Instead of fixing their game, WB decides to screw over PC players by not only keeping the MKXL edition on XBONE and PS4 only, but it also will not have Kombat Pack 2. This is **** PC shouldn't be an afterthought and left in the wind.

Warner Brothers and NetherRealm have now pulled support for the PC version and officially stated that it will not be receiving both the Kombat Pack 2 DLC and the much anticipated update to the online netcode. The PC version is now dead in the water; if you want to play MKX do it on a console but do you really want to support WB after both this and the latest Batman game?

The graphics are brilliant and the fighting combat gameplay is exceptional. This could have been the premier fighting game on the PC, but alas the broken multiplayer component puts it at a mediocre value. What good is good gameplay when you rarely get to play? Buy the console version or skip it.

I'm not good at fightings, but comparing this game and, say, Tekken 3, MK has much much worse controls. In Tekken 3 you could perform awesome combos, they were easy to learn and easy to perform. I almost broke my fingers but still cant make it out. Graphics are good, indeed, it is 2015 after all, but nothing special. To summarise: if you are bad at fightings as me this is a bad game to start with.

Overall, MKX is a poor title. At the end of the day you will end up being bored to tears fighting against the same cookie-cutter combos online or you will end up being annoyed as much as it is possible fighting against your typical MK input reading AI. The game mechanics are still beyond terrible, and the game does a really poor job explaining them (eg. grabs work in absolutely different way than the game informs you). The balance is absolutely off - people will play Scrubpion, Erron, Ermac and few other one overpowered combo characters (punch walk ftw), while some characters are just terribly, terribly weak (Ferra/Tor, Mileena and others).

Though there is a reason I didn't give this a 10/10 cause it definately had that potential. The gameplay in this is amazing and I love it. But the story (spoiler alert), when did the great Quanchii, ruler of the netherrealm and master of the mystic arts become such a girl? He gets beaten in here so many times by almost anyone even a trainee speacial ops and wow not only him, the great evil non-forgiving necromancer Shinok himself is a girl too. Netherrealmers in this game are wearing skirts it's almost funny and where's 2 by 2 combat? It was the best feature of the previous right. Anyway, apart from that you're in for a treat. Graphics, character arcs, gameplay and one of the best feature ever seen, environment interactions! And an awesome ending feud between our stars. I loved it Eddy Expand

Also, the DLC decisions are the epitome of nickel and dime. It's getting ridiculous when games are ridiculously over budgeted. Insane multimillion costs are ballooning the price of games and its frankly ridiculous to burden consumers with these costs just to have a game break even.

MKX will last you for a long time. A few variations of the usual Arcade Mode, some dumb mini-games, online multiplayer, a lengthy story campaign, and, finally, Krypt… Not all changes to gameplay mechanics are obvious, but they do make the game more dynamic.
  3. It’s still the same fun and crazy fighting that demands from the player exactly as much as he wants to give. No matter how you choose to play it, MKX will find something to offer. [June 2015, p.64]
