    The interface is wonderful. You have so much information immediately available to you. Google Maps always has a minimap in the lower left corner, which gives you a good overview of the area. Getting information about people gives you a clear, clear window. Hacking offers a menu with easily recognizable icons, so you always know what your button presses will do.

    This is a masterpiece.It was perfect from start to finish.I've finished Mafia 2 twice before this.The story was better than the other 2 games.Graphics, story, voiceover top level.One of the few games that I enjoy every second of while playing.I wish I played earlier.I wish I played earlier.

    Definitely a wayyy better experience than the original game. Experienced little-to-no bugs and the linear format was good for the story. Good gameplay too!

    Incredible remake, it shows that Hangar 13 learned from its mistakes from Mafia 3, improved the lighting a lot, the deformations of the cars are more realistic and easier to do, the cinematics are beautiful, I liked the original soundtrack and the music of the game, some animations are recycled from Mafia 3 but most of them are new, the melee combat is great, I have noticed few bugs but itIncredible remake, it shows that Hangar 13 learned from its mistakes from Mafia 3, improved the lighting a lot, the deformations of the cars are more realistic and easier to do, the cinematics are beautiful, I liked the original soundtrack and the music of the game, some animations are recycled from Mafia 3 but most of them are new, the melee combat is great, I have noticed few bugs but it does not compare with Mafia 3 in the bugs.     Very pleasant experience of the game!
    Passed twice in a row, on the average and then on the classic level of difficulty, the last time this happened to me was when MAFIA II came out. I usually go through games again in at least a couple of years

Полностью русская локализация(на очень высоком уровне, уши радуются этим голосам), графика прекрасна, детализация на хорошем уровне, физика и управление машин выше всех похвал, звуки и музыка в игре заслуживают отдельной высокой похвалы, сюжет и катсцены переносят тебя и дают почувствовать тебе то, что было в те далёкие 30ые годы прошлого века(это простоОчень достойный ремейк 1ой мафии!     Но у игры есть небольшие минусы: боёвка в рукопашную выглядит слишком тривиальной и какой-то не доделанной(выглядит очень убого как-то). То как главный герой бросает коктейли молотова и гранаты - выглядит очень убого и не естественно(он просто достаёт из пиджака и кидает, не снимая чеку с гранаты или не поджигает молотов).

    На этом всё, общая оценка за данный ремейк: 9/10, есть небольшие огрехи для меня, но они не слишком сильно занизили оценку на данную игру, всё таки она получилась если не идеальной, то очень даже не плохой.    … Expand

    This game oozes atmosphere, great remake. Really enjoyed the story, gameplay is good enough. Don't buy this one for the gameplay, if you like mobster stories this one is as good as any Scorcese on screen.

    В оригинал не играл. Ремейк понравился, красивая картинка, музыка, история, добротный экшн. Встретились пара мелких багов, анимации кое-где убогенько выглядели, мир не такой интересный и живой как в гта, но в целом, игра понравилась.     Esse é um dos jogos com a história mais imersiva que já vi, e o principal motivo disso é que esse jogo tem uma ótima atmosfera para o que ele propõe. Eu nunca joguei nenhum outro Mafia,mas posso dizer que minha experiência com esse remake foi bem positiva. Talvez eu só mudasse um pouco nos combates, que não apresentam nenhuma nova mecânica e são repetitivos.

    As always Hangar 13 delivers yet another great game, those who played the Definitive Edition. know its a game that's going to bring us a lot of Mafia 2 memories , Mafia fans like me who played the game already probably had the same fear as me and hoped the game would actually do well .We know it's a game that 2K hopes makes a good revenue, They wanna make a big buck, so they just releasedAs always Hangar 13 delivers yet another great game, those who played the Definitive Edition. know its a game that's going to bring us a lot of Mafia 2 memories , Mafia fans like me who played the game already probably had the same fear as me and hoped the game would actually do well .We know it's a game that 2K hopes makes a good revenue, They wanna make a big buck, so they just released Mafia 4 in hopes of revitalizing the franchise, propably before the announcement of an even bigger Release in the New Year, the game itself plays good and it's great to be back in one of the few games that let you explore the 1930's era like no other, this total masterpiece by 2k studios Brings us mid prohibition Chicago like none before.

