    A lot of firsts yesterday/today. I've never refunded a game on steam, and I've never cared enough one way or another to write a review on pretty much any game I've ever played. But when I took a week off of work to play MHR on PC, I didn't know I would just be wasting my PTO. Completely unplayable as the game can't create a save file and just loops indefinitely without ever being able toA lot of firsts yesterday/today. But when I took a week off of work to play MHR on PC, I didn't know I would just be wasting my PTO. Completely unplayable as the game can't create a save file and just loops indefinitely without ever being able to get to the main menu. Uninstall & Reinstall, verify integrity of game cache, delete old save file folders, turning steam cloud off/on, all had absolutely no effect on this issue. I spent $63 on a frustrating menu simulator. I didn't get a single second of play time in the 2 hours I spent troubleshooting this issue last night, and with no update in sight, this game looks like a lost cause for now. Do not buy this game if you intend to play it within the next few weeks until they update it. I would give a 1/10, but I never got to experience a single second of the game. I put hundreds of hours into MHW, and when I saw a new release, I took time off to be able to enjoy it on release day. Don't make the same mistake as me. Requested refund on steam, and it will be a few days/weeks before I even get to spend that on a game that actually works. 0/10.… Expand

    Denuvo sucks, cant play it offline or if my internet provider fails.
    MHWorld was so better than is game, it would be better making the games to PC and downgrading them to Switch instead

    "Failed to save" error that affects about 10% of the players making them unable to actually play the game, like you can't even start playing, i have 1.5hours on the game all trying to fix that problem with not a single second of actual gameplay. Its been over a week now and still no fix,

    It has been a week since I've had the "save file bug". The worst thing is Capcom doesn't really say much about the issue. Sure they acknowledged that it exist, but after that nothing. The only thing we got today was a message that roughly says, "We're working on it, thanks for being patient."...that's all? After one week, that's all we're going to get?

    This entire series is literal trash. Repetitive uninteresting mindless hack-n-slash. Battles take EONS, STARTING at 10 minutes and sometimes lasting 30. Yes, my equipment is upgraded. Monsters all act the same. Just run in, attack them, dodge out of there. There's this entire set of moves for the 10+ weapons which sound great but nothing they do matters, just run in, attack once,This entire series is literal trash. Slow weapons are worse because they take 6 seconds to attack so most of the time you miss. The moves you learn look cool but they do nothing versus just using the normal attack each weapon has. Wow you did a super mega attack for 5 more damage! Okay, I'll just use the normal attack forever now... no penalty?

    You are sent to a battlefield to hunt which is just a waste of time, nothing stands between you and the monster on your mini-map. You just hold forward for 5 minutes. This does nothing except pad out the game. Monsters run away when they're weak and go and heal. This does nothing except pad out the game. There is NO STORY AT ALL, which I wasn't expecting a good one but there is nothing to really make you want to go hunt monsters. No voice acting, just a bunch of text in the menus. They try to distract you with poems and haikus, and silly useless over the top distractions like characters jumping when they make you food. The only point is to just go in a circle of grinding to get better equipment to kill boring monsters faster. You don't have to upgrade but if you don't then go ahead and take the 30 minute figure per monster and triple it. The upgrade tree is really interesting but... there's just no point to bother because all of the monsters are the same process.

    The game doesn't make you think or plan ahead. When hunts start they just dump potions on you. The whole eating system is just an excuse to have something to forget to do. You have to eat before missions or else you don't do nearly as well, ie there are bonuses you miss out on. There is no reminder saying you forgot to eat so you just waste time if you forget and start over.

    I didn't experience any saving issues, and one redeeming thing about the game is the graphics are excellent. The monster designs are unique and everything is animated exceptionally well, the characters are designed well etc. That doesn't matter because it's just window dressing on a completely pointless mindless hack-n-slash. They also have some interesting side modes like tower defense that requires at least a sliver of thinking and strategy, but of course they are optional.

    I do not understand people's obsession with this utterly trash series. My friend tried to get me into it and I wasted $40. This game is not worth $40 or $20, I wouldn't pay more than $5 for it. I kept thinking it would get better, perhaps the first part of the game is just repetitive because it is a tutorial? etc, so I put 10 hours into it and now I'm well beyond the refund time on Steam. I asked around and watched videos and the rest of the series is like this, or arguably even "worse" because they had less quality of life features. NO, you do not do ANYTHING except mindlessly hunt monsters which means, jump in, attack, dodge out.

    If you think you want this game, go watch someone playing it on youtube for 5 minutes and pretend to be mashing keys on your keyboard. There you go, I just saved you time and money. See them attacking a monster once and dodging? Now imagine doing that for 100 hours. That's all you do. I'm not kidding.    … Expand

    Graphics are average, the music is kinda annoying after some time playing, the controls for PC are ok... but everything else in this game is so off that I was struggling to play through the beginning because there is a ton of useless dialogues and tutorials. I'm sort of tired of this game design, it's so counter intuitive, so outdated. I was so excited to play it, but it just turned into a bad dream due to all these flaws and really bad choices from the developers.… Expand

    #Failed to save bug. As much as they are trying to give solutions to this problem, I regret to inform that this, along with the other troubleshooting suggestions, have yielded no results on my end.
    Instead of remedies to the problems, the developers really need to come together to formulate a proper solution as to not having to have users individually inspect their folders to find the    #Failed to save bug. I understand that some of these solutions have helped some of the players, but the rest of them are unable to enjoy this game and are having to sit there, trying to make a save only to end up in an endless loop.    … Expand

    It's just a porting of a switch game. Nothing added to make the game acceptable as a 2022 game. Graphic is PS3 like, Gameplay is make of wood. I just played MH World and i like it but with a new game i was expecting something new or better. Nothing, this game is the exact game of 2018. Same engine, same gameplay, same attack moveset, same weapons, same monsters (Just some add).

