    This cancer gave me the utmost disbelief in my own faith in the ability for apes to create a game, I honestly thought that this game made by baboons would be alright, then again it didnt work. Matchmaking gives me a failing trust in computers.

    Have played this game for four fxxxing years. I feel so bad about this game. No improve for the sxxtty client, no clan system, no banning system. If you get a troll, you will suffer for freaking 30-40 mins. Don't play it, if you are worried about your health. This game will give you cancer.

    League of legends is a MOBA style game that at first seems like it has a lot to offer. The gameplay is pretty solid and aside from the weekly updates the servers are almost never down. They have come a long way since they first started and when I started playing (somewhere around 6 years now) and have made many improvements to the stability of the game.

    A lot of people complain about    League of legends is a MOBA style game that at first seems like it has a lot to offer. The gameplay is pretty solid and aside from the weekly updates the servers are almost never down. They have come a long way since they first started and when I started playing (somewhere around 6 years now) and have made many improvements to the stability of the game.

    A lot of people complain about the community and while it is true that it may be one of the most hostile communities that I have ever been a part of, this is very easily countered with the mute button and ignoring toxic players.

    The real key issues that I have with the game are the way that the game matches players. If you play poorly for enough games and your win loss ratio drops low enough, you will be matched against the absolute worst players that the game can find in order to even out. That makes sense from a business standpoint because you want your customers to stick around and not get mad when they can't win a game. However, if you win a few games the pendulum swings so far in the opposite direction that it is near impossible to win a match no matter how good you and your team play. After several thousands of games I noticed that the key number was +40 and -10. this becomes frustrating for veteran players who just want to play a few good matches against even opponents and not worry too much about a w/l ratio.

    The second issue that I have with the game is a catch 22. The game is constantly being updated and the devs are making slight tweaks to the game twice a month or more. While this may seem like a good thing at first it really has become a hassle. Aside from changing many of the champions and tweaking damage ratios the devs have decided to completely rework some of the champions. This is also frustrating because people like myself tend to enjoy sticking to certain play styles and builds, but every few weeks I have to almost relearn an entire game. For example a few months back when you played a tank champion you played him as just that, a bullet sponging heavy hellbent on soaking up as much damage as you could while not putting much damage back on the field. This all changed recently and now the key to winning is rolling a few tanks and building them as tanks, then completely and utterly running over everything in your path because the damage output has to "reflect the damage potential of all the characters." So now instead of building a strong attack champion I am stuck trying to counter the damage from the tanks which of course puts me in a huge dilemma, because now I can't build the damage to hurt them.

    So in conclusion, League of Legends is a game that most people can pick up and play and probably enjoy for some time, but eventually you will start to notice all of the little downfalls of the game. The only way to avoid the hassle is to play ranked, which is probably the most toxic part of the community. Your best bet is to get a few friends together and play solely with them. The game is fun and I enjoy playing it but the recent changes and the direction that I see the game going are pushing me farther and farther away.

    The game play itself is pretty fun and the balancing isn't bad though they keep taking unique champs and either nerfing them into the ground or changing them to make them more like every other champ.

    Another issue is how riot never listens to their player base. They have a web site with forums but they read reddit more than they read their own site. When they do post something it is often a lie, or information you could have gotten from a different site weeks earlier. (how bad is a company when their own web site is the worst place to get info about them...)

    They started rotating special game modes every weekend but this has more to do with their servers being unable to handle the extra load when they would release gamemodes for special occasions. Every time urf came out the game would be completely unplayable for at least 3 days due to their servers crashing constantly. Riot seems completely unwilling to spend any money to upgrade the filthy american servers.

