    I love this game. A story, characters, conflicts, game mechanics. I want to empathize with the heroes, because they're worked out well. I want more!

    Basically a teenage fiction/drama, it starts very slowly and boringly from Episode 1. It gets better around the end of Episode 2. Episodes 3 really pulls you in. The game is not perfect, many of the game's core gameplay feel unsatisfying and pointless (clicking and "viewing" things which doesnt serve anything to the advancement of the game) - but the story itself is good. Keep in mind thatBasically a teenage fiction/drama, it starts very slowly and boringly from Episode 1. It gets better around the end of Episode 2. Episodes 3 really pulls you in. The game is not perfect, many of the game's core gameplay feel unsatisfying and pointless (clicking and "viewing" things which doesnt serve anything to the advancement of the game) - but the story itself is good. Keep in mind that this is a teenage story - therefore you shouldn't take the logic factor very seriously. The graphics are great in style, though face-animation are terrible - especially the lipsyncing. Framerate is very consistent and should perform well with decent hardware.… Expand

    Impossibly intense & affecting, Life Is strange is like a dream you don't want to wake up from.
    An addiction you don't want to recover from. Which stops time on both sides of the screen.

    Best narrative gaming experience of all time.

    Life is Strange is now one of my all time FAVORITE games. Is it perfect? No...its damn near close though. This game is beautiful in its own special, slightly twisted way. I can't say anything else because this game is the best going in COMPLETELY BLIND. I'm making this review though because you need to know what you are signing up for going in.     I'm lost for words in this game, the feels, I think it's perfectly made, thumbs up for the creator and those who work on this game, really. This game is stuck in my head everywhere I go. I feel terrible for buying this game so cheap. I'm more of a Fps,moba and mmorpg type of player so when I first bought this game, I really didn't care at it first.     The game is full of references to video games and films, the soundtrack is pure bliss and the main character is so easy to connect with that you get so implied in the story.

    It has some issues with the story itself, maybe an story a bit more mature would have been more interesting, maybe some events happening are kind of cliche, but i think it compensates well with all its strengths. Definitely worth playing.    … Expand

    One of the most carefully crafted games I've played. With a great, engaging story and good character development, episode 1 had me wanting episode 2 right from the get-go. If the other episodes are half as good as this telltale inspired episodic drama, then we're in for a treat.

    Great adventure game. Has plenty of properly emotional moments and a fine nostalgic vibe that i really loved. Dontnod shows that you dont need super, mega AAA game budget to make an impactful and beautiful game, and makes excellent use of Unreal Engine 3 with hand crafted visuals. Original soundtrack was very nicely done and licensed songs were really well picked aswell.

    As a sci fi fan, the way the time travel is handled in the game fascinated me. Story was well paced, both main and side characters felt down to earth that you could see and understand their struggles. If there is one major criticism to be made about the story side of things, then its about the ending, it very much resembles Mass Effect 3's struggles, but to be fair towards Dontnod, they did not market the pretence that all of your choices would matter in the ending, they just affected the smaller things around you as you progressed through the story, episode to episode. Still, ending could've been handled better, as it comes down to a rudimentary choice, but really, it didnt negatively impact the overall experience either.

    It's really one of a kind experience and dont let yourself to be fooled by the haters who call this a teen girl drama or right wing reactionaries calling it SJW propaganda, despite some of the peoples political opinions behind the game, it really isnt. If you love a fine adventure game then go in open minded into this one and you'll find a unique experience that will stick with you after finishing it.    … Expand

    AMAZING GAME. 10/10 MUSIC, HISTORY, CHARACTERS.. A game made with much affection and dedication.
    Thanks to DONTNOD for making a wonderful experience. The game I most connected to by far. Beautiful and Devastating is what it is Life is Strange.

    Imagine, you're a fairly typical high school girl obsessed with taking photographs. You moved from a rather hip and happening city to go to a school back in your boring little hometown just because your favorite photographer is now a teacher there. Your life is more or less a day to day repeat of Degrassi High without Drake. Until one day you happen to be in the right place at the right time and discover you're a living time machine.

    Welcome to Life is Strange, an episodic "interactive movie" as I've started to call them. It's pretty similar to TellTale's recent adventure games where you control a character to explore your environment, interact with other characters, and make major story affecting decisions such as whether you want to eat waffles or eggs and bacon for breakfast.

