Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is a great way to check out Mega Man’s later outings, but the presentation just seems a bit lackluster between the challenges not being as interesting as the original game or the puzzling omission of Rockman & Forte/Mega Man & Bass. The museum and music box modes are still good and it’s nice to still practice against the various robot masters. What we did get is still pretty good, but not quite as good as the original Legacy Collection.

In the end, Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 contains only a small handful of games, none of which are obscure. Three of those entries are genuinely excellent, but beyond a strong challenge mode and the Extra Armor option, the features in this package are lacking. Maybe one day there will be a truly complete collection, with all the bells and whistles and even Mega Man Soccer. That day is not today.

What is present in this collection ends up feeling like a disjointed ride through the latter half of Mega Man's history, an area with plenty of lessons to learn, but not always ones you're meant to enjoy. Seen as half of a whole, with the first Mega Man Legacy Collection, however, and you do have something resembling a fascinating compendium of games, albeit with a lot more to skip out on in its second half.

Better than Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 for many reasons:

    - didn't launch with input lag issues
    - no CTDs
    - all games run smooth, unlike the untouched NES ports found in MMLC1 - if they had removed the slowdown, those games would've been phenomenal
    - includes Mega Man 9, the best Mega Man game ever made (it's Capcom's "Stairway to Heaven")

Mega Man 7 and 8 are very good games, they catch some flak because 1 they aren't 8-bit, and in the case of Mega Man 8, they present as pretty childish compared to the rest of them. I wouldn't call 8 "childish" as in "made for kids" though, it's childish in the sense that it looks like a 90s cartoon, or like a Disney game from the 90s. It's still definitely made for people with proper motor function and reflexes. I enjoyed it. The VA was pretty bad, but at the time it was a trend to get VA into anything wherever possible. At least it doesn't detract from the game.

Would be a 10/10 if the mouse pointer wasn't visible. Also it would be nice to have game manual scans worked into the menus and a boss order and collectible guide (for Mega Man 7) as well, just because. MMLC1 physical had a boss order guide in the packaging, 2 doesn't, but it would have been nice to have it worked into the game somehow to save some Google time.
