    Finished the game on one session library mission was horrible gave me nightmares back in 2016. Really enjoyable game a must play in my book.

    An immersive game with an immersive storytelling. Love it. I recommend everyone who wanna play a story shooter with an immersive storytelling to give this game a real chance.
    This game and it's sequels are often on sale and really a steal for 9€ at the moment. And this is REALLY worth it.

    4А геймс смогли прекрасно воссоздать мир Дмитрия. Атмосфера пробирает до мурашек, только человек поживший в постсоветской стране найдет в игре что, то до боли знакомое. Также немаловажную роль в атмосфере играет саундтрек игры. В метро присутствует шедевральный саунд(причем во всех трех частях) но играет он    Метро 2033 - взяла за основу книгу Дмитрия Глуховского с одноимённым названием

    Персонажи очень хорошо прописаны, всех помню поименно, каждый чем-то запомнился будь то Ульман со своими шуточками, или Бурбон со своей легендарной фразой про желтый снег :)
    ИИ в игре откровенно тупенький, челики не видят тебя вплотную, не слышат какие-то твои шумные действия буквально у них под носом. Проблем в этом плане не было только с библиотекарями))) уж эти гандончики очень внимательные) но это простительно, ведь сюжет просто невероятный, вся эта история с черными, как Артем решает судьбу всех оставшихся людей в метро просто 10 на 10. Жаль только разрабы не смогли передать то состояние Артема после удара ракетам по ботаническому саду, то полное моральное опустошение как в конце книги. Но вряд ли это получилось бы передать, ведь в игре Артем не проронил ни слова...

    I have played the original version of Metro 2033 on xbox 360 back in the days.
    This is a good remaster, gameplay is basically the same, graphic is pretty good.
    The plot is ok but the various missions are a little bit tedious and repetitive, go from point A to point B killing monsters and press a button or open a door.
    The game is pretty short, it took 9h to finish the game in normal difficulty.

    A great game with a fun gameplay and well adapted to the original material. Any person who has read the books i think will have a great experience playing this game. Graphics are outdated but that is not as important as a good story and gameplay i believe.

Я не читал ни одной книги МЕТРО, но надеюсь когда-нибудь доберусь до них, что бы понять целостность сюжета. Очень понравилось то, что есть в игре карма и от неё зависит то, какую концовку ты получишь. Очень приятно играть, все смотреть и слушать потому что в этой игре есть душа, в неё её вложили. Разработчики знали "Почему" они делают эту игру, что вылилось в "Что" они из этого получили. Спасибо им за это огромное. Проходя игру сейчас не могу не радоваться уничтоженной рассеи, потому они этого заслуживают как никогда. Быть стертыми с лица земли за все то зло что они делают в отношении моей страны. Но единственное что не понравилось, так это то, что в игре есть каноничная концовка, но зачем тогда вторая не понятно, когда понимаешь это в след части теряешь чувство удовольствия в принятых решениях.… Expand

    I've never seen a game so buggy. almost every mission has a npc that you have to follow and each time he gets stuck somewhere and you have to reload the game until there is one who constantly does not want to move and cannot move forward.

    this is a very top game, an interesting plot, good gameplay, the possibility of elections and much more.the graphics in the game are not bad enough for 2014, if you listen to different conversations and try to kill the least, and then you can achieve a good ending, or if you do the opposite, there will be a bad ending. have a good gameplay!

    Great looking levels and very atmospheric but the enemies are repetitive and annoying and the difficulty is uneven. I got sucked into this game at first and really enjoyed the first third immensely but after that it gets tedious and unforgiving as the enemies suddenly become extremely tough to tackle after the half way mark and you're basically forced into stealth gameplay which I reallyGreat looking levels and very atmospheric but the enemies are repetitive and annoying and the difficulty is uneven. I got sucked into this game at first and really enjoyed the first third immensely but after that it gets tedious and unforgiving as the enemies suddenly become extremely tough to tackle after the half way mark and you're basically forced into stealth gameplay which I really did not enjoy (it felt more like a chore at that point). Glad I only paid $8 for it as I'm not sure I have the patience or desire to keep playing until the end.… Expand

