    Great single-player game with only a few annoying issues. Dialogue during fights gets repeated way too often. Dialogue while not fighting gets skipped often by you accidentally triggering the next line, I guess they wanted you to just stand around and listen if you cared about what was being said.     Best game of 2021 for those who love 'old-school' adventure/narrative type of games like me.
    The characters are very well written: light, positive, fun, like the story that has a lot of twists.
    Fans of the 80s will feel nostalgic playing as a young Peter (fan of Hair Metal, on earth in the 80s. Besides that this game is full of hits from the 80s. Big respect for Eidos Montreal for using    Best game of 2021 for those who love 'old-school' adventure/narrative type of games like me.

    Just an amazing single player adventure. We don't get those too often.
    Surprisedly, it satisfies the Mass Effect itch.
    Oh, and of course, hands down, it has the best soundtrack (talking not only about licenced tracks).

    Overall a good experience. Some bugs and issues that forced me to reload saves to be able to continue. The game mechanics are not the best for keyboard and mouse but still ok.

    This game had a really strong start, and I found myself enjoying maximizing the effectiveness of every combat ability.

    Towards the end, it seems like they were really trying to close it up, and I felt like the ending sequences weren't as grandiose as some of the stuff earlier in the game.     Great adventure! Got so much joy from this game. The gameplay seems too basic and simple sometimes, but all the mechanics are perfectly bonded with story and atmosphere. At some point you just let go all the criticism and start having a pure fun.
    The people who made this game are obviously in love with Guardians lore. Thank you for this journey!

    While the movement can be slightly clunky and there are a couple of bugs, they are minuscule compared to the story, characters, and world this game creates. All the characters fell alive and it feels lime you really are the leader of a team rather than a playable character with a bunch of lifeless NPCs occasionally talking.

    TL:DR Insane visuals, stellar story, rocking soundtrack. To start the with, this is the best looking game I’ve ever seen. Like a Pixar movie but more realistic. Just stunning detail in every location and fantastic art direction. They really topped the movie in this regard. The voice acting is superb and I actually prefer the game’s actors to some of the movie actors. Most of theTL:DR Insane visuals, stellar story, rocking soundtrack. To start the with, this is the best looking game I’ve ever seen. Like a Pixar movie but more realistic. Just stunning detail in every location and fantastic art direction. They really topped the movie in this regard. The voice acting is superb and I actually prefer the game’s actors to some of the movie actors. Most of the performances provide so much depth to the characters and give you the ‘feels’ or make you laugh when intended. The pacing of the story and variety of the gameplay is top notch. They strike the perfect balance between gameplay and story moments. One moment, you’re competing with Rocket to see who can blast the most space worms and the next you’re flying the Milano in a daring escape sequence. All of this is accompanied by hilarious banter from your team. You get to make meaningful decisions throughout the game giving it great replay value. It is cool to feel like you have some agency in the way the story progresses and these story sequences feel very Mass Effect in their execution. I can’t think of much higher praise for a game’s narrative than that. The combat is enjoyable and challenging if you have the difficulty on we can do this or above. They do have an easy setting which you have to appreciate in a game that has a focus on it’s story. This would be perfect for inexperienced gamers or someone who is just there for the story. All of the the soundtracks are phenomenal. There is an orchestral OST, a mix of 70s and 80s rock, synth wave, and disco, and they even formed a band called Star Lord with an entire album full of Iron Maiden-esque tracks just for this game. You get to select what you want to listen to while on the Milano which really makes your time there more enjoyable.
    I feel like this game got slept on, which is a shame. It is well worth the asking price and should be on your radar, especially if you have a high powered PC. It is well worth full price even if you only use it for benchmarking or showing off your new setup to friends and family. It will certainly justify that shiny new graphics card that you paid a small fortune for. My wife and I played through on PC and I will admit, you do need a monster system to turn on all the graphical bells and whistles. I can’t speak to the graphics quality on consoles so your mileage may vary there. We encountered very few bugs aside from some mild texture weirdness here and there. Nothing game breaking and zero crashes. We played primarily on my wife’s laptop. It has a 5900HX and an RTX 3070 which I believe is the higher power version. At 1440P, it stayed above 60 FPS most of the time. The lowest I saw was 45 and average was about 75. No weird hitching or stutters. We had the newest drivers installed. If you like the comics, or the movies, this is a must buy. If you are a Mass Effect fan, this is a must buy. This is not some cheap license cash in or micro transaction laden game as a service. It is a game that was obviously lovingly crafted and a stellar single player experience.    … Expand

    This is one of the best single player experiences I've ever had the pleasure of playing. The characters are fleshed out. The story is awesome. The environments are truly alienlike. The gameplay is really like you're starlord, the teamleader. Everything you want from guardians of the galaxy is here.