    Their is really no way to pay for power which is probably the best thing about the game. With few exceptions the skins you buy do not really add any benefit to game play other than ascetics. The only way to really gain benefit is to buy some of the stronger champs when you are low level and beat up on noobs (a very common practice that riot has let fester to the point new players will be trolled at least 1 in every 3 games)

    The game is fun but the company Riot has sabotaged it's own game to the point it is almost unplayable. Between the Horrible community, bad servers, bad connections to servers, a weird lag issue with comcast that only riot suffers from, the unwillingness from riot to listen to their players; I have to suggest people don't bother playing this game since it is much more frustrating than fun.    … Expand

    I have been played this game for almost 5 years but I finally quitted after giving it more tries than it deserves.
    I will try new MOBA games as paragon and maybe overwatch, In the meanwhile you can find me playing team fortress 2, fapping or maybe doing something useful.

The lower bracket is littered with afks, laggers, and leavers. Dota 2 amazingly has a better community. Rarely ever do I meet flamers. The only trade-off is that you are often are matched with non-native English speakers, but they are generally quiet.

    I was able to reach diamond (top 1%[?]) in only half a year. If you want a high-skill cap MOBA game, just play Dota 2.    … Expand

    Overhyped MOBA, does not promote skill but rather picking the easy path with lock on skills that does not miss. Worst part about League of Legends is the community management - endless toxicity no matter what level of ranking you sit at, slow response to critical issues such as the Hydra crash and Blade of the Ruined King bug existed for YEARS before they were acknowledged and fixed.

    I am an avid League of Legends player and been playing since Season 3. League of Legends is fun and challenging. Not only does this game challenge the physical side by using the keyboard and mouse, it challenges the mental aspects as well. Every decision you make in-game will make an impact.     There are over 134 Champions available to play and each champion have unique skills. Players can find and master their preferred playstyle.

    -Team based gameplay
    -End of Season Ranked Rewards
    -Champion variety
    -Different roles
    -Competitive E-sports and Pro-scene.

    Cons
    -Learning curve ( I personally like the learning curve because of its competitive atmosphere. The more you play and learn, the better you become at the game.)
    -Community is not good.
    -Random trolls who ruin the competitive experience.
    -Balance issues

    -Riot is starting to cater toward casual players. (Just think of how competitive Bungie's Halo trilogy was. Then out of nowhere Halo: Reach is released and it's pretty casual. Then 343i turned Halo 4 completely into a casual snooze fest. No skill involved.)

    For example, Riot decided to make Dragon spawn with random buffs. Also, making plants spawn in random locations throughout the map. (The developer who designed the Plant System and the Jungle changes was a low ranked player trying to make it easier for low skilled players to compete against higher skilled players.)

    The game is still competitive, but I think they might be moving toward casual players.

    Overall, I think League of legends is incredible. I recommend anyone looking for a competitive free to play PC game.

    With the addition of "Runes Reforged" League has become fully casual game. No competitive aspects to the game anymore... Random based runes should not be in a competitive game, period. However, Riot has implemented RNG elements into the game reducing the skill gap. Since there's no skill gap, low level players can equally compete against higher skilled players. (No Skill Gap)So, I have dropped my rating from 10/10 to 0/10. This game is not recommended.    … Expand

All that Riot care about is making as much money as possible and not care about balancing the game, fixing matchmaking and balancing champs

    The community is garbage, Riot is garbage, the balance is garbage, they permaban people with considerable amounts of money on their account for "toxic" behavior but they don't ban feeders (I understand toxicity is not ideal but a permanent chat restriction would work much better yk).

    The game is really rewarding but if your teammate isn't doing well you'll end up dead and half your braincells paralyzed. Sometimes grievers on the other team afk and you have a free win. Sometimes it's your team. For beginners, I recommend not even starting. It's a waste of time and effort. Honestly, you'll regret playing. The community is definitely super rude and beginners who start playing pvp or ranked should be prepared to be trash talked like crazy. There's an obvious reason why this is dying down. I'm not even going to start on bugs, client crashes, and sudden disconnects. Overall, the terrible community of people you play with and the toxicity that players are exposed to proves that many players lose enjoyment during the course of this game and forget that league of legends is really just a game that should be enjoyed...since it's not very enjoyable.… Expand

    Go online and figure out which champs with which items are the cheapest and most overpowered... that's all you need to do to get ahead, because it's that broken. Only a small amount works. The rest is all left behind and unusable.