    One of the most atmospheric, immersive and thrilling shooters of gaming history. While Last Light is rather action-oriented than filled with horror elements, 2033 definitely is. It's more slow-passed and sometimes feels very claustrophobic, especially in dark, narrow corridors that are filled with mushrooms, skeletons, waste, radioactive material and rats, normal-sized, mutated or bestial.One of the most atmospheric, immersive and thrilling shooters of gaming history. It's more slow-passed and sometimes feels very claustrophobic, especially in dark, narrow corridors that are filled with mushrooms, skeletons, waste, radioactive material and rats, normal-sized, mutated or bestial. The (at that time) small Ukrainian stud 4A managed to sell a very grim and disgusting Russian version of the apocalypse. It's like Fallout, but less humorous/sarcastic, with better gunplay, however less freedom (being a linear-shooter), yet more immersion and very realistic feel to weapons, with very tough, unforgiving gameplay (especially on higher difficulty).
    Definitely a must for anyone who enjoys story-driven, linear shooter that focus on atmosphere and combat than exploration and dialogues.    … Expand

    Although it vas very bright, so the flashlight lost its usage.

In general, I personally advise you to go through redux. In this version, stealth is much more enjoyable than in the 2010 version, where you are sometimes seen through the walls. By the way, in this version I had the opportunity to go through an alternative ending, unlike the original, although the style of the game was identical.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I had originally bought the trilogy on Steam a couple years ago. I played Metro 2033 for an hour, and then put it down. I remember going into it thinking it was Call of Duty, only to be arriving in front of a bunch of monsters and having no bullets. I quit the game and didn't touch it until about a month ago.

    I went into this game now knowing that it was a survival horror game and it blew my socks off. I honestly wasn't expecting to enjoy the game this much. The story kept me engaged and never lost me, all of the characters are great (and in the same way as Game of Thrones - any character you know can just die whenever the story wants them to).

    This game looks incredible. I'm not a graphics guy, but I was incredibly impressed at how this game looks. I never played the original Metro 2033, but from what I've seen, the Redux made a lot of needed changes graphics-wise.

    Gameplay wise, it gives a good mix of everything you can get from an FPS, while still giving the player a choice in how they want to take it. I had a blast going from sneaking around enemy bases, fighting off against hordes of monsters, and mentally battling monsters (the library was a standout moment for me both horror and gameplay wise). There were even a few moments in the game where I had to actually worry about my bullet count and if I was going to have to just run away (having the option to shoot your own currency is also a great addition).

    Although the game has its rough patches (I wasn't a huge fan of Chapter 7 until the actual ending of the game), this game is great and I'm excited to see what the following two games have in store.

The atmosphere is something that has attracted many gamers and it is the one thing that this game does perfectly.

    Gunplay/Stealth

    -Plays well on PC. No issues but nothing out of the ordinary. Standard.

    -AI is standard and the Nosalis are bland for me.

    -Stealth is the best way to play this game but it is a bit clunky.

    Exploration

    -Linear style but you can approach stealthily or guns blazing. Again very standard.

    -I read lots about the game's atmospheric quality. But honestly it didn't resonate with me that much. If the post-apocalyptic vibe is your thing then for sure you will appreciate the game's atmosphere. Graphically and in terms of the visual tone I found it very bland looking. The game's colour palette is very dark and grim and honestly kind of ugly. Obviously, I understand the look they were going for as it is set in a post-apocalyptic world but even then the environments lack flavour.

    Narrative

    -I don't think the story is bad per se, nor do I think it is told poorly. It is just very average in terms of story telling. I understand that it has been inspired by the books and borrows some elements from it however it doesn't tell the story in a special way or anything. I think the cast is hit or miss.

    -Artyom's character has no development and no depth. He is a mute really and you can learn more about him by picking up notes in the game world. There is little to no emotional connection built with him. No reason to care for and about him.

    -The supernatural elements just didn't fit this game. I felt it was very out of place. I found it really sill to be honest. Even the character model/designs were really silly and they remind me of those gooey alien baby toys.

