    MGRR is a game that feels like its becoming a legendary like experience, more than a meme, its an absolute must play. The game really feels amazing to play as Raiden, making you feel like an samurai ninja cyborg with the ability to cut so much in the game. The bosses are some of the best of all time with legendary music and sequences, finishers and more.     The visuals and music are great.
    Sadly the gameplay is clunky and underwhelming due to relying on quick time events and the awkward Blade Mode feature too much. Enemies will often hit you with a stun which requires you to rotate the analog stick to recover which is a recurring annoyance. And then there's the real villain of the game: The camera. It    The story and cutscenes are great.

It constantly looks away from the action and focuses on the wrong thing while actively preventing the player from adjusting it. There is also no Lock-On feature which makes combat even more awkward as the player cannot easily single out specific enemies and must rely on other methods instead. Compared to the Devil May Cry series with similar gameplay this game falls short which is a shame since it nails everything but the gameplay.    … Expand

    Screw it, this is my favorite video game. I don’t care what anyone says. I may not be the BEST gamer, but damn it’s good. I’ll do my little nitpicks here: the Jetstream Sam DLC feels a bit rushed to me, the stealth could use a bit of work as well (or they could just remove it), and the D-pad menu could be a bit better. My solution to these issues is use the d-pad for certain menu sections,Screw it, this is my favorite video game. I don’t care what anyone says. I may not be the BEST gamer, but damn it’s good. My solution to these issues is use the d-pad for certain menu sections, (up D-pad you use for a support items section, right for Alt weapons, and left for main weapons. You use a joystick to navigate it, and press a button to select it and another to use it.) Stealth is mostly optional, so it’s a bit restricted because of that. The Jetstream Sam DLC is a bit rushed, but you get it for free for the pc port and it’s still good fun. The camera might not be the best, but I don’t think it’s a huge issue, just a smaller one. While I think that wall running would be a fun move; as it was used in demos for the game, what’s there is pretty good. The overall movement feels fine, combat is fun, and it contains my favorite parrying in games, despite it being a bit weird at first. This game might not have the best graphics, but they are still pretty good, which I kinda don’t care about. However, the OST… The OST can be described by one word: phenomenal. Especially the vocal tracks. The only level I thought was the weakest was well… the tutorial. That is because you are forced to play it the same way it was, you don’t get all of the mechanics there, and it’s weakest in terms of the design— it’s a pretty good way to introduce somebody to this game, but replaying it might be a bit limiting. Despite this, all the bosses are top notch. They are some of my favorite bosses in video games. The final one is a really good final boss, as it tests your skills you’ve acquired throughout the game. Plus, it is replayable as well! Which is a plus. The game has a story full of memes, which is a good thing, however: this does have messages about politics. If you use the actual definition of “memes”, then it’s a huge eye opener. This game is fast paced too, as you are mostly in a lot of combat and running. You can skip the slower bits of the game, mostly. This game is overall good fun. I’m a newbie to Metal Gear games, as this is my first one; however it does make me want to play the other ones too. Considering the fact that this is a spin-off too makes it even more impressive.… Expand

    i love this game and this review may be a bit biased due to that, the game is very flawed, the camera is usually your worst enemy and some mechanics are a bit frustrating in the worst way possible, this game trying to take it's story seriously is usually just comical and makes the game extremely memable, i think that the difficulties are fairly lacking, i wish REVENGEANCE difficulty wouldi love this game and this review may be a bit biased due to that, the game is very flawed, the camera is usually your worst enemy and some mechanics are a bit frustrating in the worst way possible, this game trying to take it's story seriously is usually just comical and makes the game extremely memable, i think that the difficulties are fairly lacking, i wish REVENGEANCE difficulty would be extremely difficult but it just makes the npc extremely strong but doesn't change bosses otherwise, overlooking that the voice acting is over exaggerated in the best way possible and every character has so much soul, it unintentionally makes the enemies 10 times more likeable than the main character, the PC version is the best way to play this game due to the 360 and ps3 not handling the game the best and also some new features in the PC version. the soundtrack is 10/10 and gives the game much more character, the gameplay is a bit frustrating but most of the bosses have very good gameplay, after about 100 hours of gameplay mastering the swordplay is extremely satisfying and i feel like this game has a lot replay value. although very flawed, i cannot stop loving this game… Expand

    Thanks to this game now I know I am a psychopath. Also weird how the boss in chapter 3 was the best fight in the game and nothing since then was able to peak it, but it seems that is just me.

    Songs, gameplay, graphics, mechanics, boss battle's, level design, ALL in this game is perfect.