    Mafia allowed us to explore more than what we could only imagine, movies like the Godfather gave us a little bit of and idea of how the italian mafia really used to run the streets back in the old days,and Mafia gave us an even greater understanding of what one of the darkest periods of our country really looked like, the shootouts, the sitdowns , the drama ,and such realistic driving mechanichs, made us feel like we were in a Martin Scorsese movie. But not everything is great in paradise, even thought the game is great the mechanics could've been improved, there's a couple little errors in the game that became just downright infuriating

    The melee for example is one area of the game must players probably avoided , it was just broken there's just not much to say about it, you'd have to experience it to understand , aside form the meele there's a couple other things in the game that just really get frustrating,civilian drivers purposely wrecking into you in the middle of a chase or getaway,the lack of weapon and medkit selections just get old quick. Another area of the game that's hard to understand is why they wouldn't implement the free roam mode into the actual gameplay itself, let's face it not everyone is gonna roam around the game and not get anything done story wise, we are here for the story mainly, and not everyone is going to go back and just play the free roam once you have finished the game, that was a real buzzkill for players who wanted to get an immersive experience like Mafia 2, the fact that we can't even customize Tommy's outfit in the main game is just way too linear for me, like come on one of the best features Mafia has is the classy mobster looks you can give your character.

    Even though the game is everything a remake should be i feel like 2k could've done better, they could've made this remake truly great had the game been a little bit more thought out and polished before it's realease. Don't get me wrong the game is amazing , the graphics are outstanding and the story line is great, but with the standards set by Mafia 2 this one fell a little short,2k could've really made a masterpiece had team not get lazy towards the end and rushed to get the game out, and even though the bugs and glitches that persisted throught the game were not game breaking , the game itself failed to deliver a truly Mafia experience and gave more us more of a story driven game that's more like a movie and with doing so took many of the features that we loved about the game out hence free roam and character customization when they didn't really needed to be taken out. If Hangar 13 really wanted to give us that movie like experience they should've looked at similiar recent games that played like a movie and also gave the players more freedom to interact with the world.    … Expand

Им удалось почти полностью показать нам город, хоть и в некоторых моментах он был изменён.     A truly well-made remake. Hangar 13 made a really good job of expanding the scenes and making more side characters more scenes, which made them more important to the player. The whole soundtrack was remade and sounds really nice. The graphics in this game are by far the best I've seen the reflections, textures and the characters look amazing and the optimization is pretty good, and thereA truly well-made remake.     The story is superb; I could barely put down my controller because it was just so captivating. I can't tell you anything about how it compares to the original story, but I do know that this re-written game is a masterpiece.
    The beautifully crafted city of Lost Heaven is an authentic backdrop for the events that take place in the game. As you drive from Salieri's Bar to the mission marker, you can listen to period-accurate music on the radio, news broadcasts, and even a baseball game. Often times, when I had already arrived at my destination, I would park my car and listen for the news anchor to finish his segment on the Great Depression, the rise of Adolf Hitler in Germany, the weather, or the goings-on in Lost Heaven, Empire Bay, and even New Bordeaux.
    It's these little details that make the world in this game feel real and grounded.

    After I had finished the story, I was sad that it was over so quickly; after only about 10 hours, the campaign was done. I thought the game was over for me, but then I played the Freeride mode and was amazed by the number of extra missions and challenges the game had to offer.

    Now, many people are unhappy that the game has borrowed many aspects from Mafia 3, but I don't feel that way. Hangar 13 didn't copy and paste assets, no, they took what they had, improved it something fierce, and implemented it in the Definitive Edition of Mafia. The gunplay? Improved. The lighting? Improved. Performance? Improved. Gameplay? Improved. AI? Improved.

    Not a single thing about this game displeases me and I can only recommend to anyone to play it. Be it for the amazing story, the beautiful city to explore, the fantastic soundtrack or simply the gorgeous-looking cars - play it.

    A little personal note I would like to add - there are an awful lot of 0-point reviews on this game that are mostly people saying "Oh, I'm not happy with the way the camera works, 0 points." or "All in all I like it, but they changed the way Tommy looks, 0/10". And I just have to ask - who writes a review and judges the entire game by one fault?    … Expand

    Mafia Definitive Edition is an amazing remake of the original Mafia 1. The graphics were really amazing. The city of Lost Heaven in the 1930s is really amazing, it's alive and really breathtaking. The story, the characters, the missions were really great.9,5/10

Какая здесь графика!! Машины нарисованы с любовью, иной раз будто она реально перед тобой стоит эта игра не без проблем, много багов, мелких недочетов, пустой режим прогулки(фриром) но эта игра может и не на 10 баллов, но она для меня одна из лучших, на все огрехи хочется просто закрыть глаза!!! Some of the criticism I have read was that the feel of the story is different and that the authors missed the point of the original. While the tone is indeed very different, I think this was done deliberately and not because the authors of the remake did not understand the original.

