Voice acting is awesome by almost everyone. Some orcs sound hilariously funny and some sound like an a%^&hole. Love the nemesis system for replaying value. Overall very pleased except for the act IV of story and the fact that this could have been earn silver to play game rather than pay to get gold game. but it doesnt make the game bad in my experience Expand

This game is a god tier. If you liked ME:SoM - you will like this even more.
Pls ignore buttblasted kiddies who fell for transactions meme. They're trying to ruin games score just like they did it with Deus Ex Mankind Divided.

Heavily critized game. You don't need to buy any loot boxes etc. If you completed the first game, Shadow of Mordor, you'll be a champion in Shadow of War.

Game feels a bit harder than the first one, defeating orc captains or other bosses sometimes make you feel like you're playing Dark Souls simulator because of the dodge moves you make. But mostly, game is very fun to play. They say it's grindy, well, at least it's not as grindy as GTA V. In Shadow of War, you forget you're grinding because of the nemessis system, a lot of random orc captain encounters and item drops from them are another things which you're already grinding without realizing and having fun.
Main character looks far worse than in the Mordor game, but Celebrimbor looks far better. My only complaint is i wish main character looked more badass, and graphics are better. However, in some maps, environment details look top notch, in some others, look terrible. Also game characters (orcs, humans etc.) have almost no lightning on them, which makes them look flat. And, while game looks worse than Mordor, it also performs worse than Mordor. I, personally, locked the FPS to 30 and set almost everything to max graphics to enjoy it. It looks more cinematic and if you have terrible fps drops, 30fps lock helps you.
And another thing, Shadow of Mordor is more brutal. (blood effects, more frequent decapitations in SoM) SoM Players will find out what i'm trying to say.
I've completed the game, saw the ending. One of the most memorable game endings ever, and no, you don't have to pay anything to see that ending(s). There's one ending which you can see after main quests, and other one is... Well after doing more quests (i don't want to give spoilers).
Instead of boycoting a game without playing it, first play it. If there are issues which heavily affect your gaming experience, then you're free to give all those 0-1-2-3-4 points. No **** crashes, no game breaking bugs, nothing. At least i didn't encounter any serious bug.

If there was any way to give this game a 10 I would try to do it because I really enjoyed the first one and I love the Tolkien universe dearly.

Visuals are good, mood is still good and the story is engaging for the most part aside from the addition of a couple of non canon characters who are a mixed bag (Carnan is beyond irritating).
But the problem with this sequel is that it seems to drain the magic out of the experience by turning into a chaotic mess that quickly becomes a by-the-numbers open world game livened up only by the excellent nemesis system.
I could point to other weak social justice propaganda inclusions like a female Gondorian soldier and a black Gondorian (though the game tries to justify this by saying he's one of the Haradrim who joined Gondor and it almost works). Problem with social justice crusading in games is that unless you give some meaning to your social engineering within the context of the game world everyone knows its just a 'diversity' hire which cheapens the whole experience and shows no respect for the source material. That said, its not that bad and the characters seem passable if you can forgive the snub to the lore.
But the cardinal sin committed here is the introduction of loot boxes in a single player game - absolutely unforgivable.
Overall... bit of a disappointment really.

I hesitated to buy this based on all the negative reviews. I assumed it would be a non-stop barrage of commercials for the microtransactions. I know there are boosts and gear I can buy, but I'm progressing at a satisfying pace without them. Maybe I'll get to the end and be frustrated by some pay wall or whatever, but even if so, I don't think it will be that big of a deal for me in light of the numerous hours I've enjoyed already. I would probably ignore the paywall and move on to the next game, per my usual.

So putting aside the nothing burger (for me anyway) that is all the negative hype about the microtransactions, I am really impressed with the game and I'm enjoying it. The graphics and gameplay are great and I've had no issues with bugs. If you liked the original, you'll love this one. Just ignore the haters and don't buy anything extra if you don't want. Simple.

