    This game is bad and this is not anymore the mafia game. Please give franchise back to original developers they know what they are doing and they know what is mafia game.

    Very poor graphics, blurry at best. The game feels a Beta release due to the glitches. Does not draw inspiration from Mafia 2, and is a huge step backwards.

    +1 for music and storytelling.

    My review stands on par with the rest of the bad reviews posted here. Have been let down very badly by 2k games and their piece of **** Mafia 3. Mafia 2 was way better and had left me in lot of hopes on this one which they have let down.
    I recommend every gamer to not buy or download this stupid game and play and waste time.

    El mayor insulto que le podrían haber hecho a mafia. Este juego es una mierda por donde se lo mire. Gráficamente es una basura, parece incluso pintado con acuarelas. En rendimiento es una basura y está lleno de bugs, (ademas de los detalles cuidados deliciosos de los anteriores mafias ya no existe).

    There are too many glitches. I'm disappointed. Developers made completely new style of 60th. I loved Mafia 1, it was al capone's time. Unfortunately, Mafia 3 and Mafia 1 are absolutely different games.

    Story of the game is really great, I enjoy it very much so far, main characters are OK.

    However PC version is just a COMPLETE JOKE, why? - Most of the textures does not exceed 512x512 (WTF did 2K think?) - Resolution is upscaled from 720p to 1080p, clap clap... - Various graphical issues (Lightning etc.) - Ultra repetetive gameplay - In around 8 hours of gameplay, at least 70% of    Story of the game is really great, I enjoy it very much so far, main characters are OK.

    However PC version is just a COMPLETE JOKE, why?

    The Graphic is not consistent Aaaghhhh **** game.The Gameplay is not good too. And God...... The Skybox Seriously.Even Indie Games have good skyboxes.The Missions are repetitive. The only good thing that i have experienced is driving its better than Mafia 2 which was a marvelous game.I played half way through Mafia 3 and have uninstalled.

    Useless game. Full of bugs and glitches, crashes every 20-30 minutes. The only good thing is the storyline, very good storyline. For that reason i give it a rating of 3.

    Don't even bother buying it. The game takes many hours of your life to finish it, while the plot could be few hours long, but the repeatable gameplay makes it last much longer. If this wasn't enough, this game has a ton of technical issues and has cut out the best mechanics of it's predecessors.

    This is game about a complexed racial afro shooting and burning and running over innocent white females and men. Its a game made with hate in mind. Shame it has a real good soundtrack, but i wont let my kids play it. It has NOTHING to do with a "Mafia" game, just the name.

    This game is like an old bad playstation2 game !
    It's a shame, the first and second mafia was great, 2K killed the licence !!!

    I had waited this game for 6 years. This is totally dishonor to previous Mafia series... And no clear explanation on Vito & Joe. 2K deceived Mafia fans with this horrible game. Shame on you 2K Games. You ruined it this time.

I'm truly starting to get tired of these **** console ports (in this case it's a disaster as well) that require an insane rig whereas the performances are pitiable. The quality is just absent. 1440p looks like a goddamn 720p upscale. The scenario is breathtaking this said, although when theI'm so disappointed in this game. It could have been great but Hangar 13 totally screwed the player. I just hate to think that Mafia III got destroyed by the lack of time (I can't think of anything else explaining this).     Freezes, bugs and crashes. It is totally impossible to play. Graphics from 2010 and such bugs and FPS dpops.
    Horrible console port.
    Not worth a penny.

Todo lo demás, el juego en sí, sientes que lo has hecho en otros juegos ya sea Red Dead o GTA pero peor y una y otra y otra vez. Ese es su problema: malo y repetitivo hasta la náusea.     I didn't spent $2500 in a f****** PC to play games that looks like old gen consoles.

    It's too bad because execpt the visual aspect and graphic gliches, the late 60's atmosphere is cool. Anyway, I will not buy games without reviews from no on, it looks like an alpha version but i paid for a finished game... :(

    There is nothing new that has not been done in
    other similar games. Another point I would like
    to make - "cutscenes" hoish! I loved the cutscenes
    of the first game and yeah some of them in the
    second game, but here they jump out at you

    I gave it a 1 for the excellent music track. Pretty much everything else about the game is bad. Some of the older Mafia titles are quite good and I have enjoyed those in the past. This trash was made for consoles and that usually destroys what might have been a good game as it did here.

    The big pro is the music, superbly fitting in with the period. The negatives are simply that this is very much low bugdet when it comes to low textures and an abysmal frame rate. Refund applied for.

