Minecraft Dungeons meat is in its satisfying combat and complex character-building opportunities, and in that, the game delivers by the truckload.

We are faced with a universal title, suitable for any type of user, simple but not trivial: we believe it is right therefore to welcome with open arms productions of this caliber, capable of combining lightness and depth with good balance.

Mojang's famous video game series goes all action-RPG and proves a fine introduction to the world of fantasy looting.

Minecraft Dungeons is an enchanting game that will keep you, and your kids, entertained for a good few hours. A decade on from the original game, this is an exciting move for the behemoth that is the Minecraft franchise, and I can't wait to see where it goes next.

Minecraft Dungeons is an incredibly charming dungeon crawler that doesn't have the depth to replace its counterparts, but it's still a blast while it lasts.

Minecraft has proven itself to be quite the enduring and endearing IP over the past decade, and Dungeons is now partially responsible for that legacy.

Minecraft Dungeons is a dungeon-crawling adventure that promises a lot of fun for gamers young and old alike. While its replay value may wane with time, a constantly growing progression system and its various difficulty settings offer a lot for those less affected by the repetition.

Minecraft Dungeons is a light take on a genre that oftentimes takes itself much too seriously. The story is family-friendly, most levels are good recreations of the Minecraft biomes, and the gloom, blood, and gore of most ARPGs are replaced with the cute monsters and iconic items we know and love from the Minecraft universe. With a short campaign mode and lack of crafting, Minecraft Dungeons may not be a hardcore offering that will give you hundreds of hours of play, but it is a perfect way to spend a few hours playing together with friends or your kids while you wait for the next season of your favorite dungeon crawler to start up.

Minecraft Dungeons is the perfect distraction and while it doesn’t offer much in terms of originality, it’s an enjoyable block… err… hack ‘n slash game set the wonderful backdrop of Minecraft in this family friendly version of Diablo with good gameplay, graphics and audio to help get you lost in pure entertainment. It’s also a game that is played better with friends so if you need some mindless entertainment, check out Minecraft Dungeons!

Minecraft Dungeons is a bright and colourful dungeon crawler, with interesting enemies and fast, frantic combat. It doesn't bring anything new to the genre, and takes away quite a lot of its complexities, leaving us with a simple, accessible, unremarkable yet still fun game.

Minecraft Dungeons is a decent Diablo-like action game but doesn't stand out in any aspect.

What it lacks in depth, it more than makes up for in pure unadulterated joy. The simplistic combat, coupled with the ridiculously easy drop-in-and-play gameplay makes for a fun and engaging roguelite dungeon crawler either alone or with friends. You’ll have fun, that’s guaranteed, and is perfect for all ages. Don’t expect a complex story, rich with lore, but you’ll almost certainly have a good time if you’re a fan of its predecessor.

Minecraft Dungeons is a breezy dungeon crawler that reproduces Minecraft's playful attitude.

Minecraft: Dungeons stole 10 hours of my life, but it only took half of that to finish the game. When the difficulty level rises and Creepers multiply, the game becomes very enjoyable. However, to truly appreciate this game, you have to play it with someone. If you have a trusty team and love pixels - the game will be worth your time.

Minecraft Dungeons isn’t the finest ARPG I’ve ever picked up, but it’s a terrific first step in your journey. Minecraft fans and action RPG junkies alike would do well to give this one a good look.

Where LEGO games run out of steam pretty quickly (even unlocking new hidden characters doesn't really change your tactics), Minecraft Dungeons does a wonderful job incentivizing experimentation without making it difficult to figure out. Get new item. Equip new item. See how new item makes you stronger, more explosive, or just plain weirder. Kill mobs. Repeat. [Ars Technica Approved]

Minecraft Dungeons doesn't do much to change the game, and it stumbles in ways that threaten to push away longtime fans of the genre. But it's a compelling and entertaining mash-up that's hard to put down once you get into the groove.

For now, I can say that I am enjoying what Minecraft Dungeons provides. Having never played Minecraft before, and experiencing the charm and wonderment it has provided to millions only now, I do hope that its ARPG spinoff continues to entertain me as I progress further. Fingers crossed, so stay tuned for our updated review.
  4. It’s a robust piece of design that you could well consider a triumph, given just how many ways in which the concept of an ARPG based on a construction game phenomenon could have ended in disaster. And I’m confident in recommending it as worth its price to even the most jaded click-stabber, especially one with even a passing familiarity with Minecraft. But the fact it’s been executed so competently leaves me wishing the developers had been a bit more reckless, frankly. A bit more experimental, in adapting its parent property to an alien genre. Because while the results might have been profoundly weird, it’s weird things – like Minecraft itself was, when it first appeared – that change the landscape of gaming.

Don't let the Minecraft name fool you. This is not a good game in any way shape or form. It's so unfinished and unpolished that they shouldDon't let the Minecraft name fool you. This is not a good game in any way shape or form. It's so unfinished and unpolished that they should be ashamed of releasing it like this. The levels included last about 3-4 hours. The drops are so similar it makes virtually no difference what you actually get or equip. They left parts of the game intentionally unfinished to force you to buy later DLC packs which is something I absolutely hate from developers. An example being the slots you get for equipment. They didn't even follow the standard Minecraft experience...head chest legs and boots....you get literally 1 spot for "armor" that drops as a single set. I would expect them to start adding the actual pieces in the DLCs which is absurd.

To sum up my experience with Minecraft dungeons....I have played better dungeon crawlers on flash games and it is totally not worth spending a dime on this travesty.