This is probably my favourite game to date, and my first computer was a Vic20. I have finished the game and can confirm that the ending is NOT behind a paywall. In fact, The Nemesis system shines again, and the recruiting and leveling up orcs is addictive. Runs very well on my machine which is a few years old with a 770. I was actually surprised at how well my system handled it.

If you let the bad press about the completely skippable loot boxes turn you away from this game, you'll be missing out on a very good and unique experience that isn't likely to be featured in another game until, perhaps, a sequel to this one is made. (Actual score is more like a 9, but to combat the collective "REEEE" people have corrupted the user score with, I'll make it a 10).

Look I like a challenge but this game is like an endless horde mode on some different maps sold as a full price game. And on top of that the enemies literally just SPAWN IN ON TOP OF YOU all the times when battling captains.

I'm really disappointed about those things in a game that could be lore rich (I don't even touch this subject because it has been covered before) and engaging but somehow I lose interest on the rest some hours in.

There are tons of enemies, skills and gear. The unique bosses are fun with a wide variety of weaknesses, strengths and attacks. Controlling enemies to add to your army is a brilliant addition though I've only dabbled in this. The graphics are pretty good but just a hair under some recent new games that I've played. You can tell that this is just an upgrade of the previous game and engine.
Sometimes the controls can be frustrating. I'm trying to climb a wall in a hurry and my character is doing flips at its base. I'm trying to climb to the top of the building and my character stalls because I forget I need to press A to vault up. Pressing too hard on the right stick centers the camera. When mashing dodge keys the camera pops up accidentally. Stuff like this adds up and makes me think the control layout could have been done better, A recent game with similar game-play Assassin's Creed Origins finally got the control down perfect, they should take note.
Though stealth is done well and it's my go to play style in a game like this, getting into combat is a major chore. There are always a TON of enemies around. And, initially, each enemy take 5-6 hits to kill so fights are needlessly long. You will always be taking on a minimum of a half dozen at a time and chances are more will join in. This makes it impossible to chase down intel orcs or if, god-forbid, your target boss retreats. There's no way you can catch him so you'll have to fight him all over again. Sometimes I scout the area and attack when suddenly a new unforeseen orc-boss pops out of nowhere and I'm f**** if I don't run. I don't get that.
Death is so brutal in that the orc that kills you will level up a couple times, some other orcs may level and vacant spots will be filled with new captain recruits. Major buzz kills like this abound.
Aside from those negatives there are plenty of cool surprises in this game and I'll leave you with two. I'm fighting a boss above my level and I nearly have him beaten when he knocks me down for the third time. Usually you get 2 quick-time attempts to save your life and get back into the fight well I failed the one. Just as the axe came down in slow motion, a random soldier of Gondor jumped in and saved my life... killing the low HP boss for me.. THAT WAS JUST AMAZING AND I WENT WILD!! He rattle off some quip about chatty orcs being their demise and ran off into the fight. So cool.
Another equally cool event: another orc had beaten me but refuse to let me die without a real fight so my HP were healed and we fought again, but I beat him the second time. Moments like this give the game so much heart and personality like anything else I've seen.
It's the closest thing to being in a movie.

The reason for my mid-to-low score is the overall story and pacing of the game. It's as if the writers just made a a checklist for some stuff to happen and then extremely quickly glazed over those plot points in some cutscenes that are far apart in the story. And when the story actually starts to get interesting, the game is suddenly over. (Well, for me the game is over once the shadow wars start, since then it's just a ~10 hour grind to get a final cutscene which I just found on youtube).

I had hoped this game would be better, and I'm surprised that what left a bad taste in my mouth wasn't the microtransactions (which I barely noticed was in the game. I never felt a need for it, even on the Nemesis Diffuculty), but instead it was the story and pacing that made it all fall flat. It's a shame, since the overall gameplay mechanics are really fleshed out and a lot of fun.