    The game is fun but visuals are locked at 30 frames and the graphics are all blurry and grainy. Once again a PC game is limited by the consoles. Game play and story is solid tho but i wont give it more than a 4 until they fix the fps lock and hopefully give it a graphics update to make it not look like ****

Физика авто маскл-карная(давать углаСкажу сразу что игра мне в общем понравилась!)) Бегаешь огромным черножопым громилой и гасишь всех на право и налево разнообразными и жестокими методами! Дело происходит в Америке 70х годов! Рок н ролл и маскл кары в наличии!) А так же в наличии глюки, баги и нестабильный FPS даже на мощных ПК! Сюжет хороший а сюжетные ролики так вообще загляденье!     The definitive edition is a very good game. Most bugs have been fixed. There are very few Bug. The story is very good. The vehicles are well controlled. The game can become repetitive after a long time. Many times you do the same thing in the game. I recommend buying it at a discounted price.

    Where Mafia 3 stands out the most is in its mature story telling. It's rare to see a AAA game that deals with such heavy political themes as racism in 1960's american south. They're present in both story and gameplay, where you get a certain treatment by cops and other NPC's. It's mostly done pretty well, considering that in this day and age where many agressive ideologically driven gaming industry and media pundits demand games to be preachy with ''progressive'' themes and ask for objectivity to be thrown out of the window for their bias confirmation. Mafia 3, for the most part, handles the strong political themes with a balance, if only with few times when they feel like they're being too heavy handed. The core story aspect is based around vengeance, and it's pretty satisfying to take down the mob one bit at a time. The documentary styled cinematic narrative aspect felt really well done aswell, as the game delivers the story with real time events and from a future perspective, where certain characters retell their stories from times, when you as Lincoln, were on your revenge path during the game.

    Gameplay wise Mafia 3 is a rather mixed bag. It involves quite a lot of repetition, doing same objectives over and over to advance the plot. Though, with the game being more in line with something like GTA, it can be tolerable, for me as a GTA fan atleast. Gunplay is somewhat fun, though the gun sound effects are quite lacking and dont deliver that satisfying ooomph. Driving takes up a lot of gameplay as the game pushes you to go from one point to another, i can say that i atleast appreciate that the driving model was made to somewhat resemble how the cars of the 60's handled, with heavy steering and weighty feeling during cornering. However it works best for slow to moderately fast cars, the supercar car types at high speed really dont feel satisfying to drive, with a feeling that the driving physics are almost falling apart. I'm glad that Hangar 13 kept the collection of Playboy magazines in the game, 1960's had some mighty fine ladies. Another positive is the soundtrack, Take Two has licensed some really nice music for the game to enhance the recreation of the time period.

    Taking over districts by bringing down the members of mafia's chain of command and taking over their businesses one by one was pretty satisfying, and the subplots of each of the underbosses were unique and pretty interesting. Well, maybe apart from the fact that the game doesnt give you a choice in whether to spare or kill the underbosses, as most of them you're being forced to kill, while the lives of a couple of them you're forced to spare. Satisfying aswell was the mechanic in how you need to assign the districts to one of your own of the 3 underbosses, that you recruit during the game, the fact that they can turn on you, if you dont give them districts to run, was a bold move aswell, though i managed to keep all 3 happy. I was happy to see Vito coming back and having him as my underboss, at times i wished you could play as him instead, as i really liked him in Mafia 2. Lincoln himself isnt bad either, he's a likeable, bad arse force of nature.

    The game world, that consists of New Bordeaux city and the bayou swamp lands, is quite well made, with nice attention to details and successfully give you that 1960's american southern vibe and atmosphere, but from a gameplay standpoint, the world really lacks when it comes to things to do in it, there is little incentive to keep playing Mafia 3 after you finish the story, as the game world doesnt come close to the sand box freedom and fun that GTA open worlds offer.

    In it's latest build the game runs fairly well and isnt as buggy as in the launch period. Though they haven't changed how weird the skybox looks and the unnatural looking and feeling shift from clear weather to rainy one still remains.    … Expand

    Overall, it comes down to an average score. But only because the story is not trash, it really carries the game. If you don't mind the repetitive stuff, then I would say it's slightly above average (6/10).    … Expand