    Love this game! Great variety of environments and opponents - you can truly feel like you're on some strange, hostile planets. Love the amount of humor and dialogs in general - you can learn so much about the lore from them. The spaceship as a hub is also great idea (+ I love the llama).
    It's really the best game you can play after you get bored from all those 100h+ Ubisoft games. Whole    Love this game!     Original review: This game is an easy 8 to me as I love 80s music. Oddly enough I dislike the dev and publisher due to the awful avengers game and i hate Disney because... I can read but this game despite my scepticism...is good! Buy with confidence if you like cinematic games.

    But to be good you must accept that it's not some action adventure as much as a telltale story game or like that quantum break tv game hybrid or like become human etc. It's an interactive movie and when you accept that fact...the often linear limited janky gameplay becomes acceptable.

    The voice acting is superb as is the lip synching. The new guardian look and lore is absolutely fine and you'll quickly love them and want a sequel or dlc.

    The story is excellent for a video game though as a film it could be better. But i was always engaged.

    The music is amazing. Beyond technical issues if you have a 5.1 or 7.1 set up the licenced rock and pop tunes sound fantastic and really sell the game and brand.

    The actual sound is far less impressive and a low point. This connects to the lack of polish.

    The graphics are good on pc but nothing mind blowing for 2021 and could have looked and ran alot better. The hdr is washed out but an update gives us ray tracing. The framerate is around 60fps at 1080 though there is still a lack of overall polish if you go to places not 100% on rails.

    Gotg is very much an onrail game but there are a few minor choices and seemingly endless alterntive scripts. There is a surprising amount of variety in such a rigid structure.

    And no microtransactions! And finding the outfits is rewarding and rhey look great.

    Well done devs! I hope you make another one as this game is awesome. So much better than that avengers rubbish (which I also play). To buy today :)    … Expand

    Lots of settings for difficulty as I never seen in any other game. I felt like tha game was modded. You can adjust the cooldown of team abilities, dmg output, respawn and a lot more.
    Great story, funny characters, not that bad but at the same time not a usual combat. Highly recommend it. 10/10.

The combat is eh at first but after getting the grav boot upgrade and ice pistols as well as getting used to their perks of your crew makes the combat a blast. Flying around and juking enemies gives me a rush, along with the retro 80s music it makes me feel hyped! 10/10Holy hell this game blew my expectations out of the water. This is a game from Eidos-Montréal, creators of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and this game is in fact a pure single player    A great, fun single player game.

    Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is a game that some people surely will miss this year, probably thinking it’s just another bad or poor Marvel game adaption riddled with MTX or skins to buy, but that is not the case here in GOTG.

    This is a game from Eidos-Montréal, creators of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and this game is in fact a pure single player experience, with none of the micro-transaction crap and nonsense. It uses, in fact, the same Dawn Engine we saw in Mankind Divided or, at least, It is based on it.
    The PC port has been done in collaboration with d3t, which recently also did the Alan Wake Remaster, and I think they have done a decent job, considering this is not a very common engine to see out there.

    There are different costumes in the game, but you have to explore and find them, by playing the game of course. Yeah, you know, single player games? They exist, and many are in fact, good games, like GOTG here.

    Let’s now talk PC port and some tech numbers and specs: on my Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX 3060 Ti this game performs quite well, way over 60 FPS even at 1620 DSR resolution. My native resolution is 1080p but, at that resolution, the game is quite CPU bound and, if you want to get over 100 FPS, you’re going to need a very fast CPU.
    For most people with CPUs similar to mine, increasing the resolution and, if supported, enabling Raytraced Reflections, will be a much better option to keep that GPU working as it should.
    In my case, 1620p DSR Downsampling, Ultra Settings and with RT set to Ultra (including Transparent Raytraced Reflections), the frame-rates are usually above 70, sometimes even 80-90’ish, depending on the area.

    The game does make good use of DLSS 2.3 to provide excellent temporal stabilization to the image and, even if you prefer gaming at lower resolutions, I suggest enabling DLSS at Quality mode at least, because it sure does look better than Temporal Anti-Aliasing in this game. Of course, at higher resolutions, DLSS is an invaluable tool to keep 60 FPS or more, and a nice looking image, without compromising much on Graphics Settings.