The battle system is ripped of from Arkham Knight and sometimes can be really cool, but it quickly becomes tedious. Most of the time orcs overwhelm you and you can do nothing about it. All that is left is to permablock their attacks or run away. Also there will always be some archers breaking your combo chain or some random orc will hit you from behind where you couldnt even see him. The combat is 50/50 fun and frustrating. But the further you get, the more frustrating it becomes.
And that is so even if you spend a lot of time to grind and collect all the stupid stuff devs left on the map. You kinda have to do those boring challenges and fetch quests, cause you get skill points from them which are pretty important.
Nemesis system is pretty interesting, but pointless as it never stops generating new orcs. You can kill a ton of them, but still they will be replaced with another ones, making your efforts kinda pointless. Truth be said I quit the game just before sieging the first fortress, but I doubt anything will change after that.
Besides, if I get bored preparing for the first siege, how boring it will get doing the same 4 more times?
The art and map design is mediocre at best. The Minas Ithil is good, but then you start to notice that every location has almost the same buldings and towers (even cave locations, jeez), which is disappointing.
All in all, I deleted the game, cause I have better use for my time than to pointlesly run around and slaughter endless orcs. You can try it, but right now I will honestly recommend to get South Park or new Wolfenstein.
And yes, microtransactions suck. This games deserve no more than 6/10 IMHO

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. it's ... OK. Would give it a C+ , maybe a B-, but never an A. There is no way that it is an A.

I wanted to like this title. I gave it a good run through, several restarts, but quit before I finished the storyline ... out of sheer boredom. A lot of effort went into this product. I give them that. A lot more was needed.

The result is interesting and sometimes fun, but not always. The game is a lot of work though, and it feels like work. Hard drudgery at times.

There are also problems in concept, design, and commercial strategy. Here are just four issues to give you an idea:
    1. NEW RING
The 'new ring' gives you less utility than the old dominate power in the previous title (a power which you possessed just for being a wraith....in Shadow of War you need a ring). Fact is, Orc champions can often resist the domination power and they seem to be able to overcome the effects at will (Random betrayals, iron will). What a lousy gadget. Celimbrimbor definitely seems to have lost his artisan's touch.
    2. FORTS
The process of taking and owning a fort is a huge letdown. It isn't interesting, at all, but it could have been. Wasn't this the major selling point of the game? It looked great in the preview.
    3. SILLY STORY
As an example: Idril, the scrawny fifteen year old girl, is a champion orc slayer....killing hordes of Uruks, which are bred for war! Oh come on! Is this Orwellian doublethink?
    4. HAND IN YOUR WALLET
Expensive product ... and they start trying to sop up more cash right out of the gate!
I support capitalism, but I think in their quest for shareholder value Warner allowed monetization considerations to be a factor early in the design process. I find that this approach kills the creativity and the 'magical' elements that come together to make a triple A title.

Warner had two great sleeper titles (Shadow of Mordor and Mad Max) that made me optimistic for the future of this publisher. I hope they learn from this lackluster release and improve for next time.

The game is an acceptable evolution of Shadow of Mordor with a combat system and more balanced difficulty and, therefore, more interesting. The separation of the game spaces in 5 differentiated regions turned out to be a "half-way" success that gives a variety of scenarios, but it is not used because it does not grant unique environmental elements that complement the mechanics of gameplay.

Likewise, the progression of the character feels extremely comfortable, up to level 40 at least. Then the remaining skill points acquired even though they serve to complete the skill tree become relatively complex to acquire. Especially for granting some of them through the progression of missions or collectibles.

I see the most serious flaw in the narrative level, where you do not feel identification or intrigue to explore the story that counts. Added to that practically the game does not take shape until well into chapter II with the most established mechanics. It does not feel organic or fluid in the first instance. It almost seems insipid and irrelevant.

The graphic level seems average, not sublime because it has a nice finish to look at. But it feels "past", almost old in comparison to the titles offered in this same temporality of release.

The real attraction is in the nemesis system, much better complemented by new possibilities and combinations that manage to generate identification with the war chief and captains that you face or dominate. The jewel of the game is here in all its glory.

The management and interface is quite intuitive, it is not annoying and allows you to easily deploy through the selection menus. With the map it is a bit more rudimentary but just as functional.

