And while being a child, or especially inclined to children’s fiction, might be required to fully appreciate its wide-eyed story, its beautiful design and fine animation can be admired by all ages.

This is a truly emotional adventure game, narrated in a playful, original fashion. Its actual gameplay, however, isn’t as interesting as it could have been. Still, it’s beautiful, it’s well acted and the soundtrack is phenomenal.

Beyond the Page is a an emotional fable that focuses on narrative that proposes uninspired platforms with simple puzzles, despite some original sections. Even so, its artistic design is charming and surprising.

Putting aside the uninteresting platforming, Lost Words: Beyond the Page is a lovely coming of age story, and a beautiful recreation of what its like to feel lost, and ultimately find yourself again.

Lost Words: Beyond the Page feels less like a game and more like an interactive graphic novel. The narrative is engaging and fun to witness, but it can become dull as it suffers from a repetitive gameloop. There still something worth discovering here as the story beats and systems provide a decent experience overall, but this will likely only be magical for one playthrough.

Loss, grief and processing. These themes are central to 'Lost words: beyond the page'. Heavy subjects that are beautifully put into words and images, in a way that is also accessible for children. Just don’t expect a great challenge.

The lovely Lost Words has some interesting ideas and presents a well-written, authentic tale of a young girl’s grief, but uninspired platforming drags the experience down.

the gameplay is platforming based and comes in different flavours one where you platform around a journal where you have to figure out where to go and one where the girl is writing a story where you have to use words to interact with the environment.