I felt like I was playing with a strobo light pointed on my face, so I definitely recommend epileptic people not to play it. Nevertheless, I like the fact that you can literally smell the 60’s. Unless people don’t disappear while you’re looking them, you can see how the streets are full of life, lights and colours. You can hear people discussing in bars and along the street, so you’ve always the impression of looking at something alive. There are even appropriate collectibles for the setting, which can be magazines like Playboy or Hot Rod, music albums and communist propaganda manifests. The soundtrack is beautiful and perfect for the setting. The whole world is well defined and rich of particulars, but the defects that I previously said ruin a big part of all this. The gameplay is funny but nothing special. The driving isn’t too bad, but the pointing system is so horrible that I had to activate many aids. Moreover, the fact that you’re constricted to repeat many times the same actions can make the game repetitive after a while. The plot is very poor and simple, but I didn’t expect more from a game that tells about mafia. In the end i gave a rating of 7 just because I loved too much the other chapters and because I think that a rating of 3.6 is too low. I didn’t give more because it would have been just too much for this game. I didn’t play any dlc but I hope they’re better than that.… Expand

    Can say the best mobster game i have ever played. I mean there r better games like gta but this is about an awesome storyline, and the reality in the gameplay - these all make a difference.     I played this game long after release. Most of the bugs and 30 fps limit has been lifted etc. Graphics ok. Sometime very nice for old game. Story is linear but I liked it a lot. Game play is extended through DLC. Game play gets repetitive time to time. Yes the reason to drive and shoot alters but it is gets repetitive and grindy. Still some bugs but no more game breaking ones.

    Did not find the Mafia III Definitive Edition here, but I will say that the modified game pulls 9/10 in all its volume of the game and locations with scenarios in general.

    But the graphics are still not clear why they are so soapy and cloudy colors ...

    This is the only worthy game from the Mafia series where there is a big world - a lot of localized objects for interaction - a lot of exciting and additional content - the only graphics were made by freaks, but with modification to the graphics from modders - good.

    Again, unlike the previous two, the story is so dull that there is nothing keeping me interested to continue playing. I have played for about 5 hours (experiencing several crashes) and I don't thing I am going to continue. Overall it doesn't seem like the same love and care went into this one compared to the previous two. No save on demand?! This is going backwards.

    The Mafia series has always been ahead on game play, graphics, and story telling when compared to the GTA series. I can't say the same thing about this third incarnation that brings nothing new to the table. GTA5 was a lot better and came last year.    … Expand

You go into a neighborhood, attack smaller businesses, work your way up, then take out the neighborhood boss to liberate said neighborhood. Then wash/rinse/repeat.

The plot started off eerily similar to GTAV and you spend the rest of the game repeatedly shooting a warehouse of people over and over until you beat the game. Pretty boring, couldn't even finish the game.

I can understand why people became frustrated with this game as it can be very repetitive, buggy, and the AI can be really really dumb at times, but overall I thought it was great fun. The setting of the game, the fictional city of New Bordeaux (New Orleans), is done very well, with a lot of details, big map and a lot of different buildings, shops, factories. You can clearly see that the developers put a lot of work into that. The soundtrack is amazing, you cannot really go wrong with 1960's music. The collectibles, which are usually just a boring grind are actually very interesting in this game, although the idea is actually copied from Mafia II. The old 1960's Playboy magazines and Vargas pin-ups are going to make you miss the times when natural beauty of a woman was admired and preferred. The number of different cars is also very good and it is a pleasure to drive these old American beauties. But the actual models are pretty low quality (In many cases the quality is visibly lower that in the 6 year older Mafia II, which is really baffling). Which brings me to the negatives, of which there are many. The most apparent is the absolute lack of mission diversity. Vast portion of this game you will spend repetitively killing hundreds of Italian mobsters in all the different districts of the city. These repetitive grinds are separated by short doses of the actual story, which is full of unrealistic and cliche action movie moments. The enemy AI is not very good, the enemies are very predictable and repetitive. The game is not really challenging even on the highest level of difficulty. The save system is one of the worst I have ever seen. It is just completely wrong. The game also suffer from a number of bugs and crashes that were never really fixed. The microtransactions are present in Mafia III in the mild form of a weapons pack DLC. But all these indisputable mistakes pale in comparison with the last one. I wrote that the missions lack in diversity. Well, who absolutely does not lack in diversity is the main protagonist and all the other characters in this game. Mafia III is filled to the brim with the worst and most disgusting SJW propaganda you can imagine. All you need to really know is written on the first screen as soon as you start a new game. This game twists American history, rapes our heritage, it praises thugs and criminals and vilifies normal decent people. and will leave you with a sour taste in your mouth. In my eyes this brings Mafia III down so much that this otherwise average game is now among the worst of the worst.

    If this was just another action adventure game, it would be just a forgettable mistake, but this game bears the name Mafia, and it dishonors and shames this great series. As a big fan of the series I wish this game was never made. Final Verdict: 10 %    … Expand

    What i don't really like is the gameplay, so boring and repetitive. Kill all the guys, kill 2 minor boss, kill a major boss, repeat.
    Where is the wonderful story and the thrill from the first mafia ? It's all gone. A bad GTA clone.

