    Played these games back to back in 2016 and i remember that second game doesn't bring much to the table, its same game just story progresses more. (finished both games in bad ending eh).

    Excellent apocalyptic shooter, incredible setting and story. Just like the previous game, to have a good ending, you don't have to kill anyone. In this installment, it's even more stupid since at the end it turns into a hail of bullets.

    The beginning is a bit slow and the first enemies are humans, whose "intelligence" is very bad. The middle part of the game is much better und more difficult, but there are just swarms of enemies. Overall the game is a bit too long and the beginning could be shorter.
    There are not many new mechanics in game, and it focus a bit more to stealth, but there are not many stealth mechanics.     Gameplay: Much more action oriented than the 2033. Definitely the best shooter out of all 3. Much more alone missions (partner is better for plot, solo is better for everything else). The only thing wrong are the launch crushes. I'm not saying the game can't crush once loaded... just that when launching it's 50/50 (PC restart fixes 95% of the cases).     Visuals: Yeah remastered my... Looks the same. The first thing that came to my mind when i saw it for the first time was "yep, that's an old game". Probably the worst part is that they reused 2033 redux models so it looks exactly the same as the previous game (Feels like playing one very very very long campaign, not two independent games). 2,5/2,5

    It was as successful as the first game. It was fun to get out of the closed and dark subway and explore the open city areas.

    К счастью разрабы решили не делать вторую часть игры по второй книге Глуховского, ведь по словам самого автора метро 2034, она была откровенно слабой, и если бы 4А геймс решили бы сделать по ней метро ласт лайт про недороман Хантера и Саши, был бы риал калл из 10

    Из первой части перекочевали все ее достоинства, никуда не пропала ебейшая атмосфера, с еще более пиздатейшим саундтреком, к прописанным персонажам прибавилась будущая жена главного героя, чудесная Анна, которая по началу ведёт себя как сучка, но позже она растает перед грозой библиотекарей) Черный микрочел, которого мы во время моральных выборов можем подтолкнуть на помощь в конце игры, или же наоборот еще дальше оттолкнуть его и себя на прохождение на хорошую концовку. Корбан и Москвин получились очень хорошо прописанными антагонистами, но, как и все красные, ничего кроме людоедства и огня революции по всему метро они предложить не смогли. И конечно стоит упомянуть Павла... невероятно харизматичный персонаж, правда с подвохом :ROFLANEBALO:
    Из прикольного добавились несколько локальных боссов, например Шарлей, который прикатился прямиком из рыцарской арены в Туссенте в подземные тоннели под Москвой, выкопанными древними русами бтв
    Ласт лайт понравился меньше чем 2033, но объективно вторая часть лучше, посему справедливо будет поставить 9.4 мясорубок в д6 из 10    … Expand

    Graphics and animations are quite bad.
    Most of the game you're in stealth but not so many stealth mechanics were developed, just don't stay in the light feature. You can't move corpses, the NPCs AI is not well implemented to patrol, search, ... NPCs can see you from 1 km away, no killing animations.     The monsters are bullet sponges at the point that you doubt if you really can kill them. Even worse because some are really immortal and you never know.
    No information at all about the weapons. No stats, or something to compare weapons and know wich one is better. You need to realize about the mods by sight in a small draw were you can barely differentiate a silencer from an extended cannon.
    No weapon names being shown, so you don't really know what you're picking up, and some weapons are too similar to realize it.
    Completely broken morale system. Having different endings based not in your decisions but in random events like listening NPCs conversations when the game doesn't teach you about this system is just stupid.
    The only good point is the immersion. Small details like the lighter, compass, watch and gas mask implementation makes you feel like you're there and need to use real gadgets to do your job.    … Expand

Ok, they have improved the graphics and some mechanics, but I can't say that it is too good from the first game. The script is caterpillar, so it's really bad for this level. This game is simpler.     I remember playing this game on my Xbox 360 and not enjoying it. After the masterpiece that was Metro Exodus and my addiction to buying games on steam - all of which I'll probably never finish in my lifetime, I decided to give Last Light another shot and I can easily say - No regrets. Maybe it's just the state of the world at the moment but the game really hit different the second time around.

