Jul 1, 2020The first game was kinda boring but this...
the commander (or w/e it's called) system is simply disappointing, often you almost kill a captain, then his "death-defying" ability turns in, then you beat him up again, fork up the stupid QTE and the captain just "runs away" (actually he just disappears right in the air)
Also, it just spits on all the ideas of original lore. -

Dec 17, 2017In first three acts gameplay is ok, not perfect, enough repetative but interesting. Act 4 totally ruins it. + lootboxes in single player game = fail. Story is a Tolkien's nightmare.
Don't buy this game. -
Oct 17, 2017Do not buy! **** micro transactions, as predicted. Apart from that decent game, but a lot of gridning... sigh. Vote with your wallet guys, so skip this one.
-
Oct 10, 2017The game itself is good but the microtransactions lootboxes ruins the whole game, not supporting or buying games like these will most certaintly help, please don't buy this crap.
-
Oct 18, 2017Apart from micro-transactions (which is plain daylight robbery) this game has dull combat and repetitive game play. The combat has a mind of its own. You click a button wanting to do one thing and it will do something else entirely. The repetitiveness, grinding and sub par combat becomes annoying that you either rush through the story for the sake of it or quit.

Dec 30, 2021Nothing but grind. The plot is made for the fans, absolutely nothing is clear. The blunt cutscenes before the fight are the maximum krinzh.

Oct 22, 2017This game started off really well like Shadow of Mordor, but Act 4 is an absolute joke. They decided they were just going to throw on about 10 hours of grinding the exact same thing over and over again and make your army way underpowered if you don't buy their loot crates.

Nov 28, 2017A new masive open world game, beautiful graphics and sounds but in short terms all comes down with insane agresive microtansactions (specially in the late game), repetitive gameplay, and a story that does not motive; as result we have a bigger but boring and abusive game.

LEVEL (Czech Republic)Feb 16, 2018A huge game that, despite of the quality of the fight and the delight of the Orb, offers paradoxically very small. It's not a failure, but we were expecting more. [Issue#279]
-
Game World Navigator MagazineDec 30, 2017Nemesis is a one-hit wonder of a mechanic. Everything else in Middle-earth is mediocre at best, but Nemesis makes it all worthwhile, since every playthrough is truly unique – a feature none of its triple-A competitors can offer. [Issue#225, p.38]

Dec 23, 2017A lot of people were upset to find out that Shadow of War has loot boxes, and they are kind of annoying. Unfortunately, loot boxes is the least of its problems.