    Due to being quite CPU limited unless we play at high resolutions and with Raytracing, lowering graphics settings quite often does not provide enough scaling to gain big performance chunks on the FPS, so it’s best to choose the highest possible resolution and Settings that provide us with at least 60 FPS.

    Moving on, to the actual game, and its story: I think it’s great, it has quite a few surprises and twists, and the characters are so fun in this game, I mean...they’re the Gardeners of the Galaxy! Wait…yeah, they are : )

    If you only know the Guardians from the MCU movies…you’ll find something familiar in this game, but if you also know them from the comics and other media, yeah, there’s a lot here to enjoy as well. I think the actors did such a good job, so congratulations to all of them, I had a lot of fun with their banter and dialogue choices and all the craziness (I played in English).

    Gameplay is pretty straightforward, it feels a bit familiar if you’ve played Mass Effect games, in a way, but not quite, and to me the combat itself is the weakest aspect of the game, it’s not bad but also not the best I’ve seen in an action / adventure game; it can be fun, but I often felt it could’ve been a bit more.

    The visual design in this game is top notch, the different worlds and locations we visit feel pretty unique and indeed something I’d expect to see in anything related to the Guardians, and I often had to stop and activate the handy Photo Mode and take lots of pictures, sometimes even in combat.

    The soundtrack in this game is great, of course it’s full with some of the greatest hits of the 80’s and therefore, it’s copyrighted, but the game has a “Streamer Mode” that disables all those tracks and instead uses the, also amazing, regular game soundtrack.

    But of course, when you play the game with the full soundtrack it feels truly epic, like it couldn’t be otherwise.

    I really liked this game, and it left me wanting more, there’s potential for more, for sure. It’s not really a short game, just an average length, I probably played around 25-30 hours, but I spent a lot of time in Photo Mode and testing / doing benchmarks too, but if you take your time and look for all the collectibles and stuff, yeah, expect around 15-20 hours for sure.

    I hope we get more single player games like this, and more people give this game a chance, I think it deserves it.    … Expand

    Good story game, amazing soundtrack and cool characters! But the battles were not expressive, could be better. And I get some bugs, but I think they will be fixed. Without a doubt we need such games!

    Developers have probably spent all their budget on recording that many witty dialogues, but the battle system is still fine. There also were some pretty nice narrative moments I haven't seen in any other games. Overall it's a good buy and I'm looking forward for the sequel.

    I've heard a lot of people liked the dialogue, but there were people that liked Death stranding dialogue..Both games were cringe and safe..Play the og San Andreas or Dragon age , those games had good dialogue.     The writing and wit and graphics are good. Gameplay good. But I can't get passed how they are able to be in space without a space suite and how there is no gravity in space with this game.

However while there are a few bugs this game is a serious contender for GOTY. The story is outstanding and has had me hyper focused, just wanting to play more and more.     Вкратце по игре:
    Игра чисто сюжетная и линейная. Никакого дроча аванпостов и гринда. Несёшmся вперед и кайфуешь.
    Периодически основа сменяется общением на корабле или боями в космосе.
    Есть простые боссы.
    Это не шутер и в основном используешь лок на цели.
    Управляешь только Старлордом, с возможностью отдавать приказы напарникам. У него и у напарников по 4 скилла.
    Есть 4 стихии под разные ситуации или врагов.
    Старлорд стрелок, но есть и ближний бой. Рекомендую его активно использовать.
    Есть добивания, как у гг так и у напарников.
    Есть ульта. Во время неё надо воодушевить команду, потом включается музыка и тебя баффает.
    Можно летать и доджить на реактивных сапогах.
    Есть минимальная прокачка. Открываешь скиллы команды и апаешь статы Старлорда.
    Есть простейшее исследование. Ищешь ресы для прокачки и костюмы.