The Achilles heel falls into a built-in micro-payment system. Although it has no "real" implications for the basic online mode it has, it feels almost a steal for the ridiculously high profits you can acquire in such a short time, which completely breaks the balance of the game and its development during levels and zones. in which the player unfolds. The game is not really bad, but it turned out to be a kick to the consumer's cheek by proposing this semi-pay to win system that completely eliminates the attraction it has to show.

In short: as a sequel is fairly well achieved with points to improve to innovate in narrative and exploitation of a single system in which no one has thought to venture even (the nemesis system). But the micro transactions completely damage the positive that may have and even transgress the player / consumer itself that acquires the title either in pre-sale or on the date of release.

    The Good
Nemesis System - One of the best Game mechanics to come out of the gaming industry.
Decent Combat Mechanics - Talions Skill tree makes for a fluid play style.
Some Canon Bending story - a positive for me since I am a Tolkien Noob.
Look and Feel - The world is Breath taking though often same feeling at times, nevertheless easy to get sucked into the story.

The Bad - Oh My... here we Go
The Camera - Often had an Unresponsive camera during battle and traversing which respectively makes getting stuck in the world and off screen attacks very prominent, the camera would routinely not respond to my input of a camera pan.
The Pit Fights - OMG this is the biggest offender in my opinion as all of the ferocity that you face while fighting the Enemy seem to disappear in the pit, they just poke, prod and make noises at each other compared to the fights you have with the captains. This along with a stupidly imbalanced RNG that can have your dominated characters die to low level scrubs, this is just a stupid waste of time especially since you will spend a lot of time in the pit fights.
The Controls - It feels like the controls are fighting back at you almost all the time, Talion will often face and attack, move or preform an action in the direction opposite to where you are facing. The highly slick Arkham series of Combat scheme that made us love the first Shadow of Mordor is downright unfinished and unpolished here.
Excessively Grindy - This game really gave me my money's worth with side-quest busy work... But most of it is meaningless busy work since the EXP for the main missions and kills seems severely throttled as u cross level 25. No doubt designed to force players to buy the nasty loot boxes and exp boosts.. which got even worse once the said loot boxes were removed since the grind was already inbuilt into the game.
Act 4 GrindWall - Of course. But since Enough has been said about this considering the 3.5 user score I am not gonna elaborate. It just feels like a giant disappointment to not finish the game considering all the noted cons you have to deal with just for the True ending. Just Youtube it.

All in all Sadly this highly anticipated game turned out to be very underwhelming for me since Shadow of Mordor was a refreshing firestorm and scratched the itch of more Batman Arkham feels.

-5 stars for everything else being bad. You want a action rpg? Literally pick anything else. I'm getting tired of the Batman Arkham style of combat. Stuff like Kingdom Hearts or Kingdom of Amalur has way better gameplay when it comes to action.

full of content, diverse maps (although i dont like this kind of games without a single big map), there's the nemesis mode where we can invade fortresses and thats cool AF, and the Otcs, once again, are a whole lot interesting than other characters (specially Talion, the most uninteresting main character ever created in the history of video games. like, the frog from frogger is a lot more interesting)
actually, i think that's the actual worst part of the game, the buddy we play with is literally just a vessel for us to control. almost none of the missions is about me. playng as talion is like playing with one of those generic NPCs that sometimes come with us in any other game, I'd rather play as ratbag and i'm not kidding at all.

The combat, the skill system, the bosses, the story etc. The combat has been further refined, the skills are now more in number and have variations attached to them, there are several actual boss battles in this one unlike the first game where the only real boss fight was the Hammer, and finally the story. While the game doesn't care much for the lore, it tends to stay true to the movie canon. The story, ignoring lore discrepancies, is a good one IMO. It touches upon some really interesting themes and takes quite the interesting twists near the end. The new gear system is amazing and a ton of fun, adding a lot to build variety and such. The open world of Mordor is a joy to play through and experience. Then, of course, there's the Nemesis System. It has seen so much improvement from the first game, it's amazing. More interactions, more types of orcs, more varied and improved trait system, followers are no longer brainless zombies, among many other things. One will have to play it to grasp the full scope of it. It's truly incredible.