    Что-то по сюжету всё скатилось в какой-то абсолют и то, в следующей части концовка тут даже в хуй не ставится, так что зачем это надо было? А в плане геймплея та же Metro 2033 Redux.

    Сиквел не стал выдумывать что-то из-ряда вон выходящего, он лишь улучшил то, что уже имелось и работало. Шикарная игра и история.    Metro: Last Light — пример образцового сиквела, что во многом получился даже лучше оригинала. Следующая станция в этой поездке оказалась во истину ошеломляющей.

    Terrible gameplay. Full of bugs. I got stuck halfway through ("Nightfall" episode) on normal mode. Had to quit. Game got frozen (several times). I also had no air filters by that point. And I couldn't backtrack because the game checkpoints you at will. And this is the "Redux" edition? I won't ever buy another game by 4A Games.

    As with Metro: 2033 Redux, the gameplay, graphics and level design are stunning. Best played as a continuation of the original game, as the only thing that really changed was the story, and boy, am i impressed. After leaving such high standards, i wasn't expecting the sequel to be equally as shocking and great. The introduction of quite a bizarre friend adds a lot to the game.

    It's one of my favorite games. It is one of the classic fps games. I recommend it if you like apocalyptic games. I think the first game was better. This game is definitely not bad.

    i played in ranger mode and it's wasn't that great because of the ath missing in qte scene, so basically i was spamming "E" every cutscene. Also, it was impossible for me to choose my throwable.
    But this apart, after some hours in the game i was totally immersed into it,    At first i was a bit disappointed with the gameplay, it was really the same as the first game in term of linearity.

    Sure, the graphics are nice (same as the first game), claustrophobic atmosphere and narrow mazes (like the first game), but the difficulty balance is thrown out the window. Imagine this: a maze, where you don't know where to go, where the exit is, and try to sneak past 50 fully armored units with shotgun. Good luck fam. And the game is filled with these situations.

    If you loved Metro 2033, this is basically the same game with a different story and different elements. For those reasons, I also really enjoyed this game, but I do feel it is a less memorable experience than 2033. It was annoying having to re-live Artyom becoming good and realizing the Dark Ones weren't evil because I've already experienced that.

    With less memorable additions to the game (certain characters, monsters, and story) and a story that you won't remember as well as 2033, this game is really only for the Metro fans that loved the original and want more of it. This game will provide that, but leave you mostly appreciating 2033 more by the end of it.

    The sequel to Metro: 2033 does well to live up to its name. The second installment of this franchise was almost better throughout every aspect, except for the plot, that felt more immersive when playing the first game.

    It can be frustrating sometimes, but the game is really fun. Storytelling is good, graphics is really good, soundtrack is good. The guns are really unique and you should try all of them out. This game is really good especially if you're bored asf.

    Redux version does not differ significantly from original Metro Last Light. The changes are minor, but it is a little better optimized.

    I am reviewing Last Light Redux (like 2033 Redux) as a new game to me, not a remake, cause I did not have opportunity to play in original version. Most of the statements connecting with previous game of the series would be accurate: it is a very good shooter with satisfing guns and nasty enemies (which are similar/same). Like before, generally audio is very good (despite protagonist in english version - the one reading during loadings). Silent protagonist starts to be a little anoying.
    It is a piece of a great, atmospheric shooter. Maybe really similar and without new mechanics, but better, longer and prettier (OMG, how weird word "pretty" sounds, when it is regarding to the Metro, ofc I mean only graphics develop). Strongly recommended.    … Expand

This is an extremely linear game, and on balance I would only recommend it if you are okay with that linearity, don't mind cop-out gameplay mechanics along the lines of "mash 'e' to deal with threat", and find the dystopian Russian setting exciting, as its story, gameplay, and overall quality weren't at all satisfying for me. Personally, I had more fun writing this review.

    I found the dialogue uninteresting and the level, sound, and monster design bland and repetitive. Player movement is clunky. Enemies, both human and monster, lack variation in behaviour, with human enemies largely standing still and shooting non-stop, or just advancing towards you with no regard for getting hurt. The most common monster will leap or run towards you and then jump up and down in place, often missing you completely as it swings its arms in a way that looks a bit ridiculous.