    Okay, it does sound rather silly. And the first episode DOES give off a pretty bad impression. As previously mentioned, it starts off almost like a 2015 High School simulator. But by the end of episode one, you gather enough hints to figure out some major ♥♥♥♥ is going down. Each episode since has only traveled further down that rabbit hole. Decisions get much more important, and you may find yourself using the token 'rewind' system to change your decisions in case your consciousness gets the better of you.

    Of course, no game is without it's flaws, and Life is Strange has a few I'd rather forget about. The dialogue itself is very "older men trying to emulate teenage girls they've seen talking on Twitter/Tumblr/Instagram" and can lead to HELLA cringe worthy moments. The controls can be a bit twitchy at times, and you'll find yourself trying to readjust your positioning just to get an option to light up for you. But the overall story is pretty damn interesting and fun. There are plenty of references to classic cult tv shows and movies like Twin Peaks, Donnie Darko, Butterfly Effect, Twilight Zone, even Planet of the Apes! And the plot itself seems to borrow elements from these sources as well.

    Edit: Now that the final episode is out, I can say that I still feel the game was worth my time and money. The ending has left fans very divided, but I myself enjoyed it. Without spoiling too much, just keep in mind that this IS a Time Travel story, and they don't tend to get "happy endings". My only REAL complaint about the game is that, like TellTale's recent games, your choices... don't make too much actual impact. That's the one downfall of this whole "Interactive Movie" genre, and I wish it could be properly solved. Maybe one day.

    I'd still say if you're a fan of recent TellTale games, or time travel stories, or melodramatic entertainment? Give it a shot. If you don't like it, you can always just rewind time to before you bought it. Right?

    - Characters are very interesting and every chapter Max writes in her diary about her relationship with them at the moment. They put a great effort in this aspect.

    - The episodes ending are great! Always right in the feels ;)

    - Technically speaking is not ground breaking but Unreal Engine 3 fit nicely. Is good to see that they approached artistically mixing shaders and not only cel-shaded models like in other franchises. The art, care of details and color palettes are great. The work done with vintage filters, postprocess, chromatic aberration, DOF, bloom is really good! ;)

    - The game is on 7th and 8th gen including PC. Shamefully is not yet confirmed any portable or tablet version (like TWD did with iOS and Android) maybe if the go for UE4 would be able to do that.

    - Gameplay wise mmm is exactly the same as The Walking Dead but you don't use many items. You interact with the environment and mostly you alter the time with your powers to change situations around the characters.

    - It has a bit of replayability because of the collectibles (the pictures to complete your diary) and a few interesting choices during the five episodes. Is not like in the Telltale Games that all roads go to the same place, is not Until Dawn which can give you a few very different results but your choices makes you feel responsible...You'll see.

    - The music and the OST in general is great and very relaxing. Is a game to take your time and be played on late night ;) I saw people rushing through it. Is a shame. that's why it took my almost 30hs to complete. Because even if is a bit linear you it deserves your attention on the work they put on some dialogs and choices (even those choices that doesn't matter at all).

    Cons:
    Not many cons....FOR REALS?
    Yes, it worth his price and the time you spend with it 100% ;)

    - I would be great to have a game like this with more difficult puzzles in the future. Nowadays the experience of this kind of games underestimates some kind of gamers to reach wide audiences.

    - I will not enter in spoilers but there're a few gaps that maybe in a next game or a DLC they can "solve".

    - You'll missed to play it like the first time. Is not the same to play the episodes and have to wait than playing it all on a few sits now that is out. So, if you can avoid spoilers on the internet (mostly on our hipster friend Tumblr and deviantART) try to take your time.

    - A few audio glitches on the late episodes. They can be solved easily.    … Expand

    So that last time the game has you climbing the path nearly to the Lighthouse, if the PC gets a Blue Screen you think this has been a very good game. Then you get the last choice and the ending. Worse than ME 3 for an ending so bad it ruined the WHOLE game for me. I am not going to give spoilers so I will not detail my reasons. But I was so, so disappointed.

    yeah i had very much fun actually i got kinda addicted to it,but in the end the it is just a black or white ending,which is ridiculous for an interactive movie game ,it just as prince of Persia franchise(which were great) except that they fool you and make you think you can make a choice.

    What was this game an experience, really. The only thing I did not like in this entire game was the ending, but you know what I mean when you will play this beautiful game. Square and Dontnod have done an amazing job by creating this game and his awesome storyline. Where are you waiting for, go to steam and buy it!