    Fantastic gameplay which actively keeps you engaged, not only that, but it has some of the best bosses EVER! And the writing is just great, it works well as a serious story about what the nature of a person is, and even better as an unintentional comedy which will make you laugh endlessly, great game.

    A game so unapologetically over the top it makes me grin from ear to ear. I did have a rough time at the start learning the parry mechanic, but after that it was non-stop fun

    Overall pretty fun experience. Gameplay is creative with the zandatsu mechanic but stealth is pretty bad in the game and needed some improvement. Story is pretty good. Boss fights fun and challenging. I would give this game a solid 7.7/10 but since you cant do that on metacritic im giving it a 8

    Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is better than some Solid games. One of the greatest hack and slashers ever made with addicting gameplay and one of the coolest ideas for a final boss. Definitely doesn't have a sequel because they cant come up with a better sequel

Publicado en el 2013 y hasta ahora Metal Gear Rising Revengeance a aumentado más su popularidad los controles son una maravilla, la historia es rara pero increíble, los ideales de los enemigos que son los vientos de la destrucción son fascinantes, extraordinarios y extremistas en especial la de Armstrong, el manejo de las armas es perfecto, la coordinación en los momentos de pelear con los jefes con las canciones es perfecta y al bajarles sus vidas al 50% la música empeza a sonar con la letra y eso es inovador incluso ahora. In game, dialogue is downright insane because of how over the top it is, and makes meeting new bosses exciting just because of the insane exchanges. There's like, 10-15 minutes of basically straight cutscenes right before the final boss, and yet I didn't feel like it drag on a second simply due to how bonkers it all was. This game has it's fair share of flaws but the good is SO good that it ends up being amazing regardless.… Expand

    Memes, the DNA of the soul!

    Jokes aside this is EXACTLY how to do a spin-off game for a series. The combat is addicting, the main recurring character, Raiden, gets some good character development, the game is INCREDIBLY replayable and on top of that it has one of the best soundtracks you'll find in gaming.

    This is just a 10/10 i can't find any flaws to it.

    Ein mittlerweile älteres Spiel, dessen Grafik sich aber durchaus heute noch sehen lassen kann.

    Ich finde diese Grafik generell ziemlich cool, heutzutage gibt es natürlich schön desingte Games, aber davon ist oft auch viel Copy+Paste und so sieht oftmals alles gleich aus. Am wichtigsten ist aber natürlich das Gameplay, welches so weit ich weiß, einzigartig ist, sehr gut umgesetzt und    Ein mittlerweile älteres Spiel, dessen Grafik sich aber durchaus heute noch sehen lassen kann.

    Ich finde diese Grafik generell ziemlich cool, heutzutage gibt es natürlich schön desingte Games, aber davon ist oft auch viel Copy+Paste und so sieht oftmals alles gleich aus.

    Am wichtigsten ist aber natürlich das Gameplay, welches so weit ich weiß, einzigartig ist, sehr gut umgesetzt und macht einfach Spaß, zumal man mehrere Spielstile anwenden kann.

    Klare Empfehlung, die derzeitige Edition hat auch 2 DLC´s, die nach Storyabschluss unter Geschichte zu finden sind. Sind zwar mit einer Stunde pro DLC etwas kurz, aber man darf nochmal einen anderen Spielstil ausprobieren, daher auch empfehlenswert.    … Expand

    There is so many reasons to love this game. The gameplay is so fun, you can play stealthy and sneak on the back of the enemies, or you can slash everybody in your way. The cutscenes are excellent, there is so many cool moments and quotes. The music is a banger, basically the game is so cool and fun! You can replay it and replay it and replay it... There is so much stuff that I can'tThere is so many reasons to love this game. The gameplay is so fun, you can play stealthy and sneak on the back of the enemies, or you can slash everybody in your way. The cutscenes are excellent, there is so many cool moments and quotes. There is so much stuff that I can't explain in this review but please just give it a try.

    Of course there is downsides in every game. The camera movement can sometimes be funky, the higher difficulties (very hard and revengeance) is tooooo hard and if you didn't understand the parry mechanic, you can't enjoy the game that much. But the parry mechanic isn't that hard, you just have to practice 2-3 minutes but some people are rating the game 2-3 starts, just because they didn't understand the parry mechanic.

    But I'm going to rate 10 for this game, you will get used to funky camera movement and parrying, you don't have to play higher difficulties, there is no such a big problem. I think this game is a masterpiece and mustplay!    … Expand

I did everything HITLESS going through the game, but the second boss is just a road block of janky mechanics.     Metal Gear Rising is truly an experience. The gameplay is top notch and it's very rewarding being flashy. The soundtrack is amazing and it fits all the boss fights to an amazing degree. The characters are so over the top they become amazing. If you like hack and slash games you're doing yourself a disservice by not playing it.

