Like the very best ghost town, it can be surprisingly hard to leave.

MirrorMoon EP is a good exploration game. A little slow paced, but really rewarding to players looking for something new.

It’s a big universe out there, filled with beautiful sights, and while it can get a bit repetitive after a while, it’s worth setting out just to see what you can find.

Mirror Moon EP is more about art than about gameplay and it's meant for people who can appreciate the pleasure of exploration, discovery and bizarre graphic style. While interesting and surprising, the game shows many highs and lows, and could become easily boring if you're don't bite into its strange nature.

The problem with discussing MirrorMoon EP is that the fun (and frustration) of it lies in discovering for yourself what you have to do, how, and why. Good luck with that last part - it still eludes me. [Feb 2014, p.91]

An incredibly unique and atmospheric game about discovery. If only the discoveries didn't feel so far apart. [Nov 2013, p.90]

With a Boards Of Canada-esque ambient soundtrack and a simple but colorful and distinctive palette, MirrorMoon EP is a game you can lose yourself in -- both in a good and bad way.

So why have I given MirrorMoon such a low score? Because the controls are a broken mess. I don't mean the galaxy flight control screen either. I mean just trying to change options etc... don't work.

MirrorMoon feels remarkably like a half-written hobbyist project that someone then decided to charge money for. Putting in standard twin-stick FPS controls wouldn't have hurt the feel of the game but it would have made it a lot more accessible.

Not being able to configure controls really doesn't help either. Having the controller only work on the moons (but then be un-disableable (word)) is a pain. JoyToKey is your friend.

Give it a couple of patches (which haven't happened) and this game could be enjoyable. Or at least an experience.

And this is no exception. The game's atmosphere feels very surreal and it can become fun and rewarding when you keep discovering new things in the level. It's relatively simple though as far as gameplay goes and although you might enjoy it, it's not something you would pick every time you feel bored, but it's still a pretty good game. 7/10 Full Review »

The game is easy to pick up on, although it has minimal in game descriptions. This gives the game a very satisfying feeling when you figure something out. I am a couple hours in, and I can say for sure, from the moment you open it to the time you take a break, the game is stunning, and VERY well executed. My only fault with this game is it's visual simplicity. It sets up the player in an environment I still am not accustomed too, as it feel cartoon-ish. I love the game's price tag and the game-play is very unique and a nice break from the usual run n gun, plat-former, survival, or horror game. This is a bit more than a puzzle game as it immerses the player in a world with what I feel are problems, not puzzles. This game was a fantastic buy and I am honored to review this game before anybody else Full Review »