    A horrible PC port, repetitive gameplay and bad graphics. So why am I still giving this game a 6? Because the game down to its core is still a Mafia game (storywise). The world is also very well created even though the graphics don't serve it well. The best part about the game is the music. This game has gotten me into 60's and 70's rock. So thank you Hangar 17!

    After more than a year they still haven't fixed the performance issues this port has. That would be acceptable if the game looked half decent graphics wise. The grapics looks low res and upscalled even at max settings.
    Gameplay and story are pretty repetitive.
    Mafia 1 was the best and 2 wasn't bad at all either but this one is just another money grab attempt from a AAA game publisher.

The story we are given after a typical yubisoft routine. After a hard day to relax by performing a dull job, after which to obtain the excellent story missions, but objectively it's complete crap. Mafia 3 should consist only of the topical tasks, which is really nice. Although, we all knew it would be open world for open world with a lot of similar missions, the developers have fed us gameplay video. You're first drawn, the gameplay is good, but then I get tired. In the game, besides the story missions and clips, happy music but it does not merit developers, and musicians of the time. The machines are driven by normal, I on the realism went well. Graphics are so-so, not the level of 2016, especially the sky, this is the most miserable in the sky games!
    The finale of the game is good, proper. There even 2 endings. After passing you can feel satisfaction, although the passage you were doing some stuff. This is not a Mafia, this is a typical game in the open world. WD 2 a definite better. To make the game worse not work for anybody. IT'S NOT MAFIA.    … Expand

    The game completely disappointed me. Awful shooting physics. Awful physics of cars. The story of how Lincoln Clay kills everyone in its path. This is not like a real story! In this game, Lincoln Clay in the role of Rambo brings everyone. this is not realistic. I will play Mafia 2 with great pleasure. Part 3 completely disappointed me.

    -Fantastic, deep storyline -Outstanding graphics -Little to no glitches or bugs that I've found (80 hours of play) -TONS of awesome weapons, combat is very rewarding as you can go stealth or loud -Even if you shoot someone, they may still roll around on the ground in pain and you can put them out of their misery (realistic) -Who you side    I have no idea why people hate this game.

    Picked this up for the PS4 on some sale a month or three back and finally got around to playing it. What a waste. You've got a great script. You've got some really great characters. You've got a great city and surrounding areas to play in. Driving around is fun. But

    I mean, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? Once you do, I don't remember, maybe the 2nd or 3rd mission in the game, every other mission is exactly like that. How do you have such great characters, and such a great setting, and absolutely zero creativity when it comes to missions?

    Minor nits? The music. Why can't I crank the music up separate from everything else? Why is the music forced to be the same volume as the screeching tires, or the dialog?

    Why can't I save a car? Not far along to see if Burke can enhance my car, but it's kinda irrelevent as I can't seem to save a car anywhere. Yeah, google might help here. But if I need google to explain gameplay then you've failed.    … Expand

    I should mention that the missions are boring and repetitive, even some places are very similar and all you do is kill guy after guy, it becomes very action-centered and frustrating because of the lack of variety and the lack of ideas of the developers.
    The main character is boring and bland, he lacks personality and the npcs are not better, they behave like dumb robots. This game is also poorly optimized for PC, The driving mechanics are good but they are very unrealistic because when you hit other vehicles they act like a ramp instead of making your car bump.

    Good (+):
    + Nice graphics in some places.
    + Good variety of weapons.
    + Good driving mechanics

    Bad (-)
    - Painful AI, some enemies do not react to your presence.
    - Very unrealistic combat and driving animations.
    - Repetitive and boring missions and characters.
    - Uninteresting main charcter and storyline.
    - This game is locked in 30 fps and it has many bugs.
    - Mafia 1 has better animations and it is more realistic,

So, to get a good picture of what this game is like, I'd suggest skipping over reviews of people complaining about performance, crashes, and related issues.

    As for my review, I LOVED playing this game. Yes, some of the game-play was a little repetitive, but the story. The story in this game was wonderful and I was completely taken in by it. I really connected with Clay and while the game was a little rough around the edges, that didn't actually take away from it actual enjoyment.

    Many people complained about not having fast-travel. Why would you want to fast travel when you can run around, steal any vehicle, and just drive? It's one of the most fun parts of the game. The soundtrack was also spectacular and cemented you into the era and location.

    The driving is awesome, feels a bit like GTA 4 with the nice weighty old school physics. Drifting is so good when you get it right, feels absolutely boss and rewarding every time you do a huge 100mph handbrake in power out through traffic.
    The combat is awesome, the guns feel great, the cover system is great. The story is great, it's intense, funny, forever    This game is awesome.