    This is a much darker and grim take on the original story and, in my opinion, a more realistic take. Gone is the feeling of an era of "gentlemen" gangsters. During many missions, you will feel bad about your actions and Tommy is portrayed as a much more conflicted character other than a good guy who just got together with bad company. All of the characters are much more developed and it really helps with fleshing out the gangster underworld. Not all changes to the story and characters are for the better in my opinion, but overall it still works very well.

    I played on the classic difficulty and it was an ideal challenge, I highly recommend you choose this difficulty if you have played the original Mafia (the infamous race still took me a few tries). The combat is kind of a generic cover shooter, but it works really well and I have enjoyed it.

    The few things I missed were Luca Bertone's side quests which have been reduced to just finding a hidden car in the world. I also missed the original music.

    Overall, I highly recommend this game both for new players and for people who have played the original! I have not had this much fun in a game in a long time. If you have played the original, just be ready to accept the much darker narrative.    … Expand

Yeah compared to the orginal, its a bit worse, but if you compare it to current- gen games, its actually a great game, with an interesting story telling, cinematic cutsecenes and great soundtrack. Shooting and driving are the same as in mafia 3, and i think they are pretty good. Gameplay dont make you feel bored. I think this games deserves a game awardIt's an extraordinary remake.     Best game in 2020. You should play it. Great storyline, dialogue, characters. And driving is pretty fun and with realistic approach. And very very good soundtrack. And graphics aur damnn good like any GTA 5 and Red dead redemption 2. It will definitely will be the game of the year 2020 for me. Voice acting is great and i firtst time i though I was watching any MAFIA type of movie. I'llBest game in 2020. You should play it. Great storyline, dialogue, characters. And driving is pretty fun and with realistic approach. And very very good soundtrack. And graphics aur damnn good like any GTA 5 and Red dead redemption 2.     No, really, I'm 50% through the campaign and still haven't seen any game breaking bugs, also no crashes. Everything runs perfectly! The story is very interesting and fun, mechanics are not the best but are not that bad either. Definitely one of the best singleplayer games this year.

    All respects to the original, keeping graphics aside this remake also gave an extra depths to the characters with their dialogues and expressions. It's not every day I can say that a video game made me emotional in the end but this one did. Although I liked their choice of keeping limited weapon choice, firing mechanics could have been improved

Just driving my convertible with my buddies, listening to Luis Armstrong, busting balls, smashing cars, shooting punks in the head. No multiplayer, no MTX, no 500 collectibles to hooover up all over the map, no hamfisted references to slaveryI'm positively chuffed.     Excellent remake of a classic. Voice acting and story are topnotch. The gunplay is similar to the level of Max Payne games ; extremely fun and satisfying.
    Few issues with the game is that, during my playthrough, it crashed few times.

To je igra kakvih nema baš u današnje vrijeme i tako linearni naslovi su stvarno rijetkost te su u današnje vrijeme financijski gledano ne isplativi. There is depth added to the time period with prohibition and financial crisis - both mentioned in original but it was all. Game fills a lot of holes. If there is something for you it is not just "there" but it has a story or sequence. NPC finally just do not waste time by standing somewhere for years in case gangsters would need some info etc. Gameplay is nice and smooth. Game is hard on classic difficulty - way more than ortiginal game. (You could do all the missions without taking a single hit in Mafia CoLH). AI is finally at least little bit smart and realistic - if they don´t see you change cover they presume you are still there and you can kick their ass from back - no supernatural "i know where you are all the time". and way more. Developers got rid of Lucas fetch and gave you collectibles instead of draging you around the map three times to get car you will never use. There is few flaws - throwing animation is dreadful, some bushes are made from concrete, there is no driving to bar after mission, shoting from car is made for kindergarten and thei got rid of few dumb characters like yellow pete, idiot joe or big dick. Overall it is really nice little budget game for two thirtd of the AAA price and so close to 9/10 but it is 8/10 in this condition - hope we will get some DLCs becouse it would be waste of really nice city to just say the same old, overplayed and boring story - even reimagined. But more important is: This game makes the original game like 5/10 or less.… Expand

It's a shame though that they shortened it, cut Yellow Pete, Lucas Bertone's missions and alternative endings in some missions. And it's a pity that the music is not that great. Sure, the soundtrack made by Jesse Harlin is really, really good, but the songs weAs somebody who has finished the original game more than 10 times I can say that Hangar 13 did a very good job doing the remake.     Спасибо! Пронастольгировала. Чистый сюжет прошла на классике за 15 часов, без гонки, т.к. она меня еще в детстве достала, ее переключила на легкий режим) Ну и еще куча всего собирать осталось в свободном режиме)

    Outstanding. The charm of the original story with some well thought out tweaks and additions. Character recast was spot on. Combat was still a tad clunky, but enjoyable nevertheless.