    Beyond a shadow of a doubt this is one of the greatest achievements in the history of storytelling. This game broke my heart and I love it even more because of that. Easily 10 out of 10 and a badass seal of approval.

    This game will change your life. Its in my top 3 best games of ALL time. like ever. If you are into deep story, with well developed characters..f**k it man - if u are into brilliant games (rhetorical question lol)..just play this game. That its..play the game, its brilliant and it will hit u hard, and u will remember this game - forever. That's how good Life is Strange is. A true masterpiece.

    I like this game. It starts off as a bit of a walk in the park and stays that way until halfway into the story, but its story is realistic and fresh. I haven't tried any Telltale game yet, but I assume Life is Strange is similar to them.

    GAMEPLAY
    The game has probably been described in detail already by the hundreds of user reviews, so I'll just detail some main takeaways.

    For one thing, the game is very short. If you rush through the game (even with lots of exploration), you can certainly complete an episode or two in one sitting (around 1-2 hours).

    Being a story-oriented game, you play the role of a high school girl who essentially makes good-or-bad or side-with-whom decisions, and has the power to reverse time. It is a slice of life game in a high school setting with the main themes being bullying and teenage angst.

    You are encouraged to reverse any decisions you've made or replay the game from various episodes to find how characters change. Certain decisions are "permanent" and cannot be reversed, even across episodes.

    You cannot quickly progress through dialogue*. However, the devs made it so that you can skip lines you've already seen if you've reversed time.

    CLIMAX
    Starting from the second half of Episode 4, the drama starts to kick in, and the game becomes more challenging. The decisions you've made throughout the game start to unfold and take direct effect.

    The high ratings for the game were probably because of Episodes 4 and 5. The conclusion is tragic and makes your efforts throughout the game worthwhile. They're more challenging, which really tests your ability to rewind time.

    The only thing I must advise is: During your first run of Episode 5, I highly suggest choosing the 'left' ending. I won't divulge any more than that.

    ORIGINALITY
    This is where the game suffers a little. The gameplay is certainly well done, but it is not an original concept. The time travel/time reversal theme has been used time and time again (haha, puns) throughout tons movies, shows and games.

    The story is very original though, since it's not everyday that you find a game with a story about teenagers in school who are dealing with bullying and trying to help people deal with their daily problems. It's a breath of fresh air from all the action games and open world games that come out these days.

    SUMMARY
    One of my friends told me that the game was a lot more compelling when the episodes were released one by one and people were discussing about how their decisions would affect the MC in subsequent episodes.

    Alas, I purchased the game as a complete set, so I just played it through without taking time off to ponder the consequences of/discuss about any decisions I made. I probably lost some immersion from the first three episodes because of that.

    Anyway, I have to give this game two separate ratings. For Episodes 1-3, I can only give them a 8/10 at best, but for Episodes 4-5, I give them a 9/10. It's a great game overall, and I don't regret spending the time to play it.    … Expand

    The visual detail of the game is nothing less than art itself, from certian vagueness to extreme detail you can always expect to exprience some sort of beauty around every corner. With 14 hours of gameplay, the amount of replay value Life is Strange has is phenomenal and though the main story ends with one of two possible choices the entire game between chapters has many different possibilities that can alter the story itself.Personally, this game hit so many feels for me that I cried and had jaw dropping moments where I saw myself within certian characters.     Когда эта игра только вышла, я была несовершеннолетней маленькой 14-летней девочкой, но уже тогда, смотря стримы на twitch ильи maddyson, эта игра казалась мне невыносимо тупой, нудной, затянутой и совершенно бессмысленной. Спустя несколько сранных лет я проспорила самостоятельно пройти и оценить ее, и сделала это...
    Хлоя, блять, одна из самых мерзких персонажей за всю историю игр, сука.Она винила отца за то, что он попал в аварию, умер и оставил её одну, эту малую макс за то, что её родители в 13 лет увезли её в другой город, а подругу за то, что она пропала, хоть потом нашла её расчлененный труп, блять, в земле. И все виноваты в её одиночестве. А потом про нее ещё и делают отдельный приквел , ну, здорово, ебать.
    Графика, геймплей... об этом и говорить не буду, потому что это мультфильм для умственно отсталых. Я в ахуе, как у этого куска калла столько фанаток, орды, сука, маленьких бунтующих девочек допубертатного возраста.