    Several segments involve accompanying/following NPCs and you are forced to match their slow pace of movement and listen to their uninspiring dialogue. Some levels are 'on rails', where the player is driven by NPCs while enemies appear for you to dispatch. This is ok in theory but there are entire levels where you don't actually have to fire your weapon, and the enemies pose no threat despite shooting at you constantly. There are many occasions where normal gameplay is interrupted by scripted threats and you are tasked with mashing a key to resolve the situation, or sometimes just watching as the scene unfolds without your input. These mechanics are found in many games, but that doesn't make this one any better for resorting to them.

    The voice acting and animation are just ok. Music is forgettable and often feels out of place. Graphics are good for their time but not amazing, and very clearly dated nowadays. Visual bugs are quite common, ranging from minor texture flicker to the player's gas mask clearly still being on during a cutscene where characters around are talking about you not wearing one. The overall atmosphere is not at all tense, as enemy placement is extremely predictable. For me it felt like a straight FPS with a dystopian setting rather than the survival horror game it is slated to be. I got it on sale for £3.77 ($5) and still didn't find it worth the price.    … Expand

    It is pretty successful at pulling off what it intends, but I am not the target audience for an on-rails stealth shooter, so this review might not be that helpful.     The game is very similiar to Metro: 2033 (Redux), which was also nice. In Last Light, the atmosphere felt a bit creepier / horror style. Graphic is still today nice to watch.

    Very good game. Kinda like half life. Kept me on the edge of my seat so many times that i bought metro exodus right away. Loses points because there is no 1440p support and i've encountered some bugs

    A superior game that the first one with a decent story and characters and better gameplay. It's my favorite game of the saga and even when the IA it's dumb like every game of this gen it's a must play.

    You can easily lose yourself there playing Metro, and you might as well lose your friends and relatives for that period of time... And thats okay it is the experience we've been waiting for since 2033 and the sequel is definitely worth it.

    AUDIO E GRAFICA:
    Tutto esattamente come in Metro 2033 Redux.
    Comparto visivo buono ma con personaggi che sembrano un po' di plastica. Ottima illuminazione, anche se nelle fasi più buie l'ambiente risulta sempre ben visibile, al punto di chiederci come facciano i nemici a non accorgersi della nostra presenza.
    Dal punto di vista sonoro invece il gioco è davvero ottimo, colonna sonora perfetta, ottimi dialoghi e ottimi suoni ambientali (compresa una stereofonia ben fatta che aiuta nelle fasi più tese). Alla fine la cosa peggiore è il doppiaggio (italiano) del protagonista, nettamente inferiore agli altri personaggi e con una voce per niente adatta alle sue caratteristiche.
    Molti consigliano di provare Metro doppiato in russo, sinceramente non ho provato perchè non mi piacciono i sottotitoli mentre gioco.

    GAMEPLAY:
    Anche qui risulta molto simile a Metro 2033 Redux.
    Il gioco è un FPS horror, survival e stealth, lo shooting è lo stesso, gli oggetti che si usano sono gli stessi o quasi.
    Una delle principali differenze è l'aumento di armi presenti nel gioco e un maggior numero sia di fasi stealth che di esplorazione per ottenere oggetti utili.

    STORIA:
    Il gioco dura più o meno quanto il predecessore, ovvero circa 10 ore se si è meticolosi nell'esplorazione e nella ricerca di tutti i segreti (cosa che però non sono riuscito a completare).
    A differenza di Metro 2033, qua ci sono molte più fasi in cui ci si trova da soli ed è estremamente più introspettivo anche dal punto di vista emotivo (senza fare spoiler).

    Per concludere, Metro Last Light Redux va giocato obbligatoriamente dopo Metro 2033, se no non si godrebbe appieno dell'esperienza. Non va considerato come un titolo a parte ma come la prosecuzione, e visto che sono entrambi giochi abbastanza brevi la cosa non deve spaventare più di tanto.