From seeing how positive both user reviews on Steam and critical reviews are, it should be obvious to anyone on this page looking for an honest review that the idiots rating it 1-2/10 have never played the game and have tried to review bomb this game over the lootbox controversy. The lootboxes were always useless in this game. Anyone who has played it will tell you that. The orcs you obtain are literally inferior 90% of the time in comparison to orcs you can snag from the open world by just playing the game. There's the Shadow Wars, hailed frequently as being "grindy" and encouraging lootboxes. Nothing could be further than the truth. People call the Shadow Wars (Act IV) grindy because it involves doing a sequence of things (defending/retaking forts) 20 or so times, over and over again. Using lootboxes do not help you here because a) Getting orcs isn't even the issue with Act IV, it's the repetitiveness (which some people like, myself included, since it's the only thing to do once the game's main story is over at the end of Act III) and b) The best orcs in the game assault you during these fort stages (therefore you have quite the endless supply of powerful orcs, making the already useless lootboxes even more useless). The notion that this Act encouraged lootboxes came from an idiotic review by Polygon and another review site, which was furthered by idiotic YouTubers like YongYea and Jim Sterling who never played the game personally to verify the truth of those reviews.

However, all of that matters little now anyway because there's an update coming today (or tomorrow, for some other people), that completely removes the option to purchase lootboxes from the Market (the ability to get them with real money was already removed in May, now the option to get them even with free Gold obtained in-game will be removed along with the entirety of the Market). It's a big update that changes Act IV to be much more streamlined (and adds dialogue and narrative elements), and adds a lot of new things like new gear, new skins etc. The developer, Monolith, has been very good terms of support and as always,. has succeeded once again in making a fantastic game that will have an enduring fanbase. So, my final score for this game would be a definite 10/10, A truly fantastic and enjoyable experience.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. My review is going to be based on actual gameplay for about 40 hours.

    The Good:

The first game shadow of mordor was a refreshing cross between Batman and Assassins creed inspired gameplay in the middle earth world. This game builds up on that and take gameplay further with some cool additions to it, no negatives here. At level 30 and above even on Nemesis difficulty game starts feeling less and less challenging, yet to play act 4 but till now barring couple of tough fights it's been a breeze post level 30. The fortress siege and its defenses sound cool at first but are not that great a mechanism for single player game and yet it has lot of emphasis on it. Graphics are awesome, at ultra getting smooth 60+ fps on gtx 1070 on 1080p which is nice. But this about is the good stuff.

    The Bad :

    1. Story : Frankly not a big fan of the story of this game, feels very uninteresting from the get go, not that first game had best story but still it was better in that aspect of story telling and staying lot closer to the lore.

    2. The Quality of Quests: Granted story quest is bit longer this time around, but you'll spend a lot of time killing uruk captains in various regions and participating into nemesis missions, to make ranger stronger and offcourse finding ideal captain allies based on strengths and weaknesses.

Edit : The grind sort of is unnecessary now and they have removed the store and made some nifty additions such as training uruks which kind of compensates for the RNG probabilities for legendary captains, Revising my score to 8(from original score of 5) after the recent changes. Definitely a good buy now )

This is a 6 out of 10, closer to a 5 than a 7, and I wouldn't recommend buying it unless at a discount or if you're REALLY desperate for more of the same gameplay as the previous installment.