    Icons aren't even updated, the art doesn't even match from different decades. lol It's that bad.

    All they care about is selling you the new broken champ and collecting a lot of money for skins and chromas on something over-powered.

    Even those are degrading. The prices went way up to. Do the math on that it's shocking how they rip you off and for what.

    The direction is money... shaking people down. That's it. They do not give a damn about match-making or serious gaming and teamwork... etc. Not like they did 2012 and before.

    Sold out and trash.

    I'd be embarrassed to work for this company.

    They're just camping out on top of the corpse of something that was once great and they've been doing it for 7 years.

    Even the surveys are all about the STORE and the PRODUCTS and VALUE... that's it! lol

    The reward system has also become really terrible. When loot boxes were first released, I was actually really excited because of the free skins, but now it seems they're giving more champion shards than skins, which just feels so disappointing.
    Then you have the matching system, which is also fairly horrible as it pairs you up with teammates who are either relatively new to the game, or not good at it, then it proceeds to match you with enemies who are so much more experienced then you and your teammates which they will abuse a lot, leaving us at a huge disadvantage.

This game needs it's tribunal system back. The new ranked system should be reverted. The game has turned into a joke since by the time you master anything to be good enough to play competitively Riot reworks builds, items, champions, and adds new ridiculously overtuned and frustrating champions/reworks to the game. They need to add the ability to permanently turn off chat, remove ping spamming and the question mark ping, and remove autofill. Tbh if they turned off chat for everyone except premades that would probably help the game become a lot less toxic. And ofc keep people muted in post game lobby.… Expand

    2) For new players it's completely overloaded. Almost 150 champs to learn, Riot still adding new ones, and new additions or reworks are designed so badly it's absolutely no fun playing against anymore. Save your time and spend it on something that's actually entertaining.
    3) Community is toxic and Riot doesn't care. They have a report system, but it's pretty much doing nothing. Expect people to intentionally feed, troll, be toxic as hell, Riot is fine with it all.
    4) It's probably pay 2 win by now. I haven't been spending any money on this game anymore for years. And I can feel the consequences. 5 Minute wait times in Silver / Gold Elo, only to get abysmal matches. When I compare the matchups I get with the ones others get that I know for sure still spend money on this game, there is a significant gap. Of course Riot won't admit it, but it's way too obvious to be statistically possible randomness. Add to that Riots history of implementing concepts that were already proven to be garbage in other games by other companies - even against community protest - and it's not that hard to imagine Riot using matchmaking algorithms that punish people that don't pay up.
    5) Even high ranked streamers and youtubers actually recommend to not start playing it anymore or to quit if you don't enjoy it, since they see the same problems
    6) The most obvious fact to prove my point of Riot not giving **** about the community and experience and only want to make as much money as possible: League is clearly dying. Revenue went down from 3 billion in 2016 to about half in 2019. Of course they won't ban or punish potential money spenders, no matter how bad they behave or are for the game. Of couse that would be an incentive to make bad matchmaking to push people to purchasing stuff. EA and Activision both proved the ideas are out there. They were just stupid and greedy enough to patent those ideas and make it public knowledge. However, nothing prevents Riot from implementing those mechanics in secret themselves - no one will ever know.

    So yes, do yourself a favor, don't start playing this game or if you are, just stop. It will save you a lot of wasted time spent better otherwise.    … Expand

Most people IN this game anymore, do not use almost any teamwork or grouping and Riot hasn't encouraged it since the early days.

    in the early days they'd make videos about it, constantly talk about being a good teammate... they had report systems for: NO COMMUNICATION, UNSKILLED, AVOIDING GROUP... now it's essentially a big Kiosk for really bad, overpriced skins and gamble-boxes. The overlay is hideous and the skill trees are replaced by really bad rune trees where only very few skills in any are really usable.

