Spank! The problem is that the game really needed a huge injection of adrenaline, but it would appear that all that was offered was a cup of tea and a biscuit.
-
The sound is mediocre. Some little things are really neatly done, like the different engine sounds, hooters, rain noise, as well as the city-becoming announcers unfortunately, most of the samples have just been taken from the first part.
-
As Samuel Johnson once said, He who has not played "Midtown Madness" will find this game a treat indeed; others may be visited by an unsettling sense of déjà vu. And thats also a direct quote. I think.
-
A cheap redux of the original.
-
While the gameplay here is still incredibly engaging, if you have the first release there is no really compelling reason to upgrade.
-
Put simply and colloquially, this game sucks. Bad. There is extremely few good things about this game (and I'm being open-minded about it - *I* haven't found any good things about the game whatsoever).
-
Because of the innate appeal of driving over, under, and through other vehicles and buildings, Midtown Madness 2 feels like the best game in the worldfor a few days or hours at least.
-
CNET GamecenterIf, however, you want to move beyond the limitations of the original, or are simply interested in an action driving game that will remain compelling for months to come, Midtown Madness 2 will most likely not shift your gears.
-
We deserved stronger gameplay, better AI, better graphics, and better physics.

TheKidMar 5, 2002It's because of the endless new Cars, Mods, Maps, etc. As long as there's someone willing to build add-ons it will be a great 10 game.