    Плюсы:
    + Нет опенворлд дроча.
    + Нет гринда шмоток и прочего. Тока чутка ресурсов и костюмов.
    + Шикарная музыка.
    + Прекрасная картинка.
    + Оптимизация. (Люди жалуются, но на моем ведре с 1060 шло нормально на ультрах.)
    + Хорошая озвучка.
    + Рокнрольная стилистика.
    + Лицевые анимации отличные.
    + Анимации в целом тоже очень хороши.
    + Местами хороший юмор.
    + Хороший сюжет.
    + Отличные персонажи и их развитие по сюжету.
    + Крутые катсцены.
    + Красивые женщины. (Внезапно! О_о)
    + Нет мерзотной повесточки. (2к21 ты ли это...)
    + Нет микротранзакций. (Даже сизонпасса. О_О)
    + Зрелищная боёвка с акробатикой и комбами напарников.
    + Крутой фоторедактор.
    Минусы:
    - Игра забагована сильно. Скрипты глючат, вылеты, текстуры глючат. Всё лечится рестартом с чекпоинта. Мне лично мешали только вылеты. Чекпоинтов много и рестарт меня не парил.
    Спорные моменты:
    * Затянутое вступление. Мне было нормально, но в целом могу согласиться с людьми, которые мне об этом говорили.
    * Мне не хватало сложности. На харде играть не сложно.
    * Боёвка простовата. НО! Это компенсируется диалогами героев, зрелищностью происходящего, акробатикой и музыкой.    … Expand

    Saves for users with cyrillic names don't work. 2 weeks after release and still no patch. Doesn't Square Enix don't have any QA-engineer r to find this minor issue and any programmer to fix it? Really?

    Great plot, amazing characters, various beautiful locations. Minus one - gameplay for an amateur. But in the present dominance of looter shooters, grind and online, this game is like a breath of fresh air and therefore it is simply impossible to scold it.

    Wow! This is the best game i've played in a past couple of year. It's honestly better then movies. Everybody who loves good singleplayer games with awesome characters and story shold buy it right now! GOTY for sure!

    Marvel's Guardians of The Galaxy was under my radar for the whole time. I wasn't very interested in it and knowing it was from the same company that made the disappointing game Marvel's Avengers, I didn't have much hope.     Marvel's Guardians of The Galaxy was under my radar for the whole time. I wasn't very interested in it and knowing it was from the same company that made the disappointing game Marvel's Avengers, I didn't have much hope. But to my surprise I found myself invested in the story, the world and especially the characters. Along with some solid gameplay and a kickass soundtrack. My previous worries quickly faded. This game offers a surprising amount of heart and some humor that was actually pretty funny. I loved the different conversations I'd listen to from all of the characters. There are 3 things that I didn't like. First off, I did experience a couple of bugs on the PS5 version and I would have to load a previous save and or checkpoint. Another complaint was that you couldn't control the other heroes and it was kind of a missed opportunity. And sometimes the camera would be placed in very bad places during conversations with characters. Other than those issues this game exceeded my expectations and is one of the best games of the year and I highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of The Guardians of The Galaxy and is a fan of the other marvel games such as Spiderman.     A very well written storyline up to par with the quality of the Marvel franchise. At first it’s a little hard to get on board with the voice acting but when it’s explained as a different multi verse version of the guardian’s, then it becomes easier to get into and the subtle character differences become fun.

    An awesome game! It's like interactive marvel movie. Jokes are funny, story is interesting, there is no microtransactions, soundtrack is great, visual part is more than great - this game is must to be played. I think it will be the game of the year 2021!

    This game is a masterpiece. Gameplay 5/10 but story 10/10 , characters talk 10/10 If we put Nathan Drake in Uncharted 4 here he would be a pissed off boy .

    1. Have a lot of bugs: sometimes enemy doesn't appear and you can't finish a fight and Peter being teleported out from next area
    2. Another bug is when you choose answer in a conversation - Peter might just not answer and it forces you to restart a game
    3. FPS drops. Not depends on any settings - RTX off or low settings it doesn't matter certain scenes and effects cause this anyway (very rare occasion)
    4. Strange gamepad control - takes too much time to use team skills with those double clicks
    5. No direct control over other characters, might be boring to play as one character for whole game
    6. As of pt.4 of Pros, music is good but why it so quiet? Forced to adjust sound settings to clearly hear music in fights and in Milano
    7. In a few fights game might crush, I guess could be patched someday

    So I'm giving this game 8/10 score because of a few bugs that I faced and they forcing to restart a game everitime.

    Edit: further you go more bugs... Nope, unntil this patched no more than a 5/10 because sometimes you can't even go anywhere    … Expand

I’m running on an RTX 2070 with a Ryzen 9 3900X and it runs at a solid 60fps with graphics maxed out for me. The writing and voice acting are top notch, both in the genuinely funny comedic segments and theThe best game I’ve played in years.     I haven't been this happy with a game in years. It's clearly inspired by the Mass Effect series and yet adds to it in design quality. The ship and missions feel lively at all times, as there is constant conversation and banter going on. When it was over, I missed this found family immediately. Even as a GotG fan, this is by far my favorite Marvel content ever made, including the movies,I haven't been this happy with a game in years.     For all who want to know what i think went wrong are just minor bugs and 2 crashes. The enemies are sometimes a bit spongy but thats very subjective for what kind of games you like. Its definitely no mass hack n slay in god of war manner.