    1.5 hours of playtime in the menu because of failed to save glitch. Can't even play with friends and it has been a week with no news from capcom. $60+ game and there is no communication on when a fix will be implemented.

    its marketing trick. capcom you can evolution in mhw but you create only new new new and again new part and reset progress gamers to 0 why you so greedy? maybe you need stop?i played demo mhr and i tell after game 1k hours+ mhw - mhr bad product and horrible price!

    Failed to save. Can't play. During the week after the release, the official did not give any effective solution. Players have been waiting for a week without getting any updates or even progress notes. It is not a playable state and is not recommended for purchase.

    Another case of a possible great game ruined by horrible, sluggish controls. Every button press feels like the player character is underwater; mostly attributed to the large number of unnecessary animations attached to player movement. Can't just unsheathe the weapon, the character needs to spin the weapon and pose first. Can't just drink a healing potion, The character has to pull out the bottle, look at it, pop the cork and spend 10 seconds drinking it slowly. NONE of these animations can be cancelled and lead to you constantly being killed or damaged by the monster. The "dodge" ability (which has no i-frames because this game was made by imbeciles) is almost useless since it doesn't move any faster than the painfully slow footed, character's "run". Melee is a complete joke with overly long attack animations that do not auto track and CAN NOT be directed mid animation; this wouldn't be such an issue if the game had a proper lock-on feature, but it doesn't. I can't forget to mention that many of the enemies move extremely fast and have very aggressive, sweeping or lunging type attacks. Normally, these enemies would be an absolute blast to fight, but not with these controls.

    These issues are the dictionary definition of "artificial difficulty". The devs decided to go with slow witted control as the primary element of game difficulty to cover their inability to be more creative with how to defeat the monsters. This seems to be a theme with talentless game devs nowadays. Make a game, cripple the player's controls and crow about how "challenging" the game is. "Journalists" can be paid to ignore this laziness but, judging by the game's User Score (the score that actually matters), the players can not be fooled. Put this franchise into the hands of a group of competent developers. Monster Hunter, FREAKING MONSTER HUNTER, DESERVES better than the buffoons who set this trash fire.    … Expand

    Should be called Menu Hunter. I spent the first hour and a half of this game skipping through tutorials and dialogue; its a neverending infodump, little of which I actually cared about. Every system is overly complicated and convoluted, you will spend more time looking through menu screens than you will hunting monsters. I finally got to my first enemy encounter, and BOOM MORE TUTORIALS!! The game takes a break every 10 seconds to hold your hand, I'm talking basic stuff like "*pause* press the left analog stick forward to move your character forward. *unpause* *pause* press the left analog stick left to move left" *unpause* *pasue* press the left analog stick right to move right* unpause *pause* press a to jump *unpause* *pause* hold a to jump higher* unpase" and if you wanted to skip through my anecdote just now, you got a free glimpse of the opening 3 hours of this game (if, unlike me, you actually took the time to listen to all the dialogue, watch all the cutscenes, and read all the tutorial pop ups). I honestly didn't make it any further, I hit my second enemy encounter, the game threw up another tutorial to read about how there are ranged AND melee enemies, and I uninstalled it right then and there. If I had to read through one more submenu I was gonna smash my head through my screen, and the game relies HEAVILY on these menus for every almost every action imaginable.… Expand

    The gameplay is repetitive, the progression is confusing and feels like you’re not getting better stats. I mostly just played it as an excuse to talk to my friends during hunts. Idk how people can stay invested in this game long enough to beat it on their own.

    휴대기로 나와서 그래픽이 개판 난건 둘째 치고, 물 흐르는 그래픽이 멀미를 유발시킴
    꼴도 보기 싫은 몬스터, 지역 소개 컷신은 진짜 극혐임 몬스터 헌터에 어울리지도 않는 디펜스 게임을 넣어놔서 재미도 없음. 포켓몬스터 처럼 "이래도 사?"를 시전하는 것 같음. 그래도 선브레이크는 재밌어서 3점 줌    몬스터 헌터 월드의 후속작이라고 불러도 될까 싶은 작품.

    Monster Hunter Rise is a brilliant addition to the Monster Hunter lineup. It delivers incredible combat with newly added monsters and highly-desired mobility. However, it does suffer from messy systems, a mediocre story and can become quite grindy. Despite these flaws though, I have had countless hours of fun and will continue to do so. The co-op aspect just adds even more enjoyment to an already enjoyable game. I just wish the system UI had been redone for PC.

    Monster Hunter Rise’s combat is excellent, and the PC version is virtually a perfect port of the Switch version. As someone who had never played a Monster Hunter game before, I’m hooked.

    Monster Hunter Rise on PC is the definitive version of an excellent entry in this long running franchise and whether you are a veteran of the series or a rookie, looking to jump in for the first time, it’s the perfect opportunity to grab a weapon and start hunting some monsters.