I had a lot of fun with Shadow of Mordor, the previous game of the franchise, and just like then, the nemesis system absolutely carries Shadow of War on its back, that's undeniable. It serves as both the main source of fun and surprise in the game and, by comparison, a condemnation of everything else, because the orcs manage to be so much more interesting than any of the main characters or anything about the main plot. The random encounters and relationships you develop with orcs feel organic, engaging and full of personality, whereas the main questlines feel stale, boring and entirely by-the-numbers. Here's what 90% of the quests in the game amount to: first, meet this NPC in an arbitrary, eerily empty location in the world, typically with them just turning a corner like you're all hanging at a park instead of in the middle of orc-central, then you exchange 4 to 6 lines of dry and unimaginative dialogue and proceed to follow said NPC for a few minutes before killing a bunch of orcs. Repeat the same routine again and again for the next 50 hours and yes, the game ends up a massive slog, specially once you reach act II. There's no central hub, no logic to why or when you're meeting any of the characters, and once a quest ends NPCs just walk away into nothing, vanishing entirely from the world until they teleport back in for the next quest.

Even if we commend Warner Bros. for eventually removing the micro-transactions, it's also undeniable that the game was tailored to emphasize numbers and grinding more than fun in many ways, so they took away the greedy money-earning mechanism but the underlying structure that originally supported said mechanism is still there, ingrained throughout the game. Most of the weapon and gear drops are just a cheap rotation of the same 5, weak gear sets; the rune system is so simplistic and uneventful that there's barely any tangible sense of progress nor impact in different configurations, it's just bloat, something to help justify item drops from orcs, and while we're on the subject of bloat, there are also side-quests which just amount to going to a spot and pressing a single button - Shelob memories are literally just a single cutscene broken into dozens of still frames. Never before have I felt so tempted to just abandon a game mid-playthrough out of raw boredom like this.

The soundtrack is completely unremarkable, at its best managing to be a pale imitation of tracks from the Lord of the Rings. Talion and Celebrimbor bicker and argue, but instead of it feeling genuine or engaging it's just tiring, dry and annoying. The fortresses you can conquer at each zone feel copy-pasted - sure, there are cosmetic differences depending on the tribe of each overlord, but they're completely superficial - they all share the same blueprint and are conquered in the exact same way, even though it would have been easy to modify them in response to the environment of each zone. What's worse is that even once you've conquered all fortresses in the world nothing meaningful changes. There are still massive encampments of enemies everywhere, and you don't feel like you've made any impact on the region, just switched a few flags from red to blue.

I finished the game tired and underwhelmed, having gotten bored with the lack of variety some 15 hours in and just trudging through the main quests to at least finish the game properly. It could have been so much better than this!

Even though lore accuracy is like none and game is not fully "serious" and mixes up tragedy and comedy all the time, there is a method in this madness and overall package is a success I didn't really expect when starting the game. Sieges and building your army was also not as ridiculous at it seemed at first. Infamous Act 4 has now only 5 fortress defenses instead of 20 from the original release, so you don't have to grind anything and resources you gather throughout the game are more than enough to complete these 5 defenses and it doesn't take long, and total of 35 hours for the entire game with around 90% overall completion and 100% with both story expansions, which were also enjoyable and better than SoM's expansions. On technical side of things the only real issue are these dreaded pre-rendered cutscenes that not only look like a joke even with 4K cutscene pack installed (which along with HD texture pack makes the game take 151 GB (!!!) of space and cutscenes still look 720p with no AA and tons of color banding) but also obviously don't scale with aspect ratio, so they degrade the overall experience noticeably. Game is also not demanding for most of the time, to the point that I used supersampling with dynamic resolution because this is how much headroom I had even on max settings. Overall the game is unconventional but has a strong idea for itself and generally succeeds, though this is definitely not what you would expect as Middle-earth fan and I still don't understand why we don't have any full fledged game in this universum, something like LOTRO but modern. As good as SoW and especially SoM are as games, they are not even 1/20th of what a true full fledged Middle-earth adaptation should be. Expand

Great gameplay with very well made rpg mechanics combined with an action open world and I loved the siege/defense of forts but this game have 2 big problems: there are barely any secondary activities and the plot end in the most anti-climactic way possible, it's almost an insult. The DLC of the elf girl is pretty bad and the other, even if pretty good, it to short.

Shallow, repetitive gameplay, horrible story written by some of the worst 'writers' out there, lore-wise a complete bastardization of Tolkien's great work. This game is the very embodiment of a soulless husk meant only to separate people from their money.