    Почему оценка 1, а не 0? Балл отдам за САМЫЙ ЛУЧШИЙ ЭПИЗОД, ИЗ-ЗА КОТОРОГО И НУЖНО ПРОХОДИТЬ ИГРУ ПОЛНОСТЬЮ И СТАВИТЬ 10 ИЗ 10.... Это было что-то настолько убогое, абсурдное и нелепое, что меня пробивало на смех, что кто-то действительно строчил положительные комментарии к нему.

    Игра действительно по своей сути бесполезная. В конце игры при любом выборе концовки, все твои выборы до идут в пизду. Серьезно. Если ты ебнешь эту суку, ты тупо вернешься в начало игры. Если ты ее спасешь, то город будет уничтожен, и твои поступки тоже никому уже не будут интересны.

    Я действительно не понимаю, почему я оцениваю эту игру так высоко, в целый 1 балл, но я ее все-таки прошла, все 5 эпизодов, и пройду приквел, поэтому чисто 0 не могу позволить себе влепить ей.    … Expand

    One of my favorite games. It have lots of flaws but it is beautifully told and it quite a nice story. If you look for a exciting gaming experience I do not think this is the game for you. If you want a nice told slightly mystic story about teenagers I think you would enjoy it.

    This game made me more emotional than any other game, film or book I've ever played, watched or read. After finishing it, I could barely sleep or work for several days. A year on, I still get shivers every time I see a screenshot or gif from it. I don't know what this game did to me, or how, but what I do know is that it's **** perfect.

По мере прохождения игры, я много раз проводил параллели с реальным миром, в плане того, что каждый день человек должен делать выбор. Судьбы персонажей просочились в мою жизнь и уже не получится просто забыть всё это, я заберу с собой в могилу все эти воспоминания. Музыка, которая сопровождала всю игру является неотъемлемой частью этого виртуального мира, она просто прекрасна. Живые диалоги между персонажами заставляют задуматься о жизни, они наполнены смыслом и искренностью. Перемотка времени как нельзя кстати, ведь в реальности иногда так этого не хватает, я бы многое хотел изменить в реальной жизни, но это невозможно, зато здесь я могу это сделать. Иногда были очень грустные моменты, иногда очень весёлые и опять же, игра очень похожа на жизнь, она не очередной продукт потребления и развлечения, который просто забудут, в неё вложили душу, свои личные травмы, переживания, эмоции, именно это делает игру настоящей, живой. Много трагических моментов были мною замечены, иногда было невыносимо грустно и даже скупая мужская слеза просочилась через мои веки, шедевр, каких очень мало, проект не для денег, а для людей.     What a great atmosphere this game offers. The characters feel real, the story is good and the soundtracks are amazing. A bunch of the events gave me the chills and I got very emotionally invested. Definitely recommend this one.

    Story and atmosphere are absolutely phenomenal. And the climax was emotional and brilliant and just really well-done.

    But I do have a couple critiques of the story.

    I felt like the scene where Victoria was trying to seduce the teacher was pretty weak. It obviously existed to solidify Mr. Jefferson as a trustworthy man before he surprises you by revealing he was the main bad guy all along, which is just really cliché. I really wish Jefferson could have alluded to his creepy side better before the reveal.

    It's obvious that sacrificing Chloe is the "intended" way to end the game, but the "sacrifice Arcadia Bay" option feels like a missed opportunity since it could have been really powerful too: Max is refusing to just accept what "fate" wants and will do absolutely whatever she can for her friend, which is pretty badass. It would have been nice to see this mindset reflected in the game, especially because player choice is the game's core theme.

    Overall, I think it probably deserves like a 9.7 out of 10. Totally glad I got to play it.    … Expand

    - Un gameplay maigre et plutôt faiblard. Certes, c'est rarement un point fort dans ce genre de jeu, mais ce n'est pas une raison pour s'en contenter. En gros, vous allez spammer toutes les indications à l'écran sur chaque "tableau" et rembobiner le temps deux/trois, bien obligé par le scénario ou pour résoudre quelques énigmes pas bien méchantes.

    - Un scénario qui s'effiloche au fil des épisodes. Quel dommage ! Mais pas si étonnant, quand la thématique tourne autour des modifications temporelles... il y a forcément un moment où ça part en cacahuète. Ca commence par le syndrome des personnages stupides, qui apparait à l'épisode 4. Seul moyen pour les scénaristes de faire tenir l'édifice jusqu'au dénouement. Dans le genre roue libre, l'épisode 5 se pose en exemple. Il y a de bons moments, bien sûr, mais globalement c'est le freestyle complet et on perçoit presque la panique de l'équipe d'écriture qui cherche à boucler son histoire.