    This is some of the most fun I have ever had playing a game before. The combat is so fluid and satisfying. The quick time events are actually good which was surprising. Some of the best bosses I've ever fought and all of them are super memorable characters. A crazy story that is super cheesy but still works. Awesome game. One of the best soundtracks in video game history as well.

    It’s definitely different from the other metal gear games, but that doesn’t make bad. It’s a very fun hack and slash. Reminds me of DMC or something similar, the story is interesting and it’s also and added plus with all the memes coming recently. It’s great. Definitely try it.

He de decir que hacia tiempo que no me entusiasmaba tanto unos frenéticos combates y luchas empuñando una espada. Cuenta con una jugabilidad y mecánicas que emocionan al utilizarlas y motivan al jugador para hacer combos y multitud de diferentes movimientos a la hora de desenvainar la espada. El personaje de Raiden es lo que mas destaca junto a un par de enemigos principales. La verdad que se diferencia mucho de lo que tengo visto de la saga Metal Gear. Y creo que llego a entender porque es tan querido por la comunidad. Sin embargo creo que tiene aspectos que se podrían haber pulido mas para dar mas énfasis a la historia que te quieren contar. De todos modos la jugabilidad y el combate frenético acompañado de una fondo musical que se puede considerar perfecto.     Hard to grasp parry mechanic, but that's just on me, not the fault of the game.
    The game is overall really good, the combat's got some got combos and stuff, and I just like it.
    The amount of cocaine the writers took was insane, the dialogue is funny as hell.

    Yeah, yeah, let's give a game 10 out of 10 because funny Jetstream Sam memes and music is a bit good. This game is terrible, I don't know about consoles, but PC port is beyond garbage, I don't care about your "Kojima is genius" **** since this game is a slasher and in this genre gameplay must be a top priority, and here, well... Raiden, even thought he is a cyborg and has super speed, feels like a snail with all this endlag. Cutting humans is a bit fun since all you have to do is heavy into blade mode, chop their... I don't know what that is... and get that dopamine from slaying an army in a couple of seconds, but when it comes to something more serious, it seems they just decided to slap giant robots with hyperarmour and tons of HP on a battle system that is clearly designed for a quick slash against weak opponents. Bosses, where do I start, they all want to be flashy but all you have from them is frustration, you want to know why, because... CAMERA. Camera in this game is awful, it's a slasher for god’s sake, and it has one of the worst camera positioning I have ever seen in my entire life, it always tries to auto aim onto opponent, it has a FREAKING DELAY for some reason ON A PC VERSION, sensitivity is always going from extremely high to "I literally moved my mouse from one side of table to another, and camera didn't move at all", this game thinks it's smarter than the player who plays it, and worst of all, you can't turn it off. You will have to get used to this awful camera, and worst part, some bosses are unbeatable because of that, example MoonSoon, he has an attack when he goes into smoke and attack from different angles, sometimes he attack face to face, so you can easily parry him and escape being comboed for half of your life, and sometimes, he just goes from a back, and no, your reaction won't help you, as I mentioned before you can flick your mouse as hard as you can, camera won't move at all, and why is it essential, because parries in this game, related to camera, so yeah good luck with that, this is also a reason why fights against crowds are complete hell, because your camera even if you don't want it, always sets some sort of enemy target and when clashing a lot of enemies you will often experience camera going earthquake mode since it always changes its target as a result you will have your camera shaking, going from place to place, and it will also give you problems with movement and parries, good luck, because this is the only thing you can rely on in a fight against same MoonSoon, just hope all his attacks when he goes into smoke state will be face to face. Then we have parry itself, who the @%#* thought it would be a good idea to make a gameplay essential mechanic require two buttons to be pressed at exact timing, most of the time it doesn't work, because for it to work you have to press "W" + M1 which is also a Light Attack forwards, yup, you probably guessed it, most of the time, instead of parrying you will just attack air, and get punished, because well-made game.

    Now to the story and characters, can someone please explain to me why "Kojima is a genius", story is boring, "Make America great again", and "Memes"... Half of the characters are just cliché types from some Anime weeaboo **** we have a "Girl with tough past who became killer because world is cruel", we got some philosophy dude who no-one gives a **** about because he comes in to say his monolog and dies after boss battle, and of course he sounds smart just because everyone except him are complete idiots with 12-years old personalities. Jetstream Sam, is he that good? He is ok, typical "cool" guy who everyone will like because he is "bad guy" but actually, a "good guy" and he is like has this deep "ideals crisis" so a bunch of edgy teens will relate to him. But does he deserve all the attention he got, no. And how could we forget about Senator MakeAmericaGreatAgain Armstrong, who... could've been an interesting villain but was turned into some freak with ideals and goals of 12-years old who just discovered politics and tries to act cool and mature by saying some cliché villain phases so that our hero can sound rational and smart compared to him.