Speaking nit from a financial point of view (with which I agree with what most of people said here), I can say I enjoyed this as much as the first part. They made improvements in the sections they needed to. Generally I do not agree on intervening on a famous author's work but the way they ended the story was great. Enjoyed it.

Buckle up boys and girls, this is going to be a long one. After the average Shadow of Mordor, a sequel called Shadow of War is released. After the average Shadow of Mordor, a sequel called Shadow of War is released. It gets a lot of negative reactions, because of the microtransactions and other s***y practices, which are condemned (rightoseouly if I might add). This leads to the removal of microtransactions back in 2018. So in 2019 I finally get around to play and finish this game. DId I have a good time? Yes, I did. But this good time was haunted by moments of pain and suffering. Let me tell you one thing: my PC isn't the strongest nor the weakest one out there. But the first time, I tried to play Shadow of War, the game would just not start. Turns out the only solution, I found on the internet, that worked was installing INTERNET EXPLORER 11. Can you imagine? This is laughable. Internet explorer should not be necessary to play a game. Internet explorer should be buried deep down in the ground and rot in a shallow grave. With the help of amazing Internet Explorer 11, I was finally able to run this game. It's great. The game is great. Nemesis system is amazing, gameplay is too. I loved the graphics and audio as well. You know what I didn't like? The story. You know why? Because no way in hell this would happen. This is not canon. And it saddens me, because half of the ideas here are actually good and could enrichen the Tolkien universe. The rest of the ideas were so garbage, they should be buried in the same grave that Internet explorer is supposed to be not running a f**** 2017 game. Other things I loved were: shaming orcs, dominating orcs, killing orcs, talking to orcs, making love to orcs, get killed by the orcs, sending death threats to orcs, cutting out orc limbs, starting a Nickelback tribute band with orcs, having breakfast with orcs, what about a second breakfast with orcs, going to Limp Bizkit show with orcs, Orcs And Recreation and other cool activities that orcs were involved in. Guess, what I didn't like. F**** bugs. At one point, I was retaking a fortress and Talion just fell down... below the textures into the void. It's still a better fate, that what the screenwriters for this game gave him. Other than bugs, there were more problems with the game. Especially running it. Sometimes the game just wouldn't start. You'll ask me: why?. My answer: I don't know. There would be a black screen. Sometimes changing the graphic settings from ultra to high would help. But later they wouldn't. Later changing to low would help. Then to very low. Then back to ultra. Later nothing would help and the game would just work magically or not. You'll tell me "oh your PC must be **** or something, update your graphic card drivers etc etc etc". Well, I'm not a f***** moron buddy and I know these things, my PC is completely healthy and vegan. All the other games work perfectly, but for some unknown reason a s***stain called Shadow of War just wouldn't. Still, I liked this game. I wouldn't consider this a waste of time, because the orcs make up for it. Ratbag is a bae. I loved the ending to this game (and I also laugh at the fact how s**** the dlcs for this game are and destroyed that ending). But I have a better idea for the ending of Shadow Of War. Talion and Ratbag become actual best friends and destroy all evil in the world including Sauron and other c*nts. At the end Talion dies, going back to his family and Ratbag changes the orc ways for the better and there's peace. Nice, right? Check this out you Monolith Productions bastards, make this a plot for the third game. Shadow Of Friendship. I'd play that. Thanks for reading this retarded review and see you next time. (Apparently around 27% complete). Mostly the missions involve beating the crap out of some orcs, some involve a bit of investigation then beating the crap out of some orcs..... It's an open world, you don't have to completely follow the story, it waits for you while you beat the crap out of some orcs you didn't have to.... And there is no end to the orcish horde, sometimes they respawn while you are finishing off the last of the first group and trying to collect the loot.... It ain't perfect but it's big, some of the missions story missions seem to lose their way, but at least it isn't a linear path to the end.... Now if you will excuse me I have a warlord to kill so I can take their stronghold as a barracks, after that, or maybe after something else I have to deal with a Balrog. Shadow of War was critised because of payments hided in the game. I had great time (better than Shadow of Mordor) playing first three acts and I strongly recommend it. It's even more impressive here, with so much enemy virety - both gameplay and aesthetic - that you will be having consistent fun and drama with it throughout your playthrough. Thanks to it, the fairly gripping story and loot collecting, time just flies. It wouldn't be long before you find your routine, and the game is appropriately long so that you won't get bored with it. The endgame is fairly decent too, basically being just a bit more of Shadow of War for those who loved it.