    Every new champ is a Delete Button that's somehow unforgettable. Turrets are simply worthless let alone this game being a tower defense game. Minions once had worth and another strategy of the game was being a PUSHER and augmenting them. Now it's just sped up games where people rush for linear builds. The versatility of champs has been removed. If it's a tank, it's a brick. Nunu is a perfect example, or Sejuani... take away what makes them fun and unique and make them bricks with one decent scaling stat. Anything but HP on either is useless.

    The old skins and animations were better done and they even looked like they had definition or the ones meant to be comical WERE comical... all the redos are choppy, underdone animations and movements and skin redos that are just awful. Kayle's new look is beyond terrible.

    What's really funny too is that Riot, Virtue Signals and all their reports are based around hate speech (or talking too much in general...) and they pretend their game is safe for all people (namely kids) but it's completely over-saturated in sex. Evelynn looks like she's riding a #$%& it's so inappropriate and every splash art now for a s skin with for a female character has to have giant t#$s showing on it to sell it. It reminds me of the hypocrisy of World of Warcraft and making every Horde race a non-Caucasian racial stereotype with racist jokes and jokes about how they stink and they're ugly built into their emotes/phrases. It's just stupid and hypocritical. Riot doesn't like language like "oh that guy got raped.." in game but every female in the game looks like a shameless French whore with the focal point of the art being T&A. They also have a lot of Devil s#$% and horns and Free Masonic symbolism in the art. It's just dumb. No one cares about your bigoted clubs. You can tell the artist is one. (I have them in my family I know all of it when I see it). The art concepts are terrible anyway. Just because you're a good technical artist doesn't mean you're a good artist. The concepts suck.

    It's just bad these days. Beyond belief.

    My girl friend and I, if we both liked a character over the years, it got changed and ruined. In looks, voice acting and abilities. Completely changed and stupid. League was something else in the past... and in the past it was fun and it WAS a strategic, team based tower defense game.

    Now it's mortal combat for kids with a Care Bear security system built in that's totally Virtue Signaling but yet hypocritical based on the companies other content. Making the changes in the first place starting around 2013 was bad. I've even seen things start to be rolled back now, after a ton of changes over the years. They should seriously release the earlier version of this game separately, I guarantee more people would play it and enjoy it.

    The most glaring issue in the game is the complete unbalance and the community that just doesn't give 2 s#$%& and a #$%@ about teamwork or performing their rolls.

    Games end in 20 minutes or under anyway. It's just feeling like a constant waste of time. The matching is hideous. It's worse then it's ever been. You get teams that work together and do what they need to do and then another side where it's impossible to get an ADC to TOUCH enemies or poke or group or get a team in general to give a s#$% about what's going on in the game.

    Another fact: Illoui can defeat a team of 5 alone with 2 or 3 items and win games solo. She's been ridiculous since the day she was conceived. Not even range can defeat her when tentacle swarms creating a mobile death field everywhere around her and she's a tank without even being tanked up that much. And the changes aren't even complete... summoner spell art thumbnails are still inconsistent in artwork... champs are still not updated leaving a small portion merely usable...

I am upset because I had invested a lot of money and a lot of time on that account and definitely do not plan on doing that again. I had planned on becoming a loyal player again now that I was finally able to afford to play again, but unfortunately, will have to part ways with it.     The support staff are useless and barely do any supporting. They are just there to stop the community from speaking to anymore that is able to do anything. I have had the support staff lie to me and yet when I have tried to make a complaint there no one to speak to but the support staff.

    Riot Games only cares about money and there esport yet expect the main community to put up with how disrespectful and ungrateful Riot are.

    The game is never balance because Riot always adding over powered champ and dont look at how the person vs the broken champ experience is, and if they do fix the odd champ it takes week if not months to do so.

    The matchmaking is awful as it goes by a MMR system were player with similar score get matched with you. This is awful as it doesn't bring in that the player been carried and that there team wins it for them.

    This game is so retarded, especially the matchmaking. Once you get a good team, it is ok. Most always you get some bots in a team and then once you say them they are bad, they'll just report you and you will get penaltys. For Riot it does not matter if you are performing best in a team, they will just get you penalties, because you are unpolite.