    Hormis ces deux éléments qui peuvent vous échauder, je vous conseille encore une fois de tenter l'aventure. Life is Strange me parait être moins rejouable que d'autres jeux du genre, mais c'est à vous de vous faire une opinion à ce sujet. En ce qui me concerne, je parcours ces jeux une fois et ça me convient !    … Expand

    The game feels like a movie in which you can make your own decisions which ultimately changes the story itself. Characters are well written and interactions with each one of them feel super realistic. In general I would say the main focus of the game is on the developing relationships with the people around you and also the consequences of your own actions in the bigger picture. The bonding with others feels super emotional and I definitely had goosebumps more than once while playing.

    Graphics are good but nothing special, the atmosphere is amazing.

    Gameplay itself isn´t fast neither slow paced. You can decide where to go in a small level-based area, but exploration within the level is completely available.

    The Story is absolutely crazy and super well written. Decisions have a huge impact on everything and can be really hard at times. There are many twists and turns which made me shiver a lot. The setting and the characters within the story are very well placed and all of this fits together perfectly.

    The time it took me to finish the game is satisfying. Not too long and not too short.

    In my opinion this is a must play game for everyone who likes meaningful stories with emotional encounters and a strong message.

От некоторых эпизодов просто сносит голову, в прямом смысле. Конец 4-го и вроде конец 2-го или 3-го эпизода просто делает такую вещь, от которой просто оху******. В игре есть выборы и это очень радует (конечно, они все пойдут в мусорку в конце, ну да ладна). Музыка годнота, особенно в меню после каждого эпизода. Конечно как по мне, немного графон мультышный, еслиб эта игра была по графике как ремастер RE2, то это был бы еще один шедевр (я не графодрочер, просто мне лично совсем немнго режет глаз эта графика).… Expand

    Was going to delete at first. Dialogue animations really reminded of DXHR. Can't believe that is has released 5 years ago, feels like only yesterday I saw endless YT letsplays. And they still make porn with it :(

    Um Jogo que com gráficos simples e um roteiro singelo, cativante e atraente.
    Sem muitas surpresas, Life is strange é um bom jogo (quase filme) de jogabilidade bem simples, bem difícil não ficar retido em ao menos 1 momento. Só alguns pontos que me deixaram levemente incomodado, mas a estória e a trilha sonora é o grande potencial do jogo.

    While it may start out rocky, LiS draws you in with good character writing, an intriguing mystery and a great soundtrack. Just for the ending, this is a must-play.

    Bei diesem Spiel stimmt wirklich nahezu alles. Tolle Musik, tolle Sprecherinnen, stimmiges Gameplay und unfassbar herzzerreißend schön-traurige Geschichte. Nur hier und da hätten die Suchpassagen angepasst sein können (wenn man Leute ewig warten lässt, um ein Plakat zu bestaunen).

    Life is Strange was an incredible experience. With its writing, beautiful visual style, and amazing soundtrack, it makes you experience a wide range of emotions and asks you to make hard choices. Well crafted and unique.

    This entire experience was wonderful for me. What I like about the episodic releases is the waiting inbetween and how the community interacts and waits with each other. But even if the entire game is out, it's worth playing. The gameplay offers more than just 'a walking simulator'. Though the reason to play this game are truly the atmosphere, music, characters and the story. Nowadays it'sThis entire experience was wonderful for me.     The story hits hard. Graphics were pretty good for 2015 and should run on any modern computer just fine. I absolutely loved playing it and would recommend to anyone.

    One of the best games I've ever played. It's interesting, original, beautiful and really emotional. It's not even a game, but rather a unique personal experience of self-knowledge. You will all the time have to decide who you are and what your beliefs are. Also in this game there are incredibly lively characters. I envy those who still have not played it.

    Life Is Strange is an imperfect video game and the actual mechanics of playing it, including the time rewind, can become annoying of frustrating, especially when the development team tries to borrow from another genre. But the game makes it easy to create a connection with Max and to care about her choices and trials, a rare feat, and that means any fan of narrative-driven experiences should try it out to see how he deals with the feelings of the protagonist and the impact they have on Arcadia Bay.