    Conclusion

    Overall, I think this game is highly rated by those who are fans of the post-apocalyptic genre. Even though I do not think this is a bad game by any means I do not think it is worthy of the lofty praises. It is a slow paced FPS shooter set in a particular environment.    … Expand

The action itself was fun, don’t get me wrong. I enjoyed the firefights; upgrading various weapons; and managing air on the surface. My favourite level was the Ghosts level as it had the closest ambience to the novel. I didn’t enjoy the level with the Fourth Reich mainly because the level design felt too maze like. I also wasn’t a huge fan of the Library level because of the way the Librarian AI was designed. You are supposed to stop and stare them in the eye for them to not attack you and sometimes this worked but other times it didn’t work at all. When it worked it was a good tense level but that wasn’t the case often enough. The graphics were well done overall. The clothing; cobwebs; and animals were great. The object detail; fire; and facial detail was decent but the hair was pretty poor. The game also had great detail on your gas mask such as bugs crawling around it or it getting a bit foggy with sweat. I wish the game had a listing of your current objective. It gives you a compass telling you where to go but no listing of what to do once there. Sometimes this is obvious but other times it would have been helpful. I did like how the game allows you to customize what kind of experience you want by choosing not only your difficulty level but also giving you the option of the Spartan style of play which means less resource management.

    I tried to play on Linux but the Linux version was broken beyond use for me. The game was missing various options in the menu such as tessellation; as well as it ran at 30 FPS or below regardless of graphical detail selected. I tried on two separate systems and had the same result. I ended up playing the game using Valve’s Proton. This is how I know that the options menu lacked several options. Even on the Windows version there some issues such as V-Sync limiting your FPS to 60 instead of recognizing higher refresh rate monitors. Alt-tab worked on Windows but not on the Linux version. You can pause cut scenes but not skip them. You also have to wait during the intro videos to be able to skip them, you can’t do so right away even if you have already been playing the game a while. You can’t change the game difficulty after starting the game. The game saves at checkpoints and there is only one save slot. The performance on the Windows version was great. There were a couple glitches I encountered such as enemies clipping in doors as well as one occasion where I had defeated all the enemies in a room but my AI comrades wouldn’t advance any further making me unable to progress. I had to reload the checkpoint; clear the room again and then they moved normally. On the Windows version the game had 5 SSAA settings; 2 AF settings; a V-Sync toggle and 3 other graphics options.

    There was a good game here that I enjoyed but there were several ways it could have improved. The Linux version needs a lot of work for one. There is no excuse why Linux users lack the same options as Windows and even on the Windows version things like V-Sync capping your frame rate to 60 FPS is unacceptable. I read the novel right before playing the game and I have to say that while I prefer the novel’s atmosphere and story more the game is fine in it’s own right. I finished my play through on the normal difficulty of Spartan mode in 6 hours and 52 minutes. I would say the current price of $21.99 CAD is fair but that’s about the top end I would pay for it.

    There are some bugs, yeah, as usual with the majority of PC games, no matter how many patches were released...

A historia foi quase nula pra mim, visto que um personagem calado é entediante, não houve nenhum personagem que chamasse a atenção e a lore do jogo só é mesmo desenvolvida pelos documentos que você tende achar ao redor do game - e estão em inglês.Pra um jogo de 2010, ele é ótimo.     For me the only good thing was the graphic.
    A linear tunnel, with skippable enemies, awful AI, shooting mechanics disappointing and anonymous settings.

    I played this game before on my old system with medium graphic settings. I really liked the story and you really had to retry some situations and try to play them smarter and not waste any ammo. The atmosphere was great in underground cities. The people building their homes out of stuff they could find really made the game feel a lot more personal. However with my new system (Ryzen 9 5900xI played this game before on my old system with medium graphic settings. I will try to fix it in the near future, but the fact that a lot of people having trouble even getting the game to run, made me give a rating of "mixed". Really would love to play this game again.     Metro 2033 is a masterpiece. Cool plot and gameplay. One of the main aspects of this game is diving.
    And in general we get a cool shooter whose world is filled with mutants, radiation and the remnants of civilization.

    Although we can't say that Metro: 2033 Redux is a real remake, it is a great game with better character models, graphics, and cutscenes. The based game is the first game of arguably the best first-person shooter series Metro with a decent story becomes even better with the unique atmosphere. Even if you normally don't really appreciate FPS games you should definitely try it.

    В этой игре просто шикарная атмосфера. Будто ты сам выживаешь в метро и чувствуешь все на своей шкуре! Стрельба в игре сделана хорошо и просто огромное количество модификаций на оружие. Разные страшные мутанты созданные радиацией и не только. Графика просто шикарна, в игре 2 концовки хорошую можно получить если помогать людям и убивать только в крайней необходимости.