    It's nice to see a game led by a good quality story again rather than trying to shoehorn something into an endless array of side missions.

    Well worth playing.

    Miesto Tommyho príde do baru detektív Norman a hneď na začiatku sa už podľa novín čo prinesie vie že zabiť Morella pôjde len jednou cestou...
    Postavy sú prepracované... Niektoré majú pozmenený charakter - Hlavne Tommy,Sam,Paulie,Sára a Salieri...
    Ale napríklad Ralph už nieje len obyčajný koktavý mechanik ktorý vám len raz začas dohodí auto
    Čo sa misií týka
    V prvej misií je síce nepriateľov viac... Ale je omnoho ľahšie im uniknúť než to bolo v originále...
    Všetky misie sú celkovo skvelé no ku koncu idú strašne rýchlo za sebou že sa ani nenazdáte a zrazu ste v galerií...
    Závod je na extrémnu obtiažnosť ♥♥♥♥ ťažký ale hra viacej odpúšťa takže napríklad sa nemusíte báť že po viacerých nárazoch vám odpadne koleso...
    Vzťah Tommyho a Sáry je rozšírený o nejaké detaily ale nejak veľký dopad to na hru nemá...
    Dosť veľkou zmenou si prešiel koniec hry...

    Tommy už na konci nepôsobí vôbec prekvapene keď za ním prídu Vito a Joe ale vypadá že dobre vedel že ten deň raz príde tak na otázku ''Pan Angelo?'' odpovie ''Ano'' s kľudom pripravený čeliť svojmu osudu ktorému tak dlho utekal... Nakoniec zomiera v kruhu svojej rodiny s vedomím že jeho rodina je konečne v bezpečí

    Hru som prešiel dokopy 3 krát
    Raz na Normál na PS4
    A dvakrát na Classic (1x PC a 1x PS4)
    (Obe verzie PC aj PS4 mám dokončené aj so všetkými achievementami)

    Trochu som sa bál ako sa po Mafií 3 Hangar 13 popasuje s týmto Remakom a mal som trochu obavy aby to neskončilo fiaskom
    Ale na moje prekvapenie Remake sa Hangaru 13 dosť podaril... Zmeny či už menšie alebo väčšie Remaku dosť prospeli ... Hlavne to strieľanie ktoré už je v originále na dnešnú dobu zastaralé (ale zároveň to nové už nerobí z Mafie tak ťažkú hru ako si ju pamätáme)
    Aj keď mám už Remake dokončený 3 krát určite si ho dám niekedy znovu

    Mafia Definitive Edition is not just a change of graphics, it is a change of the whole game, some features are borrowed from Mafia 3, some characters are changed, but mafia remains mafia. Of course, some flaws flowed into the Definitive Edition, but they are so invisible that they do not affect the gameplay in any way.

Сначала казалась графика шикарной, на то время ( когда игровая индустрия только развивалась), это была просто бомбическая графика, но постепенно графика казалась всё хуже и хуже. И вот, 25 сентября 2020-го года выходит    Russian version ( translate)
    Мафия - шикарная игра с сюжетом и атмосферой.
    В далеком 2002-м году вышла Mafia : The City of Lost Heaven которая завоевала мое сердце!
    Сначала казалась графика шикарной, на то время ( когда игровая индустрия только развивалась), это была просто бомбическая графика, но постепенно графика казалась всё хуже и хуже.

    И вот, 25 сентября 2020-го года выходит Mafia: Definitive Edition, которая стала - игрой года, по-моему, мнению! Новая графика, новая физика, дополненный сюжет ( который прям очень входит в суть игры), всё просто супер, как я считаю!
    Физика - на отличном уровне, боевка - новая, тоже очень хорошо смотрится, стрельба - хорошая, графика - отличная, атмосфера - присутствует ( хочу даже сказать то, что в оригинале я атмосферы так и не почувствовал, скорее всего из-за пустого мира...), кат-сцены очень качественно сделаны.
    В общем мне очень понравился ремейк 1-й части, я так долго его ждал и не прогадал с успехом! Всем рекомендую, это лучшее за последние года!
    Моя оценка 10 заслуженных баллов из 10!

