This is awesome! It has amazing mechanics and is so fun to play, however... it's way too short and the story feels farfetched.

I'm going to give this one a 7/10 for now, but fully expect that score to improve once more maps/zones, items, and increased difficulties are added down the road. Expand

To get good loot you have to play the game a lot and play on the highest difficulty you can handle, that isnt the problem. The problem is even on the highest difficulty possible the loot is complete garbage and 99% of the items you find will be recycled, there is not really a rewarding feeling to get loot because of this and it will take days of playtime to get a really really good set of loot. I think with that this is pathetic. Also you hit the max difficulty really fast, would have been nice if there was a difficulty after apocalypse with 5-6 more individual difficultys. One boss can be cheesed by standing somewhere you cant get hit and spam your bow

Besides these problems the game is really really good and I recommend it at full price, the graphics, the level design and even though I think the loot system sucks there is a **** ton of different armor, bows, melee and artifacts. The game is also very short to get through the ''story'', I think anyone can do it within 3-4 hours but to get to apocalypse and beat every level on the highest difficulty is gonna take some time.

An entertaining dungeon crawler to play with friends, but lacks variety and is kind of boring in solitary voyages. I think the game creators were aware of this, hence the game length, but it does have a bit of replayability if you happen to like it, along with more challenging modes. This game would be really good in the long run once bugs and new features come...May even be a nice diablo copy like what the devs have stated!

I think this game had a lot of potential but they were just so lazy ... i thought about 7 things that could make this game more interesting, more complex and not so ''for kids'' like. Also that **** about 24 hours of game play i did it in about 10 hours. So dissapointed.

It’s a fun little romp, if you have any experience in games you can probably blow through the game in like 4-6 hours, but the game is ment to be played over and over with friends/family and different load outs each run through.

However there isn’t much use of the “Minecraft” element outside of art direction, there isn’t any crafting and and doesn’t really feel like Minecraft. Overall it’s

Overall it’s not a bad game, just don’t get it if you’re expecting any Minecraft related features and maybe wait for it to go on sale, 20 bucks is a little steep for what it currently has to do And the game drops a point because the game already has paid DLC in the way (feels kinda gross)

    Decent at best...
It has a really nice feel to it, combat is smooth abilities are cool and the artstyle is just what yo expect..
Other than that there is just not enough content to bite into for it to be worth it.

There are no mechanics carried over from Minecraft - no crafting, no destructible environments, no ability to build structures - and many features such as The Nether, Mushroom Bios, Ice Bios etc are absent as well. Also, only a few items such as the pickaxes and fishing rods are real items from original Minecraft, ever other item is a new item made for this game, it doesn't feel like Minecraft, just feels like a Minecraft re-skin of a game totally irrelevant to the source game.

The core game has a lot of polish, don't get me wrong. Game is a lot of fun to play, and the enchanting system allows for lots of diverse play-styles and customisation. Levels although repetitive are fun, the loot system is well balance, good variety of enemies, great visuals and music etc. However, the game is tiny, the story is almost non-existent, the gameplay is not good enough to warrant a second play through and the fact that there is DLC already despite the small size is a real low blow as well.

I'm kind of just confused as to why this exists? If you're not going to bring anything from Minecraft except a superficial reproduction of its exterior then why even bother? I can't help but feel this is a cheap cash in rather than a creative spin-off title. Not a bad game by any means, but not worth purchasing I'd say.

The Game is fun, especially with friends in koop, but its lacking a lot of content and depth. I know its a game for Kids and for that its a good start. But it should be a little bit more, the campain is very short but also very difficult in some parts, especially the finalboss.

So I would recommend the Game for one playthrough, for more than that we have to see what future updates

Lacks replayability, and the story is short and uninteresting. The procedural generation seems unnecessary for this style game. However, the gameplay is mildly enjoyable on your first playthrough as long as you are patient for some of the mindbogglingly slow sections.

Minecraft Dungeons is a interesting twist on the very popular sandbox game, Minecraft.

The game is doing really well at showing what Minecraft with dungeon crawler elements would look like. With the games small portion of content, which is based a lot around just playing the same level over and over again to get every piece of loot you can get in that specific level, if you wanna 100%

The games story isn't quite interesting either, and also very short. Players can complete the game, if they have a few hours to spare.

The game shows really off that the fact it's for kids. And with a understanding mindset, that the game is for kids and so on. Mojang could at least given it a little more depth to returning Minecraft fans.

With a small portion of content, few item choices and a short but not that interesting story. Minecraft Dungeons is a game that won't be memorized in a long time.

TLDR: Nice try, lacks content, bad progression and gearing system, a bit buggy and gets boring really fast 5/10
(Played other games in the genre before like Diablo II and III, path of exile, torchlight I and II and I already have 15 hours in the game)
A nice try from Mojang, and sadly thats it, nothing more than a nice try. The game is all around polished, with a few minor

(Played other games in the genre before like Diablo II and III, path of exile, torchlight I and II and I already have 15 hours in the game)
A nice try from Mojang, and sadly thats it, nothing more than a nice try.
The game is all around polished, with a few minor bugs(buggy/chunky movement, mobs spawning into objects), the gameplay is smooth but gets boring after a couple of hours.
The game lacks key features to become a clean member of the genre.
The gameplay is boring and uninteractive, lack of diversity in mobs and enemy enchantments just supports this statement.
The game lacks "indirect progression", the players don't want to craft the weapon they need with enchantments they want obviously, but we need a different system other then this full random mess the game uses, only thing you can control in progression is farming in an area where the item can drop(not taking level difference in said items, different and/or unnecessary enchantments on them which give no help to your build in to count)
The progression is very weak, get item, get level, enchant it if the said item has any useful enchantments and thats it. The game lacks crafting, different kind of merchants and means of getting gear. And one huge problem: THE GAME LACKS PLAYER TO PLAYER TRADING.
The players should be able to modify gear in some regard, changing enchantments or stats on them.
The game has major balancing issues too, some builds are overall better in all terms(cough, soul build) making any other builds seem useless.
The game turns into a repetative farm fest, trying to get the item to drop in the right enchantments or farming emeralds (currency in the game) and buying FULLY RANDOM GEAR and thats it, thats the whole progression, in the later stages of game (after the default playthrough) the XP levels to enchant become less of an issue, as you'll get overleveled and undergeared really fast.
There is currently no endgame content in the game, only the repetative default "mission" maps. The game lacks end game content, like bossing, adventure hunting, fun quests, labyrinths, PVP and those are only just a few things that other games have in the genre.

This game was obviously made just to farm on top of the original Minecraft. This is probably why the game in general has little inspiration, creativity and is very short. BUT this does not mean that the game is to be played out. It's fun and playing with a friend adds to the fun.

The gaming experience is not that bad but story seems to not exist at all and playing at the same locations thousent times just to see everything the game has to offer is just disgusting.

Good gameplay, low bugs. Very funny played with others friends and easy to invite it.
The story is trivial and foregone. Other problem is that it's too short. If you want to expand your adventure in game you have to pay too soon in my opinion. Another problem, DLCs too short in relation to what you pay.
    Unnerving.

Amusingly, Telltale’s Story Mode had more Minecraft in it than Dungeons does: it involved a little mining and crafting, at least. Dungeons features neither, and although its levels are made of blocks, they are indestructible. [Issue#247, p.67]

Minecraft Dungeons is a perfect game for young players who haven't had a chance to play the Diablo series yet. Otherwise it is just an untraditional take on the hack n' slash RPGs with something to keep you interested for a while. [Issue#304]

Mojang's famous video game series goes all action-RPG and proves a fine introduction to the world of fantasy looting.
