    Nice story, very good gameplay. I really liked capturing forts and building my army, but after 10 or 15 hours it gets repetitive. Also having microtransaction in a game like this is unacceptable.

    O jogo se perde completamente ao introduzir micro transações. No final do jogo fica evidente a forçada para terminar as missões as comprando.
    O jogo é bonito, tem uma gameplay maneira, história justa e com algumas ligações com o filme do senhor dos anéis.

    Fun strategic game. A little gem for everybody loving Lord of the Rings. The graphics are sick! Only bad is that achievements is a bit tedious.

    Скучно. Много всего но при этом как-то скучно. не смог пересилить себя и пройти даже за одного персонажа, а их там 3. Весь геймплей сводится просто к выкашиванию локации от противников и нахождения боса. Повторить. Поиграл 3 вечера и удалил.

    Shadow of War, is an well improved sequel game of Shadow of Mordor.
    Shadow of Mordor was an incomplete game which trying to new game design mechanics called Nemesis system. My theory is, Game developers had found a new Game Design mechanics which is Nemesis system, and they made this game for only trying this mechanic. And that was obvious the lack of every aspect of the game. However, in    Shadow of War, is an well improved sequel game of Shadow of Mordor.
    Shadow of Mordor was an incomplete game which trying to new game design mechanics called Nemesis system. My theory is, Game developers had found a new Game Design mechanics which is Nemesis system, and they made this game for only trying this mechanic. And that was obvious the lack of every aspect of the game. However, in the new sequel, the game has largely completed all the missing pieces in the old game.
    With the new improvement, i can hardly found a bad aspect of the game. Open world size is enough. Not so small and neither not so big. New open world is much more livefull with great buildings and living spaces. But still there is almost none wild life, and this is a realy big lack for the open world.
    Open world event and main quest designs variety are too few. There is only few quest types for main quest and either open world events. But thanks to nemesis system and joyful core game mechanics, this small variety doesn't disturbt the player too much.
    Game's mechanics are definitely good enough. There is too many mechanics in the skill tree, and the quest rewards. All the animations, platform and combat mechanics, visualities are satisfying enough.
    Game's story is not that attractive. Most of the main characters are far from emotionality. All the characters except for Celebrimbor and shelob's are feeling like soulless dolls. Story lines and the cut scene's are definitly not the strongest point of the game.
    It was a tasty game on middle earth world. I finished the game and never seen a microtransaction. I liked the game, and happy for playing a game on Tolkien's world.    … Expand

    So I brought the game on sale for around 20$ and I have to say, there is a great game for that price. The action is above average, if I have to give a similarity, it would be batman arkham. Next up is the story, It took me around 25 hours to do the story which is definitely not that long. The game's nemesis system is a fun and creative way to add additional playtime and fun.     Microtransactions in an $60 single player game is like buying a nice car and then after driving it for 1 year, a message pops up on the dashboard saying you can only drive a maximum of 40 mph unless you purchase more "credits".

    This is the prequel to the Shadow of Mordor game and completes the story of Talion as you finally get a Ring of Power to enslave orc and do your bidding. The gameplay is solid with upgrades for each ability and this time you finally get to ride a drake which is a mini dragon. The conquering camps are replaced by conquering Castles which you put a siege on and take your army to fightThis is the prequel to the Shadow of Mordor game and completes the story of Talion as you finally get a Ring of Power to enslave orc and do your bidding. The gameplay is solid with upgrades for each ability and this time you finally get to ride a drake which is a mini dragon. The conquering camps are replaced by conquering Castles which you put a siege on and take your army to fight against the defender and vice versa. You can put spies and minions as well which can help you take over them in a strategic manner. The game finally gives you to fight Balrog but the boss-battle would have been more epic if it was not just defeating him by giving him acupressure. I like how they changed Shelob to a goth lady from a spider and enriched the story with her. After you watch the first ending of the game, you bring Order to Mordor which is very tedious process of conquering and defending the castles over and over again until you finally get the true ending. The DLC is great as you play with minor characters which come in the main story but have their own weapon system and gadgets which make it fun.… Expand

    I loved the Shadow of Mordor, i really did. Years later this one was announced, and i got for free after buying some hardware on a local store. I immediately jumped it, and after 2 hours i gave up, idk why just didn't feel like playing it. A couple of months later i forced myself to play again....     Довели до ума то что и без того неплохо работало, серьезных изменений не вносили, добавили пару плюшек. Итого: Ничуть не менее круто, чем первая часть, а по моему даже более. Ох уж эта система врагов, вообще отдельный кайф доставляет.     like Shadow of mordor The game will push you to grind after a while before you can continue advancing through the main campaign. Unless you go through the store. Clearly a Pay to win. In a single player game.. disappointing