    Mafia is a gorgeous game with a storyline and atmosphere.
    Back in 2002, Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven came out and won my heart!
    At first it seemed gorgeous, at that time (when the gaming industry was just developing), it was just wonderful graphics, but gradually it seemed worse and worse.
    And now, on September 25, 2020, Mafia: Definitive Edition is released, which has become the game of the year, in my opinion, in my opinion! New graphics, new physics, augmented storyline (which is very much the essence of the game), everything is just superb, in my opinion!
    The physics is at an excellent level, the combat is new, it also looks very good, the shooting is good, the graphics are excellent, the atmosphere is present (I even want to say that I never felt the atmosphere in the original, most likely because of the empty world. ..), cut-scenes are very well done.
    In general, I really liked the remake of the 1st part, I waited for it for so long and did not lose it with success! I recommend it to everyone, this is the best in recent years!
    Thanks to Hangar 13 studio, which now deserves my trust.

    In the end, this remake took me back to those days. Thanks to the hangars they were able to do it.

    Beautiful story as we knew already but with way better voice acting, gorgeous graphics and good dialogues. New characters also make more sense in the context (Tommy is a killer in the end so all the "humble boy" thing that people claim is better is just nostalgia).     When i saw this game in the first trailer i said it is gonna be a good game and yes, it is. Difficulty is great made, the shooting is not exactly to lincoln clay and i am telling u that cause i played and finished this game 3 times, 1 on normal and 2 on classic and i played mafia 3 too. What i dont like : when first time i entered int the game i had a problem with fullscreen mode cause it was locked at 60 fps, but if u go where is ur game, properties , accessibility, u have there fullscreen optimization and u click on it and then it ll be fixed. Another thing, in this game are some glitches but there are not so bad to make ur gameplay feel bad, for example when the npcs are entering in the car, a part of them are entering "in the car", and in a trip to the country when u r carrying sam ur hand enters in the coat, but this is not a big problem. The game is great optimized not like mafia 3 where u had 30 fps lock in the first 2-3 days or something. Classic mode is great made, the npcs are giving u a quite damage, the race is very hard and the police responds to more crimes for example : if u r driving on the sidewalk and u could run in some civillians police will want to give u fine and that is a great detail. The characters are much better done because u can see their feelings and their expressions and i see that hangar 13 really developed the characters and in my opinion the best are : Paulie, Sarah, Vinny and Tommy. A lot of people say that Tommy is broken and the original one is better, but i dont think so and I played a lot mafia original. And the story i think is better in the remake with that changes but this is just my opinion. I recomand u to buy this game and for a not full game price is an offer you cant refuse !… Expand

    A fantastic story full of twists, a great atmosphere and the best mafia game ever released. In terms of graphics, beauty, gameplay and control can be a little harder for someone. After the failed Mafia 3, the developers improved their reputation.

    It's a pretty good game. The game runs well on PC very well Optimized. It's a short game very linear focussing only on the story. The city of Lost Haven has no points of interest or side quests. You can drive around if you want to very Similar to other Mafia games like Mafia 3 and 2 in terms of the open world aspect.

    Awesome game! The classics are back! At first there were doubts, later, when I saw the credits - I realized this is a masterpiece! I declare with full responsibility that the plot has become much better! The atmosphere is fire! The musical accompaniment is amazing! The graphics are on the level! Hangar 13 well done! All Mafia 3 bugs have been fixed!

    This is a full-fledged, honest to God remake. Some changes to the story will upset hardcore fans, but I think this approach is absolutely justified. Even though this remake is not as amazing as new versions of Resident Evil 2 and Final Fantasy 7, it’s still a worthy update.

    The main difference between the remake and the original game is that the latter was outstanding for its time, while the Definitive Edition is “merely” good. Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s not worth your time. What’s crucial here is the fact that Hangar 13 approached the original’s narrative with proper respect and refrained from changing it too much. Mafia: Definitive Edition might not be remarkable as an open-world action game, but it still has the story worthy of the most revered gangster movies. [12/2020, p.28]

    Mafia: Definitive Edition is a remake of mixed flavours. Some elements are just as they used to be, and it's great. Some elements are just as they used to be, and it's awful. Mixture of aged mechanics and amazing graphics, new voices, great old story and some added, yet bad storylines, make it not such a perfect remake. But it sure is worth your time, whether you are a fan of the original or not. The moral of the story survived in all its glory, just be sure to focus your attention to the details where Mafia used to and still shines the most.