    The missions are great, sure the theme can get repetitive but let's be serious.. it's realistic? If you were taking over an entire city you would have to go through endless shoot outs and kill hundreds of mobsters and that's what happens and not once did I think "oh damn I have to kill more guys". Every time I thought where's my Blackburn FAF-33 and god damn tac vest I have some mobsters to kill, arms dealer get over here pronto!
    The audio and music is awesome, before this game I had hardly listened to 60s - 70s rock and blues, now I'm a huge fan.
    The scanned playboys are awesome!? Genuine vintage playboy in HD!?

    The wishlist:
    More gore would be nice, I would love to see some body parts get blown off when I unload a shotgun point blank.
    When killing key story characters like mob bosses etc, instead of the boss being killed in the cut scene, I would like the boss just to be put on his knees in the cut scene, and then switch back to player controlled Lincoln to allow me to put the chrome to his dome and pull the trigger myself (or throw him out a window etc, it should be my decision).

    DIY fixes:
    Download ReShade and a decent preset to make the graphics looks awesome and I'm playing with everything on low because I have a GTX 750 Ti and i5-2500k, still looks great, getting around 40-50 FPS and it is smooth enough for me.

    Otherwise this game is great, I have no idea what all these other reviews are comparing it to? It's a great simple action adventure shooter.    … Expand

    played the game at the first days of publishing, but didnt experienced that much bugs except weather and some little bugs... not a big fan of mafia, just saying that 2k could published the game later and focused on the bugs, that players didnt judge the game buy its bugs!...    … Expand

    This game is repetative as **** You are literally doing the same thing OVER and OVER AGAIN ! Nothing like Mafia or Mafia II. Soundtrack is the only good thing about this game. If only thing you care about is shooting, then this is a game for you.

It lasts 1 hour though. Then if you want to see some good cutscenes you need to grind, grind and grind.

This game has a big problem regarding using Ubisoft f**k method I mean go and kill this gang, then again and over and over and over. After 4-5 times of this sh**t you has good mision with some cutscene. And then again. If you like game like latest farcry then this game maybe will be ok for you.     The story itself is really strong, taking place in a fictional kind of New Orleans during the Vietnam war and one the most violent decades in history. Touching subject matter like; Sex, Drug wars, Racism, to    Mafia III could have been a great game, it has a huge potencial on it but it has de misfortune of not being well executed and the end product looks and plays like a rushed product.
    The story itself is really strong, taking place in a fictional kind of New Orleans during the Vietnam war and one the most violent decades in history. Touching subject matter like; Sex, Drug wars, Racism, to name a few, that's a good start point for a story, like i mention, the story is strong and dark... better than the previous games. The ending... not so good.
    The gameplay is boring, the game is a third person shooter, giving the player the freedom to explore the city and do the missions at his own time. The game is split in the main story missions and side missions that will reward you with affiliate favors and earn more money. Now... aside of that, the mission design is so repetitive that later turn to not bee engaging anymore, the missions goes from steal something, or kill someone, interrogate someone and that's all... with shooting more mobs in your way. In the first hour you have taste all what the game has to offer. Playing this game in one sit doing both; the main missions and side missions can take you like 45 hrs to beat (kinda), and like i mention in 1 hr you have experience all what the game has to offer, there you have 44 hrs of the same mission design all over and over again. whit a small addition that you can explore the city to find collectibles like: Hot Rood magazine, Playboy magazine, album covers and Vargas paintings, to keep the game a bit more "interesting"
    Visually the game it's "ok" the cutscenes looks beautiful thus because they are pre-rendered, but the actual game graphics are "ok" for a next gen game.
    One last thing to keep on mind, the game has tons of graphic glitches and some other technical issues, some times some missions will not start at all or some important NPC'S will not react at you and will cause to reload the last checkpoint so they can work. ohh my...
    There's people who said that this game runs badly in every system... for some people. During my 45 hrs i had a smooth frame without any drop (so... i think that frame drops might happen more often with low GPUs).    … Expand

    as much as i love the mafia series, this one just ruined everything.
    -plain boring revenge story ( good character development though)
    -gameplay gets boring after the first 3 hours, cause you have to repeat the same kinda side missions to get into the real things
    -the AI is stupid
    but at least it runs decent and has some good graphics.

    Mafia III isn’t necessarily a bad game, but it is definitely not a true heir to the Mafia series. The story is rich and the gameplay is satisfying (although it’s nothing special), but having played the previous games in the series (especially the first one), I never felt like I was playing a Mafia game.