    Если история первой части была немного простенькой, то история второй части немного туповатая. Повсюду бессмысленные мувы и новые деревянные персонажи. Талион с Келебомбом вообще ни капли не развились с первой части. Shadow of War — доведенная до ума первая часть, где есть недомультиплеер. Как же этой игре не хватает полноценного мультиплеера...Если история первой части была немного простенькой, то история второй части немного туповатая.     This is one of my favorite games. Tight, complex combat that is similar to the Batman Arkham games. This is a review AFTER the grotesque micro transactions that plagued this game, and gave it a score that is far too low. The nemesis system provides for some interesting opponents.

    I heard about microtransactions, and lootboxes.
    I bought this game later, and they removed those.
    This game is amazing, i loved every single bit of it.
    Nemesis is amazinng and sometimes can be very funny..
    its worth of try.

    Cons:
    Visually, it feels like a knock-off Witcher 3. Saturated colours and so on, but just not polished enough to actually look good. The bleak and dark aesthetic of SOM was much more gripping and fitting to the series' depiction of Mordor.
    Mechanics overload - every button has 12 different actions and you will end up not using many of them.
    Nemesis mini-cutscenes are unskippable - this becomes annoying when you hear the same dialogue repeatedly.
    Performance is not as sharp as first game.
    Making the orcs more goofy instead of brutal was a straight-up bad call. Creatures that are supposed to be violent and bashful are now quirky and clumsy. It feels less epic to control them.
    Significantly more grind-heavy than the previous game.
    Why does the main character look so disfigured compared to his model in the first game? What happened?    … Expand

    The nemesis system is highly overrated and gets tiresome fast with all the interruptions and sometimes absolute aids RNG of it (i.e. overlord literally immune to everything except stealth sure is fun - hint: stealth doesn't work there).
    An infinite enemy spawn out of thin air combined with an absolute ****    The unexpected worst game played this year so far (besides diablo immoral ofc).
    The nemesis system is highly overrated and gets tiresome fast with all the interruptions and sometimes absolute aids RNG of it (i.e. overlord literally immune to everything except stealth sure is fun - hint: stealth doesn't work there).
    An infinite enemy spawn out of thin air combined with an absolute **** for combat flow, abysmal targetting and clunky controls in general, only add to the toxicity of gameplay.
    It's OK'ish for the story alone until the final act, but after that, all the issues of the game show off, and only those with too much free time and patience for their own good can enjoy.    … Expand

    Really don't know why the game is a 4.4 but I really liked the game, was a bit dull in the beginning but the nemesis system and stealth, gameplay, story is REALLY awesome. Also enjoyed the multiplayer quite a bit. DON'T buy the dlc tho holy **** its a scam

    I haven't been able to play this game for many years, even though I really wanted to. It seemed like a failure compared to the first game. First of all, the size of the game takes up too much space even for today. 100 GB is a very exaggerated size. It's hard to understand why they decided to release it without compressing it like this. The story is mediocre again like the first game, but II haven't been able to play this game for many years, even though I really wanted to. It seemed like a failure compared to the first game. You explore Mordor, kill hundreds of orcs and also build up your own orc forces to capture fortresses.

    Graphically it is very good for the time and has an art style that fits what I expect from the setting. What keeps it from being a standard action RPG is the Nemesis system. Orcs have their own command structure and by killing or dominating orc captains you can affect the world. Orcs can gain in levels and abilities, and hunt each other down. Your captains can betray you, or rescue you at a critical moment.

    The innovation over the previous game is the fortress dynamic, you can build up your forces, infiltrate enemy captains' bodyguards and eventually conquer a fortress gaining a base and controlling a region.

    My only complaint is that the fortress assaults are such a fun part of the game, I wish there were more of them. Also, the combat can be a bit grindy and is best played in small batches.

    There is a loot system based on the type of tribes you face and a streamlined crafting and upgrade system, that doesn't get in the way of the fun parts of the game.

    Overall it is a fun game with great visuals and an understanding of what makes Middle Earth a cool game setting.    … Expand

    Nemesis is a one-hit wonder of a mechanic. Everything else in Middle-earth is mediocre at best, but Nemesis makes it all worthwhile, since every playthrough is truly unique – a feature none of its triple-A competitors can offer. [Issue#225, p.38]

    A lot of people were upset to find out that Shadow of War has loot boxes, and they are kind of annoying. Unfortunately, loot boxes is the least of its problems.