    So summing it all up we have, a Slasher with terrible battle system that could've been good, but was used incorrectly, awful camera IN A SLASHER that has a core mechanic that RELIES ON CAMERA, we got boring story and characters. Why is this game became so popular, because 12-years olds who make memes with "Bloodshed" and other mediocre boss themes from this... "game"...

    Should you give it a try after all the hype it got all of a sudden in 2022? 50/50 since It is terrible on PC for sure, but maybe with controller or on console it will give you better experience, main problem for me was camera, maybe with controller it will be less noticeable and somewhat playable, but if all you have is mouse and keyboard, don't, just don't.    … Expand

У них разные атаки и особенности.У одного это надоедливые роботы которые мешают тебе    Начнем с геймплея(проходил на среднем)

Благо разработчики расставили чекпоинты в правильных местах. Почти убил очень сложного босса и тебе осталось QTE чтобы его добить? Держи чекпоинт перед QTE. Но так не на каждом боссе. Где то нужно потратить больше или меньше времени. Бой со всеми боссами очень приятно ощущается и некоторые из них можно сравнить с прекрасным парным танцем. Что по поводу оружия? Его здесь не так много(пара самурайских мечей и 3 дополнительных). В основе лежит простая механика боя завязанная на слабых и сильных атаках а также выставлении блока на вражеские атаки. Есть множество комбинаций и игрок может изучать новые. Есть специальный режим когда ты можешь порезать врага на огромное количество мелких кусочков. Так же есть возможность прокачивать и изменять снаряжение. Это все оплачивается за отдельные поинты которые ты получаешь в битвах. И я считаю что этого достаточно для этой игры. Это не слишком напрягает и ты просто качаешь то что видишь особо не думая.
    Единственно в чем проседает эта игра так это в гейм дизайне уровней. Все уровни коридорные и особо ничем не заполнены. И не дают должной свободы передвижения из-за чего очень плохо работает стелс.
    Графика не берет звезд с небес. Может для ПС3 И коробки 360 она и норм. Но в наше время выглядит немного плоско. Но на нее ты будешь обращать меньше всего внимания во время битв. Единственное но так это то что в катсценах разрешение маленькое.(720p мб)
    Если коротко то графика удовлетворила меня.
    Теперь про аудио составляющую.
    Музыка она подобрана просто изумительно. У каждого босса своя песня которая очень хорошо подстраивается под происходящее в бою.Не уровень The Shaadow of Colossus, но она так же держит тебя в тонусе и морально помогает тебе в сражении.
    Озвучка тоже шикарна.Каждый персонаж озвучен отлично и имеет харизму. Особенно смешит когда американский персонаж специально говорит на великом русском с акцентом. В такие моменты у меня появлялась неподдельная улыбка.

    Сюжет.
    Начну с того что каждый персонаж очень хорошо запоминается и врезается в память. Сюжет написан хорошо и дает пищу для размышлений во время игры. Но это не делает его менее интересным. Ты пропитываешься симпатией к врагам и понимаешь их мотивацию. Это по настоящему взрослый сюжет на 10 часов.    … Expand

    I remember playing Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance when I was younger but I wasn't good at it and I couldn't play it properly.
    Few years later, after hearing about all the ridiculous memes on the internet, I was interested in giving it another try, however, I felt like the game lived off from its memes and not because it's actually a good game.
    After playing it though, I can definitely say    I remember playing Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance when I was younger but I wasn't good at it and I couldn't play it properly.

    After playing it though, I can definitely say that Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a really enjoyable Hack 'n' Slash game! The camera is awkward at times but the combat system is very fun and it has some cool mechanics.
    The highlight of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance isn't the gameplay though, it's the bosses; they're just epic!
    Also, the music is awesome and the visuals hold up well, even though the environments look uninteresting for the most part.
    Unfortunately, the narrative is not on par with the rest of the game in my opinion. Thankfully, the characters are likable and the dialogue is funny at times, but the story is quite bad overall and very short; it could've been longer.

    + Interesting mechanics
    + Amazing bosses
    + Fantastic music
    + Charming characters

    Cons:
    - Camera issues
    - Bland environments
    - Weak & short story

    A great game that doesn't attempt to use filler,great fighting system a more or less engaging story, great fights and one of the best soundtracks in memory.