I don't wanna spoil, but the game is a total badass moment from beginning to end, funny moments in cutscenes, and epic battles. You gotta play it, this game needs much more love.

    100% recomendado.

The gameplay and story is amazing. I was not expecting to have such an emotional reaction to the story, but it delivered.

The gameplay restarted my love of RPGs and gaming in general. The nemesis system is revolutionary, and the ability to respec, upgrade armor and weapons to your level, and build your own army is an absolutely fantastic experience. I bought and played this game long

I bought and played this game long after the microtransaction outrage had died down. I didn't pay a penny in microtransactions.

The absolute best Best part of this game 1st episode where you lose the ring no problem just go Rambo on every single F*/&ing orc you find no tameing no upgrades no MERCY! though I did die durning this and had to fight across the whole map to get back season 1 is just an adrenaline rush of violence and people who don't like the orcs can shut up because orcs are awesome. there so dumb soThe absolute best Best part of this game 1st episode where you lose the ring no problem just go Rambo on every single F*/&ing orc you find no tameing no upgrades no MERCY! though I did die durning this and had to fight across the whole map to get back season 1 is just an adrenaline rush of violence and people who don't like the orcs can shut up because orcs are awesome. there so dumb so funny and so violent there great I couldn't wish for a better adversary. Speaking of wishing for a better adversary though I did have to skip the spider lady diolauge its a bit boring and I dislike her collectibles. and there were so many things I loved about the main game including getting my new fresh orc drip that a pried off a corpse to health regeneration runes that allow me to drain the life of orcs like a vampire to orcs releasing a balrog and it gets away but the campaign slowed down a bit and I stoped at about 60% but that doesn't matter because I loved the 3rd campaign plundering my way through Mordor with a mercenary army and I smashed it in one go in a 2h 27min joy ride and playing as the elf kind of blows her light ability sucks and you need it to get the gemstone bonuses during missions (only one set of gems btw and they kind of suck). I wish Talion was a lot more hateful and stronger maybe acting as an opposing force perhaps as we trade blows with our armies of orks. I find it Hilarious that she refuses to use the ring to magically compulse orcs like Talion and Kalabrimbor and Sauron but shes ok with brutally murdering them and her subordinate orcs have no qualms binding war trolls on their hands and knees capturing animals and forcing them to be war beasts and use slave labor to build their forts sometimes calling them "workers" even though they have brands their forehead like cattle. there's even a skill you can unlock that causes them to explode and kill their allies like an involuntary orc suicide bomber but this one gets partially carried by the orcs who are even better in her campaign they have way stronger personalities and they're a joy to fight with even though there quests are boring and scripted but all in all loads of fun don't buy it just get the fitgirl repack. Don't judge me, but I must say that cutting off orc heads is weirdly fun and satisfying.

The combat of this game is great, I love the voice acting for the orcs, The only issue is that it can be a little buggy and on occasion repetitive.

It's a good game but repetitive and it kinda got boring after 20 hours of gameplay.

A huge game that, despite of the quality of the fight and the delight of the Orb, offers paradoxically very small. It's not a failure, but we were expecting more. [Issue#279]

Nemesis is a one-hit wonder of a mechanic. Everything else in Middle-earth is mediocre at best, but Nemesis makes it all worthwhile, since every playthrough is truly unique – a feature none of its triple-A competitors can offer. [Issue#225, p.38]

A lot of people were upset to find out that Shadow of War has loot boxes, and they are kind of annoying. Unfortunately, loot boxes is the least of its problems.