    What I could wish is at first being able to switch the characters you play to have some more fun with different skills. It would be great if there will be an new chapter of story enabled to play (i would definitely pay for this)    … Expand

    Highly recommend this, let's you wanting for sequel. Story is nicely written and voice acting fits with characters very well. Many times emotional and comedic. Gameplay is innovative, commanding each guardian to use different skills focused on stun or damage and stacking them to get damage multiplier, but I rather played with controller (personal choice).     This game is way better than everyone had expected including me. It had an amazing long well-written story. Multiple dialogues the characters had without repeating to each other. Also has a story that is fun and adventurous with lots of exploring to do for multiple suits for each character and currency you can find in hidden places for combat upgrades. The game artists team deserves more praise for the amazing 3D art and worlds they had created.

    The combat is really great and tactical. It has a way different feel than the Crystal Dynamics Avengers which is the most compared game to. You control Peter Quill which is the leader of the Guardians and command your Guardians to do what you want in combat or in situations when you need. The combat is smooth and plays well from my experience on the PS5 performance mode. There were a vast amount of amazing soundtrack that the game had. It had a vibe that felt similar to the Guardians of The Galaxy MCU films. It shows the connection whereas Peter Quill is in love with his music. Overall, this game is a surprise due to the hate it had received before the game came out. It was way better than I had expected and it is an experience that need to be seen in person rather than on videos. It's definetly one of the best marvel games next to insomniac Spider-Man games. Eidos Montreal seemed to worked hard and did a really great job with this game and hopefully they can continue with more in the future.    … Expand

    Really great game, honestly thought it wouldn't be this good. The humor feels straight out of the James Gunn movies. The visual art direction is amazing. Seriously you will see some impressive skyboxes and environments during the game. I have noticed my fair share of bugs but if you are a fan of the Guardians you will like this game.

    The combat is incredibly fun but unfortunately there isnt much of it during early chapters and while there is a very good enemy variety and a few bosses, i personally would have loved it if the enemies were a bit more challenging and more unique aoe attacks were coming your way, especially since the iframe dodge system is very well implemented and your blaster allows you to stay out of harms way most of the time. Nevertheless it is very enjoyable and unique.

    The game runs amazingly well on my machine which is around the MINIMUM specs (using a mix of low/mid/high settings - low shadows, high textures with 6gb vram).

    There is a lot of exploration going on but unfortunately the "puzzles" all require the same solutions so once youve used every companion once to solve a certain issue you will use that companion a bunch more times to do that same thing. Its more work to keep your hands busy while you listen to the aforementioned incredibly well implemented dialogue.

    The game is somewhat short but as mentioned it is incredibly packed with dialogue. I took around 17 hours to complete and there definitely is a good amount of replay value, lots of dialogue choices have 3! different outcomes (silence leads to very different things being said) and a handful of major choices (akin to what youd expect from a telltale game). It would be nice to have more combat for consecutive playthroughs though. There is 0 fluff! If you dislike how open world games tend to waste your time this is for you. There is stuff happening constantly. 17 hours of non stop chatter with multiple dialogue options must have taken a crazy amount of time to record.

    Overall its an exception narrative focused single player experience with fun gameplay, great optimization and almost no bugs that keeps drawing you in for every minute you spend in it.    … Expand

    Очень даже не плохая игра, респект скверам что в этот раз вместо дро4ильны мы получили сюжетную игру и обидно за то что как минимум на пк у нее дела обстоять так себе, народ жалуется на дро4ильны и онлайн а покупать сингл игру с не плохим сюжетом не спешат, а потом жалуются а почему сингл игры особо не хотят делать..

    Of the minuses, only bugs. Sometimes you had to reload the checkpoint due to the fact that your partner was stuck and he was not sent, in battle he was not, it was not possible to use his abilities.

    And so an excellent game, awesome music, a worthy plot.

    The story is engaging and the characters are well written and interesting. The set pieces are some of the best video game eye candy i have ever seen. Honestly this game is so gorgeous.     Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy on PC performs very well. It is the best version on a purely aesthetic level. The work done by Eidos to recreate the galaxy, the planets and its protagonists is incredible.
