Apr 29, 2026It’s beautifully produced and absolutely in line with the way that Jansson’s Moomin works ran. They’ve always left me wanting more, and I can’t wait until the next Moomin game comes my way.
-
Apr 27, 2026Moomintroll: Winter's Warmth is a short and sweet game that is beautiful to look at and play. The journey through Moominvalley and the characters you meet make the entire experience worth it.

Apr 28, 2026Excellence in gameplay, meticulous care in visuals and strong bonds of friendship in emotional core build up a masterpiece of an adventure. Pacing is tight and the metroidvania elements are well placed, but it's the construction of a found family that really sells the whole package. Moomintroll: Winter's Warmth will warm even an ice cold heart.
-
Apr 27, 2026If you’re looking for low-stakes escapism, Moomintroll: Winter's Warmth is an easy recommendation. It’s everything you could want in a cosy game, blending just enough player agency with what is, without a doubt, an incredibly relaxing and playful experience.
-
Apr 27, 2026Winter's Warmth is a quintessential addition to the library of any Moomin fan, and a wonderful introduction to new ones.
-
Apr 28, 2026A gentle, introspective adventure set in a snow-covered Moominvalley, Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth trades the lively energy of its predecessor for a quieter, more reflective journey about embracing the unfamiliar. By centering on Moomintroll’s discomfort with winter and gradual growth, the game delivers a heartfelt narrative supported by cozy exploration, light puzzle-solving, and meaningful character interactions. While its smaller cast and slower pace may not appeal to everyone, its charm, atmosphere, and respect for the source material make it a warm, inviting experience that lingers long after the snow melts.
-
Apr 27, 2026Hyper Games has successfully captured the unique duality of the Moomin stories - the whimsical charm of helping neighbors balanced against the slight, beautiful melancholy of a lonely Scandinavian winter.
-
May 7, 2026Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth is a cozy game that feels like stepping into a beautifully edited storybook. Its gentle atmosphere makes it perfect for families to enjoy together, while themes of friendship and growth blend naturally with light interactive elements, creating the feeling of playing through a fairy tale being read aloud.

Apr 28, 2026Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth is the coziest game I’ve played so far this year, and it never outstays its welcome by offering a short, sweet experience. It’s beautifully crafted and evokes complex emotions you’ll feel because of its incredible, likable characters. It’s got gentle puzzles, stunning atmosphere, and it’ll stick with you once you’ve wrapped up. Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth is a magical, heartfelt adventure that glows with warmth even in the coldest moments.

Apr 27, 2026It's a warm and beautiful story about friendship, helping each other, and standing together when things might get a little difficult. The game may not offer deep thoughts for adults, but it is communicated in a very nice and child-friendly way that never forgets that Moomin is not just for the little ones....Furthermore, Moomin: Winter's Warmth is a more advanced game with more things to do, larger areas to explore, and far more exciting areas to explore. The game makes me very excited to see what Hyper Games can come up with in the future.

Apr 27, 2026I very much enjoyed my time with Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth, and for those looking for an adorable and charming way to spend a few hours, I would heartily recommend it. It is visually stunning, enjoyable to navigate and play and made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. If you are into cosy, story-driven puzzlers, then I would definitely encourage you to check it out.
-
Apr 27, 2026I could see myself getting more immersed in the game during the winter, but ultimately, Moomintroll: Winter's Warmth is a wholesome, cozy adventure I'd absolutely recommend.
-
Apr 27, 2026Aside from those infrequent technical issues, this is a smooth, comforting, and narratively rich experience. Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth's balance of warmth and depth is everything I want from a cozy game in the modern era. I can already anticipate that I’ll be returning to the charm of Moominvalley in a few months, when the Lady of the Cold visits me as well.
-
Apr 29, 2026Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth is a visually charming and faithful adaptation of the Moomins that captures the heart and tone of its source material, even if its gameplay struggles to keep up. While the repetitive task structure and frustrating navigation can wear you down over time, the game’s beautiful presentation, strong atmosphere, and authentic character portrayals make it a cosy, if occasionally uneven, experience.

Apr 28, 2026Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth is a heartfelt adventure that understands the magic of its storybook world. Jansson’s childhood series is rendered with such love and care that I quickly fell in love with the Moominverse. Hyper Games has very clearly treated the source material with great care and respect, creating an experience that feels made for longtime fans while also remaining warm and welcoming to newcomers. While the gameplay can feel repetitive at times and the firewood grind did sour my experience, it was still good to explore the snow-covered Moominvalley as the adorable Moomintroll to experience a winter that would send any Australian into shock.

Apr 30, 2026Whereas Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley felt like you got to experience a new story in Moomin lore, Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth is closer to an interactive storybook game. It puts its own spin on a beloved story while maintaining the original spirit of Tove Jansson’s work, making it a delight for fans regardless of familiarity. I’m not sure if Hyper Games will continue the series, but I would be interested to see what it comes up with next.
-
Apr 28, 2026Moomintroll: Winter's Warmth is an interesting way to dive into the world of Moomin, offering a simple but fairly competent adventure that doubles down as something akin to a coming of age story. Unfortunately, what could have been a fantastic adventure is dragged down slightly by the way quests are presented as repetitive chores. Nonetheless, it’s still a curious adventure, especially for fans of the original universe or those curious about its rendition of a world reminiscent of a fairy tail.
-
Apr 27, 2026Ultimately, Moomintroll: Winter's Warmth delivers more of what we saw in Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley. It's an accessible adventure for a younger audience where the charm of Tove Jansson's stories meets simple gameplay mechanics, and it's easy to recommend this if you enjoyed its predecessor. Admittedly, the adventure on offer this time around may not be quite as grand in scale, and much of it can feel a little too familiar and repetitive at times, but a quiet, atmospheric winter's day can, as we know, be just as inviting as a warm and lively afternoon in the sun. Hyper Games continues its tradition of respecting the source material in the very best way, and if you like Finnish little trolls, these digital fairy tales are the very best on the market right now.