Но, с другой стороны, играть приходится во всю ту же игру, наблюдать всё ту же механику: перестрелки – мирные этапы – перестрелки – мирные этапы… Правда из этого следует ещё одно «но»: хоть практически ничего нового игра в плане геймплея не преподносит – играть всёНе знаю, насколько по-разному ощущались оригиналы Метро 2033 и Ласт лайт, но редукс версия даёт ощущение единого произведения. Но, с другой стороны, играть приходится во всю ту же игру, наблюдать всё ту же механику: перестрелки – мирные этапы – перестрелки – мирные этапы… Правда из этого следует ещё одно «но»: хоть практически ничего нового игра в плане геймплея не преподносит – играть всё равно довольно интересно! (Да, всё-таки не умолчать о парочке новых врагов и стволов, продвижении сюжета вплоть до его завершения, а ещё можно на своеобразной машине покататься… Но маловато всего такого, новизны я в принципе не ощущал). Также, хочется отметить ещё пару моментов:
    1. Может, абсолютно так же было в первой части на стелс этапах, но я этого не замечал. В ласт лайт же стелса гораздо больше, поэтому эта вещь бросается в глаза: представьте, в одной из частей помещения происходит адская перестрелка, люди орут, оружие шумит. Закончив это побоище, вы проходите через тоненькую дверь, за которой бывает даже стоит кто-нибудь… И ничего, вот тебе другой этап, никто ничего не слышал – ну, это глупость полнейшая, выглядит иногда смехотворно.
    2. Мелкие баги. Да, всё те же баги, как и в редуксе прошлой части: тела иногда весело скачут, текстуры лезут целоваться, отчего в них застреваешь (но хоть ни разу не застревал в них надолго) и прочие мелочи.
    3. Ненавязчивая вариативность. На примерах: спасти или не спасти медведицу от растерзания другими мутантами; пройти или не пройти уровень по стелсу (это относится к одному из уровней на поверхности, где, казалось бы, по стелсу не пройти); и так далее. Пусть я и узнал об этой неявной вариативности уже после прохождения, осознавать её наличие приятно.
    Про идейное содержание: в идейном плане здесь опять же ничего нового, темы для разговора всё те же, что и в прошлой части: как мы докатились до жизни такой; критика фашистов и коммунистов (в этот раз вторые выглядят совсем уж лютым зверьём); и контакт «с другими». И опять «но»! Всё это продолжает вызывать интерес.
    …
    Редуксы подарили нам возможность воспринимать обе части метро, как такое единое непрерывное произведение – с этой точки зрения можно сказать: да, сюжет движется и можно закрыть глаза на то, что в игровом плане это практически полное повторение редукса первой части.
    С другой стороны, если воспринимать игру именно как вторую часть серии – она значительно слабее, (опять же, я сравниваю редуксы) нет уже удивления, того же погружения в атмосферу, той же новизны…
    Но как не смотри – играть интересно, за сюжетом следить интересно. Но некий крепкий стрежень, кой был в первой части, мне кажется утерянным.
    Кому понравилось Метро 2033 – поиграть стоит.    … Expand

The game is overall more polished, and the story makes more sense with a few better written characters introduced, and even a short romance subplot. There are less turret and rail sections this time around, which is also a plus.

    On the other hand, the game is still very linear and much of it is spent in different kinds tunnels. There are also invisible walls everywhere that make it impossible to jump over very small walls. Gunplay isn't great, and monsters don't react satisfyingly when shot. Watcher, the most common monster in the game, is very fast and can jump at you from quite far away, so it's practically impossible to avoid taking damage when attacked by more than three at the same time.

    Metro: Last Light isn't a bad game, it can be quite enjoyable, but there are times when it still gets frustrating. One could look at it as a more polished version of Metro 2033 with a new story.    … Expand

    Enjoyed it as much as the previous games but its very forgettable experience and youll remember only the atmosphere, gunplay and scares but forget the whole storyline and thats a bit sad.

There wasn't really any feeling of suspense or challenge. For the most part, I was holding down W (forward) and casually shooting enemies without worrying too much about losing.

    I don't have much to say about this game, since it just felt like a random epilogue that followed after 2033 and didn't really offer anything new. The game has a strong focus on interpersonal conflicts with the other factions introduced in 2033, and although there's a slight push towards using stealth, it wasn't anywhere as effective as simply lighting everyone up (of course, this could be due to me playing on normal difficulty).

