    Everything is locked behind an online unnecessary wall to make it more of a grind.

    The fighting might be fun but no one has time to seat there and grind that much unless this is your only game left to play in the world.

    Most of the "professional" reviews are OMITTING the online only stuff from the review...very "honest" on their part.

    Grindy, Microtrnasactions, SJW, Females dressed in burkhas. Jax ending is the cringiest thing ever. Also the 2D graphics in the "cinematics" looks like garbage drawn by 10y old.

    This game had the potential to be good, but any quality is buried under predatory microtransactions, characters locked behind future DLC, and pay-to-win models, while if you try to play in the online lobbies get used to server disconnects and lag. The developers have really let themselves down here.     The Krypt, which they've said they are going to patch to address the grind, is literally a predatory practice. Multiple forms of kurrency and the amount you gain is vastly inferior to the costs required. Intentionally making something terrible & then going "oh sorry, we'll fix it" then putting a bandage on it so it's no longer 'terrible' but just 'bad' going "Hey look, we 'fixed it', we're good guys!" while it's still just frustrating enough to make you spend money... that's the epitome of sleazy and predatory.

    That's their goal, look like good guys fixing something they intentionally broke, making you spend money on top of the $60/$100 you spent to buy the game (of which the content you are buying w/ these MTX is in the game, so you already paid for it)

    Here's a quick example: 90% of the 'heart' boxes shown on stream, cost /250/ hearts to open, each. You earn... 1 heart per fatality & 2 hearts per brutality. While exploring the Krypt, you can occasionally find bodies hanging in the world & they may have 1-2; It's about the same timeframe as a kombat & brutalizing opponent. So you are looking at a 3-5 minute fight for one-two hearts & you need 250... just to open one box & it has /random/ contents. You may not even get anything you want, or that is usable for your character. Which is a whole other layer of RNG on top of RNG on top of RNG (lootboxes, to get random stuff, and even if it's gear, it has random slots for the augments, which are also random)

    Now lets throw in 'filler' items. There are 3 sets of icons for your variations, black/gold/red & there are 30 each, so that's 90 icons. I don't know how many kombat kard borders/backgrounds there are, but icons? If you have Shao Kahn, that's 2250 filler items in your Krypt item pool, on top of like 30 different konsumables for the towers, & like a dozen krafting materials; And those icons? You can get duplicates, so even if you get one from a box, you can still get another.

    The kombat in the game? Really nice. The Story? Pretty epic. Actual single player content post-story? Absolutely frustrating, designed to make you spend money to bypass or speed it up. NRS & WB have gone out of their way to try & milk the game as a quick cashcow & are making themselves look like the good guy by saying they're looking into 'fixing' the intentionally terrible grind they created.

    I cannot in good conscious recommend this. And the only reason I didn't refund immediately, is because you have to own the game here on Steam to post these reviews    … Expand

    As if the predatory Pay2Win microtransactions weren't enough, the pandering SJW crap that completely flies in the face of the franchise that I love is ridiculous.

    It's "fine" if I don't like the changes? I hope it is fine that I returned the game.

    Made an account just to write this review. Terrible PC experience by NRS, no beta, delayed release, blatant lies such as no delays, no loot boxes or predatory ministrations , and no unplayable a story characters.

    Warner Bros proved they are the new EA. With every game they release based and designed for microtransactions and the way back disastrous port of Batman Arkham Knight that they never fixed. Even when they removed the microtransactions later on from Shadow of War, the    Microtransactions AGAIN even when people complained about Shadow of War!! And trying to always be an Online game now?

    Even when they removed the microtransactions later on from Shadow of War, the game broke even more with infinite loading screens and crashes. Not only that but by removing later on microtransactions from a game like Shadow of War did not make the game better because the game was designed to be a grind hell so that you can spend money instead.

    A lot of fan favourites are missing (Mileena, Rain, Sindel, Smoke...). The story is abysmal, makes no sense at all and effectively destroys the entire lore of the last 27 years. Also pushing you personal political agenda with certain tower endings is just disgusting.     Most importantly however: The developers showed how much they disrespect/hate one of the biggest fan favourites (Mileena) and her fanbase. They didn't include her in the game and mocked/ridiculed her fans for telling NRS how much they want their favourite to be a part of the new installment.

    this guys from NetherRealm made probably their worst game. This terrible game just doesn't want to open on PC. A lot of players having issues with launching and playing because of huge amount of lags. A lot of micro transactions and self advertising shows that nowadays the only thing NetherRealm cares about is money...

    I am a big fan of the series, basically since the days of MK II. Unfortunately today I decided to sell my freshly purchased copy of MK 11. I am terribly disappointed with this game. I am a total opponent of political correctness and censorship in games, as well as the hypocrisy of their creators. Although mechanics, graphics and animation are at a rather high level, I will not recommendI am a big fan of the series, basically since the days of MK II. Unfortunately today I decided to sell my freshly purchased copy of MK 11. I am terribly disappointed with this game.     As it is, this game is unacceptable. Almost every menu you navigate, you are prompted with a "connecting to server" modal dialog. If the connection drops, you lose access to single player content. The game uses a terrible grind system to entice people to buy content with microtransactions. The developers have said that "they are working on a fix", but their fix is to fudge the numbersAs it is, this game is unacceptable. But that is the only fix. Remove consumables, remove assists, remove augments, remove random drops, remove randomization from the krypt.

    The game also crashes here and there in the menus, which can cause data loss.

    Until all these things are fixed (and let's be honest, they never will be), I cannot recommend this. It's a shame, because I like the story and the core fighting mechanics are good.    … Expand

    This is a horrible PC port first and foremost FPS is locked for some reason at 30 and the game is glitchy as hell. Sure those will be patched at some point but I am tired of these AAA games putting out garbage with promises of patches to fix. $70 dollars for this microtransaction grindfest is way too much.     1. Predatory monetization: Extremely grindy in an unfair way designed to make you spend real money.
    2. Missing fan favorite characters like Smoke, Reptile, Mileena etc.
    3. SJW/Feminist/Political agenda forced into the game.

    And in my opinion their classic costumes were big part of their identity, so this change makes zero sense. Roster is also disappointing, where's 3d era characters? Where's Smoke? Reptile?     Could have been so much better, everything feels kinda weird with this game. They try to be cool and edgy, but they actually aren't. It actually feels one of their softest games.

    Don't buy any game of this developers on PC (NetherRealm Studios) They only can make games on console. Very bad PC optimization. Random crashes + desync in online matches makes this game unplayable. Uninstalled it. Three patches later and they still didn't fix it.

    This mortal combat is still tons of fun. Realistic graphics, top-notch body and facial animations, extremely inventive violence and perfect sound effects. Ed Boon and Co. still make the best fighting games in town.