    Either way, I didn't feel as absorbed by the atmosphere as I did with 2033. It was still a decent game, sure, but it was not a very memorable experience. Some plot points seemed interesting whereas others just felt like side stories that were shoved into the main story. The gunplay picks up a bit in the latter half of the game, but the story also becomes more confusing and random after that point.

    A fair warning to make is that Last Light has a secret good ending, which is the canon one that links with the sequel Exodus, but is incredibly difficult to acquire. I suggest watching a video with the good ending once you have beaten the game, because it's really not worth the effort.

    On a side note, the Redux edition comes with a bunch of DLC bundled in, but no indication as to where to access them. To find the DLCs, beat the game first, and then go to Chapters and access New Missions from there. I'm really not sure why the game didn't dedicate a separate section for this, since it is incredibly easy to miss.

    CHRONICLES PACK
    ANNA - For Anna's mission, it's incredibly short, not difficult at all, and really doesn't offer a whole lot of content. You can get it done in under 20 minutes. The end is abrupt and gets randomly cut off. I wouldn't suggest playing it unless you want to do some minor fights, since the story isn't meaningful. Using the sniper in a proper environment is kind of cool, though. I give it a 6/10.

    KHAN - Khan's mission was absolutely meaningless. It provides a glimpse into his backstory, but even then, spending 30-40 minutes to walk in a straight line until he finally opens up and talks about it is such a terrible waste of time. You can do something better with your time. 4/10.

    PAVEL - Wow, Pavel's mission was just amazing. You have to escape from imprisonment and the game doesn't hold you hand or give you anything to work with. You actually have to hide in the shadows and keep your wits about to escape, knowing how to assassinate your captors in silence. This was definitely the best of the three missions to play through, as it was realistic and not easy. I'm happy to give it a 8/10. Definitely play it.

    DEVELOPER PACK - SPIDER LAIR
    This map was... interesting, at best. The lack of a story made it kind of pointless to go through, and if you've already played through the main game, there isn't much the spiders can do to surprise you. It's a well-rounded map that focuses on the use of the flamethrower, but there isn't really any significant challenge. As for whether I'd recommend it, I'd say it depends on whether you want more content or not. It's a bit lengthy. 7/10

    FACTION PACK
    SNIPER TEAM - This was a great mission. It starts off a bit rough since you have to adjust to the stealthy sniper gameplay that isn't typical in the main game, but once you do, it's quite an enjoyable experience. It felt similar to Pavel's mission, except not as suspenseful. There was one area in the map that has a weird screeching noise that bothered me a lot, but I'm not going to factor that into the rating. I give it an 8/10, because it was a nice way to spend an hour or so.

    KSHATRIYA - Amazing. Just amazing. This single mission makes up for all of the DLCs combined. Reusing the Librarian map from the first game and turning it into a scavenger hunt was a brilliant idea. If you're looking for story, you won't get any in this mission, but the experience itself is well worth going through. I ended up failing to find some items, but it seemed only the last three mattered for completion so it wasn't a big deal. An easy 9/10, with the one point taken off only because there was no story or conclusion in the mission.

    (Note: I did not bother playing Heavy Squad from the Faction Pack or The Tower, since I received advice that they are not worth playing. Thus, I did not review those.)    … Expand

    If you're in for an atmospheric shooter with good survival mechanics, look no further. The game looks great and the pacing is just on point. However, the story did not click with me. Very predictable. I have to note that I did not read the book prior to playing this game. The bad voice-acting and terrible cut scenes really break the immersion. I expected more.

Also the crappy moral system, literally didnt kill anyone unless in forced combat situations, sparred Pavel and lesnitsky, gave to beggar and kid yet I got the bad ending. One of the most terrible system to exist in games

    If someone owns Metro: Last Light, there's absolutely no reason to buy the Redux version. Graphically its the very same game, while the DLC content and the Survival/Spartan mode are not enough to justify this new release and the 20 euros price, even with the differentiation the later offers to the gameplay. On the other hand, whoever hasn't played the original game yet, has another good reason to do it now.
